For those of you who have been following, I hope that my first 199 episodes have been able to capture some the love, lives, laughs, and losses that Another World brought you for 35 years.

And now, the 200th episode of my fanfic/blog,

    BACK TO ANOTHER WORLD

    Kelley Missal
    appears as Elizabeth Hutchins

    Carl reveals all to Rachel

    PART 1

    CORY MANSION

Someone rings the doorbell and Cory
    walks to the door.

Cory: Gosh why couldn’t my parents hire a maid?

He is surprised to see Elizbaeth at the door.

    Cory: Lizzie?

Elizabeth walks in with a bag.

Cory: Don’t you have a key?

Elizabeth: Well hello to you, too brother.

Cory: You didn’t tell anybody you were coming home?

Elizabeth: Dad called and asked me to. He’s throwing a dinner party.

Cory: Really? He didn’t tell me about that. What’s his deal anyway?

    Elizabeth: What do you mean?

Cory: Mom’s been worried about dad.

    Elizabeth: Where is mom anyway?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

    ROOM

    Suddenly, Rachel
    appears and walks in.

Rachel: Russ? Carl? What wishes are you two talking about?

    The two men stay silent.

Rachel: Russ it’s been years since I’ve seen you.

Russ: You’re still as beautiful as ever Rachel.

Rachel: Why is my husband hooked up to these tubes?

Russ: Maybe I...should leave you two alone. Carl, it’s time.

    Rachel: Time for what?

    Russ
walks out and shuts the door.

    Carl: Darling.

Rachel: It’s back isn’t it? The tumor’s back.

    Carl: Rachel…

Rachel: When we were on our way to Kirkland and Charlie’s wedding reception, you mentioned that...we took care of Perry. Perry’s been dead for almost thirty years, but the problem is that we never raised Perry. You also left your laptop open, too. I saw something about a transfer, and then an empty bottle of pills. It all made sense to me.

There’s an awkward silence, then Rachel kneels by Carl’s beside and pleads with him.

Rachel: Carl please...please tell me what’s going on? Tell me that I’m wrong about what I’m thinking.

Carl: About the tumor returning? No darling, unfortunately you’re correct. It’s back.

    CAMERA PAN ON CARL
    ...SLOW FADE TO THEME SONG.

    ----------------------------------------------------

    PART 2

Rachel gets up, turns toward the door, and momentarily covers her face with her hands, almost as if she’s lost her cool for a moment, but then re-gathers herself.

    Rachel: Not again.

Carl: Yes Rachel. I have been diagnosed with glioblastoma.

    Rachel takes a deep breath.

Rachel: That’s a very aggressive brain tumor.

    Carl: And it’s inoperable.

Rachel: What about a second opinion? Russ should have encouraged you to get one.

Carl: I saw the films. It’s there, and it’s growing more and more.

Rachel: There’s gotta some type of treatment we can try. Maybe we can to Europe.

Carl: Don’t you think I’ve tried that already? In St. Croix, where Evan, my son, was keeping me alive.

Rachel: We thought you were dead. Your son robbed us. He robbed Cory and Elizabeth.

Carl: He brought me back to you and our children.

Rachel: So are you telling me it just came back out of nowhere?

Carl: The doctors in St. Croix managed to shrink it, but it never truly went away.

Rachel: Was it the...neurotoxin that Janice gave you? Was that the cause of it growing again?

Carl: No that had nothing to do with it.

Rachel: Carl you’re accepting this. You’re accepting imminent death. Well I’m not going to.

Carl: We don’t have a choice. That’s why I’ve been...making things right...for all the terrible things that I’ve done.

Rachel: Making things right? Does this have something to do with the transfer?

CAMERA PAN ON CARL....SLOW FADE OUT

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

    PART 3

    Cass
puts wood in the fireplace and joins Frankie on the couch. Frankie then snuggles in Cass’s arms, and they both look at the fire.

Cass: Who thought we would need firewood this time of year?

Frankie: The universe is definitely acting strangely.

Cass: Is that what it told you?

    Frankie: Caaaass…

Cass: Okay okay I promise not to make fun of your sixth sense.

Frankie: Wouldn’t you agree with me though?

Cass: Things have been a bit off. Lindsay’s situation.

Frankie: And Carl. There’s something...weird about it.

    Cass: How so?

Frankie: The way he was talking to us. It was like...he was saying that time is running out for him or something.

    Cass: Yeah I...caught that, too.

Frankie: You know in a weird way Carl brought us together. I mean I...don’t condone anything he did to Kathleen, but you and I probably never would have met and fell in love.

    Cass: And had Charlie…

Frankie: We have him to thank for the life we’ve got. Who’da thought he’d turn out to be my father.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    Carl: The transfer?

Rachel: I saw it on your laptop. What was it about?

Carl: I paid them off. Their final payment.

Rachel: Paid off who? I don’t understand.

Carl: Remember in 1996, when I went to Chicago?

    Rachel: Yes.

Carl: Well I never went to Chicago. I went to Washington, D.C.

    Rachel: Why?

Carl: I turned over evidence to the feds of the impropriety at Charter Elm. Mostly caused by Lucas when he was working for me. He made a lot of enemies. The evidence did not convict everyone. The ones that were left were threatening…

Rachel: Oh my God, they were threatening Cory and Elizabeth? Were they in any danger?

Carl: No. They were threatening Lucas’s grandson.

Rachel: Grandson? Did Jenna have a child?

    Carl: No, but Lorna did.

Rachel: Lorna? Felicia never mentioned a grandchild.

    Carl: Because she doesn’t know.

Rachel: Carl you’re not making any sense right now. Why does this concern you? Why were you paying Lucas’s enemies off? Wait a minute. Is that who you were talking on the phone to yesterday?

Carl: I told Lorna it was safe now. As soon as he entered the world, he was in danger. I had to protect him. I had to protect my son.

Rachel: Your son? Oh my God. You and Lorna had a son?

Carl: Devin Lucas Hutchins. I had Lorna put him into hiding before she came to Bay City the first time.

Rachel: After all these years, you couldn’t trust me enough to tell me about him.

Carl: It wasn’t a matter of trust my dear. If I told you, you would’ve been in danger. Of course I couldn’t do that to you, your children, or ours.

    Rachel sighs.

Rachel: Is there anything else you want to tell me?

Carl: I’m having a dinner party. That’s when I’m gonna to announce to all of our family and friends. I was going to tell you first.

Rachel: People are gonna be devastated. Paulina, Vicky, Donna. You’ve had a positive impact on their lives.

Rachel: I can’t believe this is happening again. We’re going to lose you all over again.

Rachel sits on the bed next to Carl.

Carl: You will have all of your family and friends to support you. Russ will be there, too.

Rachel: After everything we went through to be together; after all the opposition.

    Carl: The pursuit.

    Rachel (chuckling): Yes...New York.

    Carl: I came after you…

    Rachel: Relentlessly.

Carl: I had to be with you. You made me a better person. After everything I had done to you and Mackenzie, I’m still amazed that you fell in love with me.

Rachel: That’s why Amanda was so against our marriage.

    Carl: I understood it.

Rachel: Iris tried to kill you.

Carl: But she failed to separate us.

Rachel: But your brain tumor will...this time.

Carl puts his hand on Rachel’s chest.

Carl: Not even death will separate us. Our love will be there.

    Rachel: In my heart.

    Rachel leans on Carl’s lap.

Carl: Our love will never die.

    ANOTHER WORLD 201

    Carl comes home

    Written by: C. Nathaniel Richardson

    HOSPITAL OUTSIDE OF BAY CITY

    Russ Matthews
is removing Carl’s I.V. as he and Rachel prepare to leave. Rachel is off in a close corner by herself. Russ joins her. Rachel doesn’t face him.

    Russ: Are you okay?

Rachel: I just found out my husband is dying. As well as can be expected I guess.

    Russ: I’m so sorry Rachel.

Rachel turns around and sighs nervously.

Rachel: It’s not your fault. I’m sure you did everything you could to save him.

Russ: We did. I just wanted to make him comfortable.

Rachel: These are Carl’s last days. I will make them as comfortable for him as possible. Thank you for everything.

    Russ turns toward Carl.

Russ: So I’ll see you here next week.

Carl turns Russ’s attentions to something on the bed.

Russ: You removed your chemo port.

Carl: No. We won’t be returning to this facility.

Russ shakes his head in pensive agreement.

Russ: So you two are headed back home?

Carl: Yes. Did you get the invite?

    Russ: Your dinner party?

Rachel: He’s gonna make the announcement there.

Russ: I’m not too sure if I should.

Rachel: We’d really like you to be there.

    Russ: Bay City’s my home.

Carl: I’ve got a question for you Dr. Matthews. A friend of ours had a brain injury in an accident.

    Rachel: You’re talking about Michele?

Russ: I read about that in the Herald.

Carl: Yes. Maybe you could examine her? She couldn’t read.

Russ: She may not need to.

    Carl: What are you saying?

Russ: Any cognitive functions she learned before the injury that she lost should return.

Rachel: She was devastated when she learned she couldn’t read, so you’re saying that it will just...come back?

Russ: No doubt in my mind.

Rachel goes to Carl and puts her hands on Carl’s shoulders.

    Rachel: Are you ready?

Carl: We have to tell the children.

    ---------------------------------------

    CORY MANSION

    Elizabeth
walks downstairs and encounters Cory on his cell phone in the foyer.

Cory: You’re not feeling well. Can I bring you something? Chicken soup? What am I thinking? You’ve got maid service at the Love Mansion. Feel better.

Cory hangs up and sees Elizabeth.

    Elizabeth: I can’t believe it.

    Cory: What do you mean?

Elizabeth: You’re dating that scheming lying bitch Bridget.

    Cory: Not now Lizzie.

Cory walks into the foyer and Elizabeth follows.

Elizabeth: After everything she did to break you and Michele up, you’re turning around and dating her. I guess she got what she wanted.

Cory plops on the couch and Elizabeth sits on the chair across from the couch.

Cory: She’s not that kind of person anymore.

    Elizabeth: She will never change.

Cory: She felt bad about everything and it took her a long time to forgive herself.

Elizabeth: And let me guess, she leaned on you, and cried on your shoulder. As long as you all thought Michele was dead, she turned on the waterworks, and told you how bad she felt about what happened to her sister. Does that about sum it up?

Cory: I don’t care what you think of Bridget. I like her and I’m gonna date her whether you like it or not. I mean even Michele said she was cool with it.

    Elizabeth purses her lips.

Cory: Come on Lizzie. Can we talk about something else?

Elizabeth: No we can’t. That skank has got you in her clutches. She was so jealous of her sister. Michele was headed for big things, and to have it all just taken away on prom night because of Bridget.

Cory: Michele has been through a lot.

Elizabeth: No kidding, and you think she’s gonna come back and be cool with you dating her sister.

    Cory: That’s what she said.

Elizabeth: And you think she means that?

    Cory: Lizzie…

Elizabeth: You really can’t be that stupid. I bet she’s mad as hell. I sure would be.

    -----------------------------------------------

    AT THE MCKINNONS

    Vicky
opens the front door as Michele comes downstairs and manages to stop her.

    Michele: Mom.

    Vicky: Hey honey.

    Michele: Where are you headed?

Vicky: I was gonna see your Aunt Marley.

Michele: I was there the other day.

    Vicky: How was she?

Michele: She’s hanging in there. I know she’s ready to deliver little Roman.

Vicky: Aren’t we all. I wanna spoil my nephew. So happy she’s having a baby.

Michele: You know she talked to me...about what happened between you and her before I was born.

Vicky sighs as if she’s recalling those events in her mind.

Vicky: When she locked me in the basement of the Love Mansion.

Michele: Yeah that, but I don’t know why everyone’s so afraid that I’m gonna do the same thing to Bridget. I’m not gonna do that.

Vicky: That was a tough time for all of us honey.

Michele: I...I didn’t mean to bring up bad memories. If you don’t wanna talk about it…

Vicky puts her hands on Michele’s shoulders and looks into her eyes.

Vicky: It’s perfectly fine honey. We went through a lot, and even after that we got close again. We’re twins. We’re sisters. We will always love each other, and that’s why I know that you would never hurt your sister. Well I gotta get going so…I’ll see ya.

Vicky turns around and there’s Jake
    .

CAMERA PAN ON JAKE...SLOW FADE TO THEME SONG

    ---------------------------------

    PART 2

    Vicky: Uh...hi.

    Jake: Hey.

    Vicky: How’s Lindsay?

    Jake: She’s okay.

Vicky: Are you coming to get the rest of your things?

Jake: That and...to see our daughter.

Vicky: Hmm I wonder if I should stick around.

Michele: Oh come on you two aren’t gonna start arguing are you?

Vicky: No I just don’t want him accusing you of things that you clearly aren’t responsible for.

Jake: I didn’t come to talk about that. Vicky can you leave us alone...please?

Vicky: You call me if you need anything.

    Michele: Sure mom.

Vicky leaves, and Jake shuts the door.

    -------------

Outside the door, Vicky is interrupted by a text on her phone.

Vicky (reading): You are cordially invited to a celebration...at the Corys?

    ------------------

    Meanwhile, back inside…

Michele: What did you come here for dad?

Jake: I don’t wanna argue with you.

Michele: No you’re just gonna accuse me wanting to hurt Bridget.

Jake: No, not at all. Come here. Let’s sit down.

Michele and Jake sit on the couch next to each other. Jake takes a deep breath as he looks into his daughter’s eyes.

Jake: You and Bridget changed my life.

Michele: Don’t most parents say that?

Jake: I used to be a two bit con artist, and a blackmailer. I used whoever I could to get what I wanted.

    Michele: Blackmail?

    Jake: I blackmailed Paulina.

Michele: Paulina is one of the sweetest people I know. Why did you do that to her?

Jake: You remember when we told you about Mac Cory right?

Michele: Yeah Amanda and Matt’s dad.

Jake: Paulina had just to come Bay City to claim her place in the Cory family, right after Mac died. She was due a huge inheritance, and I wanted a piece of it, so I held something over her head.

    Michele: And that was?

    Jake: She shot me.

Michele: And instead of going to the police you blackmailed her? That’s gross dad.

Jake: That’s the kind of guy I used to be, but when your mother and I learned she was pregnant with you and Bridget, I changed. I wasn’t going to be that person anymore. After you were born; watching you play together; dress alike; go to the prom, I will never be that guy again, because of you and Bridget.

Michele: Dad I really appreciate the history lesson but is there a point to all of this?

Jake: It pains me to see you and your sister at each other’s throats.

Michele: But you’re here talking to me instead of her.

Jake: It’s not lost on me what she did to you.

Michele: To you, Bridget can do no wrong, and that’s all does.

Jake: You’ll understand when you have kids.

Michele: Bridget started this whole damn thing with her jealousy.

Jake: She missed you when you were gone.

Michele: She used her guilt to reel in Cory.

Jake: And she’s still your sister, and you love each other. Stop this feud. If you’re angry about what she did---

Michele: Yeah yeah go see a doctor. Talk to Steven.

Jake: I love all of you. You, your sisters and your brothers. None of us want you and Bridget to be fighting.

Michele turns toward the mantle and crosses her arms.

Michele: You’re right dad...none of us do. None of us wanted Bridget to hide my college acceptance letter; none of us wanted her to steal vodka out of grandpa Reginald’s cabinet; none of us wanted her to spike Cory’s punch to get him drunk; none of us wanted Gregory’s car to hit me and cause my brain injury!

Michele turns back around and faces her father.

Jake: You talked to your Aunt Marley right?

Michele: OMG can anything stay a secret in this family?

Jake: We all went through that and we are seeing it all over again with you and Bridget.

Michele: For the last time I’m not gonna lock Bridget in a basement!

Jake: That’s not what I’m saying.

Michele: Yes I’m angry, but it happened a long time ago. Bridget is not that girl anymore, and I’m working on forgiving her. I mean you didn’t expect me to just come back and everything was gonna be great.

Jake: No, but it’s still there. You need to talk to somebody about it. Look, can you at least think about it? You can’t walk around with this anger.

    Michele nods her head.

Michele: You know what I’ll...I’ll think about it.

Jake: I need all of my kids to get along.

Michele: Speaking of which, I’m gonna go see my big sister soon.

Jake: Lindsay’s gonna need all of our support.

Their phones chime about a second apart. Michele gets her phone off of the coffee table and Jake looks at his.

Jake: What this? Party at the Corys.

    Michele picks up her phone.

Michele: Is that what it says? Because I…

Michele looks at her phone is able to read the text. She smiles with surprise, then quickly returns her look to regular.

Michele: Cory’s dad is throwing a dinner party. I wonder what for.

    -------------------------------------------------

Cory: Well I believe her when she said she was cool with me and Bridget.

Elizabeth: You all turned a blind eye to what Bridget did. All that crap that she pulled isn’t lost on Michele.

Cory: Why are you so determined to think the worst about Bridget? She’s not that kind of person anymore.

Elizabeth: Because she’s not gonna change. She wanted you, and she got you, and she’ll probably do anything she needs to do to keep you.

Suddenly, Cory and Elizabeth’s attentions are grabbed by someone at the living room doors.

    (Play this song
on low as you read the following scene)

    Carl: My darling daughter.

    Elizabeth: Dad!

Elizabeth runs up to Carl and hugs him, but after the embrace, she looks into his face, noticing a bit of a pale complexion.

Elizabeth: You look tired, your face...no...no not again.

Rachel enters and closes the double doors to the living room.

Elizabeth: Mom please tell me this isn’t…

Rachel: I think you two need to sit down. We have to talk to you.

As the CAMERA PANS slowly away from the living room, showing the four of them through the glass doors, Rachel and Carl tell the children that Carl’s brain tumor has returned, and that it’s inoperable this time. Elizabeth covers her face and cries. Cory shakes his in disbelief. The four gather around and hug, with Carl in the middle.

    ANOTHER WORLD 202

    Kirkland confronts Christy

    PART 1

Lindsay Hartley’s first episode as Maggie Winthrop.

    BAY CITY GENERAL

John Hudson is in his office on his computer, and he’s video chatting/interviewing with a candidate...Maggie Winthrop.

John: You’ve come a long way. I have to say, it will be strange calling you Dr. Maggie Winthrop.

Maggie: It’s strange myself. I didn’t know I had it in me. After things with Rafael and I didn’t work out, I decided to go to school. This has been so fulfilling.

John: I read your resume. Johns Hopkins huh?

Maggie: Yep. I made it through.

John: What made you change your name?

    Maggie: Cecile.

    John: I’ve heard the stories.

Maggie: Yeah either I’m Sandy Cory or Cass Winthrop. It usually depends on how she’s feeling and what she’s after.

John: And what day of the week it is.

    They both laugh.

John: I don’t see a reason why we can’t have you on board. As far as I’m concerned you’re hired.

Maggie: Means a lot coming from the Chief of Staff.

    John: Acting Chief of Staff.

    Maggie: Oh.

John: I had to apply for the position just like anybody else. Well I will email you the paperwork and just email it back and I’ll forward it to H.R. Welcome aboard.

Maggie: Great thank you. I will need a couple of weeks to get my things to Bay City.

John: Fair enough. I’ll be sure to let H.R. know that.

    Maggie: Thanks Dr. Hudson.

John: You’re very welcome Dr. Winthrop.

John ends the video chat and Sharlene gently. Her knock opens the door and she peeks in.

Sharlene: Oh I’m sorry if I’m interrupting.

John: No...no you’re never an interruption. I’m happy to see you, but I am surprised.

Sharlene: Did you talk to Gregory? He left the house kind of quick earlier.

John: No, but it’s a safe bet that he went to see Lindsay.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    STACEY’S APARTMENT

Stacey, fully dressed, walks into the living room, and sees Lindsay curled up wearing her pink pajamas and a pillow watching television.

Stacey: I’m headed to the office for a short while. I was wondering if you wanted to...meet me afterwards.

Lindsay doesn’t flinch, and continues to stare at the television.

    Lindsay: No.

Stacey: We could get those frozen yogurt pops that you like.

Lindsay: No thanks mom. I’m just gonna stay here.

Stacey: We could have mother daughter time like we used to.

Lindsay: I really don’t feel like it.

Stacey: Ok umm...if you need me I’ll be at the office.

    Lindsay: I know the number.

    Stacey: I love you honey.

Stacey kisses her daughter on the forehead and straddles her hair. She sighs with worry and walks out the door. Gregory walks up to her outside the apartment.

Stacey: Gregory I...didn’t know you were coming.

    Gregory: Hey uh...how’s Lindsay?

    Stacey purses her lips.

Stacey: Not unexpected. Go in and see.

Stacey opens the door and Gregory sees Lindsay staring at the TV, curled up in her pink pajamas with her pillow.

    Gregory: Hey.

    Lindsay looks at Gregory.

    ---------------------------------------------------------

    CHRISTY’S SUITE

Christy returns and shuts the door, then she has a flashback...

    (EPISODE 197)

Christy: I thought we were past this.

Eric: Everybody looks at me like I got some kind of disease. Allen Love told his daughter to stay away from me because of what you decided we should do.

Christy: Honey I didn’t mean for any of that to happen. I just…

Eric: Wanted to push your own agenda. Whatever it is you’re trying to do, I don’t want any part of it.

She sighs in a bit of sadness, then she has another flashback...

Felicia: Your shenanigans have alienated your own son. You should do us all a favor and leave Bay City.

Christy: You know what Felicia you’re becoming a reeeeeal problem.

Felicia: Is that a veiled threat? I’m not afraid of you Christy. As long as I draw breath, I’m not gonna let you hurt anyone I care about.

Christy: Are you talking about Cass and Mary Frances?

Felicia: If you come after them, or anyone else I love, you will answer to me.

    Felicia leaves...and Christy watches.

Christy: Time to get Felicia out of the way.

She flashes back to the present, puts her key on the dresser, and sits at her desk. Someone rings the doorbell. After she opens the door, Grant barges in.

Christy: To what do I owe this visit?

Grant: You owe me a lot more than that. I gotta talk to you.

    Christy sighs in slight exasperation.

Christy: You’ve gotta talk to me. Let me guess...it’s about Paulina.

Grant: You won’t believe what I saw.

Christy: And what exactly did you see?

Grant: I went to her house with the jump drive.

Christy: You showed her what was on it?

    Grant: I didn’t get a chance to.

    Christy: Why not?

Grant: Because I saw her with Jack Snyder, and they weren’t playing solitaire.

Christy: Aww little miss muffet was making love to the detective?

    Grant: This isn’t funny.

Christy: You act like you’ve lost.

    Grant: I probably have.

Christy: You have enough evidence on that jump drive to break them up for good.

Grant: Oh believe me, I’m going to use it.

Grant suddenly gets a text on his cell phone, and subsequently.

Grant: A party? At the Corys?

Christy: You’re invited to a party at the Corys? The universe must be spinning off of its axis.

    ----------------------------------------------

MEANWHILE, at Kirkland’s suite, Kirkland looks at his phone, then Charlie looks at hers.

Kirkland: That’s weird. We got a text at the same time.

Charlie: It’s an invite to the Corys.

Kirkland: That’s what I got. Wonder what the occasion is.

Charlie: I guess we won’t know until we get there. Hey do you wanna meet up later?

Kirkland: I’m gonna stop at my dad’s for a quick second.

Charlie: Oh okay...well I’m gonna head out.

She kisses Kirkland on his lips.

    Charlie: See ya later.

After Charlie leaves. Kirkland has a flashback…

    (EPISODE 190)

Kirkland: Dad what is she doing here?

    Grant: Can’t I be charitable?

Kirkland: Charity? So you just gave this woman, who tormented Charlie’s parents, a place to live?

Grant: Are you saying that I am not giving? I’ll have you know that I give to a lot of organizations.

Kirkland: Yeah, especially to the ones that you can get a big tax write off for.

Grant: Did you learn comedy on your honeymoon?

Kirkland: Dad you never answered my question? What is Christy Carson doing here? I noticed you two made eye contact when she showed up uninvited at Tops.

