They really feel the need to hammer home who exactly Rebecca Budig is playing, don't they?! Why in the world is Ridge addressing her like that, like she's some high-school sweetheart he hasn't seen in 30 years, and not his (multiple) ex-wife and mother to his children. Why doesn't he just say "Doc" which is the way he usually address her....?

I'm sure this will lead to yet another trip on the constantly revolving merry-go-round of Brooke/Ridge/Taylor. That's obviously why Brad Bell brought Taylor back. Brooke will support Hope, naturally because she's her daughter, and Steffy will use that to instantly start working on Taylor to make a play for Ridge, all the while constantly screeching about the Logans.... To call it boring and predictable would be an understatement.

The right would definitely like to get rid of public service broadcasting if they could, but I think that, at least for now, the support for public service is still strong. I know that our most right-wing party would love nothing better than to close it down, so they frequently attack it and claim it's biased and radical left-wing propaganda. They would just love it if all we got was commercial tv full of reality shows and silly comedies. No critical reporting whatsoever. They just hate being questioned and called out on their rasist and misogynistic policies.

Imagine if this channel could upload the entire 1970s.... They've already uploaded 240 episodes, so there's only around 300 left. (Episode 542 was the last Emmerdale Farm episode of the 1970s, airing the 5th of July 1979).

I suppose it's a matter of perspective, but I don't think I've heard the BBC being labeled "rightward leaning" before. They, just like most of the public service networks, are usually accused of being leftist, woke and stuff like that.

I'm not sure I dare to give a link (channels like this has been taken down before) but if you search for Classic Emmerdale Farm you'll find it.

Heather Tom also got an Emmy nomination very shortly after joining B&B as a recast, and she's still around. So I don't really buy that either. It feels like an attempt to pin the blame for Allen's departure on KKL. (I think we all realize that she's the veteran actress they're referring to.)
