  1. That was nice of her to acknowledge ATWT.
  2. That's sad to hear. I wish We Love Soaps, which gets some great interviews, had had a chance to talk to her. I'm sure she had many stories to tell.
  3. I would have been interested in seeing Luke get involved with an older military man, perhaps someone fairly high up, who then comes out after DADT repeal and faces the various reactions and hardships. I think there was a certain "daddy" potential they ignored when they wrote out Larry Lau.
  4. To me they are carrying a lot of the show. While I don't see the show as being in dire state or the worst ever, in spite of the usual DS hysteria, I do think that the Masoods are a major asset, and I'm glad they have finally made Syed viable (I know some will say he's always been great and I can understand what they feel but I couldn't stand him until recently).
  5. To me it never made a lot of sense after they were involved in worldwide spy schemes or whatever was going on when Gary blew that one place up. I think Greg would probably invest mostly in big resorts with golf courses he'd spend most of his time on.
  6. I have no idea. I would probably have Lucinda trying to get in on some defense deals, arms, which would cause tension with Sierra, because of Montega.
  7. Wow, she doesn't look that much different. Too bad she didn't do more soaps. I'd love to see her acting with Pamela. Hell I'd love to see Pamela on anything at this point. So were they both in Working Girl?
  8. I would guess NBC just wanted the show gone - and P&G must have too if they sold it. I can't imagine anyone actually having faith in a vehicle for a woman who had not been seen in a major role in almost thirty years. This wasn't exactly Garbo. I wish some of From These Roots was available. I especially would like to see Barbara Berjer's work.
  9. I guess the Phillips must have gone - I always wondered if Irna had any major role beyond supervising anyway. Tom looks like a beach party extra. Nick has his mouth hanging open. I love it. It's nice to see Rosetta Lanoire (I have an article with her somewhere, from a year or two after this, when she played Peggy or Vera's mother on AW). Do you know anything about Erin Conner? So what was Bill Sims' story? Was this the first Vietnam story ever on daytime? I hadn't heard anything about it. A shorter cast summary and a few different photos.
  10. From the January 1971 TV Picture Life.
  11. Share your thoughts on this short-lived but fascinating soap opera. And thanks to saynotoursoap, you can enjoy a promo for the show as well as the finale - probably my favorite soap finale.
  12. Oh. For some reason I thought he'd be about 90 or something, like Don Pardo.
  13. Is it the guy Cricket married?
  14. I'd never seen these ads. Love the dancing stuff; cheesy, but who cares.
  15. I didn't know Travis was still on the show at this time.
  16. I wish they'd keep him around, he had a very menacing yet subtle presence that most soap villains haven't had in a long time. If they can't keep him then I wish they could find the guy who played Sam Owen's friend Andy on Hollyoaks. He was fantastic - charismatic, menacing, attractive, evil.
  17. Wow I guess Charlie really did want to leave. I will miss Darren, even if he isn't exactly a fantastic character - soaps need those type of goofy supporting figures who sometimes have lead story. That's what US soaps lost when they began dying out. (and he also had a nice ass)
  18. Really? I guess I can see why Zoe might go, since she's had a big career before EE and hasn't been used much, but Charlie who stayed even when his entire family hit the road and he had little to do?
  19. As has been rumored for several days, Zoe Lucker and Charlie Hawkins have been fired. http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a317256/vanessa-and-darren-to-leave-eastenders.html It's strange because they could have easily let Darren go last year, but instead Kirkwood took time to build Darren up and I thought he did a good job of it. I really enjoyed his relationship with Max. That hasn't been seen lately. Instead it seems like Max is heading more towards the sour Tanya-obsessed figure I have little time for. They could have done a lot with Vanessa but they hit the brakes very early on and it's only been a matter of time since. I will never understand what happened there.