Grant: Son I can’t get into that right now.

Kirkland: Come on dad. Are we gonna go down this road again? I read that her parole was denied. After that she gets out, and now she’s living here. What’s going on?

Grant: She’s....helping me to get Paulina back.

Kirkland: Are you on that again? Why would Christy help you to do that?

Kirkland flashes back to the present.

Kirkland: I’m gonna find out why.

    PART 2

Grant: You won’t be joking so much when I have Paulina.

    Christy: Ha!

Grant: And how’s your quest for Cass going?

Christy: Who says I’m trying to get Cass?

Grant: Christy come on. This is me you’re talking to. The only reason you stayed in Bay City is to get Cass...or get something from Cass.

Christy: Wow it’s amazing how often you’re wrong. Maybe you should use one of your lifelines to get the correct answer.

Grant: You stayed in Bay City because you want something from Cass. Hmmm I wonder what that is.

Christy: You stick to your plan, and I’ll stick to mine okay.

Grant: It’s got something to do with where you went right after I got the governor to pardon you.

Christy: Don’t you have some place else to be? Like getting Miss Muffet in your arms?

Grant: Oooh I’m getting warm aren’t I? Just where did you go Mrs. Carson?

Christy gets a reminder on her phone...and it has a date highlighted.

Christy: Wouldn’t you like to know?

    Grant: You know my secrets.

    Christy: No I don’t.

Grant: You think I’m going to blackmail you don’t you?

Christy: Grant I’m not afraid of your blackmail. My poker game is flawless, and I will play my trump card if I have to. Don’t take me there Harrison.

Grant: Well I need to go.

Christy: Thank God, although I can imagine what you’re going to do.

Grant: Work, that’s what I have to do.

Christy purses her lips as if she doesn’t believe him as Grant leaves. Christy doesn’t shut the door, and makes a phone call.

Christy: Did you find her? The day is getting close...and I’m gonna get what I want.

Christy turns around and there is Kirkland...standing at the door.

Christy: Kirkland...what are you doing here?

Kirkland: I’m gonna get to the point. What’s going on between you and my dad?

    Christy: And that’s your point?

Kirkland: Something’s not right. Why did my dad call in a favor to pardon you?

Christy: Didn’t you ask me this before?

Kirkland: You and your son showed up uninvited to my wedding reception after my dad helped you get out of prison.

Christy: And I apologized for that. What do you want me to do? Write it in blood?

Kirkland: It still wouldn’t be sincere.

Christy: Listen. It was in poor taste what I did, and again, I am sorry. I’m not sure what you want me to tell you.

Kirkland: My dad is paying for this suite isn’t he? You can’t afford this.

Christy: Now you know how much money I have?

Kirkland: Is my dad helping you to get back and Cass and Frankie? I’m not gonna let you do anything to hurt Charlie’s parents.

Christy: Ohhh aren’t you the dutiful son-in-law. I have no intention of hurting Cass or Mary-Frances.

Kirkland: You’re up to something, and I’m gonna find out what it is.

    Kirkland leaves.

Christy: Time to play my trump card...Kirkland.

    --------------------------

Sharlene: I really feel for her.

John: Yeah she’s so young, and she can’t have children, but we saved her life.

Sharlene: That’s the most important thing.

    There’s a silence and Sharlene interjects…

Sharlene: I got a text from Carl.

John: About a party at the Corys. I did, too. Come on Sharlene, something tells me that you didn’t come all the way up here to ask me about Gregory or talk about a text message.

Sharlene: You’re right. I was hoping we could talk. John: Is everything okay?

Sharlene: Well that depends on you.

    John: Me?

Sharlene: I’ve been doing a lot of thinking, and I...I wanna try.

    John: Try what?

    Sharlene: Working things out.

John smiles, gets up from his chair, and approaches his wife.

John: Do you know how long I’ve waited to hear those words? I’d absolutely love to.

    They embrace warmly.

    ------------------------------------

Gregory and Lindsay are awkwardly silent, as Gregory really doesn’t know what to say.

    Gregory: Um...can I getcha anything?

Lindsay: What are you gonna get me?

Gregory: I dunno. Are ya hungry? Or just some company?

Lindsay: How about a uterus? Can you get me that? Because I don’t have one, and I can’t have children. So excuse me if I’m a little pissed about that.

    Gregory: I understand…

Lindsay: Oh so you’ve had your uterus removed!

Gregory: They had to save your life.

Lindsay: I can’t have children Gregory! Do you wanna be with a woman who can’t have your children? Is that what you really want?

Gregory: I love you for you, not for what you can give me. I don’t care about that.

    Lindsay: You say that now.

Gregory: Lindsay don’t do this. Let me be here for you.

Gregory goes to touch Lindsay, but she turns away from him.

    Lindsay: Can you leave please?

    Gregory: Lindsay---

Lindsay: I’ll...I’ll call you. I just need to...be alone right now.

Lindsay tries to hold it together as Gregory goes to the door. After he leaves, she leans her back against the door and slinks down to the floor, crying.

Cass is holding Frankie as they both stare at the fireplace.

Cass: It’s crazy how that turned out.

Frankie: Then Kathleen came back from the dead.

Cass: Go ahead and say it.

    Frankie: Say what?

    Cass: I waffled.

Frankie: See I wasn’t even thinking that.

    Cass: Surrrre you weren’t.

Frankie: You chose us, and I’m grateful.

Cass: Aww how sappy of you. You must want something.

Frankie turns around to face Cass, and smiles.

Frankie: Hmm and what do you think that might be?

    Cass: You’ve seen it before.

Frankie: It? Sounds like a repeat of a TV show.

Cass: It’s way more entertaining than that. In fact, it’s a must see.

    Frankie: Is that right?

Cass: It’s a modern 2015 show, so it’s very interactive.

    Frankie: Hmmm.

    Cass: Requires your full participation.

They kiss while each of their cell phones vibrate.

    CORY MANSION

Matt is in the living room talking on his cell phone.

Matt: What is it now? I’m gonna talk to Lila first before I buy that for you. Jasmine we’ve been over this.

Carl walks in and smiles, unseen by Matt as Matt continues...

You forgot that your mother told me that you wrecked her car, and don’t try to call mom or Mitch. I’ve already told them that you’d try to ask them to buy you a car. Jasmine?

Matt looks at the phone and realizes that Jasmine hung up on him.

Carl: Ahh the joys of being a parent.

    Matt: Especially when they’re eighteen.

Carl: Just like your brother and sister.

    Matt: How’s it going?

Carl: I’m at peace. I’m home with my family.

Matt: Well I’m gonna head to the office.

Carl: Wait, Matthew, before you go. May I talk to you?

Matt: I haven’t got a lot of time Carl. I really gotta get back.

    Carl: I want to apologize.

    Matt: For what?

Carl: The things I did to your father...and your mother.

    ---------------------------

    BAY CITY CENTER

Rachel sits at a table seemingly staring into space and she flashes back.

    (EPISODE 200)

Rachel: Carl please...please tell me what’s going on? Tell me that I’m wrong about what I’m thinking.

Carl: About the tumor returning? No darling, unfortunately you’re correct. It’s back.

Rachel flashes back to the present, looks up and sees Amanda.

    Amanda: Mom are you okay?

Rachel: I’m glad you’re here. Please sit.

Amanda puts her purse on the chair, and sits looking straight at Rachel.

    Amanda: Mom what’s going on?

Rachel: There’s something I...need to tell you.

    -----------------------

Matt: Carl you don’t have to apologize for that anymore. It happened over twenty five years ago.

Carl: I’m grateful to have been part of your lives. I never tried to take Mackenzie’s place in your life, but I’m glad I was able to be here when I was.

Matt (chuckling nervously): Carl you’re talking in past tense what’s going on?

Carl: I wanted to tell...all of the children before the party.

    Matt: Tell us what?

    Carl: I’m dying.

    Matt: You’re what?

    Carl: The tumor’s returned.

    -------------------------

Amanda: Oh my God mom. I don’t know what to say. I’m so sorry.

Rachel: Thank you honey. We wanted to tell all the children before the party.

    Amanda: A party.

Rachel: Carl is throwing a party at the house to announce it to everyone.

Amanda: Mom is there anything I can do for you?

Rachel: Just look out for your little brother and sister.

Amanda: Oh...Cory and Elizabeth. Did you…?

    Rachel: We told them.

Amanda: They must be so devastated.

    -------------------------

Matt: I’ll do everything I can to help Cory and Elizabeth. I know what it’s like to lose a father.

Carl: I know. You’re very strong young man. I want you to instill some of that in Cory. I can at least take comfort in the fact that Cory and Elizabeth will have their family, especially their brother and sisters. I hate having to leave my children. You, Matthew, are so great with Jasmine. Tell her how much you love her, as often as you can. You really don’t know how long you have left on this earth.

    -------------------------

Amanda: Mom you’re going through this again.

Rachel: You know at least this time I...can prepare for it. With your father it was unexpected.

    Amanda: The plane crash.

Rachel: This time it’s a bit different, but no less painful. Guess you can never really be prepared for something like this. Carl’s going to die, and there’s nothing I can do about it.

Amanda looks at Rachel not knowing what to say, and suddenly Iris approaches them.

Iris: Did I hear you right? Carl’s dying?

Rachel and Amanda both roll their eyes as if they didn’t want Iris to know this soon.

    PART 2

Cass and Frankie lie in bed.

Cass: Hmm how did you like that program?

Frankie: It’s one of those shows that I enjoy seeing over and over again, and interacting with.

Cass: Sounds like you’re ready for another showing.

Frankie: So it’s a two parter?

    Cass: You’re such a smart...viewer.

Frankie: I’m gonna be doing more than watching.

Their cell phones continue to vibrate and they stop.

Cass: Ugh let’s check our phones.

Frankie: You’re right. It’s getting on my nerves.

They check their text messages and Frankie becomes concerned while Cass smiles.

    Cass: Mine is from Maggie.

    Frankie: Oh...um how is she?

Cass: She’s coming to Bay City. She got a job at the hospital.

    Frankie: That’s...that’s wonderful.

    Cass: Frankie what’s wrong?

Frankie: Carl wants to see me as soon as possible. Cass I got a bad feeling about this.

    -------------------------------------------------

Matt: I know we’ve had our differences, but I can’t deny the fact that you made my mother very happy, and you allowed her to love again after dad died.

Carl: I love your mother with all of my being.

Matt: It took me a while to see that.

    Carl: I understand.

Matt: My mom’s gonna be a mess, or at least inside she is.

Carl: You know your mother well don’t you?

Matt: She’s gonna act like she’s dealing. She’s gonna try to be the strong one for Cory and Elizabeth.

Carl: I can see her now trying to comfort everyone else.

Matt: When she’s the one who’s gonna need the most comforting.

Carl: You’ve always been a dutiful son to her.

Matt: And that’s not gonna change now. She’s had so much loss. Dad, grandma and now you. How is she ever gonna deal with this?

    ---------------------------------

Amanda: I’m gonna go call Alli. I’ll be right back mom.

Rachel: Yes Iris. Carl is dying.

    Iris: Rachel I’m so sorry.

Rachel: I’m sure that you are.

Iris: I’m being serious. You’ve had a lot of loss in your life.

    Rachel: Thanks for reminding me.

Iris: Listen I know that we’ve been on opposite sides of the spectrum, and I have never been Carl’s biggest fan, but I never would wish that on you, or Cory. Poor Cory, he’s gonna be so hurt, and what about Elizabeth?

Rachel: Don’t worry about my children. I will take care of them.

Iris: I know given our history you have a hard time believing me, but you forgot that I lost Dennis’s father.

    Rachel: Alex Wheeler.

Iris: He’s really the only man I’ve ever loved; so much that I gave him a child. That was such a painful time for me, and then daddy. Especially after what I was trying to do.

    Rachel: Yes I remember.

Iris’s eyes start to well up.

Iris: You made me tell daddy the truth, and when I did, he was so angry with me.

    Rachel: Understandably.

Iris: I betrayed him. I hurt him badly. I was The Chief. I was the one trying to take over Cory Publishing.

    Rachel begins to soften up.

Rachel: But you...and Mac patched things up.

Iris: Yes we did, and it was the last conversation I had with him before he died. So you see Rachel, if it weren’t for you; if you hadn’t made me tell daddy that I was The Chief, we never would have worked things out. Losing Alex and daddy were the most painful experiences in my life, and I don’t wish that pain; that hurt; that loss...on anybody. Not you...not anyone. Iris wipes tears from her face and gets up.

Rachel: Iris…thank you. I’d appreciate it if you don’t tell anyone about Carl yet.

As Iris is walking away, she answers a call on her cell phone.

Iris: Hi. I’m fine. Sounds like you’re on a plane, are you on your way to Bay City? I’ll see you when you get here. There’s something I need to tell you.

    -------------------------------------

    PRIVATE PLANE

A guy hangs up the phone and looks out the window. Meanwhile, Lorna Devon comes out from behind the curtain and sits across from him.

Lorna: What are you thinking about?

Guy: I haven’t seen dad in years.

Lorna: Well, Devin Lucas, you’ll also get to meet my mother.

Devin Lucas: Hope she’s not like my grandfather.

Lorna: You’re gonna love Felicia, just like she’s gonna love you.

    ALLEN’S OFFICE...Allen makes a call from the landline phone…

Allen: Hey uh it’s me Allen. I was hoping to talk to you but I thought I would just leave you a message. I was hoping we could grab some lunch or something. I’d like to talk to you. Hope I hear from you soon.

Amanda knocks on the door as Allen hangs up the phone.

    Amanda: Are you okay?

Allen: Yeah...uh yeah I was just leaving a message for K.C.

Amanda: It’s sweet of you to reach out to her.

Allen: She’s my daughter. I gotta try.

    ------------------------------------------------

AT THE CENTER...Toni is walking as K.C. approaches her.

    Toni: Hey what’s up?

K.C.: Did you give him my phone number?

Toni: Can you at least say hello before you ask questions? Who are you talking about?

K.C.: You know who I’m talkin’ about. Your ex-husband.

Toni (sighs): He is your father.

K.C.: And what is that supposed to mean?

Toni: You know you’re not always gonna have me and you’re not always gonna have mama.

K.C.: At least you could have asked me. I’m not ready for all that. He’s calling me leaving me messages.

Toni: He’s trying to reach out to you. Maybe you should give him a chance.

    K.C.: So whatchu doin’ anyway?

Toni: Headed to the office. You?

K.C. looks over at the coffee shop doors and smiles.

K.C.: I’m going to get some coffee.

    --------------------------------------------------------

MEANWHILE, INSIDE THE COFFEE SHOP, Charlie waits and Eric brings a cup.

    Eric: Caramel latte? Extra shot?

    Charlie: Yep that’s mine.

    Eric: Okay…

The two just look at each other.

Charlie: Eric...wait. I need to say something to you.

Eric quietly perks up but subdues himself.

    Eric: What is it?

Charlie: The last time I was here, I saw you and your mother argue. It wasn’t your idea to crash my reception.

    Eric: No it wasn’t.

Charlie: She put you up to it.

Eric: I don’t know what my mother’s thinking these days.

Charlie: Well I’m not mad at you about it.

Kirkland suddenly walks up to them and gets in front of Charlie.

Kirkland: You stay the hell away from my wife you understand?

    Charlie: Kirkland?

Kirkland: This guy and his mother are up to no good. Stay away from them.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    CHRISTY’S SUITE

Christy opens the door and a woman walks in.

Christy: Brianna Jameson. Come on in. Did anyone see you?

    Brianna: No.

Brianna takes a vial out of her pocket that has a powdery substance in it.

Brianna: This should accomplish what you want where Felicia Blake is concerned.

Christy: I hope for your sake it does, because you sure don’t want anyone knowing who you really are.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

AT THE BLAKE’S...Mitch is dressed in a gray suit, and Felicia walks out of their bedroom with a hat that fits her head perfectly, a matching off white blouse and dress pants.

Mitch: My my don’t you look beautiful. We should do date night more often.

    Felicia: I agree.

Allen puts his arms around Amanda’s waist and looks into her eyes.

Allen: It sure is good to see you though.

    Amanda: Can you...hold me?

    Allen: Sure. Sure. Everything alright.

Amanda: I just...need to feel your arms around me.

Allen embraces Amanda and she leans into his chest.

Amanda: Just so much going on with Cory Productions.

Allen: That company’s always in peril.

Amanda: We lost a very big deal. We were really hoping to land this contract.

    Allen: What was it?

    Amanda: Felicia.

    Allen: Really? What happened?

Amanda: We made her an offer to make movies out of three of her books.

Allen: Wow. Why did things fall through?

Amanda: Because your boss came in with a more lucrative offer.

    Allen: Sorry to hear that.

Amanda: I mean Iris blew us out of the water with what she was offering Felicia. With all the maneuvering of the numbers we still couldn’t match. I can’t blame her for going with Iris’s deal. It made me wonder why Iris went to such great lengths to pull the rug out from under us.

Allen: I don’t know for sure what’s going on, but I can speculate on one big Cory Productions reason.

Amanda: I realized that. It’s kind of why I’m here. To see your strong handsome face...and to talk to Iris.

    Iris walks in.

Iris: Allen I need you to...Amanda. What are you doing here?

Amanda: I need to talk to you in your office.

Iris looks at Allen, and then back at Amanda.

Iris: Well...anything you need to say to me you can say in front of Allen. So what is it?

Allen: Amanda told me about the swoop down you did of Felicia’s movie deal.

Iris: Yes I certainly did. It was a beautiful coup.

Amanda: And Cory Productions took a big hit. The board is concerned.

    Iris: Oh that lovely board.

Amanda: I went to them after Felicia went with KBAY Productions.

Iris: And uh...what did they tell you?

Amanda: They suggested waving the white flag.

    Iris: Sell the company?

Amanda: Yes, but I had a better idea. I’m not selling daddy’s company.

Iris: Well Chapter Eleven is an option.

    Amanda smiles.

    Amanda: Nope, not that either.

Allen: Well if you’re not selling, and you won’t file for bankruptcy, what did you come up with?

Amanda looks at Allen, then looks at Iris, and walks slowly up to her.

Amanda: Daddy made a lot of connections in the industry. Matt and I managed to keep the ones that you almost alienated after the whole Chief thing.

Iris: They vowed never to do business with me.

Amanda: There are about four very rich, very connected people that KBAY needs and could use.

    Iris sighs in agreement.

Iris: You’re right. They could really take KBAY to the...wait a minute...

Amanda: Felicia’s movies could make all of us a lot of money...if we were all one company.

    Iris: Are you suggesting…?

    Amanda: A merger? Absolutely.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Charlie: Kirkland what are you doing?

Kirkland: What do you mean? I can’t believe you’re standing here talking to this guy.

Charlie: He said he had nothing to do with what happened at our wedding reception.

    Kirkland: You believe that?

    Charlie: Yes I do.

    Eric: Charlie I’m sorry.

Charlie: Kirkland can I talk to you in private please?

Eric: I have a date soon.

    K.C. walks up to them.

    K.C.: What’s goin’ on here?

    Kirkland: You’re kidding me right?

    K.C. looks at Eric.

K.C.: Do you want me to wait here?

Eric: Yeah I’ll be off in about ten minutes.

Kirkland: My cousin is your date? What is with you and my family? You better watch out for him cuz. He comes from a lineage of sociopaths.

    Charlie: Let’s go Kirkland.

Kirkland: Oh and one more thing, you stay the hell away from my wife you freak.

Charlie and Kirkland leave while Eric looks at them.

    K.C.: What happened?

Eric: Oh...nothing serious. Hey you can sit at that table by the painting. I’ll be ready in a few.

K.C.: Okay. Looking forward to it.

K.C. smiles and goes to the spot where Eric suggested to wait for him. Eric smirks with pleasure.

Eric: Looks like Kirkland’s got a jealous streak. Mom you’d be proud.

    -------------------------------------------

    TOPS

The elevator doors open, and Mitch escorts Felicia to their table by the terrace and they are greeted by a young female server.

Female server: Hi Mr. and Mrs. Blake. Am I getting your usual?

    Mitch: Yes. Pinot Grigio.

Felicia: Club soda for me. Thank you Alison. Who’s working tonight?

    Alison: Jennifer and Tammy.

Felicia: It’s Jenn’s second day right?

Alison: Yep. I’ll be right back with your drinks.

Alison goes to the counter and talks to a person who has a uniform and name tag that says Jennifer on it.

Alison: Hey I gotta go to the bathroom. Can you prepare the drinks for Mr. and Mrs. Blake? Pinot Grigio for Mr. Blake and club soda for the misses.

Jennifer: Cool. I think we’re out of club soda here.

Alison: There’s more in the back in the storage room.

Jennifer: Okay I’ll go get it.

    ----------------------------------------------------

    STORAGE ROOM

Jennifer is reaching for the box of club soda. As she searches for the two club soda bottles, she does not see Christy behind her.

    ---------------------------------------

Mitch: Is Jennifer working out for you?

    Felicia: Time will tell.

Mitch: I think it’s a great thing that you hire the college kids.

Felicia: Anything I can do to help.

Mitch: That’s why I fell in love with you.

    ---------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, at the counter, Christy, wearing Jennifer’s uniform, quickly prepares Mitch and Felicia’s drinks, and Christy empties the powdery substance from the vial that Brianna Jameson gave her into Felicia’s drink, and mixes it. Christy smiles with self admiration.

Christy: This should do the trick. As the kids say...bye Felicia.

Iris: Allen...we are gonna need some privacy.

    Iris: Are you serious?

    Amanda: Very.

Iris: You forget...the last time we worked together you betrayed me. Then you got Matthew and Michael to take Cory Productions away from me when I had control.

Amanda: It wasn’t yours. It was rightfully Michael’s company.

Iris: When you thought he was Mac Cory’s son, but he isn’t. His twin is...was.

Amanda: Martin wasn’t married, so when he died, it went to Michael, and Michael divvied it up amongst us.

Iris: And I got control of Brava Magazine.

    Amanda: Print and digital.

Iris: Now you want to merge companies.

Amanda: And you know it would create a great situation for all of us.

Iris: Because you’ve got those connections. I’ve got Spaulding money.

Amanda: What are you gonna do? Use all your capital to bankrupt daddy’s company?

Iris: I should be running Cory Productions.

Amanda: This merger is a great opportunity for you.

Iris: Seriously Amanda? I can see the strings attached all the way down to Bay City Center.

Amanda: We would be co-CEOs of the new company.

    Iris: Not a...

Iris gets a text message and after she reads it….

Iris: Um...uh can I think about this?

Amanda: Sure, but don’t keep me waiting too long.

Mitch and Felicia sit at their table near the terrace, and Alison the server brings their drinks. First she grabs Mitch’s glass….

Alison: Pinot Grigio for you Mr. Blake.

    Mitch: Thank you.

Alison: And...club soda for you Mrs. Blake.

Alison gently places the club soda on the right of Felicia’s plate of salad.

    Felicia: Thank you Alison.

Alison: Jennifer went to the storage closet to get some more. We ran out. Have you seen her?

Felicia: No. Maybe it was time for her break.

Alison: I’ll go check on her.

Meanwhile, Christy emerges unseen from behind the counter, watching Mitch and Felicia, waiting for Felicia to drink her spiked club soda. Felicia and Mitch continue their conversation.

Mitch: I video chatted with my granddaughter today.

    Felicia: How is Jasmine?

Mitch: She begged for a car.

Felicia: Hmm I wonder what she would need with one of those.

Mitch: Matt texted me and told me that she would ask.

Felicia: I hope you didn’t...Mitch you’re enabling her.

Mitch takes a bite of his salad.

    Mitch: No I’m not.

Felicia: But from what you told me she crashed Lila’s car. She’s clearly not responsible enough to operate a motor vehicle, and here you go buying her another car.

Felicia chews her spinach lettuce and grabs her club soda.

Mitch: See you jumped the gun.

