He truly was forgettable as I think this is the second or third time this has happened (that and many were not watching by then - I didn't start back until the last year so I'll include myself). I suppose that's one benefit of giving Alan a long lost son. (I'm also glad they never had Gus and Alan fighting over a woman - imagine a GL where they fought over Harley...)

Rusty is the one I remember popping up the most. I wonder if Terrell ever talked about why he didn't come back for the end. I assume he was asked. I can't remember if they ever said anything about Rusty's life while he was away or if he just came and went. After all the damage Dinah did to Vanessa it is only right that she helped Vanessa return. Still, what a monkey's paw to get Vanessa back on and giving her some of the material I never thought she'd have regarding Matt and Billy - a shame Ross ended up going.

Game Shows
The Game Show Vault put up two April Fool's episodes for the John Davidson era Hollywood Squares (the one I have the fondest memories of due to childhood). @DaytimeFan You may enjoy this as they use Joan Rivers in a fun way. New Hollywood Squares|Episode #040188

@alwaysAMC Thanks (belatedly) for your latest recap. I had forgotten Dylan got these nice moments with Susan. I did remember Annie choosing the dramatic moment to end her feud with Reva, but appreciate the details. I wonder if they gave a reason why Trish wasn't there. I was going to say she wouldn't have missed Josh's wedding but then I remembered she only went to one of them. Can't say I blame her there. I'm glad they mentioned Hamp one last time. I wonder if they said he was dead or just spoke of him through the wedding memories. A shame they couldn't bring Gilly back at this time as Amelia Marshall was off AMC or soon would be.

GH: April 2026 Discussion Thread
I think the main difference is if Kirsten had been there they likely would have reunited and we would have seen her sense something was wrong, instead of that beat being done in about a week.

I think this was always the plan - KS' absence just put a big wrench in the execution.

I think Grant Aleksander mentioned that when Ron Raines called to tell him the show had been canceled, he had to say it wasn't an April Fool's joke. Kim's over 70 now and recently had cancer so I don't think she would be as heavy in story as she was before. I would probably start with the kids and grandkids of established families - Bauers, Spauldings. A new family or two as well, depending on whether the show is an hour or a half-hour. I might tie the new family to characters who were on the radio show. You wouldn't have to have a big mention, it could just be a tie viewers would know if they wanted to go and look. Of course, you'd have to have the established characters but some I'd just have as guest spots.

Dallas Discussion Thread
I think Emma did fit into the stories more in terms of how she could affect Angela, and I thought Margaret Ladd was a good actress. Emma was also very unique to the canvas. Lucy had none of that as she didn't have strong enough connections to the canvas. Charlene was likeable, she was pretty, and she clearly appealed to some male viewers (maybe some female viewers too), but the character wasn't made to last. I do remember enjoying her when she came back and was just commenting on all the action.

Not a ton but Nora, Blair, and Jackson have all had short stints. And Erica is mentioned.

I'm always happy to see soap-related content on accounts like that, although I know Jack was only getting the strip due to his music career. I forgot to say thanks for your latest writeup. Glad to see the buildup to Lucy. Tony and Tania learning of her pregnancy breaks my heart. Bryan and Claudia - I wonder if they would even be getting as much 'story' as they are if this wasn't a period where more soaps were trying to give black character scraps (about half or a little over half). I'd say it's hard to believe they'd been on the show for about 8 years until I remember the state of the current black GH canvas. I can't believe what Jake said to Anna. Maybe I should praise the show for realism, as some people are that blunt and callous toward single women, but I wish she'd cold-cocked him.

I'm clearly not a great person as I still howled at that scene...but I agree that Doug deserved better.

Thanks @slick jones It felt like Marco had been around longer than just a year. Such a waste. I'm glad those '50s anthology videos popping up lately are providing more info.

It must be a financial issue. I liked Sasha and I think they could have had some story with her and Michael, probably to show them trying to be a happy family but neither of their hearts being in it. I would have had a whole mess with Chase/Sasha/Michael/Willow/Brook Lynn (throw in Dante too I guess).
