BTG: March 2025 Discussion Thread
As if we aren't used to the best HW seasons have an event every episode. 😜 I would think to keep momentum BTG would at least give us one event a week. If not something to build up to a weekly cliffhanger. And since it's now been mentioned so I don't have to avoid mentioning it yep on end of April/start of May Sweeps. Which is why I speculated about Guza being in the house because by that point, I bet the shows will be working well enough for one of his Sweeps events.

ALL: Grade February Sweeps 2025
Now because they did so much and did it well in spite of time and flaws is why it should get the A. 😜 But I understand. It is also why it took me so long to get through the other soaps because they truly do pale in comparison to me and are now a chore to watch. Or least GH was. I almost gave GH an F so I feel that. lmao

That's because there's so much good to talk about up in here. 😜 And it's actually going slower (for now) than last month. They do, but I agree with others that it's not romantic chemistry as fiery chemistry. But like you said...it wouldn't be the first time a booty call turned into the love. I was just mentioning my first serious relationship. THAT was my FIRST relationship so...hehe.

Yeah. What the above said. I love me some Shanice. I did that with my first serious relationship. And sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I had gone ahead and followed my dreams back in 2005 before self-publishing took off to where it became when I chose myself in 2013. Moreso because my first relationship was not worth my time and apparently was not what it was in reality as I found out years later over a lovely bottle of champagne when we were no longer together and civil enough to have a conversation about the woulda, shoulda, coulda. I can see why that resonates. Another sign of good soap indeed. Another piece of great dialogue. This show soo has that in spades.

GH: March 2025 Discussion Thread
Finally moving into March and...I'm good. I'm happy that I got what I wanted with Laura's kids coming home finally. And that I got to see an old school GH writer come back even if he didn't get to live up to his full potential. That said...the pushing of that silly Sasha/Jason plot, Sidwell smirking all over the place like FV's latest flavor of the month, the Joss-is-Sydney-Bristow plot, and the lack of Laura with said kids...not to mention Liz...add onto the overkill return of the wackas, wackas is just too much for me. Which is sad since I liked Ms. Wu being back and in cahoots with Drew. I see Lucas and Brad made it to Miami (and Mr. Shen looks attractive to me...js). And now Drew continues to hit hints of true villainy with trying to blackmail Portia. And I'm always here for Drew vs Curtis. So there is some good going on, but the main writer is just not to my taste and the emotional resonance scenes that actually do pop up when I see ER in the header are being too much once in a blue moon for me. I might check in in a month to see if anything is going on for the anniversary episodes. And of course, I'll be around for Leslie's tribute. And we know I'll come running when Vanessa Marcil makes an appearance. But nothing going on here I want to see, and I always say that I'm not one for hatewatching. Moreso with BTG giving me more to chew on and DAYS about to have a set of new writers and I'll always for when new writers come on. Do feel free to tag me though when the Drew murder mystery starts, Michael returns, or any relevant Laura/Lulu/Lucky/Liz tidings. I might go see if there are clips around. My viewing is more than likely going to stop on Wednesday's episode since I want to see the fallout of the Brad/Lucas Miami scenes.