Felicia raises the glass to her mouth and then stops.

Felicia: How did I do that?

Mitch: I said I would get her another car...if she took defensive driving classes. When she completes those, I’ll consider getting her a car. Lila’s gonna tell me when she’s finished.

Felicia: You’ve got to teach her responsibility Mitch.

Felicia puts her glass of club soda back down on the table.

Mitch: I know that, but that what she’s got Matt and Lila for. Seeing her face...

Felicia: Jasmine is not a little girl anymore. She’s got to grow up.

Mitch: Felicia I can’t say no to my granddaughter. When you have a grandchild, you’ll fully understand where I’m coming from.

    SUITE

Lorna and Devin Lucas enter with their suitcases.

Lorna: Wow. It’s been so long since I’ve been in Bay City.

Devin Lucas is focused on his phone as he has just sent a text saying “I’m at the Center Suites downtown.” as Lorna continues, walking slowly back and forth, looking at the wall.

Lorna: So much has changed. This new ‘Bay City Center’. These two bedroom, two bathroom suites. Hello, can you put your phone down for one second? I’m talking to you.

Devin Lucas: I’m just sending a text mom. No big deal.

    Lorna: To whom?

Devin Lucas: Somebody back in London.

Lorna: I’m gonna take a nice hot bubble bath. I’m pretty wiped after that flight. Then I’m gonna text my mother and tell her we’re here.

Lorna goes into the master bedroom and shuts the door, and Devin Lucas goes to the door and makes sure that he hears the water running.

Devin Lucas: Sorry mom. There’s someplace else I gotta go.

    CORY MANSION

Carl answers the door and it’s Frankie.

    Carl: Frankie. Come on in.

Frankie: I got your text. I came as soon as I could.

Carl follows Frankie into the living room. Frankie puts her purse on the sofa as she sits. Carl sits across from her on the chair.

Frankie: I have to tell you. I don’t have a good feeling about it.

Carl: You’ve always had that sixth sense haven’t you?

    Frankie: So something is wrong.

Carl: Do you remember that evening at Tops? Cass and Felicia were telling you to stay away from me, and I had you look into my eyes. You believed in me. You believed that I had changed. One of the only people who believed in me.

    Frankie: Yeah. I remember that.

Carl: None of us at that time would ever have imagined that we were father and daughter; that Ryan was your brother. It made so much sense why you two had become so close. I see so much of him in you.

Frankie: The last time I was here, it seemed like you...were saying good-bye. What’s going on Carl?

Carl: I wanted to tell all of my children first before the party.

    Frankie: Party?

    Carl: I’m throwing a party...here...at the house...to tell everyone.

    Frankie: I’m lost.

    Carl: I have glioblastoma.

    Frankie: What is that?

Carl: The brain tumor I had before, has returned, and is more aggressive, and inoperable.

Frankie: Oh my God Carl. You’re dying.

    LORNA’S SUITE

Lorna walks out into her bedroom from the master bathroom wearing a white terrycloth robe and her hair wrapped up in a towel.

Lorna: Oh that bubble bath was everything.

Lorna gets her cell phone and makes a phone call.

    ---------------------------------------------------------

Felicia: Oh so you think I’m going to spoil my grandchildren like you spoil yours?

    Mitch: I don’t spoil Jasmine.

    Felicia: Yeah sure you don’t.

    Mitch: I don’t.

Felicia: Umm hmm. She knows she can give you those little puppy dog eyes of hers, whine like a little bear cub, and get anything she wants from you.

Mitch: That’s what grandparents are for.

Felicia once again grabs her glass of spiked club soda.

Felicia: I wonder if Rachel feels the same way.

    Mitch: I think she would.

    Felicia: I beg to differ.

    -----------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, Christy is hiding behind a plant, in her regular clothes, next to the elevator.

Christy (whispering): For God’s sake Felicia drink the damned drink!

    --------------------------------------------------------

Felicia is about to drink her club soda when she’s interrupted by her cell phone ringing, so she puts the glass down again.

    Felicia: Lorna?

    --

    Lorna: Mom hi.

    --

Felicia: What a nice surprise! How are you doing honey?

    --

Lorna: I’m great, and I’m also in Bay City.

    --

Felicia: Oh you are! Why don’t you join Mitch and me at Tops? We’re having dinner.

    --

Lorna: Okay. Umm I’ll be there. I have a surprise for you both.

    --

    Felicia: Oh...sounds mysterious.

    --

Lorna: It’s a pleasant surprise. There’s someone I’d like you to meet.

Lorna hangs up and walks to the common area but she notices that Devin Lucas is gone.

Lorna: Oh no. Where did he go?

    CORY PRODUCTIONS

    Matt walks into Amanda’s office.

    Matt: Hey.

    Amanda: Matt.

Matt: Did you talk to mom or Carl yet?

    Amanda: Yeah. So shocking.

Matt: Poor mom. I mean she’s gotta go through this again.

Amanda: Well, with all of that bad news, I’ve got some good.

Matt: And what could that possibly be?

    Amanda: I saw Iris earlier.

    Matt: Annnd?

Amanda: Let’s just say I made her an offer she’d be stupid to refuse.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

Iris walks up to a black car with tinted windows, opens the passenger’s side front door, and gets in.

    Iris: You finally made it.

Devin Lucas is sitting in the driver’s side

Devin Lucas: Let’s make this quick. I have someplace else I need to be.

Iris: There’s a crimp in our plan.

Devin Lucas: I thought everything was going smoothly.

Iris: It was. I got your grandmother to sign with KBAY Productions, which was essentially going to sink my father’s company, and then Amanda comes to me with this ridiculous idea of a merger.

Devin Lucas: Well of course you refused it right?

Iris just looks at Devin Lucas.

Devin Lucas: Come on Iris you’re not considering this.

Iris: She has connections that could make KBAY a huge conglomerate.

Devin Lucas: What about you and your limitless Spaulding funds?

Iris: I can’t drain my capital to back Cory Productions into a corner.

Devin Lucas: If you merge with Amanda then our plan is blown out of the water.

Iris: For KBAY to be what I want it to be, we need the connections Amanda has. They pulled out of the company after I tried to take over as The Chief.

    Devin Lucas: What about me?

Iris: I will make sure you have your place in the company.

Devin Lucas: You better not be lying to me Iris. It won’t be good for you.

Iris: I see the apple didn’t fall far did it?

Devin Lucas: Get out. You’re holding me up.

The car alerts Devin Lucas of an incoming call from Lorna, but he presses ignore.

Lorna gets off of the elevator is on her cell phone

and walks past Christy, who is hiding behind a large plant.

Lorna: Devin Lucas this is your mother. I hope you didn’t go where I thought you went. Call me asap.

Lorna hangs up, looks around, notices Felicia and Mitch, and walks over to them.

    Mitch: There she is.

    Felicia: Lorna!

    Felicia and Lorna embrace.

    Felicia: Have a seat...please.

Lorna pulls out a chair and sits.

Lorna: Look at you. You look great. You’re glowing. Both of you.

    Felicia flags Alison the server.

Felicia: Alison get my daughter whatever she wants.

    Lorna: A dry martini.

    Alison: Comin right up.

Mitch: So when did you get in?

Lorna: Ummm bout a couple hours ago. That flight from London is a killer, but I took a bath, and I feel as good as new.

    Felicia: For now.

Mitch: The jet lag is gonna catch up with you soon.

Alison comes with Lorna’s dry martini.

Felicia: Oh I’m so happy to see you. You said that you had someone for us to meet. Where are they?

    Lorna: I dunno.

Mitch: I hope you’re staying a while this time.

Lorna: I’ll stay as long as I need to.

Felicia: Well this calls for a toast...to love and family.

    The three raise their glasses.

    Mitch: That includes grandchildren.

    Lorna: Yeah...grandchildren.

Felicia: Oh my God. Lorna you’re pregnant? I’m gonna be a grandmother? Oh we must drink to that!

Mitch drinks his wine, Lorna drinks her martini and Felicia drinks her spiked club soda. Christy, who is hiding behind a large plant near the elevator, is delighted to see it all.

    CORY MANSION

Frankie: My God Carl I’m so sorry. Why now? This universe is so unfair.

Carl: The universe is very fair. It’s my payback for everything I’ve done. Karma.

Frankie: But you’re not that person anymore. You’ve got children and grandchildren. You changed. I saw it when you fell in love with Rachel, and we just started to get to know each other. This just isn’t right.

Carl: I don’t have much longer Frankie.

Frankie: What about Rachel? Cory and Elizabeth?

    JOY’S APARTMENT

    Joy
    is on her cell phone.

Joy: Thomasina it’s so good to hear from you. Everything’s good. Bay City’s okay so far. Yeah I know it’s a small town. Have I met anyone?

    Joy flashes back....

    (EPISODE 187)

Steven: There’s still...so much I don’t know about you. Who is Joy? What makes her tick? You’re so beautiful....and mysterious.

    Steven begins to kiss Joy.

    Joy: I...I can’t do...this.

Joy tries to resist Steven, but she can no longer. She kisses him back.

She flashes back to the present.

Yeah...I guess you can say that.

Joy smiles, then she looks over at her laptop and sees inside Tyrone and Marley’s living room through the camera she planted, and her mood changes.

Joy: I’m...really hoping things can work out here for me.

    AT THE “CENTER”

Steven walks up and meets Vicky.

    Vicky: Hi honey.

    Steven: Thanks for coming mom.

Steven innocently pecks Vicky on her left cheek.

Vicky: Of course honey, anything for my kids.

Steven: Hey let’s find somewhere to sit.

    Vicky: What’s up?

    Steven: I...I need some advice.

Vicky: You’re the psychiatrist aren’t you?

Steven: This has nothing to do with my work.

Vicky: Oh you got that look in your eyyyyyyye. You met someone haven’t you?

    Steven smiles.

Vicky: With everything going on in our family we could use some good news. Who’s the person lucky enough to catch my son’s attention?

Steven: I’m the lucky one. Her name’s Joy.

    Vicky: Joy? Joy who?

    Steven: Joy Kramer.

    Vicky: Any relation to Dana?

    Steven: That’s her cousin.

Vicky: Oh okay. Sounds good...so far. What else do you know about this girl?

Steven: She’s sweet, funny, and mysterious.

Vicky: Easy there tiger. You say she’s sweet, funny, and mysterious huh? Sounds like an interesting combination. You want some advice? Don’t be so quick to fall for this girl. Take things slow and get to know her. You never know what she’s hiding her closet, not to mention she almost destroyed your Aunt Marley’s marriage years ago.

    -------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, Joy opens up her closet door and grabs a blue dress. She also looks at her scuba equipment, which she used to dive into the river and retrieve the gun that Donna used to shoot Reginald, and a gas can, which she used to pour gas around the Harbor Club before she set it on fire.

Joy: Steven must never find out about this.

    --------------------------------------------

Steven: I’m aware of all that mom. It doesn’t take away how I feel about her. People make mistakes. I mean haven’t you made your share?

    Vicky: Touche son.

Steven: Sorry mom, well I gotta go meet her.

Vicky: Well honey you have a great time.

Steven: Who knows? I might even bring her to Carl’s party.

Vicky: I dunno about that. Wait a minute. Carl’s party? You got a text for that, too?

Steven: Yeah. I assume you’re coming.

Vicky: Of course I am, but I wonder what would make Carl throw a party?

    CORY MANSION

Carl is in the living room with Frankie when Devin Lucas walks in.

Carl: Look where it brought you. I never really had the opportunity to bond with Ryan. You, and my twins, were my second chance.

Devin Lucas: What about me? What chance do I give you?

Carl slowly rises up from his chair, and his eyes widened, shocked to see Devin Lucas. Carl walks up to him, and hugs him, but Devin Lucas does not return the gesture, and Frankie notices it.

    Carl: Son.

    Frankie: Son?

Carl: Frankie this is your brother...my son...Devin Lucas Hutchins.

Frankie notices some tension between them.

Frankie: I think I...need to leave you two alone.

Devin Lucas: Nice to meet you...sis.

Frankie: Same here. I’m gonna go.

Frankie closes the double living room doors leaving Carl and Devin Lucas together.

Carl: Son, it’s so good to see you.

Devin Lucas slowly walks through the living room, looking up and around.

Devin Lucas: This place looks great dad. You’ve done well for yourself haven’t you? Quite the charmer you are. You managed to marry Rachel Cory. You really fooled her didn’t you?

Carl remains silent, as if he knows where Devin Lucas is going with what he is saying.

Lorna: It’s more like who is it, and I’m looking for him.

Mitch: Do you need us to help you?

Felicia: Honey who are you looking for?

Lorna: I don’t need any help to find him. I know exactly where he went.

    ----------------------------------------------------------

Devin Lucas: Does she really know you? Does Rachel know everything you did to my mother?

    PARK

Steven gently escorts Joy to a spot while she’s blindfolded.

Joy: Where are we going? It smells like grass.

    Steven: Hold up...we’re almost there.

Steven gently removes the blindfold from Joy’s eyes.

    Joy: Wow.

Joy sees a blanket, complete with a basket of food and a bucket of champagne.

Steven: I’m not sure what you prefer but…

Joy: Oh Steven, nobody’s ever...done this for me. Why? I don’t...deserve this at all.

Steven: Of course you do. You have no idea how special you are….how special you’ve become to me. I was drawn to you the first day I met you in the coffee shop.

    Joy: I...I....

Steven (whispering): Don’t think so much. Just bask in the moment; just let yourself feel. You feel me, don’t you?

Joy nods her head, then Steven gently pulls Joy into a kiss, and Joy returns it.

    -----------------------------------------------------

Vicky is sitting at a table at the Center talking on her cell phone to Marley.

Vicky: You should have seen him. He is head over heels for her.

    ---

Marley: Joy Kramer. That name just...is one I’d soon forget…

    ---

Vicky: I know what she almost did to your marriage.

    ---

Marley: I’d like to leave it in the past. Everybody has taken their responsibility in that affair.

    ---

Vicky: Now my son wants to date her.

    ---

Marley: Victoria, Steven’s a grown man. You gotta let him live his life.

    ---

Vicky: When Roman grows up you’re gonna be just as protective.

    ---

Marley: Besides what happened between Tyrone and Joy didn’t destroy our marriage.

    ---

Vicky: I wish my marriage was just as strong as yours.

    ---

Marley: You and Jake will get through this.

    ---

    Vicky: From your lips.

    ---

Marley: You will. I love you.

    ---

    Vicky: Love you, too.

As Vicky hangs up her cell phone, a man walks up to her.

    Man: Vicky McKinnon?

    Vicky: That’s me.

    Man: This is for you.

He gives her an envelope and walks away while Vicky reads the envelope contents.

    Vicky: Oh no.

    -------------------------------------------------

Devin Lucas: Why do you want me to stop dad? Truth too painful?

Carl: This is about Lorna isn’t it?

Devin Lucas: What would make you think that this is about mom?

Carl: I can see the anger in your eyes. It’s oozing from your pores. What did she tell you?

Devin Lucas: She didn’t tell me anything. I did internet searches on you. I found so many...horrific things. Then when I’d ask mom about it, she’d avoid the subject. Her whole demeanor and look would change. Like she would clam up. Other times she would snap at me saying she didn’t wanna talk about it. So something definitely happened. I’m here to ask you. What really went down between you and my mother?

Carl: Son, some things are better left unsaid.

Devin Lucas: No it’s not dad, because you have a brain tumor. You’re not gonna be here much longer, and before you go, you’re gonna tell me what happened between you and mom.

Carl: You wanna know the truth son? You really wanna know about me and Lorna? I’ll tell you.

Michele:  When did you get back to Bay City?

Bridget holds her smartphone up, snaps their picture, and they continue walking.

Cory:  How would you know?  You kept covering your eyes every five seconds so you couldn’t have seen anything.
Bridget:  I was watching it through the openings between my fingers.
Cory:  Yeah whatever.  You wanna smoothie?
    Bridget:  Yeah.
    Cory:  Be right back.
They kiss and as Cory leaves, Bridget pulls up her FacePage account, posts the selfie, and writes a message, and she goes to a part where it says “post to all except Cory Hutchins.”  She clicks his name so he cannot see the post.  She notices Cory coming with their smoothies and quickly puts her phone away.

Vicky:  You’re giving up.  You’re running away.
Jake:  Do I have to run down the reasons why I sent you these papers Vicky?
    Vicky:  Try it.

Cory:  I’m sorry that your parents are going through that.
Bridget:  It hurts you know.  I can’t help but thinking this really might be the end for them.  So much has happened.

    Cory:  I agree.
    They proceed upstairs.
    ------------------------------------------------
Jake:  Vicky you need to face the truth.  Ever since Michele’s accident we haven’t been the same since.
    Vicky:  We got past that.
Jake:  Then you knew about Lindsay being my daughter and you didn’t tell me.
Vicky:  I was trying to protect our family!
Jake:  But you didn’t did you?  I don’t trust you Vicky.  Ever since you kept the truth about Lindsay from me, I have a hard time trusting you.
Vicky:  After everything we’ve been through together, you all of a  sudden don’t trust me?  That’s so ridiculous.
Jake:  Is it?  It’s like you went back to the old Vicky, or maybe you never changed at all.
Vicky:  I did change!  I have four children.
    Jake:  I don’t know.  I don’t know anything anymore.
Vicky:  All I see is someone who is looking for an excuse to get out of this marriage.
Jake:  You think that’s it?  You think this doesn’t hurt?
Vicky:  I can’t tell Jake.  Maybe you’re just itching to leave me.
Jake:  You were the one who gave me an ultimatum.
Vicky:  Oh Jake so suddenly holier than thou.  Con artist, blackmailer, sleazy newspaper reporter.  Is that the life you want?  Are you bored?  Is that why you want out?
Jake:  Dammit Vicky!  You just don’t get it!
Vicky:  Oh I get it.  Oh do I ever...get it.  You’ve given up on our marriage.  How could you?
    Vicky walks out.

    CORY MANSION
Felicia, Lorna and Mitch have just walked in on a conversation between Carl and Devin Lucas.
    Carl:  What?
Devin Lucas:  It’s a closed ended question.  Did you rape my mother?
Lorna walks over to Devin Lucas and gently places her left hand on his left shoulder.
Lorna:  No baby.  Carl never forced himself on me.
Devin Lucas:  Did he force you to keep me in boarding schools?  All the bodyguards; people keeping tabs on me.
Felicia:  Okay I’m completely confused.  What the hell is going on here?
Mitch:  I think Devin Lucas is the surprise that Lorna was talking about.
    Lorna turns to Felicia.
Lorna:  Mom, this is my son, your grandson.
Felicia walks slowly over to Devin Lucas.
    Mitch:  Wow.
Felicia:  Lorna you never said a word about this all these years.
    Lorna:  Long story mom.
Devin Lucas:  So you’re Felicia.  Mom raves about you.
Felicia:  Wow.  I’m an instant grandmother.  Devin Lucas.  Named after...your grandfather Lucas.
Felicia touches Devin Lucas’s right cheek as her eyes well up.
Felicia:  You...you look so much like him.
Devin Lucas:  And don’t forget my first name….which is mom’s last name.  I just spell it differently than she does.
    Lorna:  I spelled it differently.
Carl:  We can do the introductions later, but I think Devin Lucas, Lorna and I should have time alone.
Felicia:  I just met my grandson.
    Lorna turns to Felicia.
Lorna:  Mother, please...can you and Mitch leave us alone for a minute.
She turns back to Devin Lucas and Carl.
Lorna:  This talk is long overdue.

Matt is in his office when Maggie knocks on the door.  Matt doesn’t look up and he’s looking over some papers.
    Matt:  Come in.
Maggie:  Take a break from work why don’t you?
    Matt:  What?  Maggie.  Heeeey.
Matt gets up and they embrace.
Maggie:  It’s Dr. Maggie Winthrop to you.
Matt:  Are you serious?  Wow congratulations!  When did this all happen?
Maggie:  After I broke up with Rafael.  I decided to go to school and become a doctor.
Matt:  And what’s up with the Winthrop.  You dropped the Cory name?
Maggie:  My mom came to town and finally told Cass the truth.
Matt:  I guess now you’re Cass’s daughter.  I wonder whose daughter you’ll be next week.
Maggie:  Ha ha ha funny.  Not out of the realm of possibility where Cecile’s concerned.  She produced a DNA test this time.  I’m definitely Cass’s biological daughter.
Matt:  Man I can’t believe you’re a doctor now.  You were always one determined gal.
Maggie:  Oh are you talking about when I was scheming.
Matt:  Yeaaah Maggie you had it bad for Nick Hudson though.  You pulled every trick in the book to get him.
Maggie:  Well I’m not that girl anymore.  I got a job at the hospital.
Matt:  Ohh so you’ll be on staff at Bay City General.
    Maggie:  Yep.
Matt:  Man you’ve been real busy.  I’m proud of you.  You’ve done well for yourself.
Maggie:  That means a lot coming from you.  I had one video chat interview with Dr. John Hudson and he hired me.
Matt:  Dr. Maggie Winthrop.  I’m liking the sound of that.
Maggie smiles at Matt’s words of encouragement.

Sharlene adjusts John’s tie as he’s about to leave.
Sharlene:  Don’t tell me that the cool, calm and collected Dr. John Hudson is nervous about his interview today.
    John:  Me?  Nervous?  Naaaah.
Sharlene:  It’s understandable.  This is big.  They’re interviewing you for the Chief of Staff position.
John:  Alright I’m a little nervous...just a little.  I mean I’m acting Chief of Staff already.  I should have a leg up on the competition right?
    Sharlene:  Right.

    BAY CITY CENTER
Iris walks out of the coffee shop and a man bumps into her, and causes her to drop her cup of coffee and her purse.
Iris (bending down to pick up her purse):  Oh no!  I really wanted that latte.  Watch where the hell you’re going!
Man:  Alright the next latte’s on me.
Iris is surprised by who she sees.
Iris:  Russ Matthews?  What are you doing here?
Russ:  I...had an interview at the hospital.
Iris:  Interview?  Sounds like you’re trying to come back to Bay City for a while.
Russ:  It’s not just that.  I’m...consulting on a patient, too.
Iris:  Hmm who is this....mystery patient?
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    CORY MANSION
Mitch and Felicia are in the foyer.
Mitch:  Lorna did say she had a surprise for ya.
Felicia:  Did she ever?  I never ever knew, or had any reason to think that she and Carl had a son..my grandson.  All grown up.  In the living room.
Mitch:  I see all those grandparenty instincts kicking in.  Like I told you at Tops.
Felicia:  Words can’t describe how I feel right now.  I thought I’d never be so ecstatic to find out that I’m a grandmother.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carl, Lorna, and Devin Lucas are alone in the living room.
Devin Lucas:  Felicia’s everything you said she is.
Lorna:  One of the best people I’ve ever known.
Carl:  Fiercely loyal to those she loves.  You’ll be lucky to have your grandmother here.
Devin Lucas:  She said I looked...like ‘him’.  Was she talking about my grandfather Lucas?
Lorna:  Yes.  She loved him with all of her heart.
Carl:  Just like we...love you, son.
Devin Lucas:  Why now though?  Why is this the only time I’m gonna get to spend with my dad?
Carl:  It took me that long to pay off Lucas’s creditors.
Lorna:  We had to protect you honey.  They would have come after you.  Carl called me and told me that it was safe for you to come to Bay City.
Devin Lucas:  All those years of boarding schools.  The only way I could communicate with my dad was by letters, emails, and then texts.
Lorna:  I’m sorry that it had to be that way, but we had to protect you.
    Devin Lucas:  I get it.
Lorna:  I love you more than anything else in this world honey.  I was such a hardened, tough girl, but you made me melt.  You made me become a mother.
Carl:  We both love you….so much.

