  1. I feel like I'm being contrarian, but as someone who hasn't liked any of the themes of the last twenty years, it doesn't bother me that much. I like the idea of going from B&W to color (even if it's a bit cliche), and I like the theme arrangement. My main problem with it is it just looks so damn cheap - as others have said, it looks like a fan edited opening from 15 years ago. Ditch the skyline, take off the names, and I think it would improve a tad.
  2. Lemay seemingly agreed as he had Rachel viciously spurn Liz and cast her out of the family (briefly) in his return to the show. I'm glad those episodes will be up on Youtube before too long.
  3. I know it's Puck, but this story seems believable enough to me, enough to anger me. So many big business types are going to stump for DeSassy, assuming he's more "respectable" than Trump, which mostly means the camps he chooses for most of us will be given fresher coats of paint.
  4. @Skylover Thank you for sharing such a lovely, personal story with us. You often hear about actors with attitude, or who are unable to connect, so I'm glad you had a very positive experience, especially with what you're going through right now. I have to admit I laughed at the part about Elly, because I never liked her either.
  5. Sheffer was always much, much, much better at talking to an adoring soap press than he was at writing. Anything he said, I never believed. I wouldn't be surprised if he got bored with Nick fast, especially given his love of pigs like EJ, or Hunt Block's Craig on ATWT.
  6. It very much reads like them just throwing a Vanessa comment from another interview into that article. Sloppy stuff.
  7. His longest running regular role was 2 seasons of Rat Patrol. Otherwise he did a ton of guest parts.
  8. Great find @Wendy . I am very fond of Harley's work on GL (he was Derek, the long, long-suffering stick in the mud boyfriend of Hillary Bauer while she pined for Kelly and Tony - I would have chosen Derek any day), and I can see why he was liked by the network, but Glenn Gordon Caron was right to press for Bruce Willis. Bruce had more of a unique appeal which overcame how offputting the writing for David could have been. Harley reminds me of the late, lamented Charles Rocket, who ended up playing David's brother.
  9. One of the reasons I despised the framing of this story as some kind of brave and daring gay material - with anyone who objected to it being seen as homophobic - was that the show made sure Adam was seen as using Rafe rather than any sexual or romantic interest being involved. We were meant to be agog at how wild the show was, but never tried for any ambiguity in the storytelling. We never saw anything, aside from the infamous shot of Muhney's paw on mouthbreathing Rafe's bottom lip, and they made clear that Adam was still only interested in women. That Nelson Branco paraded Muhney, MAB, etc. as some kind of equality heroes still angers me, 15 years later.
  10. Thanks @victoria foxton . A nice surprise to see some of those included clips, even if the clips were nothing special (Steve's is oddly prescient as he talks about running whatever drugs he has to run in order to survive). Eileen really did love to tell that grandmother clause story, much to her later regret. Kathryn Hays using the whole feature to just plug her cabaret act was clever. She had a lovely voice.
  11. Sorry to hear about the kids show not going forward anytime soon, if not surprised. Much of RTD's heart is in that genre, so I'm sure if he ever can he'll try.
  12. I never thought Eva was a particularly good or appealing performer, on Y&R or on the wildly overrated Desperate Housewives, but I don't understand why Eric Braeden is spending his time on Twitter dragging her. Aren't these his golden years?
  13. I got unexpectedly upset at seeing Heather Tom...even after all these years, the show has suffered so much from the crass treatment they used to force her off the show. I had no idea if Tom Hallick was even still around. Too bad they can't have briefly reunite with Janice Lynde oncamera, but then I guess she isn't even back for the 50th. Nice to see Jaime Lyn Bauer, even if she seems to be wearing some old hotel curtains. Lovely to see Jess Walton. Nice to see Phil Morris too. I had to laugh at J Eddie Peck and his "guest" seemingly wandering in looking for a Yellowstone audition. No light in TSJ's eyes. Sad. Jason Thompson looks miserable. Veronica Redd manages to put the young ones to shame by making a style that reminds me of a Doctor Who support character from 1987 work so well. Adrienne Frantz (I was just thinking of her yesterday, oddly enough) doesn't look as OTT as she might have. Of all the ladies who tried to be a bit...gauche in their outfits, I think Barbara Crampton is the only one who pulls it off.
  14. Not specifically Neighbours related, but still, it's fun and has a few mentions. And as several comments remind, she has way more to say and do here than she did in the finale.
  15. I knew Reddick most from Oz, where he brought a great deal of commitment and raw charisma to a very hackneyed piece of melodrama. Sorry to hear he's passed away, especially so young and at a career high.
