  1. It seems especially egregious that they have written both Dominique and Heather as having babies while institutionalized as the rationale behind two different stories occurring at the same time! All while Willow and Trina both will have their upcoming reveal of long lost parents. We need bit more diversity in storytelling. IRL, finding out the specifics of one's conception in your 20s would be interesting, but hardy life-changing, especially if it was also happening to three other people in the same small town.
  2. Cody's existence calls into question Rex Stanton's entire motivation for kidnapping Serena Baldwin and causing all of his chaos. But, also after Katherine Bell, haven't we rung out as much entertainment value as the briefly mentioned Taub/Stanton family would allow? At least he could have been a Barrett, (perhaps the son of Julia?). The convoluted back story of this character either needs to be resolved, or they need to move forward, because I like the actor (regardless of how he was cast), and GH needs some fresh romantic leads. I would be fine if he admits that he heard about the Stanton fortune from Dante while in the military, came to con Scotty, saw he's got no money, and now he wants a new plan for his life.
  3. It makes zero dollars and zero sense, especially since we later met Dominique's uncle and we met Katherine Bell, who was raised on the same estate as Dominique, and neither of them were concerned about another heir being raised at the family's home. Also Katherine had an affair with a younger Nikolas, who seems to be the same age as Cody, so it seems especially odd that she wouldn't know (or never mentioned) about Cody being on the estate.
  4. I'm slightly intrigued about where the story with Cody is going. His motives around Britt and the necklace were suspicious. I would be very interested if there was some interaction between him and Esme around their respective upbringings. However, I don't want him to be a third in the Dante/Sam relationship (which is already not that interesting, except for their discussion about Dante's feelings about Sonny's crimes yesterday). I also don't think there is any long term payoff in his relationship with Mac because Mac is a big nothing burger (especially compared to Scotty, although Scotty doesn't need anymore lost lost children). So, with Britt dead I wonder what the next story will be for Cody? I would suggest the first thing is that he needs is a job or some specialization that gives his character value in the town beyond just being a romantic single. Then, I would suggest that they establish a friendship with Drew or Austin so that he can have more organic interactions around town.
  5. Also was Althea a Chandler? I don't recall that she and Adam were married at the time of Skye's conception. Although I remember that he was quick to accept both Skye and Hayley as his kids, probably because that pre-dated DNA tests.
  6. @Vee If this happened I wonder if the first words out of Althea's mouth would have been, "What's the deal? The last time I saw my daughter she was an Australian cabaret singer." Haha - also I don't know how to quote a post from another thread without it being a screenshot - dm me if there's an easier way to make such a lame joke.
  7. Here's a question that I haven't found an answer to - given that Marjorie Taylor Green was stripped of her congressional committee duties during the prior session of congress, will she get them back with a GOP majority? There was a funny CNN piece on how she spends her time, given that she had nothing to do but sponsor bills that never made it to the floor with names like The No Funding for Terrorists Act and The Protect America First Act. ( https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/03/politics/marjorie-taylor-greene-twitter-permanent-ban/index.html ) Now with the chaotic mess of the GOP being unable to elect a speaker, this ignoramus seems to wield a lot of power just based on her social media presence rather than her actual ability to be a force for change. She is the nightmare of a media creation, who can say the most offensive things, while not serving her district and getting re-elected. Even in her debate for this election she had to concede that she had not fulfilled any of her election promises because she was removed from her committee positions. So, is she going to get them back?
  8. I've read and understood a lot of the reasons to dislike the characters of Joss and Brit, but I am surprised that Chase still gets a pass. From his cringey singing to his lame relationships, this character is a dud. First, Willow marries him out of pity, then he's angry when she cheats, then, Brook Lynn tries to get him to be a successful pop star, and he's angry when he can't be a cop. This character is a whiny punk who inherited none of the charisma genes from either of his parents.
  9. If this is the real Hooker that has been revealed, then I am disappointed. Regardless of whether on not one is a fan of the character, it was a disappointing ending for Brit, because it has nothing to do with the health concerns that have driven her story for months. Not only is the person revealed a fairly peripheral character, but it doesn't logically make sense that someone of that age could pull off these very physical acts, have access to the resources, as well as have the knowledge about the types of coats that Esme owns. I am mildly intrigued to hear the explanation of the motive for the crimes, but I am not amused.
  10. Bo II is definitely a silly name. If they ever SORAS that baby I hope they use the name Reg (for beauREGard).
  11. Thanks buddy, that's a sweet thought. I look forward to reading more of your postings in the new year. Cheers!
  12. My second thought was, I wonder if CNN will cancel Cheri Oteri's regular appearance on Anderson and Andy's New Year's special?