    PART 2
Russ and Iris are walking out of the coffee shop slowly.
Iris:  I’m surprised to see you back here.
Russ:  Bay City’s always been my home.  I’m looking forward to being back.
Iris:  I’ve been trying to get Sarah to come here, but she’s loving Paris too much.
Russ:  I coulda told ya that.  Our granddaughter isn’t coming to the states any time soon.
Iris:  D.J.’s birthday is coming soon.
Russ:  What are you planning on sending him?  I’m sure you’re gonna send him a lavish gift with your new found Spaulding money.
Iris:  You act like I’m gonna buy him a Porsche or something.
    Russ smirks.
Iris:  Don’t look at me like that.  I want our grandson to learn responsibility and the value of hard work.
Russ:  Olivia says he’s not ready for a car yet.
Iris:  So tell me about your interview.
Russ:  I think it went pretty well.  Hopefully they’ll pick me.
Iris:  I’m sure they’ll have a place on staff for you there.  I used to be on the board.  Do you want me to make some calls?
Russ:  No no no Iris I don’t need your help.  If I meant to be the Chief of Staff, then that’s what I’ll be.
Iris:  Chief of Staff?  Aim for the stars.  You do know that Sharlene’s husband is the acting Chief of Staff.
    Russ:  I know...John Hudson.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
John walks into his office and Sharlene is there and he doesn’t close the door all the way.
    Sharlene:  How’d it go?
John:  As well as can be expected.  They’re gonna make a decision in the next couple of days.
Sharlene:  I really hope you get it.
John:  They take the interim tag off and make me permanent Chief of Staff.
Sharlene hugs John and kisses him.
John:  Means so much to me to have your support.
Sharlene:  I wouldn’t care what you did for a living.
    John:  Legally of course.
Sharlene:  After everything we’ve been through, I realize more than ever how much I love you, and appreciate you.
    They hug each other tightly.
John:  Ahhh Sharlene.  I don’t wanna ever lose you again.
Meanwhile, Brianna Jameson walks slowly toward the door, and peeks at John and Sharlene.
John:  Well if they don’t select me, I will have still made a key addition to the staff.
    Sharlene:  Oh?
    John:  Maggie Winthrop.
    ------------------------------------------------
Matt:  I mean it.  It seems you’ve...gotten more mature.  You’ve become a doctor for God’s sake.
Maggie:  I’ll admit I had some growing up to do.  I was so hung up on Nick I couldn’t see straight.  Then I just left town with Rafael.
Matt:  It was a long time ago.
Maggie:  But I learned from it.  Being with Rafael taught me a lot.   He didn’t do anything wrong.  It was a wild, thrilling ride with him, but we just went our separate ways.  We left Bay City together, but we didn’t grow together, you know?   I wanted to go to medical school and...he wanted to do...what he wanted to do.
Matt:  I can only imagine what that was.  He worked for Carl before so whatever it was he was doing couldn’t have been savory.
Maggie:  I insisted he never tell me.
Matt:  Well I’m not judging you because Blair Baker, Jackie Warren, whatever her name was, she certainly wasn’t on the up and up, and I was head over heels for her...and Lila.
Maggie:  Well at least a blessing came out from you and Lila.
Matt:  Jasmine’s the apple of my eye.  You should see her.  She’s all grown up, and it happened so fast.
Maggie:  We both had to put our big girl and big boy pants on right?  Time for us to become adults.
Matt:  You’re exactly right.  I take it you’re gonna go see my mom.
Maggie:  Of course.  I still know the way to the Corys.

Mitch:  I bet you wanna buy him anything he wants now don’t you?  You wanna spoil him just like I spoil my granddaughter.
Felicia:  Oh you admit it that you spoil Jasmine.
    Rachel walks downstairs.
Rachel:  Of course we do Felicia.  Why are the living room doors closed?
Mitch:  Carl and Lorna in there.
    Felicia:  And Devin Lucas.
    Rachel:  Carl’s son?  He’s here?
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
Devin Lucas:  I hate this.  You don’t have much time left dad.
Carl:  I had to make things right for you.  I can’t leave this earth knowing that you’re not safe.
Lorna:  But you are now.  We all are.
Devin Lucas:  Did you tell Cory and Elizabeth?
Carl:  All of the children know.
Lorna:  You’re having a party in a couple of days.
Carl:  Announcing it to everyone else.
Devin Lucas:  I wish there was...something I could do to give us more time together.
Carl:  Son, just be strong.  You’ll have plenty of support.
Lorna:  You’ll have your brother and sisters; Mitch, your grandmother, and me.

    Tyrone:  Hey baby.

Vicky is curled up on the couch as she flashes back..
    (EPISODE 207)
Vicky flashes back to the present and a tear rolls down her cheek.  Michele comes downstairs and Vicky wipes the tear, and quickly pulls herself together.
Vicky:  Hi honey.  How are you?
    Michele:  I’m good.
Vicky:  It’s a nice day out.  Any plans?
Michele:  I’m gonna head over to the Love Mansion.
Vicky:  Oh?  Gonna go visit your grandparents?  I’m sure they’d be thrilled to see you.
Michele:  Yeah.  I’m gonna see them...and Bridget.  Mom I haven’t been completely honest with you.
    Vicky:  About what honey?
    Michele:  About everything...especially about Bridget.
    -----------------------------------------------
LOVE MANSION...Donna is sitting with Michael on the living room couch.
Donna:  You know I’ve been thinking a lot about the girls.
Michael:  You’re always thinking about the girls.
Donna:  Victoria and her marriage and...Marley’s due any day now.
Michael:  What about Bridget and Michele?
Donna:  Of course I worry about them the most.  I wonder what we’re gonna do to get those two on solid ground again.
Michael:  We don’t do anything Donna.
Donna:  So you’re saying you want a repeat of what happened between Marley and Victoria?
Michael:  Of course I don’t want that, but I think you’re overreacting just a little.
Donna:  It’s better for me to overreact than to brush it aside and have something happen that could hurt one of them.
Michael:  Well you haven’t heard anything lately right?  Bridget’s living here, and Michele’s living at home.
Donna:  But they shouldn’t be separated.  They’re twins for God’s sake.
Michael:  Maybe things have died down between them.  Who knows?   Maybe they’ll even...kiss and make up.
    ------------------------------------------------------
    LOVE MANSION
In Bridget’s bedroom, Cory and Bridget are lying in the bed kissing.  Bridget is taking breaths as if she’s losing herself in Cory’s kisses.
Bridget:  I love when you touch me.
    Cory:  Is that it?
    Bridget:  No.
Cory starts rubbing her left thigh gently.
    Cory:  You like that?
    Bridget:  Yeah, I love it.
Bridget moves Cory’s hand closer between her legs.
Bridget:  It’s time Cory.  We’ve waited long enough.
They kiss passionately and start to remove each other’s clothes.
    Cory:  Wait a minute.
Cory quickly goes to his book bag, grabs a condom, and opens the wrapper to slip it on.

Tyrone:  Why now?  Did you have some type of epiphany or something?
Allen:  Guess you could say that.
Marley:  I think this is great.
Tyrone:  Forgive me if I’m a little skeptical after everything you’ve pulled since you came to Bay City.
Allen:  I just found my daughter man.
Tyrone:  K.C.?   Yeah Marley told me.  You must be…happy.
Allen:  I didn’t know anything about til the night my grandfather kidnapped her.
Tyrone:  Reginald Love.  He’s the best isn’t he?
Allen:  I guess what I wanna say is...ever since I found out Nicole Love was my mother, family’s become very important to me.  I’ve connected with my Aunt Donna, Vicky, Marley, but it’s one thing missing...my own brother.
Tyrone:  You wanna be brothers now?
Allen:  I guess that’s...that’s on you.  I wanna bury the hatchet.
Marley:  This is really sweet.  You’re gonna make me cry and I’m already hormonal.
Tyrone nods his head in agreement.
Tyrone:  I think so, too.  Roman’s gonna need his uncle Allen when he comes into the world.  Besides, what kind of example am I gonna set for him if I got a grudge against my own brother.
Marley:  So this means you guys are going to make up.
    Tyrone:  Yeah...it does.
    Tyrone and Allen hug.
Marley:  Now we gotta get Bridget and Michele to do what you guys are doing.
    --------------------------------------------
    Vicky:  What do you mean?
Michele:  Elizabeth Hutchins was here earlier and we were talking about Bridget.
Vicky:  And what did you come up with?
Michele:  I’ve been very angry with her.
Vicky:  And that’s understandable with all the stunts she pulled.
Michele:  When I got back to Bay City, I wanted Bridget to pay for everything she had done.
Vicky:  Did you...want to hurt your sister?
Michele:  I never wanted to hurt her.
Vicky:  Of course you didn’t.  That’s what I’ve been trying to tell everyone.
Michele:  Aunt Marley and Grandma Donna have been pleading with me to stop being so angry.  They think I’m gonna do to Bridget what…
Vicky (taking a deep breath):  Marley did to me.
Michele:  And I’ve been thinking a lot about it and...it’s time for me to go tell Bridget that I forgive her, and for us to be sisters again.
Vicky:  Honey, that is the best news I’ve heard all day.  So proud of you.
    Vicky hugs Michele.
    ---------------------------------------------------
Cory and Bridget plop themselves next to each other lying on the bed as they look up at the ceiling.
    Bridget:  Wow that was...that was.
    Cory:  The bomb?
    Bridget:  People still say that?
Cory:  You’ve been doing some reading haven’t you?
    Bridget:  Reading what?
    Cory:  About sex.
    Bridget:  Mmmmm maybe I have.
Cory:  The way you did things, it didn’t seem like it was your first time.
Bridget:  But it was, and it was...everything I hoped it would be.
Bridget leans on Cory and starts to kiss him again.  Cory takes off the used condom and tosses it in the wastebasket next to the bed.
    Cory:  Gonna need another one.
    Bridget:  I’m...kinda sore.
Cory:  We can stop if you want.
Bridget:  There are...other things I’ve been reading about.
    Bridget crawls under the covers…
    -------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, downstairs in the living room…
Donna:  I sure hope so.  The last thing is to relive what happened between Marley and Victoria all those years ago.
Michael:  It’s not gonna happen Donna.  I wish you’d stop thinking like that.
Donna:  I can’t help it.  You weren’t there.
Michael:  Thank your father for that.
Donna:  Marley was so angry.  The sweet Marley we all knew was a different person.  When I fell and hit my head, I couldn’t even say anything.  I had to watch as she plotted against Victoria, and she locked her in the basement of this house.  I’ll be damned if I let that happen with Michele and Bridget.
Michael:  I’m not taking anything away from Marley and Vicky, but you gotta have faith in the girls.  The girls are fighting, but they’ll resolve their differences.  I mean, didn’t Marley and Vicky do that?  Look how close they’ve gotten.
Donna:  You don’t understand.  I don’t want our granddaughters to have to go through that to get close again.
Michael:  Well Donna there’s not much we can do about it.
Donna:  So you think we should just stand by and watch those two kill each other?
Michael:  That’s not what’s happening, and it’s not going to happen.
Donna:  You don’t know that now do you?
Michael:  I have faith in Michele and Bridget.  They will work things out Donna...you’ll see.

    PART 1
    STACEY’S APARTMENT
Lindsay is lying down on the couch dressed in her blue pajamas and Stacey walks into the living room.
Stacey:  Look Lindsay you can’t lie around and be depressed about this forever.
Lindsay:  Oh you’re a shrink now.  I guess you’re gonna ask me how it makes me feel?
Stacey:  Sarcasm isn’t gonna help you right now.
Lindsay:  You wanna know how it makes me feel don’t you?  Do you wanna how a hysterectomy makes me feel?  I’m nothing.  I feel...empty.  I’m never gonna have a child!  I feel worthless.
Stacey:  If that’s your attitude then that’s what’s gonna happen.  There are other ways you can have children.
Lindsay:  Oh wait, you’re gonna tell me I can adopt.  You know what’ll happen?   I’ll attach myself to the child until the birth mother decides she wants to come and take custody, and I will have no choice but to give the child back to its natural mother.  You see, natural mothers have more power; biological mothers hold all the cards.  I will never be anyone’s biological mother.
Stacey:  And how long are you gonna down about it?  How long are you gonna sit here and feel sorry for yourself?  You’re better than that Lindsay.  You’re stronger than that!
Lindsay:  You’re really something aren’t you?  You’re gonna tell me how I should feel?
Stacey:  Of course not honey.  I want you to get through this, but moping around, having a pity party, that’s not you.  That’s someone else, and whoever that person is has taken my daughter, and I’m gonna get the real you back, no matter what I have to do.
Lindsay:  You want me back mom?  How about you and Gregory stop treating me like a delicate, porcelain trinket?
Stacey:  We can help you if you let us.
    Stacey’s eyes well up.
Stacey:  I love you so much.
Stacey leaves out the front door.  Outside she leans her back on the wall next to the door, and looks up at the ceiling.
Stacey:  My God what am I gonna do?
    Michael walks up.
    Michael:  You alright?
Stacey runs up and hugs Michael.
    Stacey:  No.  Not at all.
Michael:  Worried about your daughter huh?
    Stacey:  Yeah...very.
    Michael:  Are you headed out?
Stacey:  Yeah I’m..I was headed to the office.
Michael:  Why don’t we...go somewhere?  To the Center maybe?
Stacey: Yeah...I have a few minutes.  Sure.
    As they walk away slowly.
Michael:  Guess we’re both worried huh?
Stacey:  You must be worried about...Lindsay’s sisters.
    Michael:  Yep, Bridget and Michele.

    Michele flashes back.
    (EPISODE 191)
Michele turns around, and walks to the counter slowly. She secretly grabs a pair of gauze scissors and starts digging them into her left arm until she draws blood.
Michele flashes back to the present.
    Michele:  That’s...that’s not important.
Vicky:  So Bridget did attack you?
Michele:  Whatever Bridget did, I forgive her.
Vicky:  I always knew that you would do the right thing.  You always did.  That’s my girl.  If you were angry at Bridget, I knew you would eventually would try to resolve your differences.
Michele: And I’m gonna head over to the Love Mansion to let her know.
    ---------------------------------------------
    LOVE MANSION
Donna walks to the foyer and sees Bridget and Cory coming downstairs.
    Donna:  Cory?  Bridget?
    Cory:  Hi Donna.
Donna:  Cory what were you doing upstairs?
Cory looks at Bridget who is a step behind him.
    Donna:  You two...in my house?
    Cory:  I can explain…
Bridget:  Explain what Cory?  My grandmother seems to have figured out what happened.  We slept together.
Donna:  Cory can you let Bridget and I talk please?
    Cory:  I’m gonna...head home.
    Bridget:  I’ll call you.
They kiss and Donna turns her attention to Bridget.
    Bridget:  Where’s grandpa?
    Donna:  He went out.
Bridget:  Well I’m gonna go see dad.
Donna:  Not now you’re not.  In the living room...now!  You’re reminding me of your mother.
    --------------------------------------------------------
Vicky is curled up on the living room couch and her arms folded.  She looks at the divorce papers on the coffee table, and has a flashback…
    (EPISODE 207)
Jake:  Vicky you need to face the truth.  Ever since Michele’s accident we haven’t been the same since.
    Vicky:  We got past that.
Jake:  Then you knew about Lindsay being my daughter and you didn’t tell me.
Vicky:  I was trying to protect our family!
Jake:  But you didn’t did you?  I don’t trust you Vicky.  Ever since you kept the truth about Lindsay from me, I have a hard time trusting you.
Vicky flashes back to the present, and uncurls herself from the couch and sits up and sighs.
Vicky:  What am I gonna do?
Suddenly, someone gently places his hand on her right shoulder, and she touches it, as if the feeling is familiar to her.  She looks up...
    Vicky:  You?
Vicky sees a smiling Ryan Harrison, dressed in street clothes.

    PART 2
AT THE CENTER...Michael and Stacey are sitting at a table across from each other.
Stacey:  I don’t know what else to do Michael.  I hate seeing her like this.
Michael:  It’s getting to you isn’t it?
Stacey:  I’m used to seeing her alive; on the go; determined.  I mean she came to Bay City all on her own to find Jake.  This person that I’ve been seeing the last few days...that’s not my daughter.  You know?
    Michael:  I know.
Stacey:  I just wanna reach inside and take what’s bothering her out, so she can be herself again.
Michael:  Unfortunately there’s not much we can do about that.  We see our children going down a road that’s gonna lead them to hurt.  We do what we can do stop them, and we can’t.  Donna told me about Vicky and Shane Roberts all those years ago.
    Stacey:  I heard about that.
Michael:  My twin brother got killed an accident trying to stop her from sleeping with him.  I wasn’t there but I can identify with that feeling.
    Stacey:  Parental instinct I guess.
    They both chuckle.
Stacey:  Well I’m glad you decided to come see me.
Michael:  I needed a friend.  I mean...we’re still friends after all these years right?
Stacey:  You’re really worried your twin granddaughters huh?
Michael:  Yeah I didn’t wanna tell Donna.  She’s worried to the twentieth power, and if I show her that I’m worried I don’t think it would help.
Stacey:  Well you know Donna better than anyone.
Michael:  I should.  I married her four times right?
Stacey:  Right?  Well I gotta...get to the office.
Michael places his hand on Stacey’s.
Michael:  If you...need anything I’m here for you.  Okay?
She slips her hand from under his.
Stacey:  Sure.  Thank you.  I’ll keep that in mind.  So where are you headed now?
    Michael:  Home.
She smiles, steps away, and places a call on her cell phone.
Stacey:  Can you come to my office?  I need to talk to you.
    ----------------------------------------------------------
Donna and Bridget are sitting on the living room couch.
Bridget:  Are you gonna give me the talk?  Because I heard it from mom and dad already.
Donna:  You watch your attitude young lady!  I just hope you and Cory were responsible, and used protection.
Bridget:  Why wouldn’t have we used a condom?
Donna:  I don’t know Bridget.  You tell me.
Bridget:  Really?  You think I’m gonna do what mom did when she slept with Jake and Jamie Frame.  She didn’t know who Steven’s father was, and then a few years later she slept with Ryan and Grant, and again she didn’t know who Kirkland’s father was.
    Donna:  That’s not what I meant…
Bridget:  Come on Grandma Donna, of course it’s what you mean.   You think I’m gonna end up like mom.  I guarantee you I won’t be needing any DNA tests.
Donna:  So you did use protection?
Bridget:  Yes.  We used a condom.
Donna:  Thank God.  I’m relieved that you and Cory were responsible.  And you’re right...I don’t want you to be in the same situation that your mother was in.
    ------------------------------------------------------
Vicky and Ryan are hugging and she straddles his face.
    Vicky:  You look…
    Ryan:  Older?
Vicky:  I thought you guys don’t age up there.
Ryan:  This is how I’d look if I was still on earth.
Vicky:  You...came at the perfect time.  You’re gonna tell me how to put my family back together.
Ryan:  Come on Vick, you know I can’t tell you what to do.
Vicky:  Why not?  Haven’t you learned anything from your boss in twenty years?
Ryan:  Oh there she is.  Same ole Vicky I knew and loved.
Vicky:  You and I should have gotten married and had a family.  You were the man I loved.
Ryan:  So you regret the family and the life you built with Jake?
Vicky:  No...no that’s not what I’m saying at all.  It’s like our...plans got cut short by Grant.  I mean he spent years trying to get sole custody of Kirkland.
Ryan:  I know what my brother did.  You and I weren’t meant to be Vicky, but you and Jake were.  You two have a great family.
Vicky:  We don’t have anything anymore.  He wants a divorce.
    Ryan:  I know.

    PART 1
    AT THE CENTER…
Toni and KC are sitting at a table.  KC sips her latte.
KC:  You know I had a great date the other day.
    Toni:  With Eric Stenbeck?
    KC:  Yeah.
    Toni:  Oh…great.
    KC:  But?
    Toni:  Nothing.
KC:  Is it because he’s James Stenbeck’s and Christy Carson’s son?
Toni:  His DNA is questionable but that doesn’t mean anything.
KC:  It wasn’t his idea to crash Kirkland and Charlie’s wedding reception.  It was Christy’s.
Toni:  I don’t care whose idea it was.  I just think you should take things slow because you don’t know him.
KC:  We’ve been talking for a few weeks, of course I don’t know him yet.
Toni:  Look I’mma keep it real.  There’s something about him that isn’t right, and I don’t want you to get hurt.
KC:  Eric is cool, and I like him.  Nothing is gonna happen to me.
Toni:  That’s what you say now.
KC:  Come on Toni, have a little faith in me.
Toni:  I’ve got plenty of that for you, but it’s Eric I don’t trust.
    Allen walks up.
    Allen:  I don’t either.
    KC:  Oh not you, too.
Allen:  He’s up to no good, and your mother and I don’t want you to be collateral damage.  I’m not gon’ sit by and watch it happen.
Toni:  Allen where are you going?
    -------------------------------------
    COFFEE SHOP…
Allen walks in, and accosts Eric, who is wiping down a table.
Allen:  Can I talk to you for a minute bruh?
    Eric:  I’m working.
Allen:  Tell em you on break.
Allen grabs Eric and escorts him to a corner of the shop.
    Eric:  What is this about?
Allen:  It’s about you and KC.  I don’t think she should be seeing you.
Eric:  Well isn’t that a choice that she has to make?
Allen:  You got a smart ass mouth don’t you?
Allen gets directly in Eric’s face, as Eric is backed up against the wall.
Allen:  I don’t know what you and your sociopathic, demented mother are up to, but I’ll be damned if KC gets dragged down with you.  If my daughter gets hurt, you gon deal with me, and trust me my man, that’s not something you want.

    AT KIRKLAND’S SUITE…
Charlie is changing purses in the common area as Kirkland walks out from their bedroom.
    Kirkland:  I made...reservations for us at Tops...tonight.
    Charlie:  What time?
    Kirkland:  Eight o’clock.
    Charlie:  Okay.
Charlie focuses as she continues to take her things out of one purse and place them into another.
Kirkland:  I’m looking forward to it.
    Charlie:  Yep.
Charlie walks past Kirkland to the closet...
Charlie:  Can’t find my pink lip gloss.
Kirkland:  Babe did you hear anything that I said?
    Charlie:  Yeah.
Kirkland:  Come on, you mean to tell me you’re still mad about what happened at the coffee shop?
Charlie:  Dogs get mad Kirkland, unless you’re trying to call me a bitch.
Charlie gets a shoe box out and sifts through it.
    Charlie:  Here it is.
She walks back to her purse and puts the lip gloss in it.
Kirkland:  Charlie can you stop for a minute and talk to me?
    Charlie:  What is it?
Kirkland:  I can’t believe you’re freezing me out because of Eric Stenbeck.
    Charlie:  That’s not it.
    Kirkland:  Then what is it?
Charlie:  It’s you.  You won’t let it go.
Kirkland:  You’re damned right I’m not gonna let it go.  He’s weird.
Charlie:  I saw him arguing with his mother.  He had nothing to do with crashing the wedding reception.  It was all Christy’s idea.
Kirkland:  Is that what he told you?
Charlie:  Eric is not as bad as you are making him out to be.  I don’t think he’s anything like his mother.
Kirkland:  Unbelievable.  He’s got you snowed doesn’t he?
Charlie:  We’re so not doing this.
Kirkland:  You need to stay away from Eric.
    Charlie walks to the door.
Charlie:  You need to let it go.  Eric is not like his mother.

