  1. A few days ago I'd read 75K. Is the new one 50k? I've had a hard time keeping track of the different plans. And of course this will all be taxed, so people will be getting, what, half the amount in reality?
  2. It's so sad seeing people have to lie through their teeth so he won't banish them and cause even more people to die. It's incredibly degrading and demoralizing. And many will call these doctors traitors and say they should be out blasting him, but the truth is that won't do any good - he has rock solid support. If any lives are saved by having to not burst his fat head with a pin, then they are doing what they have to do.
  3. That's good to hear about the younger people who are out helping - it's a shame so many are just on social media talking about how they want old people to die, or out partying and getting drunk. They give everyone else a bad name. I couldn't stomach Trump's sham show but I browsed Twitter and saw that yet again Fauci was having to do cleanup duty for him. I am surprised he has lasted this long - I don't think it will be much longer before he's pushed out. Anyway, @Vee this goes along with the Haberman tweet you mentioned a day or two ago, I think. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/mar/21/mike-pence-coronavirus-crisis
  4. I thought he looked genuinely ill in the photos, although that may just be how he looks without makeup. I do think his canceling his livestream show means it's probably true...I have to admit I have the same thought with some celebrities though, including him.
  5. The dead enders got "RIPJoeBiden" trending on Twitter. Such sick people. Whatever happens in November I'm glad they lost and will remain shut out of any voice in society. They can burn in hell.
  6. I did say that about Andy Cohen, probably, but not really in this instance. It's interesting to see the complaints from people in other countries about young people not caring, or about celeb testing, etc. Sometimes I forget these aren't just problems the US struggles with.
  7. True. The livestreams had so many technical problems I thought they may have been waiting for more time to prepare until the last few days of backlash kicked in, but maybe they were always going to try now.
  8. The show barely survived 1995 and 1996. It was nearly canceled, supposedly, in early 1995. The ratings rise in late '95 helped buy some time, but the rumors started again by fall '96 when the ratings crashed. If the Bells had wanted to expand B&B to an hour I think GL would have been canceled. It felt like they were thisclose around that time period to the B&B hour. (they were, of course, smart not to do so - I don't think it would be on today if they had)
  9. I wonder if that's why Joe decided to do this. If so I think it's a mistake - he'll just be dragged, clips will be selectively edited, etc. Never give in to the cultists. The best I can say is at least he's raising money for some worthwhile causes (I assume), but the rest is very much the usual "clap louder" to ever-diminishing circles. People keep saying he's out there, where is Joe, where is Nancy, but doing a livestream and a fireside chat is not going to matter. This is one of the pitfalls of a movement that venerated a very old, very sick man and spit poison at anyone who could genuinely lead.
  10. It's time for the media to stop covering these and just interview experts instead. They are doing nothing but bolstering Trump's appeal even though he has done absolutely nothing to warrant the support. Any time he melts down, it's just seen as the norm. Any time he doesn't melt down, it's seen as an amazing step forward. Peter Alexander being "shocked" that such a minor question got such a vicious response tells you what you need to know about how much of a bubble the media remains in. They still want Trump to be their "strong father," like McCain was. Only days ago, Dana Bash was gushing over Trump for the bare minimum. Yet this will continue, as they need Trump to be what he will never be, and they also know that they are as replaceable as ever - imagine how they feel when they see Sean Spicer being shameless enough to come back and ask a question, showing them what a sham their jobs are. Sounds like Pence's propaganda team in place. I'm sure he was less volatile, but considering his track record in Indiana (and I don't remember anything getting better with the White House handling either), I have a hard time believing he was much help here. I just wonder how long it will be before Fauci and Bix are banished. Fauci was seen looking disdainful of one of his jokes today, so it won't be long. I'm sorry about your friend. I was just thinking about some of my family who passed - one who was about the sweetest, kindest person I've known, and who'd developed heart problems, passed away just a month before all this really started. I think maybe it was a kindness. I wonder if Joe's response is down to "where's Joe" trending. To be honest I think he may be better off avoiding this type of thing, after how badly the livestream was handled, but it's not up to me...
  11. Graham has been beating the drum about this for a week now. It's one of the reasons I don't believe anything will happen, or if it does, it will be watered down and only big business will benefit. If it weren't an election year it definitely wouldn't be happening. Graham is the ultimate piece of [!@#$%^&*]. Sadly the only people I know in SC who are against him or Trump are very elderly and likely aren't going to be voting as they have a ton of other things they're going through. I just hope there is a surprise in November (a good one, I should say). His opponent is Jaime Harrison. https://jaimeharrison.com/
  12. Finally a liberal meme worth saving.
  13. Another partial Loving episode has appeared. @safe this one has a bit of Ilene Kristen. Lisa Peluso does so much with that scene where Ava is getting ready for Alex to arrive. She truly was born for this role. I miss Linda Cook. I guess this is the recast Rick. I can't remember if I saw him before.
  14. Is this James Goodwin?
  15. Ron Johnson and Jim Inhofe are two of the most repulsive people in the Senate. Johnson recently made headlines about his callousness toward people dying. Shameful that Dianne Feinstein is there to give bipartisan cover. I know the left has tried, and failed, to dislodge her for years. I read that she wasn't actually in the briefing, so she may not be involved, I don't know.
  16. Even Tucker Carlson is saying Burr should resign and be charged unless he gives justification. They're going to use him as a scapegoat, but I can't say I have any pity for him. I try not to expect anything but I'm still amazed at just how little Trump is bothering to actually lead. Just going out there and literally telling governors to do everything on their own. And yet we have the likes of Dana Bash gushing over him. The media would sell their children for Trump. They really would.
  17. Well well well...this is what Martha Stewart went to prison for. She was a Democrat, so that meant she was punished and Republicans aren't, but I have a feeling Loeffler, who was already pushed in over the objections of the base, is getting the boot.
  18. Looks like he was on a lot of flop TV shows. And he looks like he needs to have an enema.
  19. I'm embarrassed to admit I thought this was Potsie on Happy Days 😆 I thought the whole thing was a little cringeworthy, but all the posturing just feels phony, and the usual mindless "eat the rich" blather of a movement populated by trust fund babies. If Gal Gadot wasn't involved I don't think they would have cared as much.
  20. What annoys me the most is people who go around and spread the virus, have their children spread the virus, etc. try to act so noble about it. There was an article a few days ago about selfishness in the US, refusing to isolate and how it is passed off as patriotism. At least this led to some good gossip:
  21. I'm one of those strange people who cries more at a TV show or a movie than real life, but I think Josh Gad sums it up well: Anyway, Tulsi's endorsement is the most humiliating experience Bernie has had in this campaign (well, beyond Super Tuesday). Many of his cultists loved her and fought for her, believing she was his true ally. That she not only dropped out, but also endorsed Biden on the way - wow.
  22. Not sure I believe China's totals. Florida always ends up supporting this type of Republican, sadly. I think if not for even the likes of Morning Joe excoriating him, he wouldn't have done this (and even now he's not closing until Monday). It's all about the money pouring in from college students.
