Funny seeing the seething over this. I was never going to vote for him but the sheer hypocrisy (especially from Bernie people who said nothing when he went on Jimmy "hair ruffling" Fallon) and the bitter self-loathing gay rage that so many like Dale Peck, Masha Gessen and Ben Mora have for him makes me hope he does well.

All thanks to Obama. And after that, Joe Biden winning SC and Super Tuesday. I read a few days ago that Collin Peterson is running for reelection to his MN House district. He's a very conservative Democrat, but they will likely lose that seat when he's gone and we're going to need every see we can get. Something else that wouldn't have happened without Biden winning.

Y&R: Old Articles
I've been rewatching old SNL episodes in time with a blog that recaps them, and one is from spring 2001, with the repulsive Charlie Sheen. Toward the end of this they have another of those interchangeable wacky Molly Shannon characters appearing on Y&R. Chris Parnell is playing an actor on the show. They only say "Eric," but he seems to be doing an Eric Braeden impression. This is already slower than it normally would be because the uploader slowed it down for copyright reasons, but that combined with Parnell's low-talking and lack of energy makes me laugh. It starts about 52 or 53 minutes in.

Linda Gray did several short tourism videos for Dallas last fall. I don't want to clog up the thread so I'll just post the link to the first.

Carole Shelley (RIP) and her delicious hamminess being in the middle of these episodes never fails to crack me up. Christine Jones was absolutely phenomenal in this story. You can't take your eyes off her and you can't help feeling sorry for how broken Janice is.

Bernie endorsed and campaigned for Jackson in 1988 so I guess in some ways it's returning the favor. And they do share more of a view on social matters than he probably has with Biden. Disgusting that grifter Jill Stein is still peddling her trash, and people are eating it up. The recount fund she used to pay for her legal fees was a bigger con than any "DNC conspiracy" - that Bernie cultists are still supporting her speaks volumes.

I know if it had ended up that way it would have been incredibly ugly on social media, but I still wish the last two could have been Warren and Harris.

This is what Brown supporters were doing in 2012: At least Bernie supporters are being very open now about their true feelings.

That makes sense. I'd wondered about AG because there's so much garbage to untangle from the last 4 years.

Very nice. I don't know if I really want her to be stuck in a VP role (not that it's up to me) but she would make a great AG.

Some of those replies were really something - I think my favorite was jeering that she was "angling for a book deal," even though she's a successful author already. I saw Joel Kim Booster in there fighting with people as well. Bernie just breeds toxicity. On the plus side, the lighting will be very dark and we won't have to see Trump or his flunkies.

Warren had a quick and fun cameo on SNL tonight (in another sketch), so of course the discourse is flowing. AOC was smart enough to make a positive comment only for the bros to try to chastise her. Pathetic. I should point out she said nothing about Bernie on the show, nothing about his supporters. Yet you have endless shaming, and people going on about how they're trying to stop their families from being deported and Warren is on SNL instead of campaigning for Bernie in Michigan. Bernie already WON Michigan in 2016. He has endless money and ground game. If you have to beg for Warren's help when, terrific as she is, there is not even any evidence she can help him in a primary or in Michigan, then you have to ask yourself just how strong Bernie's support is, don't you? Bernie's supporters use him for so many of their grudges and they simply drive people away, day after day, month after month, year after year. And they just don't seem to be able to stop themselves.

There's been a lot of backlash on Twitter over Bill Maher's Chris Matthew defense last night (and he and Caitlin Flanagan attacking the victim). This is exactly what Maher has always been - why so many pretend he's some great hero for the left, I don't know.

I've been avoiding any coverage but I keep seeing bits on Twitter. I thought I'd prepared myself for the worst with him but he keeps disturbing me all over again...I saw that he decided to use his press statement to tell people he'd told Pence that he the governor of Washington is a snake and not to be trusted. This is the type of moment I was so terrified we would get during his Presidency. Even if he does lose, if we even have elections by November, the damage is irreversible.

The truth is that Chapo is full of rich guys who profit off of the 'movement' always being out of power. They would never want Bernie to win. Other cultists even admitted yesterday that as soon as Bernie was elected they'd begin to hate him. Most of Bernie's main campaign people are also grifters and deadenders who are better off without him being in power. I also read that beyond the Bernie people mentioned in the tweet, Ilhan Omar, who has pretty much ruined any career she could have had, is a big fan. No surprise there. There are lots of struggling people who have been brainwashed into thinking these very rich con artists are the only viable political or social outlet, and will only further hurt their own cause. They will just slide into anarchy and apathy, which is what many on the far left prefer anyway. There's much more money in it. Most of Bernie's voters will stay home or vote for Trump. Hopefully if Biden gets the nomination, they won't try to make any outreach. It's pointless. Let the Ron Paul of Vermont have his ever-diminishing fame, the way the GOP did, and move on. (the only amusing part of all this is I saw "TV's Frank" talking about how he'd never heard of them and how unfunny they are)

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I watched his exit last week. Very rushed. Strange. I always liked Doug but this last stint never got him right. Still, he had his moments, and at least it was a more positive goodbye than the last time. I'll miss him though, especially his relationship with Laurel.

I had the same thought. And I had the same thought that she and Brian Williams had about what the tweet was saying (this is about the "Bloomberg could have given every American a million dollars" tweet). The fault is more with the producers.

Guiding Light Discussion Thread
Probably down to the Coopers still being a viable family at the time and the show already losing so many names. I do think the recast was a decent actress who had her moments, but they probably shouldn't have bothered. The exit of Eleni running off to California with some man was ludicrous. It would have been more believable if she'd just said she was tired of having to say "Frankie."