    Toni:  Keep your voice down.
KC:  No!  I’m gonna continue to see Eric whether you two like it or not.
Allen:  You need to get out of it before you get too deep.  He’s gonna hurt you.  He’s got some kind of agenda.
KC:  Y’all didn’t hear me did you?  I am going to date Eric, and that’s it!
    KC gets up and leaves.
Toni:  Don’t walk away from me!
Allen:  Let her go.  Maybe she’ll cool off and come to her senses.
Toni:  Not happening.  She’s is more stubborn than a mule.  I don’t need this.  I gotta plan detail for the party at the Corys.
Allen:  It’s like she’s driving ninety miles an hour and she doesn’t see the brick wall she’s gonna hit if she gets any deeper with him.
Meanwhile, Eric is at the door of the coffee shop, secretly watching Toni and Allen.
    ------------------------------------------------
    AT STACEY’S…
Lindsay and Charlie are sitting on the living room couch each with their legs folded, eating ice cream…
Lindsay:  Oh cousin you sure know how to make a gal feel better.
Charlie:  Nothing like a good ole pint of butter pecan.
Lindsay:  Yummy.  I’m so happy you came.  You’ve really cheered me up.
    Charlie:  Yeah...right.
    Lindsay:  What’s wrong cuz?
    Charlie (sighing):  It’s Kirkland.
Lindsay:  You seem down...you wanna talk about it?
Charlie:  We’re fighting over Eric Stenbeck.
Lindsay:  You mean the guy who came with Christy Carson to your wedding reception uninvited.
Charlie:  I saw him arguing with his mother in the coffee shop the other day.  He insisted it wasn’t his idea, and the more I talk to him, the more I see that he’s not like Christy.  Kirkland doesn’t see it that way.
Lindsay:  You probably gotta see it from his perspective.  I think he’s just trying to protect you.
    Charlie:  He’s overreacting.
Lindsay:  Given what Christy did to your parents I could actually understand it.
Charlie:  But it doesn’t mean that Eric is gonna do the same thing.  You know what...this visit isn’t about me, it’s about you.  I’m sorry.  I’m supposed to be cheering you up and here I am talking about a disagreement with my husband.
Lindsay:  Don’t apologize.  This is helping me more than you’d ever know.  We’re family right?  You know what, let’s get outta here.  I can’t go back to work because I’m on leave, and I’m tired of being cooped up in this house.
    Charlie: Are you sure?
Lindsay:  Yeah.  Let me take a quick shower and we’ll be on our way.  You know maybe you need to talk to your parents about Christy, and you’ll probably understand why Kirkland is so adamant about Eric.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kirkland is set to leave the suite but he is distracted by a text on his phone from Scott Granger, Jr. from Genoa City.
Scott:  hey sexy married guy.  hru
    Kirkland:  what’s up Scotty
Scott:  hey i gotta tell u something.  u know the guy at the GCAC?
    Kirkland:  who?
Scott:  the bartender you slept with.  i heard he’s HIV+.  U should get tested.  just thought id tell u.  ttyl.
    Kirkland is horrified.
Kirkland:  No...no this can’t be happening.
Suddenly, Kirkland hears a familiar voice.
    Voice:  Yes it can.
Kirkland turns around and is shocked to see Ryan wearing a collared plaid shirt, blue jeans and boots.
Kirkland:  Uncle Ryan?  Why am I seeing you right now?
Ryan:  Because your lie is getting out of control.
Kirkland:  What are you talking about?  Wait a minute, aren’t angels dressed in white?
Ryan:  Not this time, and don’t try to change the subject.
Kirkland:  I’m scared man.  I’m so scared.
    Ryan:  That text?
Kirkland:  I only slept with the guy to get info on my father.  I wasn’t in love with him or anything.
Ryan:  But you were in love with Scott Granger right?
Kirkland:  Yeah I was.  Why are you bringing all this up?  I’m married to Charlie.
Ryan:  And you haven’t even told her about your past.
Kirkland:  I can’t do that.  I’d lose her forever.
Ryan:  You’re not giving her enough credit.  You’re not trusting in your love.
Kirkland:  I’m scared Uncle Ryan.  The guy I slept with is HIV positive.  What if I....?
Ryan:  There’s only one way to find out right?  You’re gonna have to go get tested.
Kirkland:  What if I infected Charlie?  I could never live with myself.
Ryan:  Did you use protection when you slept with that guy?
Kirkland:  Yeah but condoms aren’t foolproof.  Sometimes they break.
Ryan:  Kid..stop panicking.  Go get an HIV test.
Kirkland:  This day has come straight from hell, no pun intended.
Ryan:  That’s because you’re lying to her.  When you tell the truth, you’re gonna feel much better.
Kirkland:  Her parents are gonna kill me, especially Cass.

    ------------------------------------------------------------
    AT KIRKLAND’S SUITE…

    PART 2
Allen walks back to Toni and KC’s table and sits down.
    Toni:  What did you do?
Allen:  Nothing a father wouldn’t do for his daughter.
KC:  What did you say to him?
Allen:  He’s shady, KC, and if it were up to me you’d be seeing somebody else.
KC:  I’m glad you realize that because it’s not up to either of you.  I’m a grown woman.
    Toni:  Grown people make mistakes.
KC:  You two need to let it go.  So what he and his mother crashed Kirkland and Charlie’s wedding?  It wasn’t even his idea!

Ryan:  Kid..stop panicking.  Go get an HIV test.
Kirkland:  This day has come straight from hell, no pun intended.
Ryan:  That’s because you’re lying to her.  When you tell the truth, you’re gonna feel much better.
Kirkland:  Her parents are gonna kill me, especially Cass.

    PART 1
    AT STACEY’S OFFICE
Stacey is sitting at her desk as someone walks in..
Stacey:  Thanks for coming.  Have a seat.
    It’s Jake.
    Jake:  Is everything okay?
    Stacey:  No.  Not at all.
    Jake:  It’s about Lindsay right?
Stacey:  Yes.  She’s sinking deeper and deeper into this hole and I can’t get her out.  She needs your help...I need your help.
    -------------------------------------------
    AT THE CENTER…
Devin Lucas is walking with Lorna.  Lorna is looking up and around.
Lorna:  Wow.  This place is amazing.
    Devin Lucas:  Must be new.
Lorna:  It is.  This place wasn’t here when I lived in Bay City.  It looks great.
    Devin Lucas is despondent.
Lorna:  Thinkin about your dad aren’t you?
    Devin Lucas:  You’re a mindreader.
They stop walking and Lorna faces him.
Lorna:  Honey, we can’t change the past.
Devin Lucas:  I feel so cheated mom.  Years I missed with my father.
Lorna:  And we explained why.  I was the only one who was able to come and see you.
Devin Lucas:  I know.  I’m not blaming anybody.  It’s just that now that I can come out of hiding, we learn that he’s dying of a brain tumor.  It’s not fair.  You know?
Lorna:  I know baby.  We’re gonna get through this okay.
Lorna hugs Devin Lucas.  Meanwhile, Charlie and Lindsay are walking from around the corner with department store shopping bags.
Lindsay:  Oh my God this felt so good.  I just had to get those shoes.
Charlie:  I had no idea what to get for Carl’s party.  I loved that dress you picked out.
Lindsay:  It will look great on you.  Kirkland’s gonna love it, too.
    Charlie:  Thank you.
Lindsay:  No...you’re the one I should be thanking.  You got me out of the house.  You got my mind off my situation.
Charlie:  It’s good to see you smiling.
Lindsay:  I haven’t had much to smile about lately.
Charlie:  Linds don’t let this set you back.  You can come back from this.
Lindsay:  I’m so happy you came.  You’re the only one who doesn’t tiptoe around me.  Worried they’re gonna say the wrong thing.
Charlie:  I take it you’re talking about your mom and Gregory.
Devin Lucas and Lorna release each other from their embrace and someone catches his eye.
    Devin Lucas:  Mom?
    Lorna:  Yep.
Devin Lucas:  That’s my niece isn’t she?
Lorna:  Charlie Winthrop Harrison.  Yep that’s Frankie’s daughter.
Devin Lucas isn’t focused on Charlie.
Devin Lucas:  Who’s that with her?
Lorna:  That’s her cousin Lindsay Winthrop.
Devin Lucas:  I think it’s time we’re formally introduced.
Devin Lucas gently passes his mother and heads toward Charlie and Lindsay.  Meanwhile, Gregory, drinking a bottle of water, walks up to Lorna, who is watching Devin Lucas.
    Gregory:  Lorna?
    Lorna:  Hi?
    Gregory:  It’s Gregory.
Lorna:  Gregory Hudson.  John and Sharlene’s son?
My God you’re all grown up now.  You were yay big the last time I saw you.
Gregory:  What are you looking at?
    Lorna:  My son.
Gregory:  Why is he going over toward my girlfriend?
Gregory tosses his empty bottle of water in the garbage, and Lorna puts a glove on, retrieves the bottle, and puts it in her purse.  Meanwhile, Devin Lucas approaches Charlie and Lindsay.
    Devin Lucas:  Shopping?
    Charlie:  Yeah.
Devin Lucas:  Hey aren’t you my niece?
    Charlie:  Huh?
Devin Lucas:  Oh I’m sorry.  I’m Devin Lucas Hutchins.
Charlie:  Hutchins?  That’s my grandfather’s last name.
Devin Lucas:  Your grandfather is my father.
    He turns to Lindsay.
    Devin Lucas:  And you are?
    Lindsay:  I’m Lindsay.
Devin Lucas:  Good to meet you.
Devin Lucas extends his right hand, and Lindsay extends her right hand through the handles of the shopping bag, and they shake.
Devin Lucas:  You must be shopping for my dad’s party tomorrow night.
    --------------------------------------------------------
    CORY MANSION
Carl answers the door and sees Russ Matthews.
Carl:  Dr. Matthews.  Come on in.  Please.
Russ:  This place hasn’t changed at all.
They walk into the living room.
Carl:  Ohh this place holds a lot of history.  I’m going to miss it.
Russ:  I came to give you some painkillers.
Carl:  No...Dr. Matthews.  I’m going to go out with grace and dignity.
Rachel walks toward the living room doors, leans on the archway, and smiles as she sees Russ and Carl.
Russ:  Carl these will ease the pain.  I know the tumor is growing quickly.
Carl:  Somehow I feel I...deserve it.  Especially after all the pain I’ve caused everyone else over the years.
Rachel:  Don’t talk like that.  You’ve atoned for all of that.
Russ:  Rachel’s right.  Your party is tomorrow.  Let’s focus on that.
    Rachel:  I agree.
Carl:  I can’t help but to think how things could have been different for everyone if I weren’t so evil.  Especially Cass and Frankie.
    -----------------------------------------------------
    AT THE WINTHROPS
Christy has just made an unexpected visit.
Cass:  What the hell are you doing here?  How dare you show your face at my house?
Christy:  I know this is...this is unexpected.
    Cass:  And unwelcome.
Christy:  But I’ve made a decision and I thought that Mary Frances would be the first person I told.
Cass:  Why don’t you go back to hell where you came from and send a letter?
    Frankie:  Let her in.  Please.
    Cass:  Frankie---
Frankie:  Let her in.  What is it that you have to tell us Christy?
Christy (walking in):  Thank you so much Mary Frances.  You’ve always been so good to me.
Cass:  Say what you have to say and get the hell out!
Christy:  I’m gonna do that Cass, all the way out of town.  I’m leaving Bay City.

    PART 2
    Jake:  How has she been?
    Stacey:  She’s been depressed.
Jake:  Well that was to be expected right?  Especially after what she found out.
Stacey:  Yeah but she hasn’t left the house in three days.  She hasn’t even showered or put on regular clothes.
Jake:  Stacey you’re overreacting.  She’s not gonna stay like that forever.
Stacey:  I hate seeing her like that Jake.  That’s not her.  That’s not the Lindsay I raised.  That’s not the Lindsay that came to Bay City determined to find you.
Jake:  Sounds like she’s gonna need professional help.
Stacey:  It sounds like she needs her father.  Jake she needs you.
Jake:  Of course I will do whatever to help our daughter get through this, but I can’t help with any depression, and honestly I think Lindsay’s gonna snap out of it on her own.  She’s a very strong willed girl.
Stacey:  I hope so.  I truly hope so.
    Jake:  Come here.
    Jake hugs Stacey.
Jake:  We’re gonna get through this.  Where’s Lindsay now?
    Stacey:  She’s home.
    Jake:  I’ll go see her...okay?
    Stacey nods her head.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------
    Lorna:  Lindsay Winthrop’s your girlfriend?
    Gregory:  Yeah.
Lorna:  Well I’m sure when Devin Lucas finds out he’ll back off.
Gregory:  She looks very comfortable with him.
Lorna:  Is that a bad thing?
Gregory:  She’s been pushing me away.
Meanwhile, Devin Lucas talks to Lindsay and Charlie.
Charlie:  Uncle Devin as a matter of fact we were.
Lindsay:  Yep, the shopping was soooo therapeutic.  You know this girl, my cuz, it’s like she’s my sister.  She knew exactly what I needed.
Devin Lucas:  Well, does she know that you need an escort, too?
Lindsay notices Gregory out of the corner of her right eye and it gets her attention.
Gregory:  I hope my girl let’s me bring her to Carl’s party.
    Charlie:  Hey Gregory.
Gregory immediately turns to Devin Lucas.
Gregory:  I’m Gregory Hudson...and you are?
    Devin Lucas:  Devin Lucas Hutchins.
The two exchange a firm handshake.
Lindsay:  Gregory, we were shopping for the party at the Cory’s tomorrow.
Gregory:  You don’t have to explain.  Looks like you’re feeling better.
Lindsay:  I...I just went shopping with Charlie---
Gregory:  Hit me up later okay.
    ------------------------------------------------------------
Cass:  You’re leaving town?  That’s great, but why now?
Christy:  I had to make sure that my child was okay.
Frankie:  Eric seems like a strong guy.
Christy:  I missed a lot of time with my son because of Douglas, and I just wanted to stick around and make sure that he was going to be fine.  I’m not certain that he’s gonna wanna come with me when I leave.
Frankie:  Well I’m glad you made this decision.  I’m sure wherever you go you’ll be able to start fresh without anyone judging you.
Christy:  I wonder how that even feels.  Here I’m the killer who got a governor’s pardon.
Cass:  That shoe fits you well.
Christy:  I completely understand why you feel the way you do Cass.
    Cass:  Don’t patronize me.
Frankie:  Cass.  Listen, Christy whatever you decide I’ll support you.
Christy:  Thank you Mary Frances that means so much to me.

    HOSPITAL
John Hudson is in his office and Brianna Jameson walks in.
    Brianna:  Hi Dr. Hudson?
    John:  Yeah come on in.
    Brianna:  HR sent me.
John:  Right.  I like to meet all the candidates, well, as many as I can.
    Brianna:  Right.
John:  So I went over your resume, and you did your clinicals at Mass. General?
Brianna:  Yes.  It was a great experience.  I learned a great deal.
John:  So what brings you from Boston to Bay City?
Brianna:  Boston is a such a big city.  I’m a small town kinda gal you know?
    John:  Bay City General though?
Brianna:  Yeah I...heard a lot about this hospital.  Never a dull moment.  I think you were treated here for malaria.
John:  By a guy who shouldn’t have been practicing.
Brianna:  Yeah I uh...heard about Fax Newman, too.
John:  I see you’ve done your research.
    Brianna:  Yes sir I did.
John:  And since you’ve done your homework, you know that we never have enough good nurses.
Brianna:  Very hard to come by in this field.
John:  You’re exactly right.  There’s been some turnover here and we need somebody who’s gonna stick around.
Brianna:  Hopefully Bay City will be a place that I’d like to stay in.  A good job could factor into that.
John:  A job I hope that you can start today.
Brianna:  Today?  Does this mean I….?
John:  That’s if you want it.
Brianna:  I’ll take it!  Thank you. I will make my presence felt here.   I promise you that.

Amanda and Rachel walk into Matt’s office.  Matt is sitting at his desk.
    Matt:  Hey mom.
    Rachel:  Hi honey.
Matt:  Amanda how was the board meeting?
Amanda walks slowly Matt’s desk and puts papers on it.
Amanda:  It was...interesting to say the least.
    Matt:  What is this?
    Amanda:  The contract.
    Matt:  For the merger?
    Amanda:  Yes.
Matt:  Are sure you can trust Iris?
    Rachel:  I sure wouldn’t.
Amanda:  That’s why this contract was drawn up.  She has to agree to be the co-CEO of the new company.
Rachel:  You’d be having to watch your back so she doesn’t stab you in it.
Amanda:  She said she’d think about it, but my offer has an expiration date.
    Rachel:  You’ve done well Amanda.
Amanda:  She needs the connections that we have to grow her brand.
Matt:  What are you gonna do when Iris tries to betray you?
Rachel:  Carl and I have come up with a plan.  Iris won’t betray you.
Matt:  What about Paulina and Sandy?
Amanda:  My sister and my other brother are okay with it.   I’ve gotten their written agreements.  I need yours now.
Matt:  Well you know you’re also going to need the board to sign off on it, too.
Amanda:  That’s the problem.  One of the board members retired effective immediately.
Matt:  So we can’t execute the deal until we have all seven board members’ signatures.
Amanda:  First we gotta find another board member.
Matt gets up and and blinks his eyes.
    Amanda:  Matt what’s wrong?
    Matt:  Nothing I just feel a little...hungry.
Matt tries to walk and stumbles.
Rachel:  Something’s wrong with you.  We need to get you to the hospital.
    Matt:  Mom.
Amanda:  Mom’s right.  You need to get checked out.

    Lorna:  I got it.
Lorna gives him the envelope and Carl reads its contents.
Carl:  This is exactly what I was hoping for.   Thank you.
Lorna:  Are you...ready for your party?
Carl:  As ready as I’ll ever be.  How’s Devin Lucas adjusting?
Lorna:  I don’t think he’s having any problems whatsoever getting acclimated to Bay City.

    SUITE
Devin Lucas opens the door and Iris walks in.
Devin Lucas:  Sorry I haven’t been in touch with you.  I went to see my dad.
    Iris:  Really?  About?
Devin Lucas:  Just...just some family stuff.
Iris:  I’m really really sorry about Carl.
Devin Lucas:  Is that right?  I thought you’d be jumping for joy being that you tried to shoot him at his wedding.
Iris:  I’ve done my time for that.  It was a learning experience.
Devin Lucas:  And exactly what did you take from it?  How to be a better shot?
Iris:  I saw the pain on Rachel’s face when I heard her say he had a brain tumor, and she’s already had so much loss in her life, as have I...so yes I’m sorry that your father’s dying.  My father died, too.
Devin Lucas:  It’s tough, but I didn’t call you over here to give your fake condolences for Carl.
Iris:  Well excuse me for being concerned.
Devin Lucas:  What did you decide about Amanda’s merger proposal?

    HOSPITAL EXAM ROOM
    Amanda waits with Matt.
Matt:  Come on Amanda I’m not three you and mom don’t have to wait here with me.
Amanda:  Will you let me be concerned about you?  I am your sister.
Matt:  I’m fine okay.  I don’t even know why I agreed to come here.
Amanda:  Because mom and I weren’t gonna give up until you did.
A nurse walks in with a chart.
    Nurse:  This is...Matthew Cory?
    Matt:  Yep.
    Nurse:  Is this your…
    Matt:  Sister.
    Nurse:  Well sister…
    Amanda:  Name’s Amanda.
Nurse:  Amanda I’ll need you to wait outside.  I need to examine your brother.
Amanda:  I’ll be right out here.
Amanda leaves the room as the nurse retrieves a blood pressure strap.
Matt:  Before you poke and prod me, can I get your name?
    Brianna:  Oh sorry.  Brianna.
    -----------------------------------------
    OUTSIDE THE ROOM
    Amanda talks to Rachel.
    Rachel:  How’s Matthew?
Amanda:  Stubborn as always.  Anything on Iris yet?
    -------------------------------------------
    Iris:  I haven’t decided yet.
Devin Lucas:  Well you need to make some type of decision because I’m sure Amanda’s offer’s not gonna stay on the table.
Iris:  If I accept this offer, KBAY could become a powerful company.
Devin Lucas:  But you and I were supposed to take over the company and make it powerful.
Iris:  You have to trust me on this.  I have a place for you in the company.
Devin Lucas:  Doesn’t it make you wonder why Amanda proposed a merger to you?  Out of the blue?
    Iris:  I’m considering everything here.
Devin Lucas:  Sounds like you’re double crossing me.
Iris:  No.  No that’s not it at all.  You have to trust me on this.  I know exactly what I intend to do.
    Devin Lucas:  Which is?
Iris:  You’ll have to wait and see won’t you?
Iris leaves and Devin Lucas makes a phone call.
    Devin Lucas:  Hi it’s me.
The person on the other end is Carl.
    Carl:  So what happened?
    ------------
Devin Lucas:  She did exactly as you said she would.
    -----------
Carl:  You can’t trust her, especially when it comes to Cory Productions.   Don’t worry son, I’ll see to it that Iris will be neutralized.
    ------------
Devin Lucas:  Are you at home?
    ------------
    Carl:  Yes...with your mother.

    CORY MANSION
Carl hangs up and walks back into the living room where Lorna awaits.
Lorna:  What do you plan on doing with what I gave you?
Carl:  Don’t worry your pretty little head about it.
Lorna:  So you’re not gonna let me in on this plan?
Carl:  Not completely, but I will tell you that what’s in this envelope has been twenty years in the making.  It’s time I finally stick it to Grant Harrison.

    PART 1
    CENTER…
John and Sharlene are sitting at a table gazing at each other.
    John:  What are you wearing?
    Sharlene:  Clothes.
John:  So it’s your clothes that I smell?
Sharlene:  It’s must be Gain.  You’ve seen the commercials right?
John:  Oh the guy who is smelling the dog’s blanket.
    Sharlene:  Mi towel su towel.
John:  I think it has something to do with the perfume.  It’s driving me crazy.
    Sharlene:  Is it now?
John:  If it was legal to do it outside,  I would.
    Sharlene smiles.
Sharlene:  If you didn’t have to get back to work…
John:  This day is just getting better and better.
Sharlene:  What happened at the hospital?
John:  I hired a new RN.
Sharlene:  You are on a roll aren’t you
    John:  Yep.  Brianna Jameson.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    HOSPITAL EXAM ROOM
Matt is having his vitals taken by Brianna Jameson.
    Brianna:  128 over 74.
    Matt:  Is that good?
    Brianna:  Yeah.
Matt:  So can I go now?  I got work to do at the office.
Brianna:  Are you one of those all work no play guys?
Matt:  Haven’t had much time for leisure.  Why?
    Brianna:  I...I just...never mind.
    Matt:  No what is it?
Brianna:  I recently moved to Bay City.
    Matt:  Really?  From where?
    Brianna:  Philadelphia.
Matt:  Philly huh?  Big city life got to ya?
Brianna:  Any good places to go for single gals like me?
Matt:  I would tell you but then you would probably miss out.
    Brianna:  How?
Matt:  You know there are...places in town that I couldn’t tell where to go and how to get there, but I definitely know the way.
    Brianna smiles.
Brianna:  That means you’d have to take me.
Matt:  That means you’d have to let me.
Brianna:  I think...that could be arranged.  Provided you take care yourself.
    Matt:  So what’s my prognosis?
Brianna:  You’re dehydrated.  You need to drink more fluids and eat something.
Matt:  You have better beside manner than a lot of doctors.
Brianna:  Flattery will get you...somewhere.  I’ll get the doctor.
Brianna jots down Matt’s vitals on his chart, places it in the bin that holds the charts, and leaves the room.
    -----------------------------------------------
    OUTSIDE THE EXAM ROOM.
Brianna gets a phone call on her cell phone and she answers.
    Brianna:  Hello?....Oh…Are you sure?
    She takes a deep breath.
Brianna:  Okay I’m coming up there.
    ----------------------------------------------
    AT THE MONTGOMERYS
With Marley lying on the couch.  Tyrone opens the door to Vicky.
    Tyrone:  Hey Vicky.  Come in.
Marley:  Hey sis.  Glad you stopped by.
Vicky:  Yeah uh...guess my little nephew’s enjoying the warmth of your belly.
Marley:  I’m not technically due yet.
Tyrone:  The actual date is in a couple days.
Vicky:  If you don’t deliver they’re gonna have to induce labor right?
Marley:  Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.
Vicky:  I remember when I was pregnant with the twins.  Jake waited me hand and foot, and I wasn’t even on bed rest.  Those were the days...when we were happy.
    Marley:  Vicky is everything okay?
Vicky:  Well, if the girls stop fighting each other, Jake decides to rethink the divorce,  and Steven decides not to date Joy, everything would be perfect.
    Tyrone:  Steven’s dating who?
Vicky:  Joy Kramer.  The one and only.
Marley:  Is he crazy?  He needs to get away from her before she hurts him.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ALSO AT THE CENTER…
Steven sits across the table from Joy…
Steven:  I think it was over there where you dropped your cell phone.
Joy:  No your cousin caused me to drop it.
Steven:  Oh did I hit a nerve?
Joy:  Yeah because I loved that phone.
Steven:  So you don’t like the phone I picked out?
Joy:  That’s not what I said.  Stop putting words in my mouth.
Steven:  So what can I put in your mouth?
Joy:  That smooth tongue will do for now.
Steven gets up, leans over and plants a kiss on Joy, who reciprocates.
    Steven:  Wait.
Joy:  What is it?   You’re not finished kissing me are you?
Steven:  No, but I didn’t get an answer.
    Joy:  To what?
Steven:  Being my date to Carl Hutchins’ party.
    -----------------------------------------------
BACK AT THE HOSPITAL…Maggie, wearing a white lab coat, walks into the exam room with a chart, where Matt is buttoning his shirt.
    Maggie:  Oh it’s you.
Matt:  I’m happy to see you, too Dr. Winthrop.
Maggie:  So you had a dizzy spell at the office.
    Matt:  It was nothing.
Maggie:  You need to rest and stay hydrated.
Matt:  There’s been a lot going on at Cory Productions.
Maggie:  And you need to let someone else handle things for now.  You need to be away from work for a few days.  Doctor’s orders.
    Maggie looks at Matt’s chart.
Matt:  Can you send that nurse back in?
Maggie (looking at the chart):  Brianna Jameson?
    Matt:  She was really nice.
Maggie:  You need to concentrate on taking it easy and getting some rest.  You can focus on Brianna Jameson some other time.
    ----------------------------------------------------
    DOOR
Brianna walks up to a doctor who is standing at this door.
Doctor:  You’re the next of kin, so we called.
Brianna:  What’s going on?  Is it?
Doctor:  Yeah it’s time.  I think it would be comforting for her last moments to be spent with you.  I’ll leave you two alone.
Brianna pushes the door open, and walks slowly toward the person in the bed.  She pulls up a chair, sits at the bedside, and clenches the person’s right hand.
    Brianna:  Mama?  Mama it’s Ellen.
The person lying in the bed is Taylor Benson.  Taylor has tubes hooked up to her nose, as her monitor beeps. She opens her eyes and smiles.
Taylor:  My sweet girl.  I’m so glad to see you.

