  1. Look everybody - it's time to hear again about how Trump is "outflanking from the left!!!"
  2. Very sorry to hear that. Every time we lose another person tied to the original Dark Shadows it's another small light going out on something that can never be duplicated, no matter how they have tried.
  3. @I Am A Swede I know you won't care for most of this but Emma Atkins does have some kind words about Leah Bracknell. https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/emmerdale/a31992390/emmerdale-emma-atkins-charity-dingle-interview/
  4. Another reason to hate Trump is that it means we get more of these W puff pieces, with, naturally, zero mention of "heckuva job, Brownie" occurring only months before this big revelation. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/george-bush-2005-wait-pandemic-late-prepare/
  5. I read last week about several young black men at, I think, Wal-Mart, who were kicked out for wearing masks. As you said, there's no data, but I read somewhere about the high number of black casualties in the US compared to population amount...you can sort of see that in some of the stories, like when they mentioned the first five NYPD officers who passed away, and all of them were black. And the only governors Trump is giving any serious amount of supplies to are red state governors who have no use for black people. I saw an article last month with Adams, one of those "he's different now because of Trump" articles everyone working for him gets, and they suggested he was able to do some of the right things in Indiana about the HIV epidemic. Considering what a trainwreck Pence's policies were, I can't imagine him letting any real help through to be honest. https://www.thedailybeast.com/has-the-us-surgeon-general-caught-a-bad-case-of-trumpism
  6. I kept trying to think if this is George Palermo (Tony). Probably not...
  7. What a shocker. Bernie's campaign pandering for this ugly racist was one of its death knells.
  8. I needed something to take my mind off Bernie's people playing victim after gaslighting Kamala Harris about her dead mother/more cultists trying to tell us Trump will run to the left and win, and ended up reading about Andrew Yang asking Asian-Americans to show their American ways more. Needless to say, this got a very mixed response. Normally I'd say this type of video is more attention-seeking than helpful, but she adds some genuine emotion to the whole process that a lot of shitposting types on Twitter don't.
  9. That's great to hear. Thanks. And thanks to everybody who mentioned Scott. I skipped around so didn't see him. Glad to see him, and yeah, he still looks good. I'm glad he and Maura are still happy.
  10. I was just thinking of Don Hastings a few days ago. I'm glad he's still doing alright. Such a lovely sight to see on another sad day. I miss so many of the soaps, but I miss GL and ATWT more than ever. They represented the heart and humanity of the country as they were created by a woman who, for better or worse, believed soap opera carried a deep moral obligation. ATWT would have have been right there for us, Penny snapping at Lisa to stop going out to the shops, Grandpa sharing old stories of the farm, Nancy and Chris reminiscing about their early years as a couple, Ellen worrying about Dan and David on the front lines, etc. And of course someone would have died horribly of coronavirus, especially if Irna disliked the actor, but that would have at least been a reflection of life, rather than gangsters and serial killers.
  11. The main problem is, as usual with Kate Oates, burning through story and the awful writing (the actors also visibly struggle with the scripts, for me, as the scripts are often so bad). I've seen a marked decrease in popularity over the last 4-5 months, which is likely one of the reasons that Max Bowden didn't win the National Television Award that he should have had on lock.
  12. I agree. It still annoys me that some tried to shame her for not wanting to return for what would have likely been a lousy cameo propping up a Cartini pet.
  13. Same old bullshit. And the media falls for it every time. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/04/02/white-house-general-motors-defense-production-act-161833 President Donald Trump invoked sweeping war powers last week to demand that General Motors start producing ventilators, but so far his administration has done little to enforce the order. The president's top trade official, Peter Navarro, told POLITICO the administration has not been able to verify whether GM has made any progress since the Defense Production Act was invoked, raising questions about whether the full powers of the federal government are being used to urgently produce ventilators.
  14. A little gif of Jackie from her acting years.
