  1. PMV would have been a great hire for GL (I know he had a small role but I mean a more permanent part). I might have brought him in as a recast of someone like Johnny Bauer and tried to expand the Bauer family that way.
  2. That's great publicity for Justina. I won't be watching, but I wish her the best.
  3. Amanda could have a real moment with that part, if it's handled properly. 1994 ad with Kimmy Robertson.
  4. @danfling I'm sorry to hear that (and about your father). This has probably been online before, but:
  5. I'm in 1966 with my parents (near the end of the Matthew Morgan story) and while I find the show a bit exhausting (mostly due to David, Burke and Carolyn irritating me), I have been trying to take in Roger as much as I can because I remember that once Barnabas arrives the character soon loses any complexity or purpose. I wonder why the show never did more with the lawyer beau of Vicky's played by Conrad Fowkes. He is oddly prominent in the episodes where Vicky first disappears (after she realizes Matthew killed Bill) - almost as if Burke was intended for that part. I know Mitchell Ryan was having his issues... Jason was a very one-note character and could have used a reduction in airtime, even if the story was compelling.
  6. I get the feeling from what she's said that Lacey is happier backstage than she was in past years, as she is apparently very good friends with James Bye. It's just a shame that the show has squandered Stacey so much to where it's going to take an incredibly strong team to rehab the character.
  7. NBC is repeating Chadwick Boseman's SNL episode tonight (in the 11:30 slot I believe). https://deadline.com/2020/09/snl-chadwick-boseman-hosted-episode-1234571516/ The 10 PM episode is the episode Maya hosted in 2012.
  8. NBC is repeating Chadwick Boseman's SNL episode tonight (in the 11:30 slot I believe). https://deadline.com/2020/09/snl-chadwick-boseman-hosted-episode-1234571516/
  9. I just saw that. [!@#$%^&*] hilarious.
  10. I wonder at times if Marland was humbled by his unpleasant experience at GL and whatever happened at Loving. I was surprised to see an older interview with him from The Doctors where he basically criticized Julia Duffy for leaving the show as he didn't get to tell the story he planned for Penny.
  11. Not surprised to see in the above comments that NPR is even worse than NYT on this story. Both outlets rely on the GOP and on Trump and aren't subtle about that fact. Sadly many will believe them, even as moments like this prove the story is true:
  12. What that means is Trump will still cut off funding but hopes the media will now ignore the story (which they will). He's lucky that Kelly is so spineless and that we will likely just keep getting off the record sources, which again means the media will lose interest. (I was surprised that someone at Fox News confirmed the story - they must be having a big internal battle these days). Howard Dean says it best: Hopefully their ballots will be treated carefully and safely, and kept away from pigs like Barr and Trump. I had forgotten the military was tied between Gary Johnson and Trump in 2016. Clearly that did not last long. Not sure where they will end up this year. Some in my family who are long retired love Trump, others hate him.
  13. No one has said that as it is still months away, but polls have moved more in that direction in states like North Carolina. Presumably Arizona and ideally Maine and Colorado (minus one with Alabama going the other way) will flip, but after that is going to be much tougher. If I am wrong I will be very happy.
  14. I think McConnell knows there's a good chance Republicans will keep the Senate (polling is heading their way), but he's doing what he can while he can. A part of me is glad Biden is so blunt about that wretched Q cult but it makes me worry for his safety. And I'm not exaggerating. Look at this:
  15. The "both sides are the same" people will turn a blind eye to this, and the media that would sell their entire families for one more day of him in office will turn a blind eye to this, but there is no turning back if he is reelected. Stars and Stripes is something I saw all the time with family members who were military - and now it's just gone, even though we were told over and over these things just aren't going to happen.
  16. I hope he may do a recut of One from the Heart... This happened last year, but they found a 1938 film called As the Earth Turns (wasn't that Irna's original title for ATWT). https://www.king5.com/article/entertainment/an-80-year-old-film-shot-in-seattle-is-finding-new-life/281-19cac4bb-318b-4805-9b2d-ac213589a5d9
  17. Disaffected leftists always need an "establishment" enemy, and a Kennedy who had no reason for running beyond his last name was ripe for the picking for them over a senator who had worked with AOC. It also fits into their longstanding daddy/granddaddy issues. They will hate him soon enough (some have already said they will now hate him since he won and that you need to hate all politicians at all times). I doubt he gives a [!@#$%^&*] and I hope he flushes them all down the toilet they belong in.
  18. Elizabeth Estensen can't film due to her age. Another reason I wish they had waited.
  19. Sad news. That cartoon was so underrated. I loved the arcade game. Did he do the voice there?
  20. If you need a laugh today, here is just one of the meltdowns about the Biden/Harris campaign paying to have their signs available in Animal Crossing.
  21. It's primary day in Massachusetts, where Alex Morse, whose 2018 predecessor isn't even voting for him, who is apparently a poor mayor, and whose campaign only got a boost because of several dubious fauxgressives who really, really don't like the idea of men in positions of power not being able to get sweet pieces of collegiate ass, is probably going to lose to Congressman Richard Neal (who is pretty lousy in his own right). Meanwhile, Joe Kennedy is almost definitely going to be taken to poundtown by Sen. Ed Markey due to bored Bernie people deeming Markey their new magical grampa in spite of, you know, his actual voting record, and due to Kennedy having [!@#$%^&*] all reason for running beyond his last name. (I read a few days ago that Kennedy reportedly decided to run to head off Ayanna Pressley when the seat opens up - well, that worked out well!). Steve Kornacki has spent the day tweeting out old Kennedy victories to, I guess, talk about something on MSNBC other than how bad Biden is. I will say that the ex-Bernie grifters and whoever Markey employs managed to make a much better ad than far left fantasyland types tend to make.
  22. Thanks. The clip was better than I expected. I do wish they had remembered Sandie, but no one does, so what else is new. The mention of Sugden cousins down south interested me. I wonder if that was just to explain why the funeral isn't happening in the village or if they may introduce some of them. Some fans were hoping it might mean the Skilbecks.