ALL: Grade February Sweeps 2025
Now that I FINALLY made it through all of February Sweeps. In order of interest...IMHO. BTG...A Yep. Kept its A lol. Even with beginning flaws, it was EVERYTHING. As I mentioned in the thread, it took the Warren Ellis approach of dropping audiences in and loved that it trusted my intelligence (and ability to google) to keep up. Acting was decent to flawless. Plot was interesting and (most important) moving...it even did GH's technique of 'quick cuts' one episode and did it BETTER. Dialogue was superb. Fashion and setting was on point. Best of all...FRIDAY CLIFFHANGERS (cliffhangers period)...ARE...BACK!!! Well done for one week. B&B...C- I know...shocking. But it honestly held my interest more than GH. And both show this Sweeps apparently thought it was smart to really start their story movement mid-month. UNLIKE GH though, I felt like it was cohesive and had a rhythm to it where several stories were going on. The main plot of Finn being Luna's father might have been an abrupt idea and the first half of the month was slow and full of the same conversation, but once it got going...I found the pacing intentionally slow vs just plain slow (again, looking at GH). TN did great with the revelation. Meanwhile, there were other stories going on with everyone wondering where Luna was, Luna/Remy's growing friendship, and of course Operation Carter which is silly but giving old school soap. And I'm counting down to the moment when Li finds out. And yes, I've already seen the next week clip. Y&R...B- And that grade is only on the basis of the Damian storyline and how it has splintered into several avenues beyond the main plot (Damian/Lily, Enter: Victor, the Holden reveal, Holden/Audra/Nate, the mystery that is Damian) of Amy wanting Nate to find his half brother because she's dying. It has surprisingly had reveals throughout that have been surprising. Where the show failed was the pacing of it which has been VERY haphazard. And when that story was not on, the rest of the show was boring as Hades. So much so...the curveball of a SAWque kidnapping tale for Sharon and Phyllis was...been there, done that and yes...BORING. GH...D For me, it's how the mighty have fallen. If any soap has schooled other soaps on a good February Sweeps, it was always GH. So I'm sad to see that the worst impulses of this show that I don't like (wacka wacka humor, cheap gimmicks, propped writing, agendas) completely overshadowed what the Sweeps should have been...the downfall of Cyrus. For months, the writing has been on the wall with what appeared to be an umbrella tale as Joss had his number on one side and Lucky/Liz having his number on the other. Screaming at a collision course. So the abrupt turns that the story took was maddening. And it was frustrating when the story took off mid-month and then was swiftly buried by a false accusation for Jason, the 'comedy' of Tracy vs Martin, and Joss as Sidney Bristow...wait...what? Yeeeah NO. The show has diven off the cliff so badly...honestly with BTG airing and DAYS about to get a new set of writers that I've more interested in, to quote one of my favorite characters Cordelia Chase...this is my off-ramp. At least until the forthcoming Leslie C. tribute. DAYS...not watching at the moment. Lol. Yeah, I found out by the Episode Count thread. It is. Hehe. Never change.

BTG: March 2025 Discussion Thread
I really liked yesterday's episode. I felt there were so many layers going on with all the characters and storylines that it was just such a feast for the eyes. And I liked that while Dani was in the episode, it felt like she was the C plot to the B plot and other C plots being the focus. I like that we are continuing to get some to see conflict with our gay couple. But lord, Martin is a complete and utter a$$hat. With that said, I just found it interesting how entitled and selfish he came across and the same could be said about Kat...though she's totally right about Eva. One can't help but side-eye Nicole a little bit who doesn't seem that way. Nor does Ted. Commentary on how when your black family make it easier on the next generation, the next generation is ungrateful. Time will tell. In any case, I loved that Smitty stood up for himself. As someone who have seen gay couples like that in the South (just flip the races), it resonated with me. I continued to like the Kat stuff. I did love that Chelesa called her out on how she acts with other people, going back to what I said about coming across entitled. I mean girl came for Eva's clothes on sight. And now she has walked in on Eva in the wrong place, wrong time. Add on her coming for Eva earlier in the episode, Kat vs Eva is giving for me. Now about Dani vs Hayley...lol. That also gave. Dani read her good and KM played that to the hilt while being softer. Because 'woman to woman, i'll settle for you' oooo that was soooo nice nasty good and well performed. And look at them starting to have more and more in common, too. Bill wants Hayley to immediately stop working...just like DANI. The ladies come to a truce. And who wants to keep it going...BILL at the end of the episode. Why? He can't let go. I loved M. Goins has been adding grit and backbone to Hayley's character since Monday making the character more of a inner strength (not weak either) character when people come for her. Then Andre/Dani...mmmmm. I love how unexpected that ending was. It seem like Dani was not even going to sleep with him again. And both of them went off to their own storylines during the episode. Only...to come back together at the end. Loved it. Nice cliffhangers at the end, too. Kat caught Eva. Bill is planning something. Chelesa getting it on with a couple while her mother is getting it on on some glass...good times. I would say since Monday, but it does seem to be heading that way. Yeah, I was happy for him and to see conflict for our gay couple. I was talking about Nosy Nurse. My favorite side character so far. And also was talking about how Andre is so into Dani that it's nice to see.

I know we are all on Brandon Clayborn's case, but THAT GUY....no, ma'am. Well two entitled if you count Kat. I find it interesting since Nicole herself does not come across entitled. Now you leave him and Victor Webster alone. 😜 You don't have to see it. More for me. 😜 They really can't. God bless them for that because they are hot.