      PART 2
Tyrone:  That girl’s gonna ruin his life.
Marley:  Call him.  I’ll talk to him.  I’ll happily fill him in on everything that Joy did to us.
Vicky:  No...no that won’t be necessary.
Marley:  Why not?  We have to tell him what she’s capable of.
    Vicky:  I’ve tried that.
Tyrone:  I take it didn’t work huh.
Vicky:  No.  Unfortunately it didn’t.  Steven is hung up on her
    -------------------------------------------------------
    Joy:  Carl Hutchins?
Steven:  You’ve never heard of him huh?
Joy:  No not much actually.  Just bits and pieces, but I have heard of the Cory Mansion.  Thomasina told me about it.
    Steven:  How is she?
Joy:  I talked to her on the phone.  She’s in great spirits.  She’s doing so much better.
    Steven:  Glad to hear that.
Joy smiles and gazes into Steven’s eyes.
Joy:  You know I didn’t think I’d stay in Bay City when I came.  I thought it was going a bit of a pit stop for me.
Steven:  I’d like to think I had something to do with changing your mind about it.
Joy:  Well, I certainly didn’t expect this.
    Steven:  Expect what?
    Joy:  Liking you this much.
Steven:  You make it sound like it’s a bad thing.
Joy:  Noooo that’s not what I mean.  It’s actually a great thing.  Things are...finally gonna go my way.
Steven:  I don’t care what my mother says about you.
Joy:  So I’m sure Vicky’s told you about what happened between Tyrone and me.
Steven:  And I don’t care.  That occurred in the past.  This is now, and all I know...right now...is that I feel so lucky to have met you.
    Joy:  Me, too.
Steven leans over and kisses her.

    -----------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, John and Sharlene observe Steven and Joy…
    Sharlene:  Look at them.
    John:  Is that my nephew?
Sharlene:  Sure looks like it.  My goodness he’s all grown up.  It just amazes me how all the kids are grown now.  Our own child.  Charlie, Kirkland.    Time sure has flown.
John:  And I wanna spend all the rest of my time with you.
Sharlene:  You know Gregory is such a blessing to us.  He probably saved my life.
    John:  How?
Sharlene:  The day I gave birth to him in the shed.
John:  How could I forget?  How could I forget anything that…?
Sharlene:  Mood killer aren’t I?  I guess Taylor Benson is gonna be etched in our memories forever.

    AT THE HUDSONS
John and Sharlene are on the couch.  John is sitting up while Sharlene lies in his lap.
Sharlene:  That never gets old does it?
    John:  What?
Sharlene:  You making love to me.
John:  I will never tire of that.
Gregory walks in and observes his parents.
Gregory:  Man, this is the happiest I’ve seen you two in a long time.
Sharlene:  We look therefore we are.
John:  Your mother and I have gotten close all over again.  Feels much better this time.
Gregory:  That’s...that’s great.  I wish I could feel that way about Lindsay.
Sharlene:  Do you wanna talk about it honey?
Gregory:  If I’m California, she’s New York.  That’s how close Lindsay and I have been lately.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    STACEY’S APARTMENT…
Lindsay and Charlie walk in with their shopping bags.
Lindsay:  That was great.  Oh my God.
Charlie:  If I had enough money I would have brought this dress in three different colors.
Lindsay:  The one you picked out was perfect.
Charlie:  I kinda got what they call buyer’s remorse.  I should have gotten the baby blue one.
Lindsay:  Oh come on we’re not gonna regret anything okay.
Charlie:  Except...for the way I treated my husband earlier.
Lindsay:  You know you’re very lucky to have a husband like Kirkland.  He’s so protective of you.
Charlie:  But there’s nothing to protect me from.  When I saw him arguing with his mother, I saw something different.  He didn’t want to crash the wedding reception.
Lindsay:  Sometimes it’s guilt by association.
    Charlie:  Not always though cuz.
Lindsay:  But didn’t he hide the fact that he was Christy’s son until that day they came to Tops?  He was a barista at the coffee shop.
Charlie:  The more I talk to Eric, the more I find out that he’s not like his mother.
Lindsay:  I dunno.  You have to be on your husband’s side with this.  If Kirkland wants you to stay away from Eric, then I think you should at least consider it.  Kirkland loves you.
Charlie:  I hope that Kirkland isn’t jealous of Eric or something.  He knows how much I love him.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------
    CHRISTY’S SUITE
    Eric walks in.
Christy:  Son it’s so good to see you.  Thanks for coming.
    Eric:  What’s up mom?
Christy:  You’re still mad at me aren’t you?
Eric tries to fight his angry front, but to no avail…
Eric:  No, I’m not.  I just don’t want people to look at me differently because of what we did at Tops.
Christy:  Honey I’ve been trying to tell people that it wasn’t your idea, but we can’t control what they think.
Eric:  I’m meeting some...nice people here in Bay City.
Christy:  Like who?  Charlie Winthrop Hudson?
Eric:  And K.C. Burrell.  She’s pretty cool.
Christy looks at him with pursed lips.
Christy:  Eric baby, your mother knows more than you think.
    Eric:  Know what?
Christy:  You turned over the evidence you stole out of Grant Harrison’s house to me.  All I have is proof that Grant bankrolled Evan Frame’s scheme in St. Croix, but you kept something.
Eric:  Mom what are you talking about?
Christy:  It has to do with Kirkland Harrison doesn’t it?
    -------------------------------------------------------------------
    HOSPITAL
Kirkland is in an exam room, and sees Ryan, who again is dressed in blue jeans, sneakers and a button shirt.
Kirkland:  I still can’t believe you angels wear regular clothes.  Are you the new wave?
Ryan:  What were you expecting exactly?  Was I supposed to be flying through the sky with huge wings?
    Kirkland:  Sorry.
Ryan:  You know, kid, you showed a lot of courage coming here today.
Kirkland:  I’m worried.  What if I don’t get the result that I’m looking for?  What if I’m HIV positive?
    A doctor walks in.
Doctor:  Hi Mr. Harrison.  I have the results.

    PART 2
Charlie:  Kirkland and I went through a lot to get where we are.  I’m not gonna throw that away over a disagreement.
    Lindsay:  Of course not.
Charlie:  And I’m gonna show him.
Lindsay:  I like the sound of that.
Charlie:  But I think you should take some of your own advice...and work things out with Gregory.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    AT THE HUDSONS
Sharlene:  She’s probably trying to process the fact that she can’t have children.
Gregory:  Why won’t she let me help her?
John:  Because she’s pushing you away right?
    Gregory:  Yeah.
John:  I’m sorry Gregory but I have to be honest.  I never had a great feeling about Lindsay Winthrop.
Gregory:  That’s not what I need to hear right now dad.
John:  She lied about her reasons for coming to Bay City in the first place.  When you questioned her she pushed you away then, too.
Sharlene:  John I don’t think you’re being fair.
John:  Come on Sharlene, this girl is always playing with his emotions and it’s not right.
Sharlene:  I don’t think Lindsay’s doing that.  I think she just needs some space.  Give her time.  She’ll come around.
Gregory:  Looks like she doesn’t mind someone else occupying that space.
John:  What are you talking about?
Gregory:  Lindsay seemed just fine chatting it up at the Center yesterday.
    Sharlene:  Who was she with?
Gregory:  She was with Charlie and her uncle.
Sharlene:  Charlie’s uncle?  When did Morgan get to town?
Gregory:  Not Morgan Winthrop.  I’m talking about Carl Hutchins’ son, Devin Lucas Hutchins.
    Sharlene:  Carl has another child?
Gregory:  Right, and it looked he and Lindsay were getting along just fine.  She sure wasn’t pushing him away.
    --------------------------------------------------------------
Lindsay:  I don’t want Gregory treating me like I’m so fragile because I’m not.
Charlie:  Of course you’re not, but I hope you weren’t pushing him away.
Lindsay:  Yeah I...I was, but I’m still dealing with this.
Charlie:  Linds you can’t let it take you out.  You can’t let it destroy what you have with Gregory.
Lindsay:  Why would he still want me?  I can’t even have children.
Charlie:  I don’t think he cares about that.  He loves you, and you have to let him do that.  It’s pretty much what you told me about Kirkland.  You’ve got to let Gregory love you, just like I’m going to let Kirkland do the same for me.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
    Kirkland:  So...what are they?
Doctor:  We didn’t find any of the virus in your system.  You’re negative.  I would recommend coming back in six months for another test.
Kirkland:  Thank you doctor.  Thank you so much.
The doctor leaves and Ryan appears again.
    Kirkland:  Thank God.
Ryan:  I’m glad kid.  You dodged a bullet.
Kirkland:  I feel relieved that I’m HIV negative, but why don’t I feel like I’m out of the woods yet?
Ryan:   Because you’re afraid of Charlie finding out about your past relationship with Scott Granger, and you sleeping with the bartender at the Genoa City Athletic Club.
Kirkland:  I love her and I don’t wanna lose her.
Ryan:  Then trust in the love that you two have.  That should get you through whatever fears you have.
    Kirkland:  I do trust her.
Ryan:  I’m not so sure about that.
Kirkland:  What do you mean?  Of course I trust her.
Ryan:  You can’t keep lying to Charlie.  It’s only gonna get worse.  ---------------------------------------------
Eric:  Mom I didn’t keep anything.
Christy:  Don’t lie to me honey.  I love you...no matter what.  Nothing is going to change that.
Eric:  Mom what are you getting at?
Christy:  When I walked into the coffee shop one day, you were paying particular close attention to Grant Harrison’s speech on the Religious Freedom Law, especially the part where he said was against gays and lesbians being discriminated against.
Eric:  Why can’t I want equality for everyone?
Christy:  Because you’re one of them.  You are using K.C. Burrell to hide your sexuality.
    Eric:  I’m not doing that!
Christy:  Eric honey it’s okay.  Whether you’re gay or straight I still love you.  I will always be your mother.
    Eric:  Mom…
Christy:  You’re using Charlie to get to Kirkland aren’t you?  Kirkland is the one you want.
Eric:  You think you’ve got everything figured out.
Christy:  I know you kept the evidence of him having sex in Genoa City with another man...and I want you to use it to keep him off my tail.
Eric is stunned at Christy’s request.
Eric:  Of course it’s all about you isn’t it?
Christy:  If you use that evidence, then we’ll both get what we want, because I’m sure that Kirkland hasn’t told Charlie has he?
    Christy smiles.
Christy:  Opportunity’s knocking.  All you have to do is open the door.
    Eric:  Opportunity?
Christy:  We stand to benefit from this.
    Eric:  Again...about you.
Christy:  Honey, you are about the only thing I’ve ever done right in my life.  You’re my baby that I held in my arms.  You cried and cried, and with every scream, my love for you grew.  After Douglas and James made me give you away, I was never really the same after that.  I always felt a void in my heart.  I’ve been given a second chance.
Christy puts her right hand on Eric’s left cheek.
Christy:  I love you.  All I want for you is to be happy.  I want you to have everything your heart desires.  I don’t want you to turn out like me.  I want you to live a happy, productive life.  I want more for you, so yes, this is about what I want.  What I want is what’s best for my son.  Whatever it is you want, you need to go for it.
    Eric walks to the door.
    Christy:  Where are you going?
Eric:  Gonna go out to think.
Eric opens the door, and Grant greets him.
    Grant:  Eric.
    Eric:  You’re Kirkland’s dad aren’t you?
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
Ryan:  One lie is gonna turn into another and another, and it’s the lies that are gonna break up you up.  The longer you keep lying, the more you destroy the trust.  The best chance for you to save your marriage...is to tell Charlie the truth.
    Kirkland nods his head.

    CORY MANSION
Carl walks slowly into the living room, and he looks around, as if to take in as much ambiance of the place as he can, because he doesn’t have much time left.  Rachel walks in and observes her husband with his back turned, but Carl feels her presence.
Carl:  This living room...this place.  So much has happened in here.  I’ve had the privilege to live in it.
Rachel:  It was meant.  You were destined to be here.  Everything has come to this.
Carl:  Tomorrow night, I’ll announce to all of our family and friends, that I have a brain tumor.
    Rachel massages his shoulders.
Rachel:  I know you do meditation, but I’ve never seen you this nervous.
Carl:  I’m not trepidatious about me.  I’m just thinking about the children.
Rachel:  The children are going to be okay.  They’re gonna lean on each other.
Carl:  They’re all going to need you.
Rachel:  And you can rest assured I’ll be here for them...all of them.
Carl:  They’re all on my mind, but Devin Lucas is the one I need you to...love up on.  You know?

Cory and Elizabeth are sitting at a table sipping coffees.
    Cory:  One more day.
    Elizabeth:  Don’t remind me.
Cory:  At least they told us first.
Elizabeth:  It doesn’t hurt any less.  I can’t bear the thought of losing daddy again.
Cory:  Neither can I.  We gotta get through it somehow.
Elizabeth:  Daddy came back to us last time but this seems like it’s final.
Cory:  Why did this have to happen again?
Elizabeth:  If you can answer why the sky’s blue then you can answer that.
    Cory:  We gotta...stick together.
Devin Lucas walks up to them.
    Devin Lucas:  I agree.
    Cory:  And who are you?
Elizabeth:  Dad didn’t tell you huh?
    Cory:  Tell me what?
Elizabeth:  This is our big brother Devin Lucas Hutchins.

    CHRISTY’S SUITE
    Grant walks in.
Christy:  Grant what do you want?  And don’t forget to invite yourself in.
Grant:  You are really one piece of work aren’t you?
Christy:  I’ve been called worse I’m sure.
Grant:  You forget who’s paying for this suite.  I should be able to walk in anytime I want.
Christy:  And I can go to the police anytime I want with the dossier that proves you bankrolled Evan Frame’s reign of terror.
Grant:  You are really spoiling my mood.
Christy:  Oh here we go again.  Let me guess, Paulina left the dashing, handsome detective Jack Snyder...for you.
    Grant smiles.
Grant:  That day is closer than you could ever imagine.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    PAULINA’S HOUSE
Paulina opens the door and sees someone holding a bouquet of flowers in front of his face.
Paulina:  Hmmm who could that be?
Jack moves the roses and smiles at Paulina.
Jack:  Is the lady of the house in?
Paulina:  It depends on who those beautiful roses are for.
Jack:  Alright you got me.  They’re for you.
    Paulina:  Thank yoouuu.
Jack gives them to Paulina, and he follows her inside as she places the roses in a vase with water.
Jack:  There’s something I came here for.
    Paulina:  Hmmm for what?
Jack:  I was wondering if you wanted to have breakfast with me tomorrow morning.
Paulina:  I think that could be arranged, but who says breakfast has to be in the morning?
Jack:  What other part of the day did you have in mind?
Paulina wraps her arms around Jack and looks up into his eyes.
Paulina:  Eating is good in all parts of the day.
    Jack:  Eating out you mean?
Paulina:  Well...since you mentioned breakfast and all that, I was hoping for a nice, juicy piece of sausage.
Jack:  Is it the kind that...plumps when it cooks.
Paulina:  I used to co-own a restaurant.  I learned a thing or two about prepping meals.
Jack:  Any place you’re at is a nice place to...eat out.
    They kiss passionately.

    GRANT’S HOUSE
Kirkland walks in and calls out for Grant. “Daaad ya here?”  He walks to the back and doesn’t see his father.  He turns to leave but notices something on Grant’s desk.
    Kirkland:  What’s this?
There is something on the ledger that catches his eye.

    PART 2
Jack and Paulina lie in bed.
Paulina:  This gets better and better.
Jack:  I’ll never get tired of it.
    Paulina:  Reminds me of…
Jack:  That was a long time ago.  This feels different.  More mature.
Paulina:  More than we were back then.  You know I hate that...that you are going through a separation with Carly.  I feel like I might be responsible.
Jack:  Look, don’t start that.  Carly and I were having problems long before we…
    Paulina:  Before we what?
Jack:  Fell in love again.  Truth is, Paulina, I always loved you.  Funny how we found each other again.
Paulina:  You found me fighting with my sister in the Bay City Center fountain.
Jack:  It seems like everything came back.  Everything I felt back then.
    --------------------------------------------
Christy:  You’ve been saying for the last fifty years it seems.  Do you still have all of your teeth?
Grant:  Not even your snarky little jokes are gonna hamper my mood.
Grant picks up the jump drive and looks at it with confidence.
Grant:  Jack and Paulina better enjoy every little moment they have together, because I’m about to blow them to bits, and claim the woman I’ve always loved.
    ----------------------------------------------
Paulina:  Me, too.  It was like time fast forwarded.  Don’t get me wrong.  I have two wonderful children and I had a great husband, but I’m here...now....with you.
Jack:  I don’t regret anything that happened between now and then, and I don’t regret anything that’s happening now.
    Paulina:  What about Carly?
Jack:  Carly gave me two beautiful children and a great ride for the time that she did, but it seems that it’s over.
    Paulina:  A great ride huh?
    Jack smiles.
    Paulina:  How about this rollercoaster?
    They kiss passionately.
    -----------------------------------------------
Christy:  I’ll believe it when I see it.
Grant:  Oh you’re going to see it alright.  You’re gonna see Paulina on my arm.  She and Jack will be history after I show him what’s on this drive.
Grant gets a text from Kirkland that reads:  “Can I see you tomorrow?  We need to talk.”, and his mood changes a bit.
    Christy:  Who was that?
Grant:  That was my son.  He says he needs to talk  to me.  I hope everything is okay with him.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
    KIRKLAND’S SUITE
Kirkland puts his cell phone in his pocket, walks up the door of his suite, and flashes back…
    (EPISODE 215)
Ryan:  One lie is gonna turn into another and another, and it’s the lies that are gonna break up you up.  The longer you keep lying, the more you destroy the trust.  The best chance for you to save your marriage...is to tell Charlie the truth.
    Kirkland nods his head.
Kirkland:  I’m gonna tell her.  I’m gonna go tell Charlie everything....right now.
Kirkland flashes back to the present, takes a deep breath, and inserts his key into the slot.  He enters and faces Charlie.
    Kirkland:  Hey babe.
    Charlie:  Hi.
The two stay quiet waiting for the other to talk, and Charlie breaks the silence.
Charlie:  Look I’m sorry.  I’ve been thinking all day and...you were right.
    Kirkland:  About Eric?
Charlie:  You are just trying to...be a good husband to me, and I’m grateful and I appreciate it.
Kirkland:  Yeah...I love you so much Charlie.
Charlie:  I know...more so now than ever.
    Kirkland:  Babe it’s....something I need to…
Charlie:  No...there’s nothing you need to do.  All I want you to do is let me make it up to you.
Charlie kneels down, unbuckles his pants and…
    Kirkland:  There’s something I...I…
Charlie stops Kirkland by starting fellatio, then she rises up.
    Charlie:  Make love to me.
    -------------------------------------------------------
    Cory and Devin Lucas meet.
Cory:  So you’re the famous Devin Lucas?
Devin Lucas:  The one and only.
Elizabeth:  Well I kinda always wanted a big brother.  I didn’t know Ryan or Evan.
Devin Lucas:  I didn’t know any of you.

