  1. @NothinButAttitude I already said this in the ATWT thread but these last weeks have been putting that show's end to shame. As someone who grew up watching ATWT, it hurts my heart to be reminded of just how little Chris Goutman cared. Jason Herbison and the others at Neighbours have managed with these last weeks to simultaneously pay respect to the past while still giving respect to the current slate of characters. And the throwbacks to the past haven't just felt like forced nostalgia trips, because they are clearly from a place of love - from past cast, current writers and producers, and the fans, old and new, who never truly let go. I hope Neighbours can still come back in some form, but at least the show is ending at peace. And that's rare for a soap. I'm so glad to hear that @tiofmso
  2. The uploader who posted most of this episode 5 years ago has found the ending and the credits.
  3. I'm glad that these things are passing, but so many have been demoralized for many months now, it may just be too late to get those people back. I saw that Bernie was upset, which means his remaining cultists will be too, although I don't think he has the same influence he had a few years ago.
  4. https://www.insider.com/celebrities-who-got-their-start-on-soap-operas-2018-6#susan-sarandon-14 "I went into soap operas and started to learn how to work with cameras," she told Women's Wear Daily in 2017. "I was kind of the girl that everything happened to. I was living in New York, and I never left New York to live in L.A., so I'm here because all my plans failed.
  5. I truly despise this man. (Tom Segura and his wife, best known for racist screeds in standup, are no better)
  6. "New" Gawker continues to cover itself in...glory by posting and then retracting a story claiming Thomas Chatterton Williams was at the premiere for Alex Jones' propaganda movie. Williams is terrible, as are his fellow sycophants like Bari Weiss and Glenn Greenwald, so kudos to that trashbag of a site for making him a martyr.

She's not just a conservative, she enables hatemongers and profited from her father being a hatemonger. Wanda Sykes ditched the show due to her. I hope others follow.
  8. I agree with you, definitely. This does reinforce for me how weak and feeble Brett Kavanaugh is, as if his hearings hadn't shown us that already.
  9. I do think the report was leaked to make sure any wavering justices toed the line.
  10. This is so sad, on top of the underlying sadness, as it also was with Tanya Roberts. He's clearly not going to be with us much longer (although if a miracle happens that will be great), so in a sense his family has to grieve twice, and now when he passes away, similar to Tanya, there are going to be a lot of crass jokes and memes.
  11. Thanks for the rarity. What a silly photo choice. Jacqueline looks like she agrees.
  12. There was some initial tension with John and James in James' first return, but afterward I think John was kept so separate from most of the big crime and mystery stories so he had less reason to be involved with James. I do think they could have still done something there, and I think it would have taken a bit of the bile off just how sour some of James' appearances by that last year feel, but that just isn't who Marland seemed to think John was, for better or worse. I remember when he came back in 1997 and had scenes terrorizing her in the mental institution. Awful stuff. By that time Ellen Dolan had lost most of what made her work in the role, and honestly even if Margaret Colin or HSB had been in those scenes they still would have sucked.
  13. There are episodes on Dailymotion, although these days you have to watch the ads.
  14. Thanks for finding all the photos @Paul Raven Marland really did spend months and months building up Floyd's music career. Or Allen Potter did. I wonder if that was ever meant to be long-term or if they just used that as a reason to brings musical guests in and there was never any interest in the character himself.
  15. These days it's so hard to tell between doomposting and real life. I could see pretty much everything in those tweets happening, even if I don't think Biden would blame gays for buck-passing (I do think some others would, sadly). I'm just so tired of this slowness and apathy and blindness toward the threat in this country. I don't believe Welensky or the CDC are deliberately fostering homophobia, but that's what is happening anyway through such poor responses that beg people to assume gay or bi men did something to children.
  16. I don't agree with the anti-Biden aspects of this that much but I do feel a lot of the rest will be true, especially after the bungling response and tone deaf comments (again) from Walensky.
