I generally find both Will and Jada to be two of the most repulsive, and phony people in Hollywood, so no, I won't condone Will's assault on live television just because he's a star. Anyone else would have been reprimanded by security and taken out of the ceremony. The Smith "family" for you!

- Y&R March 2022 Discussion Thread
I think most fans have given up on this show ever returning to Bell's stylized melodrama, but would it kill them to hire people who could at least write something resembling conflict, and one coherent and interesting story? It's not just the fact Y&R has strayed far from its roots, but it's more so the show is so damn uninteresting/boring and has not been able to tell one damn consistent story for like the past 15 years. If they wanted to change Y&R's signature style, fine (begrudgingly), but at least write something interesting.- Ratings from the 1990s
Miller-Boyett was really a bubblegum factory for generic sitcoms, eh? I guess Carsey-Werner were opposing producing duo of that era - however, they had the good sense to hire some decent creators from time to time and operated more like an independent film studio vs. factory.- The Spin Off Thread
Agreed - there was nothing really left to explore there. Ritter was already the male lead on TC, to give him another show as a lead with the same character seemed like a played out concept. And again, it didn’t help that the supporting cast was so damn dull. I know some have claimed it would have worked with Jack and Janet as a couple, but I just don’t see it. I never thought those characters worked beyond friends. And again, after 8 seasons, did those characters need another damn show?- The Spin Off Thread
Granted, TC was never the most thoughtful show, lol, but I can’t say the show suffered creatively with the exit of the Ropers.- General Hospital March 2022 Discussion Thread
Were most of those actors in their teens though or just playing teenagers?- General Hospital March 2022 Discussion Thread
The young female cast on this show is very green and I haven't really seen steady improvement from any of them.- The Soaps That Never Were
Sounds like a soap version of Are You Being Served? I wonder if aspects were plucked from it for B&B...- Y&R: Old Articles
- Disney+: Marvel Studios' Ms. Marvel
Premieres June 8th- Disney+: Marvel Studios' Moon Knight
Premieres March 30th - I never thought I'd see a live action version of this character, so I'm interested in how this goes.- ARTICLE: Zach Tinker on Contract as Sonny Kiriakis on ‘Days of our Lives’
Is it all that surprising he wanted a contract though? Look at it objectively, it’s not like his acting career is in high demand in film or primetime. He’s also pushing 30, not old by any means and not as detrimental as it is for actresses, but definitely an awkward age for most actors who are not yet established.- DAYS: Fire Jamey Giddens!!
They probably don’t want to pay royalties for actors no longer on the show, hence no old flashbacks. Which begs the question - why bother at all then?- ARTICLE: ‘Days of our Lives’ Head Writer Posts Query: “Tell me your job so I can tweet at you how you’re doing it wrong”
Maybe he should stay off social media then or make his account private? Also, his work is public domain with the intention to entertain. If it’s not succeeding, the audience has a right to react. He’s an aging soap writer that’s risen up the ranks during the dying days of the genre. Hardly something that’s an honor in this day and age. Perhaps he should have stuck to practicing Law.- DAYS: Fire Jamey Giddens!!
In the grand scheme of things, Renee is barely a blip on the radar really. I don't understand why these people expect a pat on their backs for dredging up character names that anyone who can use Wikipedia can do.- DAYS: Fire Jamey Giddens!!
That's correct - but given the current climate and everyone cutting corners as much as possible, no idea if things have been altered a bit to produce things quicker.- ALL: Favorite Soap Special Episodes, Standalones, and Stunts
Corrie’s only ever used the two-handed format twice to my knowledge. The example you had above @Faulkner but first with Raquel (Sarah Lancashire) and Curly.- ALL: Favorite Soap Special Episodes, Standalones, and Stunts
Over in the UK, EastEnders used to do some fabulous 'two-hander' episodes (where only two characters appeared for the entire episode). There were some awful ones too, but when they were good, they were goooood. The character of Dot Cotton even had a 'one-hander' where she was the only character featured in that particular episode.- DAYS: Fire Jamey Giddens!!
I, like @Khan, could never support Jamey even through the lens of being a fellow longtime soap fan who wanted a crack at writing/producing for the genre (which seemed to be the backbone of his support on this board a little while back). He's proven himself to be driven by baseless agendas and horrible taste for years. DC just gave him a platform to exploit disgruntle soap fans. Ambitions was a flop (some may have liked it, but being canceled after one season speaks for itself), and his scripts on DAYS makes the worst Dynasty scripts look like a Tennessee Williams masterpiece.- The Spin Off Thread
We can go down the procedural route with the Law & Orders and CSIs of the world, too.- Dallas Discussion Thread
I think this was a mock from the YouTube description of the video. I know WB acquired Lorimar in 1989, so their entire library has been owned by WB since then. Not sure if another studio/company held the distribution or syndication rights to the Lorimar library before the WB acquisition though.- Falcon Crest
- The Batman
I thought it was well-crafted from a technical standpoint, but way too long for what it should have been and could have been better edited. There were structural issues with plotting and pacing that I couldn't get over while watching it. Also, I can't say I was blown away by most of the casting - no one was bad, and Pattinson actually did a believable enough job, but I generally found the cast to be pretty by the numbers. It was more of a film noir mystery, but sadly, the actual mystery was pretty straightforward to me (and I didn't read any spoilers) and I was never left on the edge of my seating guessing. The cinematography is amazing though.- Falcon Crest
This crap may as well been a new show entirely, or a spinoff. And whoever thought the visibly Italian-American Kristian Alfonso should play a character of Mexican heritage needs to be stoned. - Y&R March 2022 Discussion Thread