    PART 1
Kirkland and Charlie are lying in bed.  As Charlie sleeps, Kirkland picks up his cell phone off the night table and it reads 7:35am.  He swipes to a picture of the ledger he took while at his father’s house:

Kirkland (thinking in his mind):  I gotta find out what that’s about.  Why did Christy go to Salem?
    --------------------------------------------------------------
    CHRISTY’S SUITE
Someone is ringing the doorbell.  The alarm clock on Christy’s night table reads 8:56am, and she emerges from the bathroom holding her stomach as she goes and answers the door.  Brianna Jameson walks in.
Brianna:  What’s wrong with you?  Are you okay?
    Christy:  I’m...I’m fine.  Cramps.
    Brianna:  That’s a sign.
Christy:  I know that.  That means it’s time, and I hope you’re ready to do your part.
    -------------------------------------------------------------
AT THE WINTHROPS...Maggie checks her cell phone as the time reads 2:42pm as she rings the doorbell.  Cass answers the door.
    Cass:  Heeeey.
    The two embrace.
Cass:  My God it’s so good to see you.  Come on in.  It’s about time you came and saw your old man.
Frankie walks into the living room.
    Frankie:  And your stepmother.
    Maggie:  Frankie.
    She and Frankie embrace.
    Frankie:  Hey honey.
Maggie takes out her car keys.
Cass:  Why do you keep pressing that button?
Maggie:  I’m trying to lock my car.
Frankie:  Oh you don’t have to do that out here.
Cass:  Unless you left food in there.
    Frankie (smiling):  Yeah, the animals.
Maggie:  It’s a brand new car.
Cass:  So what did Cecile buy?
Maggie:  My mom didn’t buy anything.  I mean I am a doctor now right.  I can afford such things.
Cass:  That’s riiiiight.  Have you started yet?
Maggie:  No...I start tomorrow.  I just had to come see you guys.
Cass:  And I’m happy that you came.
Frankie:  You know Cass and I are going to the Corys tonight.  You need to come with us.
Cass:  Rachel will be happy to see you.
Maggie:  Yeah sure but I gotta find something to wear, oh my God.  What time does the party start?
Cass looks at Frankie unsure how to answer Maggie’s question.
Cass:  What did the text say?
Frankie:  I’ll have to look at it.  I think you’ve got plenty of time though.
Maggie:  Well let me get outta here.  I gotta get something.
Cass:  I’ll text you with the time.
Maggie:  Sure sure.  I love you.
Frankie:  We love you, too honey.  Drive safe.
Maggie leaves and Frankie watches her from the door, and Cass joins her, and rubs her shoulders.
Cass:  Look at her.  She’s come such a long way.
Frankie walks back into the living room and Cass shuts the door.
    Cass:  What’s wrong?
Frankie:  I can’t shake this feeling Cass.  Something is off.
Cass:  What do you think it is?
Frankie:  I don’t know.  I can’t put my finger on it.
    -----------------------------------------------------------
Maggie gets inside of her car.  She smiles, turns the car on and the time reads 3:17pm and suddenly, unseen from the back seat, Brianna sticks a needle in Maggie’s neck injecting her with a strong sedative, and it knocks her unconscious.
Brianna:  Should’ve locked your doors Maggie.
    ------------------------------------------------------------
BACK AT CHRISTY’S SUITE…The alarm clock now reads 4:06pm.  Christy answers the door and it’s an unwelcome visitor, Kirkland, who walks right in.
Christy:  I didn’t invite you in here.  At least I know you’re not a vampire.
Kirkland:  No I’m not, and I’m not out for blood, but I want some answers.
    Christy sighs with exasperation.
Christy:  To what?  A test?  Go to Bay City University.
Kirkland:  I’m not talking about an exam, but a limo ride to Dr. Weston the day after my wedding reception.
Christy:  I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Christy turns away from Kirkland, sensing he just might be on to something.
Kirkland:  You crash my wedding reception.  You and my dad exchange this weird look as if you know each other.  Then you take off to Salem, and get this suite on my dad’s dime?
Christy:  You’re just getting warm aren’t you?
Kirkland:  That’s a question only you can answer, and I’m not leaving here until I get it!
CAMERA PAN ON KIRKLAND...SLOW FADE TO THEME SONG
    -------------------------------------------------------------
    PART 2
Christy:  Well that’s interesting, because I also think it’s time you get your answers.  It’s time you find out the real reason I stayed in Bay City.
Kirkland:  You can start from the beginning.
Christy:  Oh I’m not gonna tell you the story.
Eric walks in and shuts the door.
Christy:  My son is, and it’s time for me to leave you two alone.  If you’ll excuse me.
Christy leaves Eric and Kirkland alone.
Kirkland:  What the hell is this?  Some type of set up.  Ambush?
Eric:  No, not exactly like that.
Kirkland:  So you’re gonna tell me why your crazy mother stayed in Bay City when she could have left after my dad got her out of prison.
Eric:  I’ll tell you what you need to know.
    --------------------------------------------------------------
OUTSIDE CHRISTY’S SUITE...Christy gets a text that reads “I’ve done my part.”
    Christy:  It’s time.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
Kirkland:  What?  That’s why she went to Dr. Weston?
Eric:  Yep.  You got the pure unadulterated truth.  Most of it.
Kirkland:  Didn’t know you had it in you.  You did the right thing Eric.  Now I can tell Cass and Frankie what Christy’s up to.
    Kirkland turns to leave.
Eric:  Not so fast.  Don’t you wonder how my mom got all the evidence that links your dad to Evan Frame?
Kirkland stops as he realizes the gravity of what Eric is talking about.
Eric:  After all it was locked in your father’s living room safe.  It was so easy to break into.  My mom needed some leverage, something to make your father work his magic.
Kirkland:  You were the one who broke into my dad’s house.
Eric:  Yep it was me, and I gave the evidence to my mom.
    Kirkland:  Where is it?
Eric:  Now you know I can’t tell you that.
Kirkland:  That’s the least you can do.  You can get from under your mother.  You don’t have to be like her.
Eric:  But I am.  It’s like you told K.C.  I come from a lineage of sociopaths.  I’ve embraced that about myself.
Kirkland:  I was right about you.  You’re a lunatic.
Eric:  I’m not a lunatic, but I am crazy...crazy about you.
    Kirkland:  What?
Eric moves closer to Kirkland and comes face to face with him.
Eric:  Don’t act surprised Kirkland.  When I stole the evidence from your father’s living room, I kept something for myself and believe me when I say, I really enjoy watching it.  Over and over.
    Kirkland:  You freak!
Eric:  Oh you’re gonna see...just how much of a freak I am.
Kirkland:  You’re dating my cousin to cover up your sexuality?
Eric:  Isn’t that why you married Charlie?
Kirkland moves away from Eric, but Eric follows him.
Kirkland:  You want sex don’t you?  I’m not cheating on my wife.
Eric:  You’re gonna give me what I want.
Eric walks over to his mother’s laptop, sticks a flash drive in the USB, and plays it.  The footage of Kirkland having sex with the bartender at Genoa City Athletic Club, and Kirkland watches in amazement.  As Kirkland walks to the laptop watching this video, and Eric walks up behind him.
Kirkland:  What do you want from me?
Eric whispers in his ear and massages Kirkland’s crotch.
Eric:  You know what I want.  I want a taste what that bartender tasted.
Kirkland grabs Eric hand, takes the flash drive, and moves it away from his crotch.
    Kirkland:  And if I don’t?
Eric:  Then Charlie is gonna get a copy of this, and I don’t have to tell you what will happen after that.  Oh keep it.  I’ve got plenty of copies.  You could have another career on your hands if this went viral.  A lot of gay men, will want a taste of your frank.  I know I do...as often...as I can.
Eric unzips Kirkland’s pants, looks down, and looks back in Kirkland’s face.
Eric:  There we go.  I knew you wouldn’t disappoint.
    --------------------------------
    BACK AT THE WINTHROPS
Frankie is in the living room, fully dressed in a gray pants with an off white blouse.  She looks at her watch which reads 6:36pm.  Cass walks in dressed in a navy blue suit, shirt, tie and shoes.
    Cass (sighs):  Are you ready?
Frankie:  As ready as I’m ever gonna be.
    Cass:  You seem tense.
Frankie:  I am.  Something is just not right.
    Cass:  Maybe it’s Carl.
    Frankie:  That’s...part of it.
Cass:  I sent the text to Maggie about the party.
    Frankie:  Did she respond back?

    CORY MANSION
Someone rings the doorbell and Carl, dressed in a white tuxedo, answers the door and Grant walks in.
    Carl:  Grant Harrison.
    Grant looks around.
Grant:  Where is everyone?   This doesn’t look like a party.  Am I early?
Carl:  No not at all.  As a matter of fact, your punctuality is very much appreciated.  You’re right on time.
Grant:  Is this some kind of game you’re playing because if it is…
Carl:  No Grant this is not a game, but I assure you, what I’m about to do will be a whole lot of fun.
    Grant:  And what is that?
Carl takes an envelope out of his inside jacket pocket.
Carl:  This...is about what you took from me twenty years ago.
Grant:  Are you still angry about Ryan?
Carl paces while he recalls his version of the events…
Carl:  At the train trestle.  Your mother lead everyone there.
Grant:  I thought Ryan was trying to…
Carl:  The whole thing was about you.
Grant:  I needed to know where Kirkland was.
Carl:  You shot my son in the back like a coward and killed him.  You took Ryan away from me; from Victoria; from Kirkland.
    Grant:  Kirkland had a father!
Carl:  You are no kind of father.  You took my son away from me in the most cowardly way, but I’ve had the distinct and utter pleasure...of keeping yours from you.
    Carl holds up the envelope.
    Carl:  This...is about your child.
    Grant:  Kirkland?
    Grant starts shaking his head.
Grant:  No.  No.  Are you trying to say that Ryan is Kirkland’s biological father?
Carl smiles deviously as Ryan, dressed in blue jeans and a buttoned up lumberjack shirt, watches, and only Carl sees him.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AT KIRKLAND’S SUITE...Kirkland is front of the mirror’s common area.  He flashes back to what Ryan told him.
    (EPISODE 215)
Ryan:  One lie is gonna turn into another and another, and it’s the lies that are gonna break up you up.  The longer you keep lying, the more you destroy the trust.  The best chance for you to save your marriage...is to tell Charlie the truth.
Kirkland flashes back to the present and he hears Charlie.
    Charlie:  Well...what do you think?
Kirkland turns around and sees his wife is a fitted forest green dress with white high heeled shoes, and her hair in a bun.
    Kirkland:  You look...stunning.
    Charlie smiles.
Charlie: I knew you’d like it.
Charlie walks up to him and they kiss.  Meanwhile, Kirkland has another flashback…
    (EPISODE 217)
Eric:  Then Charlie is gonna get a copy of this, and I don’t have to tell you what will happen after that.  Oh keep it.  I’ve got plenty of copies.  You could have another career on your hands is this went viral.  A lot of gay men, will want a taste of your frank.  I know I do...as often...as I can.
Eric unzips Kirkland’s pants, looks down, and looks back in Kirkland’s face.
Eric:  There we go.  I knew you wouldn’t disappoint.
Kirkland flashes back to the present.  He then faces Charlie
    Charlie:  Are you alright?
    Kirkland:  Yeah I’m...I’m great.
Charlie:  We gotta get to the Corys.
    Kirkland:  Right.
    --------------------------------------------------
    CORY MANSION
Cory is in his bedroom buttoning up his white dress shirt as someone knocks on the door knocks twice.
    Cory:  Come in Lizzie.
Elizabeth walks in and leaves the door ajar.  Elizabeth is wearing a light gray dress.
    Cory:  Hey.
    Elizabeth:  Are you ready?
    Cory:  I dunno.
Elizabeth:  I have to be honest with you.  I’m not.  I’m not ready to say goodbye to daddy again.
Cory:  I’m not either, but we don’t have much of a choice do we?
Elizabeth:  It’s like they’re giving up.  Especially mom.  She didn’t give up last time.  This time, it’s like she’s just throwing in the towel.
Cory:  Mom and Dr. Matthews did everything they could to help dad.  The tumor is just too aggressive.
Elizabeth:  He came back last time didn’t he?  Didn’t our brother Evan save his life?
Cory:  Lizzie give it up!  We can’t save dad this time!
Rachel peeks in and walks in.
Elizabeth:  I’m not so ready to give up on daddy like everyone else.
Rachel:  None of us are, but sometimes we have to accept what is.  Your father has an aggressive brain tumor, and nothing we’ve tried has worked.
Elizabeth:  Well you should try harder.  Seems like you’re just waiting for dad to die.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MEANWHILE, in the Cory Mansion living room, Carl walks to the bar and pours himself a drink while Grant follows closely, and so does spirit Ryan, unseen to Grant.
    Carl:  A drink?
Grant:  What the hell kind of sick game are you playing Carl?  You talk about my son and you want to drink to that?
Carl:  That’s because you think I’m talking about Kirkland.  I would never hurt that boy.  He turned out way more decent than you could ever dream to be.
Grant:  Kirkland is the only child I have.
Carl:  No Grant.  You have another child out there.
    Carl gives Grant the envelope.
    Grant:  What is this?
    Carl:  Go ahead.  Open it.

    PART 2
CAR...Kirkland is driving with Charlie in the front passenger’s seat.
Charlie:  I went shopping with Lindsay yesterday.
Kirkland:  Oh that sounds good.  How’d that go?
Charlie:  She picked this dress out for me.  I had no idea what I was gonna wear.  I wanted to choose something that you’d like, especially after that fight we had.
Kirkland:  I wouldn’t call it a fight.  A disagreement maybe.
Charlie:  Well I finally saw your point of view, and I love you for it.  I realized how much you love me.
Kirkland:  I...I do love you...so much.  You have brought so much positivity to my life.  I was full of hate and contempt for my dad before I came back.
Charlie:  Well if you’re trying to give me credit...don’t.  When I came back home I…
Charlie stops herself as if she’s going to say too much.
    Kirkland:  You what?
Charlie:  I had fences to mend with my mother.  She stayed away from Bay City after we thought she was killed by Fax Newman.  I only shared with you what my experiences were.
Kirkland:  And I appreciate you for that.  My dad and I are good now, and I do have you to thank for that.
    Charlie smiles.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carl, with drink in hand, walks toward the double doors leading to the gazebo, while Grant, who is behind him, looks over the contents of the envelope…
Grant:  This says I’m a match for this person’s father?
    Carl:  You would be correct.
Grant:  But it doesn’t say who the person is.
    Carl:  Again, you’re correct.
Grant:  So you’re playing a game again.
Carl:  This is no game Grant.  You see, I don’t have much time left, and I thought I would leave you with a parting gift.
Grant:  You’re dying?  Ha!  Evil like you never dies.
    Carl:  This is it Grant.
Grant:  You know who my child is don’t you?
    Carl:  Yes..I most certainly do.
Grant:  Tell me where I can find them.
Carl:  Now that...I’m not going to do.
Grant:  How do I know this is even authentic?
Carl:  Go ahead Grant.  Verify it.  You’re gonna have to think long and hard about the possibility of this child.  I have to say...it gives me great satisfaction to do this after you took my son from me.  After you shot my son in the back on the train trestle!
Grant:  Tell me where my child is!
Carl laughs as to tell Grant that he is not going divulge any information.
Grant:  Tell me where my child is!
Toni Burrell, in police uniform, walks in with two other officers.
Toni:  Is everything okay in here Carl?  Is Grant threatening you?
Carl:  No...as a matter of fact he was just leaving.
Toni:  Come on Carl, I’d love to haul his ass in after everything he’s done.
Grant:  That’s fine.  I’ve got someplace else to go anyway.
Carl:  Good luck on your mission Grant.  It won’t be as difficult as you think.  Now get out.
Toni and the officers stare at Grant.
Toni (to one of the officers):  See that he gets out.
One of the officers escorts Grant out as Toni approaches Carl.
Toni:  We just came by to make sure everything was fine.
Carl:  Yes.  Everything...is as it should be.
Toni and the other officer leave the living room and Carl and then Ryan speaks.
Ryan:  You’ve been holding on to that for a long time haven’t you?
    Carl:  He’s your coward brother.
Ryan:  I guess this is your way of letting it go.
Carl:  I suppose you could say that.
Ryan:  I’m glad you did.  Even he deserves to know the truth.
Carl:  Did you really think I was going to tell him?  He has no idea how close he is to finding his child.  He’ll figure it out.
Ryan:  I get the feeling that the last thing you’re concerned about is Grant’s offspring.
Carl:  You’re exactly right.  I’m concerned about my children, especially Cory and Elizabeth.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Cory:  Lizzie stop it.
    Rachel:  That is not true!
Elizabeth:  You could have gone overseas.  You could have done something to stop the growth.
Rachel:  If there was another way don’t you think we would have found it and used it by now.  You have to accept it.  Carl is going to die.
Elizabeth:  Why?  Why are we going through this again?
    Rachel:  I don’t know honey.
Cory:  We gotta be strong Lizzie.  Dad doesn’t want us moping around feeling sorry for him.
Elizabeth:  Is that what you think I wanna do?  I just don’t think we’ve done enough to save him.
    Carl walks in.
Carl:  Let me speak to my daughter alone please.
Cory and Rachel look at each other...and walk out.
Carl:  Elizabeth...stop it right now!  Your mother did everything she could.  Dr. Matthews did everything he could.  There’s nothing else we can do to stop the tumor from growing.
    Elizabeth starts to cry.
Elizabeth:  No dad I dont wanna believe that!  I can’t bear to lose you again.
Carl:  You’re so young; so beautiful; so ready to take on the world.
    Elizabeth:  Not without you daddy.
Carl’s eyes start to well up.
Carl:  Yes my darling daughter...you can do it without me.   Your mother always used to tell how much you were like Ada.  So strong willed; so determined.  Rachel said Ada was her rock, and you’re gonna have to rely on your mother.
Elizabeth:  No daddy don’t talk like that!

Party at The Corys Part 3
    Grant confronts Jack

Carl and Rachel are in their bedroom.  Carl walks out of the bathroom, and sees Rachel on her laptop wearing a white sequin dress.
    Carl:  You look exquisite...as always.
They hug and Rachel lets out a deep breath after the embrace.  She looks her husband in his eyes.
Rachel:  You were great with Elizabeth.
Carl:  That wasn’t easy at all.  You know how our daughter can be.
    Rachel:  I almost understand it.
Carl:  She had to know that you are not the blame for this.
Rachel:  Thank you.  I was hoping this...day would never come.  This party; this evening; none of it.
Carl:  We’ve gotta tell everyone and I’m at peace with it.
Rachel:  Well I’m not.  The people we love are gonna be hurt.
Carl:  We can’t let this get the best of us.  You are the rock...for all of us.
Rachel:  I hate that we have to tell our friends and the rest of our family.  Felicia…
    --------------------------------------
    AT THE BLAKE’S…
Mitch walks into the living room, where Felicia is looking at her laptop.
Mitch:  Hey we gotta go to the Corys soon right?
Felicia:  Yeah right.  I’m just checking to see if there’s any movement on my movie deal.
Mitch walks over, slowly closes the computer, and kisses Felicia on her forehead.
Mitch:  Let’s...go to the Corys, and you can worry about the movies later, and you’re sweating.
    Felicia:  Oh it’s just...nerves I guess.
    Mitch:  Stress about the movies?
Felicia:  You could say that I suppose.  We’ve been invited to a party and I haven’t told Rachel that I accepted Iris’s offer.
Mitch:  I’m sure she’ll understand when she finds out.  Let me go get the keys.
Mitch walks back into their bedroom and Felicia looks at her right hand, and it’s shaking.
    ----------------------------------------
    Rachel: (V.O.):  Paulina…
    ----------------------------------------
    AT PAULINA’S
Paulina walks downstairs in a white slightly glittered dress and matching open toed heels.
Jack:  My my.  You look great.  Can you take it off?
Paulina:  As much as I’d love to do that, we gotta get to the Corys.
Jack:  Do I really have to go to this party?
    Paulina:  Yes you doooo.
    Jack:  Darn.
Paulina:  Rachel and Carl are the parents I never had.  You know how I grew up.
    Jack:  Foster homes.  I know.
    Paulina:  Well if...you don’t want to go…
Jack:  Come on Paulina.  Of course I wanna go with you.
    Paulina:  Are you sure?
Jack:  I’m ready to let Bay City know that we’re together, but first I gotta go to the station.
    Paulina:  Work work work.
Jack:  No I’m just checkin up on Dante.
Paulina:  He texted me and told me that he’s enjoying the job.
Jack:  Yeah it’ll be something real quick.  Gonna check over his work, then I’ll get dressed and be on my way to the Corys.
Paulina:  I wish Dante could finish his training in Bay City.
Jack:  He doesn’t have that long to go.  He’ll be back home before you know it.
Paulina:  You’re gonna bring my son home to me.
Jack:  That’s not all I’m gonna bring to you.
    Paulina smiles.
    Paulina:  Hmmmm.
    They kiss.
    ----------------------------------------------------------
    Rachel: (V.O.) Donna, Michael.
    ---------------------------------------------------------
LOVE MANSION...Donna, dressed in a baby blue glittered dress, walks into the foyer.
Donna:  Bridget we’re leaving soon!  You’ve got five minutes!
Bridget is upstairs in her bedroom and she’s applying her lip gloss, then she stands up and looks in her vanity mirror.  As she primps her hair, and admires her light green dress, she notices something in the background….the used condom.
Bridget:  How did that get over here?
    --------------------------------------------------------
    IN THE LIVING ROOM...
Michael, who is wearing a navy blue suit, white shirt, and sky blue tie and black dress shoes, is on his cell phone.
Michael:  Hey Stace it’s me.  Just thought I’d check on ya.  Hope you and Lindsay are doin’ well.  I’ll speak to you soon.
Michael turns around and sees Donna.
    Michael:  You look great.
Donna walks up to him and slaps him.
Michael:  Hey what was that for?
    Donna:  Stacey Winthrop?  Really?

    PART 2
    Michael:  Donna…
Donna:  We’re about to go together to a party for Carl and Rachel and your’e calling Stacey Winthrop?
Michael:  She’s trying to get through a difficult time.
Donna:  And you just have to be there for her huh?
Michael:  Donna you’re jealous for no reason.
Donna:  No reason?  You two dated years ago.
    Michael:  Exactly Donna...years ago.
Donna:  She has Cass and Frankie to help her get through whatever she’s going through with her daughter.
Michael:  How can you be so cold?  Stacey needs a friend.
    Bridget interrupts them.
Bridget:  Ummm...are we ready to go?
Donna turns around, gathers herself, and smiles.
Donna:  Of course we are honey.  Let’s go to the Corys.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carl:  I just can’t help but to think about Cory and Elizabeth.
Rachel:  I don’t want to worry about them.  They’re in good hands.
Carl:  I know.  I take comfort in that.  They’ve got a whole family to look out for them.
Rachel:  We’re all gonna miss you, but we’re going to get through it.
Carl:  You’ve got such a...strong support system.  Matthew, Amanda, the children, your friends.
Rachel:  I’ve been blessed, especially with Felicia.  I am so grateful that we’ve been friends for such a long time.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, Mitch and Felicia arrive at the Cory Manse.  Matt answers the door.
    Felicia:  Matthew hi.
    Matt:  Felicia...Mitch.
    Mitch:  Hey there.
Felicia walks to the living room.
Mitch:  So this is the night of the big party huh.  Wonder what prompted Carl to do that.
    Matt:  It’s...it’s a celebration.
Felicia leaves them as they finish.
Mitch:  You know Jasmine texted me.  She wants a new tablet.
Matt:  I told her she needs to focus on school right now.
    Mitch:  Well…
Matt:  Mitch tell me you didn’t...come on.
Mitch:  She’s my granddaughter I can’t say no.
Matt:  I said I would get her a new tablet once she picked her grades up.
Mitch:  She promised me she would do better.
    Matt:  Promises promises.
As they walk to the decorated living room, they notice Felicia at the liquor table.  Felicia is staring down at the liquor.  Now both of her hands are shaking, she’s sweating, and taking deep breaths.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carl:  I also worry about Paulina.  She’s become like a daughter to me.
Rachel:  Me, too.  Just wondering about how things are gonna end up for her with Jack.  He’s still married to Carly.  I really hope she doesn’t get her heart broken.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Paulina walks into the foyer of the mansion and Matt greets her.
    Paulina:  Matthew hi.
    Matt:  Hey you look great.
Paulina:  Thank you.  Where’s your mom and Carl?
Matt:  I think they’re still upstairs.
    Paulina:  This big party.
    Matt takes a deep breath.
    Matt:  Yeah.
Paulina:  What’s going on?  Is everything alright?
Matt:  Yeah uh...I just laid into my father about Jasmine.
Paulina:  Oh.  How is my niece doing?
Matt:  She’s giving me gray hairs and she doesn’t even live here.
Paulina:  Oooh Matthew.  The joys of being a parent.
    Matt:  Oh the worries.
Paulina:  I was blessed to raise Dante, but I didn’t get that chance with Remy.  I wish she didn’t have to grow up the way I did.
Matt:  The important thing is that you were there for her when you could be.  As soon as you knew who she was you were in her life, and she loves you.
Paulina:  I love her, too.  I love both of my children.
    Matt:  Where’s Jack?
Paulina:  He had to stop at the station, but he should be along soon.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------
POLICE STATION...Jack is wearing a dark gray suit, white dress shirt, with no tie.  He’s sitting at his desk on the desk phone.
Jack:  That’s good Dante.  I’m hearing that you’re picking up things quickly.  Soon you’re gonna be good enough to take over the BCPD.  Talk to you soon buddy.
    Someone buzzes Jack.
Jack:  What’s up?  Okay send him in.
    Seconds later, Grant walks in.
Jack:  What are you doing here?
Grant:  Ohh Detective Snyder, this has been long overdue.  Time for us to have a talk.
    Jack:  About what?
Grant:  What do you think?  Paulina.  After this you’re not gonna be involved in her life anymore.
Jack laughs while Grant takes out the jump drive.
Jack:  Grant don’t you have something else to do?
Grant:  Oh you think this is funny.  You won’t be laughing after you see what’s on this.  I can’t wait for you to take a look at it.