  13. Fact of the day! I guess the name still worked when he turned out to Lucas's kid, due to Lucas's father's name. Although naming a kid William after Billie has got to be the first time in history that has happened. These DAYS names are an endless source of trivia. I was thinking that even though there's still no Addie, wasn't Hope named as a tribute to her mother? Thank you for your expertise and Happy New Year.
  14. I've said for years that it is a missed opportunity that they never expand the world by using Spencer to reflect the public perception of Forrester. I mean, do people in that version of LA wear Hope for the Future? Do they covet an FC purse or Logan Lingerie? And does FC's ad buy effect the coverage at Spencer?
  15. My other random thought of the day: Isn't funny that they referenced Marlena's doll, but Rachel seems to have no interest in playing with the action figure that brought Marlena and Brady back together when he was first SORASed? I guess that's a male presenting action figure, this iteration of Brady is no longer motivated by the loss of his mother, or Brady doesn't like to share his toys. But, I would argue that Brady's doll is more iconic (in-story), than Marlena's 12 inch likeness. Also, I don't know if John Black's biological status as a Brady has been canonized in the story as an accepted fact amongst the Brady clan, but I wonder if he never went back to his birth name of Ryan Brady because then his son would have to be called Brady Brady? (tee hee)
  16. With all of the talk about Zende and Thomas it got me thinking how illogical it is that Eric no longer designs for FC. Karl Lagerfeld designed for Chanel up to his dying day, and FC only has one fashion show a year, so it's not that hard. I could understand using the younger generation to design the diffusion line of Hope for the Future, but why not have Eric continuing to design for the main line? On the same note, is B&B ever going to address the downturn of print media and its effect on Spencer Publications? I know CBS as a whole barely references the changes in media consumption. However, from lack of pandemic references to the odd cell phone apps they use, the parallel universe that these characters live within is growing further from reality all the time.
  17. I wonder if Rachel is the most obscure reference, given the amount of time her namesake was actually on-air?
  18. But, to be fair, by the time Bobby Marsino bought it and renamed it Marsino's there was an infamous pole that electrocuted poor Brittney.
  19. I just realized Bo and Hope named their daughter Ciara Alice, and then Sami named her daughter Alice aka Allie. In my family I have a nephew with a middle name inspired by my grandfather, and he has a cousin with the same first name of my grandfather. So, I guess this is meaningless, but I had never made that connection before. Also, I know Will is named for Bill but why are there no Tom's? Maybe Sandy has a Thomas the III? And Adelaide aka Addie seems like a name lost to another time.
  20. From Gina's Place to Society, there's always been a question of why this small mid-western suburb had such an active nightlife scene. And that's not even counting the various strip clubs and Colonade Rooms
  21. It's so weird that (a) they decided to do another murder plot with another of Paulina's kids, (b) the "murder" occurred off screen, (c) the resolution occurred off screen. The visuals of the whole plot was people on their phones hearing various pieces of news. I assume that the rumored introduction of Sloan's family will resolve the plot, but at this point who cares? We never saw the victims, the consequences were minimal, and there's no mystery about what happened.
  22. Also Leo is too young (and too short ((iykyk)) for that reference. It reeks of being written rather than organic which instantly takes me out of the scene. When we last saw Will wasn't he leaving town, just after Sonny's stabbing, while helping to prove Leo's innocence? Sonny mentions speaking to Will on the phone often, so why is this all a surprise to him?
  23. Also, she and Drew just went through that whole rigamarole with her parent's ashes that supposedly was going to change the character's approach to her life as a mother and partner, yet there seems to be no reflection of that incident on these recent choices. If the stories don't build upon each other it defeats the purpose of continuing drama. My fantasy GH writer would have Carly talk to Willow about finding peace and love after forgiving her biological mother, (just as Willow has the opportunity to do with Nina), which would allow Carly to play some mature drama, rather than just revert to being a selfish and vengeful brat. Then, Willow could look at her own choices in her relationship with Michael. And, that insight (which is cheap to produce) would endear her to the audience.
  24. I co-sign this, because it is not even in Michael's best interest for Carly to keep the secret (I often forget that they are even related given how few scenes they share with each other). It is just one of those soap tropes that information stays secret until it becomes necessary for the plot, which is often illogical and out of character.
  25. I guess they're all in shock, so nobody is thinking clearly, but... (1) Bill was shot, went to the hospital for surgery, refused to press charges, and now years later he is going to the police? Isn't that double jeopardy, or at least too suss for the DA to consider? (2) How would this plan work once Steffi tells Taylor about Sheila's threat? Wouldn't Taylor be more willing to accept a plea deal than allow her daughter's attempted murderer to run free? (3) Even if Steffi and Finn don't call the police now (which there is literally nothing stopping them from doing so), the cops are still looking for Sheila, so how would she ever be able to live freely in LA? (4) Where's Li?
