  1. 9/25/81 SOD. Introducing the hugely underrated Rebecca Hollen, as Trish Lewis. Network Publishing Co
  2. From the October 13, 1981 SOD. There's also a small photo of the Davidson family. If you want to see that let me know and I will scan the photo!
  3. Thanks. As you can see I know almost nothing about the show. It's too bad they couldn't make it work enough to last, although the ratings still seemed respectable. If they could have hung on to the 90s I think the show might have gained a new following, as the 80s had, aside from Donna Rice/Gary Hart (which was after Capitol was off the air) had kind of dry political scandals, whereas the 90s was sex, sex, sex.
  4. Did Graves leave because of her personal problems or something else? Did Egan leave or was he let go? I wonder how many of the cast Constance keeps in touch with. I know she sang at Richard Egan's funeral.
  5. Thanks. Do you think they were right to recast the roles, were the recasts any better?
  6. June 8 82 SOD. Search celebrates move to NBC. Network Publishing Co
  7. Those photos were a wealth of discovery, huh. I did a double take at realizing that was THE Tonja Walker. She looked a lot better on OLTL! I think anyone looks better without spangly headbands. Unless you're Princess Amethyst of the Jewel Kingdom, avoid it. And I thought they said Nicholas Walker was there with Marla Maples! Oops. I think people used to assume Deborah Farentino was his DAUGHTER... So how many of these actors lasted past the first year? The younger ones. Didn't they recast or write out a lot of the younger roles? Or am I confusing that with Santa Barbara? Thanks for looking at this stuff and commenting on it. I'm still trying to find that ad...
  8. I didn't see this on the Capitol website -- hope this isn't a duplicate. It's a party for the show, from the July 6, 1982 SOD. Network Publishing Co
  9. Here's the photo of Myrna and Clarissa. It's from a summer 82 SOD recap page. Network Publishing Co
  10. I thought it was the Four Musketeers stuff.
  11. I kept waiting to hear about Pat when Janine was working there. I wonder if the show remembers she owns any of it. I agree that Bianca was close to her old self in today's episode. I couldn't believe she let her hair down -- it was like 1997 all over again! It was nice to see her being fun and flirty. Bianca never used to yell all the time. That was only a parody of her. It's nice to see more of her fun side. I also liked seeing Whitney not mooning over Billie. The family scenes were very believable. I also loved that scene of the toy dog shaking his head and looking sad after Bianca and Ricky started having sex. I'm trying to figure out if Ricky was wearing a new shirt or if he's had that before. I am not all that interested in the stuff with Stacey at the moment but that could change after today. All the ladies did a great job in today's episode. The whole idea of someone being bipolar and hating what the pills do to them is very dramatically rich and while I know it's just a plot point here and has already been done before with Stacey, the scenes where Becca convinced her to stop taking them were still well done. They were also believable, because you could almost think Becca made sense. And the scenes with Denise and Jean were also just right. The woman who plays Becca did a wonderful job today. Some are very upset with the writing for Jane, saying she's acting out of character, but she's been increasingly unbalanced for a year or two now, so I'm not surprised by her current plan. She is clearly just lashing out because she feels nothing but failure and rage. It's not like she is being written as Cindy Beale. I am so glad they are including Denise in all these scenes where she talks to people and is a part of the fabric of Walford. As for Melissa Suffield, I don't know what was going on backstage but I can't say I will miss her as Lucy. So she isn't gone for good after all, she still has a while to go?
  12. Marla is a very neurotic type of actress - I can see where that might have been odd. Of course Marj is too but she's more haughty and OTT, a contrast to Constance. I never have watched this show enough, it will be odd seeing Constance play the heroine. That's so sad about Carolyn. Can't believe she was only 53 I think she would have been a great fit for daytime, it's a shame she never got the chance. I will try to post the photo soon, and a few other things.
  13. I'm going to miss Maisie. The Wyldes added something very special to Emmerdale. Reading that makes me think Lyndon actually did want to leave and he wasn't fired. I'd rather believe that, because if he wanted to stay he never should have been written out.
  14. Wouldn't you love to hear some of the reasons for these photos? Like why were Peter and Steve (being lazy and using character names) put in shiny pleather suit jackets? Peter looks bad. And why was John Stape put in the photo? I know he has a big story at the moment and I actually like the actor's work in the role but it just seems like they should be phasing him out. Kat Kelly and the girl who plays Fiz both look good -- Kat looks gorgeous. The other women I think there were some bad choices with dresses and colors. Did someone who hates Ben Price give him that haircut? It's just EARS EARS EARS.
  15. She would have been great as Myrna, although I wonder if that would have affected a color scheme (since she and Constance were both blondes). Did Carolyn Jones know she was dying before she was cast on Capitol? I assume the show also knew. There's this funny picture, you've probably already seen it, in one of the synopses on SOD, where Carolyn and Constance are kind of being goofy for the camera.
  16. Oh I didn't think you were chiding me, I thought you were just telling me that to save me some time.
  17. Thanks for posting those, it's great to get to see these.
  18. Thanks for the photos. Never thought I'd get to see that! That's so neat they had the first shot as being various views of offices. And John Sylvester White looks about the same. Mary Stuart looks so stylish.
  19. Thanks. I didn't know any of this was already on the Internet. Sorry. Thanks for letting me now. Now if I post anything else I will make sure it wasn't already posted.
  20. Thanks! Wow, I didn't know Trash had a daughter, she was never mentioned in any of the web synopses or the Emmerdale anniversary books. I hope someday I can see that.
  21. If any fans are interested, there's a very long survey here which asks your feelings on various characters past and present, favorite stories, couples, comedy, what have you. Voting ends today. http://coronationstreet.wikia.com/wiki/Coronation_Street_Wiki:The_Golden_Fifty_survey
  22. Interview with E:20 producer. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s86/eastenders-e20/scoop/a269428/a-chat-with-e20-producer-deborah-sathe.html
  23. That does seem surprising, especially since Marge must have been very popular with viewers. I remember Mary Stuart saying that she and Larry Haines were there at the hospital when she died. Perhaps they didn't want to play the scenes too much onscreen, I don't know.
  24. From the 6/22/82 SOD.
  25. An interview with John Conboy from the 6/8/82 SOD, Network Publishing Co, where he talks about creating the show, and they have some cast photos. I also have some other writeups from around this time, and a black and white ad which is a bit odd (I guess they couldn't have faces because they hadn't cast actors at that time), if I can find it. This interview had some photos from a party thrown for Conboy, but they were mostly of Y&R cast, so I didn't scan them right now as I didn't think they were appropriate for this thread. If you want to see them let me know.