    LOVE MANSION
Allen walks downstairs dressed in a black tuxedo, white shirt, and a black bowtie.  He gets a phone call on his cell.
Allen:  Hello?  What?  Oh man that’s...that’s the best news.  My mother is cancer free.  Thank you unc.
He hangs up smiling and Michele opens the door with her key.  Michele is also wearing a sequin dress.
    Allen:  Hey Michele.
Michele:  Hi Allen.  You look nice...and happy.
Allen:  Your Aunt Nicole is cancer free.  That’s the best news.
    Michele:  Wow that’s...that’s wonderful.
Allen:  Hey if you’re looking for Donna and Michael you just missed them.  They left for the party about twenty minutes ago.
Michele:  I actually was looking for Bridget.
Allen:  No Bridget went with them.  What are you doing here?  Shouldn’t you be heading to the party?
Michele:  I left something here.  I just came back to get it.
Allen:  Oh well...I’m gonna hurry up and go meet Amanda.  See ya later.
    Michele:  Sure.
Michele immediately goes upstairs and heads straight for Bridget’s room.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    BRIDGET’S BEDROOM.
Michele looks around and goes straight for Bridget’s laptop.  She sticks a USB in the side, presses a few buttons, and begins to download information.
Michele:  What are you up to Bridget?
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    CORY MANSION
Cory is in his bedroom fixing his bowtie when Bridget peeks in.  Cory turns around and his eyes widen as Bridget is wearing a sequin dress with black heels.
    Cory:  You look...so beautiful.
Bridget walks up to him and wraps her arms around him.
    Bridget:  Thank you Mr. Handsome.
After their embrace, Cory turns back to the mirror and continues to adjust his bowtie.
Bridget:  What’s wrong babe?  Something on your mind?
    Cory:  Tonight’s the night.
    Bridget:  For what?
Cory:  I’m not supposed to tell anyone.  I’ve been keeping it to myself since I got the news.
Bridget:  Cory?  What’s going on?  Is everything okay?
Cory:  You can’t breathe a word of this to anyone.
Bridget:  Of course not, but you’re scaring me.
Cory:  It’s the reason my dad is throwing this party.  He’s gonna tell everyone that he’s dying.
    Bridget:  Oh....oh no...I’m so sorry.
Bridget throws her arms around Cory.
Bridget:  Is there anything I can do?
    Cory:  You’re...doing more than enough.
    Bridget:  Does anyone else know?
    Cory:  Well Devin already knew.
    Bridget:  Devin?  Who’s Devin?
Cory:  My half brother.  Long story.  Mom and dad told Lizzie, Matt and Amanda.  I don’t think they told Paulina or Frankie though.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frankie walks up to the front door of the Cory Mansion and she is talking on her cell phone with Cass who is in his car.  He is talking through the car’s bluetooth.
Frankie:  When do you think you’re gonna get here?
Cass:  I’m on my way.  I had to stop at the office for a quick minute.
Frankie:  Well...please hurry.  I...I need you.
    Cass:  Frankie what’s going on?
Frankie:  I’m not feeling great about...anything.  Ever since Maggie left the house.
Cass:  Honey just go in, mingle a bit.  That should take your mind off of whatever it is you’re feeling.
Frankie:  I’m real nervous about tonight.  Some things are going to happen, and they won’t be good.
Cass:  Go inside.  I’ll be there in a minute okay.
    Frankie:  Love you.
    Cass:  Love you, too.

Brianna has a cell phone, and a picture of Maggie, who is bound, gagged, and unconscious lying on a cot.   She sends the picture, along with text, to someone.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cass, who is walking toward the front door of the Corys, gets an alert.
    Cass:  What the…?
It’s the picture of Maggie, and a text that says:  If you want to see your daughter again, come down to the warehouse downtown...alone.
    Cass:  No...Maggie?

    PART 2
    LOVE MANSION
Michele is on Bridget’s computer sifting through the information that she downloaded onto the USB she stuck in the side of the laptop, and she is shocked what she sees.
              Michele:  That...bitch!
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bridget:  They told the family first.  Wow I’m so sorry.  I know you just got your dad
back.  Now you’re gonna lose him again.  I don’t know what to say.
Cory:  It isn’t fair you know?
    Bridget:  It’s not.
Cory:  My dad fought so hard to come back to us, and now he’s gonna be taken
away again, and he’s not coming back this time.
Bridget:  I wouldn’t even know what I’d do if I lost my dad.
Cory:  You would do what I would do; be there for you.
Bridget:  I wish there was something I could do to keep your dad for you.
Cory:  His brain tumor is spreading rapidly.  There’s nothing anyone can do.
Bridget:  Oh Cory.  I’m so sorry.
Cory:  I would have told you sooner but my mom and dad didn’t want us to tell anyone.
Bridget:  I understand.  Hey maybe if we....go downstairs it’ll help you feel a little better.
Cory:  I’ll think I’ll...stay up here for a minute.
Bridget:  Okay.  I’ll go to the gazebo.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, downstairs in the foyer, Matt is on his cell phone facing the living room.
Matt:  Hey Nurse Brianna.  It’s Matt Cory.  Just givin’ you a call, and see when you want that personalized Bay City tour we talked about at the hospital.  Talk to you later.  Gimme a call back.
Matt hangs up, turns around and greets Frankie, who flashes a pensive smile.
    Matt:  Frankie hey.
    Frankie:  Matthew.
Matt:  Oh no, something’s definitely on your mind.
    Frankie looks around.
Frankie:  Hey have you heard from Maggie?
Matt:  No, but I’m sure she’ll be along shortly.  Why?
Frankie: I don’t...I don’t know how to explain it.  Something’s wrong.
Matt:  Oh...come on she’s probably just taking her time getting dressed.  Call her.
    Frankie:  Good idea.
Frankie takes out her cell phone and calls Maggie’s phone.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ROOM
Brianna looks at Maggie’s phone vibrating.  Brianna presses “ignore”.
Brianna:  Maggie’s not available to take your call right now.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Frankie:  No answer.
Matt:  Frankie you seem really nervous.
Frankie:  She came to our house earlier, and ever since she left, I haven’t felt right.  Something is wrong.
Matt:  Have you talked to Cass?
Frankie:  He said he was on his way.  He should be here by now.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    WAREHOUSE
Cass walks into a dimly lit room, looks around.
Cass:  Maggie!   Maggie where are you?
Suddenly, Christy, dressed in all black, walks into the room behind Cass.
Christy:  You don’t get to see Maggie yet.
    Cass turns around.
Cass:  You!  What the hell have you done with my daughter?
    Christy:  Don’t worry, Maggie’s safe...for now.
Cass grabs Christy’s arms and shakes her.
Cass:  If you hurt Maggie I’ll kill you..
    Christy:  Let me go!
    Cass:  Where’s Maggie?
Christy:  You will see Maggie again, provided I get what I want.
Cass:  I knew you were up to something.
Christy:  And now you’re gonna find out.  The whole reason why I stayed in Bay City after I got out of that criminal mental facility.
Cass:  I don’t care.  I wanna see Maggie.
    Christy:  Maggie is safe.
Cass:  I’m gonna have you arrested for kidnapping.  I’m calling the police.
Christy:  If you want to see your daughter, you will put that phone away.
Cass:  Tell me where she is!
Christy:  I’m not telling you yet, not until I get what I dreamed of ever since I was committed.  It’s why I killed Douglas.  I had to get him out of the way.
Cass slowly puts his phone away as Christy begins to tell a story.
Christy:  All of his attempts to get me to see reality; telling me that I shouldn’t be in love with you.  I got tired of him telling me that.  Doesn’t he realize that the heart wants what it wants!
Cass:  You didn’t love me.  You were obsessed with me!
Christy:  When I danced in Mary Frances’s wedding dress, I envisioned you and I...married.  Then we would do the things that married people do.  A house; black picket fence.  I hate white fences.  They get dirty way too easily and they’re too much maintenance.  After all of that, we would have a child.
Christy reaches into her pocket and takes a small cup out.
Christy:  When I got taken away to that facility, I wondered how it would ever happen, but here we are.
Cass:  Get to the point Christy!
Christy:  It’s time Cass.  It’s time for me...to have a baby.

    Allen:  What’s up cuz?
    Vicky:  Hey.  Hi Amanda.
    Amanda:  Hi you look great.
    Vicky:  Thank you.  Likewise.
Allen:  Did you hear the news?
    Vicky:  No what?
Allen:  Uncle Peter called me earlier.  He said that my mother is cancer free.
Vicky:  Wow that’s wonderful!  That is such great news.
Amanda:  That is.  I’m gonna go outside and call Alli.
    Allen:  Okay.
They kiss on the lips and Amanda goes upstairs.
Vicky:  That is the greatest news Allen.  I’m so happy for you.  Aunt Nicole beat cancer.
Allen:  I’m so happy.  I get to spend more time with my mom.  So...what’s in the envelope?  Gift for Carl and Rachel.
    Vicky:  No it’s…it’s for Jake.
Allen looks past Vicky and sees Jake.
    Jake:  Is that right?
Vicky turns around and looks at Jake.
Allen:  I’ll leave you two alone.
Vicky:  Let’s go outside and talk.
    ------------------------------------------
    FRONT OF THE CORY MANSION
Jake:  Is that what I think it is?
Vicky gives him the envelope and Jake opens it and reads the contents.  Jake takes a deep breath.
    Jake:  Yep.
Vicky: I’ve already signed it.  All you have to do is sign and turn it to the courts.
    Jake:  This is final.
Vicky:  This is what you wanted right?  A divorce?   Well you got it.
    Michele walks up to them.
Michele:  A what?  You guys are getting a divorce?  It’s because of Bridget isn’t it?

    MEANWHILE...…
Frankie is on her cell phone out near the gazebo.
Frankie:  Cass where are you?  I’m waiting for you to arrive and I’m getting worried.
Frankie hangs up and Felicia walks up to her.
    Felicia:  Frankie?  Is everything okay?
Frankie:  I don’t know.  Cass said he was on his way.
Felicia:  You know how Cass is.  I’m sure he’ll be here any minute.
Frankie:  That was about a half hour ago.  I can’t shake this feeling that something is off.  I wish he’d get here.

    WAREHOUSE…
Christy reaches into her pocket and takes a small cup out.
Christy:  When I got taken away to that facility, I wondered how it would ever happen, but here we are.
Cass:  Get to the point Christy!
Christy:  It’s time Cass.  It’s time for me...to have a baby.
Cass:  A baby?  You stayed in Bay City to get pregnant?  That doesn’t make any sense!
Christy:  I went to Oakdale to see Dr. Weston.
Cass:  Dr. Weston?  He’s the guy from that Swiss Clinic…
Christy:  Yes he tried to speed up the aging process for Carly Snyder, Rose D’Angelo, and Emily Stewart.
Cass:  I don’t think you wanted to see him because you wanted to get old.
Christy:  No Cass, I want to get pregnant.  He gave me fertility treatments, and I circled this date ever since.  He told me it would happen around this time.  I would experience cramping.
Cass:  Christy for God’s sake will you tell me what’s going on?
Christy:  Are you really this stupid?  I’m ovulating!
    Christy shows Cass the cup.
Christy:  And all I need to get pregnant...is sperm....your sperm.
Cass:  What the...you’re out of your mind if you think that I’m gonna give you my sperm so you can get pregnant!
Christy extends the cup to Cass.
Christy:  Sorry but you really don’t have much of a choice.  Maggie’s freedom depends on it.
Cass:  So that’s your huge plan.  Your whole reason for staying in Bay City?
Christy:  You got it.  Now go give me a sample.  I don’t have any books.  Think of Mary Frances.  Or better yet, think of me.
    Cass:  No way…
Christy:  If you want to see Maggie again, you’ll do this….now!

    OUTSIDE OF THE MANSION…
Jake:  Honey it’s nobody’s fault okay.
Vicky:  Honey let’s go inside.  Your dad and I are done here.
Michele:  Mom you...you can’t let this happen.
Vicky:  Sometimes...it’s better to let some things go.
Vicky and Michele enter the mansion.  As they open the door, Paulina is there.
    Paulina:  Vicky, Michele.
    Vicky:  Excuse us Paulina.
Paulina turns to look at Jake holding the papers in his hands.
Paulina:  Is that?  Oh.  Jake I’m so sorry.
    Jake:  Don’t be.  It’s time.
Paulina:  Did Vicky just give you those?
Jake:  Yes, but I don’t wanna focus on this right now.  Where’s Jack?
Paulina:  Jack should be on his way.  He had to stop at the station real quick.
    ------------------------------------------------
    POLICE STATION, JACK’S OFFICE
Jack:  I laugh because you’re one huge joke.  Why should I look at anything you have to give me?
Grant:  Because your future depends on it, especially if it went viral.
Jack:  Is this your latest ploy to keep me away from Paulina?
Grant:  You will thank me.  Go ahead.  Take a look.
Grant gives Jack the jump drive.   Jack smiles.
Jack:  If this gets you out of here.
He sticks it in the USB of his desktop and is shocked.
Jack:  What?  Where the hell did you get this?
    Grant smiles deviously.

    PART 2
Grant:  I don’t see you chuckling now.  I knew you would enjoy the slideshow.
    Jack:  This isn’t real.
    Grant:  Oh it is real.
    Jack:  This was…
Grant:  A part of your past?  Those things have a way of coming back don’t they?
Jack:  I wanted to help her.
Grant:  Paulina?  You didn’t help her at all.
Jack:  You think this is gonna make Paulina love you?
Grant:  I have to remove the obstacle keeping me from her, and that’s you.
Jack:  So you’re gonna put this all over the internet?
Grant:  Well the statute of limitations has long run on out on that...crime you and Paulina committed, but if I put it on the web, you would be out of a job.  In fact you would never work in law enforcement again.  You wouldn’t even be able to get a job as a security guard!
Jack:  You claim to love Paulina?  You want to hurt her like this?
Grant:  Of course not, that’s why I’m not going to let it go viral.  That decision really is up to you.
    Jack:  How is that?
Grant:  Carly, your daughters in Oakdale.  That’s where you should be.
Jack:  So you had my family in mind when you got a hold of this?  Spare me the concern.
Grant:  Go and work things out with your wife.
Jack:  Or you’ll post this on FacePage?  You’re pathetic.
Grant:  No.  What’s pathetic is that you’re a baby seller.  Did you see the last page?
Jack slides to it and is further shocked.
    Jack:  DNA test.
Grant:  What would everyone think?  Your family, your friends in Oakdale...that you sold an infant girl on the black market?  What would they think if they found out...that the little baby you sold to Scooter Carruthers on the black market that night...turned out to be Remy Woods?
    Jack:  Remy Woods.
Grant:  Yes.  Remy Woods.  The girl that grew up in Foster homes, and came to Bay City as a con artist.
    Jack:  Shut up!
Grant:  Remy and Paulina don’t even know who her father is, and that Remy’s father...is right here.  Right in front of me...you!

Frankie:  It’s not like Cass not to call if something has happened.  I gotta go and find…
    Felicia touches Frankie’s wrist.
Felicia:  No...don’t do that.  I’m sure Cass just got held up.  He will be here.
Frankie:  Felicia you’re shaking.  You’re sweating, too.  Are you okay?
    Felicia has a flashback
    (EPISODE 219)
As they walk to the decorated living room, they notice Felicia at the liquor table.  Felicia is staring down at the liquor.  Now both of her hands are shaking, she’s sweating, and taking deep breaths.
Then she flashes back to the present.
Felicia:  Hot flashes more than likely.
Felicia stares inside and looks directly at the liquor on the table.
    -----------------------------------------------------
Cass gives Christy the cup, and Christy examines it.
    Christy:  Hmm.  Okay.
    Cass:  Now where’s my daughter?
Christy:  You’ll have to go back to the Corys to see her.
Cass:  She’s been at the Corys the whole time?
Christy:  You should go now.  I’m sure Mary Frances is worried about you.
Cass:  If you’ve done anything to hurt my daughter, I will come after you.
Christy:  Oh Cass, and don’t think about calling the cops.  You have no proof that I did anything.  Besides, Maggie has staged her own kidnapping before.
Cass rushes off and Christy makes a call to Brianna, whose back is turned to a bound, gagged, and unconscious Maggie.
    Christy:  I got it.
    Brianna:  Wow really?
Christy:  You can drop Maggie off at the Corys.  Your secret remains safe.
Christy hangs up and makes another call.
Christy:  Dr. Weston it’s me. I have what we need...to make a baby.
    --------------------------------------------------
    ROOM
Brianna hangs up and notices Maggie is starting to come to.  Brianna grabs another needle full of a sedative and runs over to inject Maggie.
    Brianna:  No.
Maggie is unconscious again after another injection by Brianna.
    -------------------------------------------------
Grant:  What’s the matter Jack?  Nothing to say?
Jack:  You think Paulina’s going to love you after this?

Devin Lucas smiles, then has another flashback…(EPISODE 208)
Devin’s smile quickly fades as he flashes back to the present as Lorna, dressed in a fucha glittered dress and heels.
    Lorna:  Are you ready?
Devin Lucas:  To hear dad tell everyone he’s dying?  I dunno if I wanna hear it again.

    Lindsay:  Gregory I’m so sorry.
Gregory:  No.  Not it’s me.  I shouldn’t have been so pushy.  You weren’t ready to talk…
Lindsay:   I was a complete ass.
Gregory:  Let’s forget about that, and go to this party.
Gregory extends his arm and Lindsay locks hers with his.

Donna and Michael are standing near the double glass doors that lead to the gazebo.  Michael is looking around.
Donna:  What are you looking for?
Michael:  Looking for our family members.
Donna:  Are you sure you’re not looking for Stacey?
Michael:  Oh Donna we’re not gonna do this here are we?
Donna:  I caught you calling her on your cell phone before we left.
Michael:  This party is for Carl and Rachel.  Can we be civil for their sake?  Look there’s Bridget.
Bridget walks up to her grandparents.
    Donna:  Hi.
    Michael:  Hey sweetheart.
Michael pecks Bridget on her right cheek.
Donna:  Have you seen your mother?  Your sister?
Bridget:  No.  I’m gonna go outside for a minute.
    Donna:  Okay dear.
    --------------------------------------------------------
    GAZEBO
Bridget walks out and sits on the bench.  Michele quickly comes out and steps in front of Bridget.
    Michele:  You conniving little skank!
Bridget:  What?  You’re wearing the same dress!
Michele:  It looks better on me doesn’t it?
Bridget:  I have no idea what you’re talking about.
Michele:  You posted it on FacePage you bitch! You said that I hope I don't cut myself if I see you and your BF out together. Something like that.
Bridget:  That’s because you’re not the saint that everybody thinks you are!
Michele:  I knew it.  You’re jealous, and you always have been.
Bridget:  Ever since you came back, you’ve been plotting against me haven’t you?  Did you really think I was gonna sit by and let you get the best of me?
    -----------------------------------------------------
    CORY’S BEDROOM
The door is open.  Cory sits on the bed and stares up at the ceiling, and Elizabeth comes in and sits next to him.
Elizabeth:  Thinking about dad aren’t you?
Cory:  Yeah of course I am.  We just got him back you know.
    Elizabeth:  It definitely isn’t fair.
    Cory:  Not at all.
Elizabeth:  I haven’t seen mom and dad all night.
Cory:  I’m sure they’re still in their room.

Rachel:  It’s like I have to hear the news again.  You have a brain tumor.
Carl:  My beautiful, darling wife.  We’re all going to be fine.  We’re strong, we’re resilient.  You’ll see downstairs.  All the support we have.  Let’s go darling.

    PART 2
Michele:  Is that why you slept with Cory?
Bridget:  I slept with Cory because I love him.
Michele:  You don’t love anyone but yourself.  You did that to get back at me.
Bridget:  Eww I wasn’t even thinking about you during…
Michele:  That’s the whole reason you did it.  When Cory finds out…
Bridget:  What are you gonna do?  You’re gonna take him away, too?  Why can’t I have something?  You have everything!
Michele:  I’ve got nothing because of you and everything you did.
Bridget:  What makes you so damned special?  Mom and dad gushing over your grades.  You had Cory.  I have to scratch and claw to get mom to notice me; to get her to love me!
    Michele:  Looks who’s crazy.
Bridget:  Mom humiliated me at your memorial service.  Do you know how much that hurt?
Michele:  And I did that to you?
Bridget:  Yes you did!  You did this.
Michele:  If you hadn’t tried to spike Cory’s drink at the prom; if you hadn’t kept my acceptance letter from me then maybe mom would give you the benefit of the doubt!  But you keep pulling stunts.  That’s why they’re divorcing!
Bridget:  What?  Mom and dad are getting a divorce?
Michele:  That’s right, because of you!  This whole family has fallen apart because of you.
    Bridget:  No.
Michele:  I have brain damage.  I couldn’t read, I lost Cory...because of you!  And I’m gonna make sure you get everything you deserve.
    Bridget:  Yes you’ve lost Cory.
Michele:  We were supposed to be together.
Bridget:  But it didn’t happen that way did it?  I had him, and you didn’t.  Doesn’t that make you...mad...crazy?
    Michele:  You bitch!
Michele grabs Bridget’s hair and pulls her to the ground.  Bridget manages to pull Michele to the ground.  The two are wrestling, and rolling.  Michele manages to get on top of Bridget and punches her in her face.  Bridget then scratches Michele, and they roll over again.  Bridget is on top of Michele, and starts slapping her.  Michele grabs Bridget’s hair again, and pulls her to the ground again.  Michele grabs Bridget’s head, but before she can bang her head on the ground, Jake grabs her, effectively stopping the fight.  Donna, Michael and Vicky walk out, and the other guests look on.  Jake has subdued Michele and Michael has grabbed Bridget.  Bridget and Michele are both bloodied and kicking.
Jake:  Stop this you two!  What the hell is going on here?
Michele:  I’m gonna get you bitch!
    Bridget:  Come and get me!
    Donna:  Oh my God.
Vicky:  Michele are you okay?  What did you do to her Bridget?
Bridget:  Of course you take her side.  She started all of this!
    Michele:  You started it!
Michael:  Let’s get em outta here.
Jake and Michael escort Bridget and Michele out of the gazebo in opposite directions.

    Steven:  Take your jacket?
    Joy:  Thank you.

    (EPISODE 174)
Back at the Monticello Police Station Interrogation Room, Reginald gives instructions to Joy...
Reginald: You don’t want Thomasina to get sick again do you? Get me my great grandson.
As she flashes back to the present, Steven rejoins her.
Steven:  Where were you just now?
Joy:  Oh.  Thomasina sent me a text.
Donna and Vicky walk into the foyer talking.
Donna:  When are we going to do something about the girls?  Look what happened out there.
Vicky:  That’s why Bridget is living with you.  I think she needs help.
Donna and Vicky both stop when they see Steven and Joy.
    Steven:  Hey mom.  Grandma.
Donna:  Honey.  Hi it’s good to see you.  Joy.
Joy:  Donna Love?  You were the owner of that club that burned down right?
    Donna:  The Harbor Club?
Joy:  Steven you didn’t tell me Donna was...your grandmother.
Vicky:  This night just gets better and better doesn’t it?
Steven:  Good evening to you, too mom.
Donna:  Joy, why don’t we go into the living room?
Vicky takes Steven to the side.
Vicky:  What the hell are you doing here with her?   After what she did to Marley?
Steven:  We’re gonna be together mom.
    Vicky:  You can’t be serious!
    --------------------------------------------------------------
Devin Lucas and Lorna walk in, and Felicia and Mitch greet them.
    Lorna:  Mother.
    Felicia:  Honey you look fabulous.
    Lorna:  Thank you.
    Devin Lucas:  Hi grandma.
    Felicia:  Hi sweety.
Mitch:  Looks like everyone’s here huh?
Devin Lucas looks across the room and sees Gregory and Lindsay laughing.
