  1. In, "Why can't America be more like Europe???" news... Congressman Cedric Richmond vs. one of the biggest, oiliest shitslicks around.
  2. It's something that could have been interesting on GH, although not with Ron writing.
  3. That would have been 1987, I think.
  4. @Vee thanks for finding that Ava scene. On the one hand her speech feels a bit generic to me and I can see why some felt her reactions were out of character, but Lisa Peluso sells the material as well as she can. Watching some of the episodes in Randolph's absence reminds me that Ava had a lot going on in her own right outside of Alex, and he can be somewhat suffocating to her as a character. I'm mostly sorry that we never got one last chapter with her, but I guess that was Lisa's choice.
  5. Here's a list of all the trash showing up for his hate rally. I'm sure their money-grubbing prayers will save them from Covid.
  6. I actually preferred Robert Bogue to Mark Derwin (who was garbage for his last 2 years in the role and helped ruin the show for me), but the backstage stuff is so toxic it's hard to get past. I just wish he'd stuck with Dinah as he had a lot of chemistry with her, no matter how much he wanted to play-act with that bad acting Marina recast. At least they got together in the end, I guess. Here's a short Nancy Malone (the Robin after the one we saw in the January 1961 episode) interview. She doesn't say much about her time at GL though.
  7. I thought he was fine enough - charismatic, if a bit on the smarmier side without as much emphasis on sympathetic elements. The decision to make him the heavy in the Rocky and Todd story, and then transferring this over to Rocky and Rio by trying to have Rio deported, was a waste of the character. Sadly Loving seemed to keep making Curtis the heavy in pairings through the '90s - at least with Dinah Lee and Trucker I could say they were fairly compelling, but Rocky...? Eh. Not worth character trashing. The most interesting thing about her pairings were that the guys would have been more compelling if they'd hooked up with each other. (considering her quasi-threesome fantasy I imagine she would agree)
  8. I don't understand why these things have to keep being vomited up in so many threads, with zero moderation. No wonder so many people have left this board.
  9. A very long time coming.
  10. @BillBauer thanks for the 1967 episode. The only one up was in shaky quality so this is a much clearer upload.
  11. already posted, sorry (I posted the original back in April but it probably slipped through)
  12. Not surprised. And sadly, most people won't care.
  13. How bizarre and pearl-clutchy to go on about these shows no longer having bad people. Most of them are still full of scum.
  14. When the media spin about how non-racist the GOP is becoming keeps hitting, just point people in the direction of who the party still caters to: As if I didn't feel sick enough today.
  15. I doubt it would have done much to salvage Quibi, but they missed an opportunity at not having any 10-15 minute soaps on their platform. Instead we got a woman with a golden arm...???? I agree. The 15-minute episodes of GL are popping most of the time - only when we get into stuff like Kathy whimpering about her love life does my interest fade a bit. It helps that these years were when Bert was so riddled with insecurity and was at times so vicious. Charita lights up the screen. I could watch her and Papa all day long.
  16. True. I feel like it was especially bad in the 1795 story.
  17. So many people, goaded by selfish and callous types all over social media and in the GOP, never wanted to sacrifice. They instead just waited until they would have a reason to say "gotcha!" and "hypocrite!" (the usual far right excuse to never do anything to help anyone), even falsely claiming that the BLM protests are why many stopped social distancing or wearing masks even though that had mostly stopped weeks earlier. They do nothing, they want other people to do nothing, then they attack those people when bad things happen because of doing nothing. Look at the scumbag governor of Texas, who is berating young Texans for the spike in cases while also making it harder for masks to be worn in public.
  18. You aren't missing much. She made a tiny, tiny amount of appearances and was then killed off as part of that incomprehensible serial killer story.
  19. Thanks. That's interesting as I felt like Ford went up a lot too (maybe that's why he was written out - that or the marriage to Nancy Barrett...). But looking back at these again I notice a lot of flubs (in the bleeder valve saga the first sheriff can't even say "Burke Devlin"). I guess I forget sometimes how much pressure the actors were under.
  20. Thanks for finding the link. I guess we'll see if any of the actors ever have said anything...otherwise I tend to agree about not being sure to believe blog posts.
  21. I just summarized Soapcentral but I appreciate your kindness. I imagine Gillian would have left, as she never stayed in a soap role too long, but I do wonder what might have been. I think the show ran into problems by the early '70s at not having more complex women in that age range - you just had Sara and then a lot of younger, dewier heroines.
