  1. That is good continuity with Matt and Dolly, even if Kevin Laffan had left by the time they split up. The sets all look much better to me in these early years. Agree about then and now of course...I did think the recent scenes with Cain and Faith in the countryside were lovely, but so much of the show is so heartless and hollow.
  2. Michele Lee going hogwild starting about 10 minutes in.
  3. Geez, the last few days have been one after another. RIP Tony - one of the best on The Sopranos.
  4. And of course so many on social media are already saying this isn't enough and it's too late...and bringing up their student loans. Sometimes I wonder if this is a reason they end up delaying some of these responses, because they know it's going to get drowned out no matter what.
  5. He got in over his head, no impulse control (as shown with his many kids), and was also likely trying to game the system for stocks. I hope they don't let him get away with it. There were also a lot of dumbasses and hatemongers and grifters like Babylon Bee, Jordan Peterson and Dave Rubin who got booted from their Twitter accounts and were likely hoping he would come to their rescue. I hope they never get to come back.
  6. Thanks @Joseph @j swift Yes that trope always gets on my last nerve.
  7. Fascinating story @Jdee43 I had never even heard of this show.
  8. @Vee So sad to hear about Lenny Von Dohlen. I did not care for the arc in season 2 (I thought it took too far away from his involvement in Laura's life and focused too much on the "creepy" element to bring drama for Donna), but he was excellently used in Fire Walk With Me, going a long way to re-center him. He was such a handsome man too. Larry Storch I always enjoyed on F Troop. i didn't know he was still alive.
  9. The sad part is this is probably the exact type of interview Smith wanted - it gets his name out there and means other hatemongers like Carlson will keep working with him.
  10. Yes I think this is a case where the parliamentary system plays a key part. The party can force a PM out and still stay in power, which makes them more aggressive. This is one of the reasons why the Tories have stayed in power for 12 years (and why they did for 18 years before Tony Blair won), and don't seem likely to give that up anytime soon.
  11. He's had years of sex scandals and disgusting comments, but has been Teflon. What seemed to bring him down was the revelation that his office was having parties during 2020 lockdowns, lockdowns that were, unlike what went on in the US, enforced, and where a lot of people sacrificed (and a number of people died). They tried to tough through this, but a poor economy and increasing isolation from the rest of the world due to Brexit did not help. They began losing byelection after byelection (special elections), including some that the party had won by massive margins before that point.
  12. Thanks for finding those.
  13. I was reading about Sarah Levy (daughter of Eugene Levy and a very reliable supporting player on Schitt's Creek) having a baby with her husband, Graham Outerbridge. IMDB lists him as being "Stuart Small" on GL in 2007. Who was that exactly? I looked up one of the episodes he was supposed to be in and did not see him. I did see an attempt at a car accident that reminds me just how non-existent the budget was by this point.
  14. Every day there is another story of the NYT laundering hate and fear, whitewashing bigotry, and people continue to be sucked into their lies, most recently shown with Bette Midler. And nothing seems to stop them.
  15. This is really frightening stuff.
  16. @Forever8 Thanks. The end of that doc talking about the BBC just making Holby and Casualty into "second soaps" is true, and very sad. I have heard people complain about this for years. It killed Holby and Casualty isn't far off.
  17. The old thread on this has been closed. If anyone wants to merge they can. Happy 30th anniversary, Eldorado.
