  1. Thanks for tracking this down and typing it all up. I'm sure it took a lot of time.
  2. Thanks. I never knew that about that tenure having a ratings boost. I like some of the ideas of changes she made early on (Faith was always a failed character, IMO, Kevin was annoying and superfluous) but from what I've read it just sounds like it became a mess, and these synopses don't exactly change my mind. I do like Cali Timmons a lot but Maggie's stories sound all over the place.
  3. Thanks. I wonder how long he was around.
  4. I think the Claire Labine and Paul Mayer were let go in early 1982. The story with Maeve was an homage to Roseland, which Helen Gallagher appeared in. Is the Matthew in this story the same man who was Rose's father? I haven't seen any of these episodes, but some who did have said that Kirkland's Hope was an exaggeration, and that the true decimation was not until 1984. Claire would probably agree, since when she was asked which RH writer was closest to her vision (paraphrasing) she said Mary Ryan Munisteri, who was headwriter in 1982. If you are interested, I have some Digest synopses from 1982, and would be happy to post them.
  5. Anyone know who this man is with Ellen and Judge Lowell?
  6. Thanks. I'd kind of wondered because of the Paul flashback scene. I have never been sure how they did flashbacks in live episodes.
  7. Thanks. I wonder if this Dr. Sawyer was an important character or not. And if the nurse was anyone important. Was this when the show was live, or was it live on tape by this time? I just realized this is the first time I've ever actually watched anything with Dan Stewart.
  8. Why is a show that is a huge mess (and frankly, was one for some time before Blyth passed away) going to do this? It gets a ratings increase very briefly and then months of poor followup. What stories do they even have for this? They have already done all the fires and crashes and so on. If they are so determined to be Hollysurvivors, will a live episode entail everyone over 50 dying in a plague?
  9. That's true. It looks like this is around the time Paul died and Dan was critically ill. It's interesting to actually get to see this. I wonder how viewers felt at the time. It must have been like a slap in the face.
  10. Party time! Someone is uploading a 1972 episode! Party time!
  11. It looks like Robin Johnson or some fans of hers are putting up clips of her work as Darcy Decker. There are about 16 parts so far.

  14. I think Michael was on the show up to about 1983 or 1984.
  15. How odd they had two characters named Trish within a few years. And that they didn't put Toni Bua in a larger role, considering that the show had few younger heroines at this time. I have only ever really seen Judith on SB. I haven't watched a ton of SB in recent years but always have a soft spot for her because when I was younger and watching "real time", she and Eden and Kelly and a few others were the ones I was fascinated by. I tend to go back to her ATWT run because it seems like such a case of right soap, wrong time. She probably would have flourished during the Dobson or Marland years, and even after Marland passed away, ATWT could have brought her in as a foil for Lucinda, Kim and Susan - what if she bought up part of Worldwide, or WOAK, took an interest in Larry, or it turned out that she had had a child with Dan Stewart. Who knows.
  16. Thanks so much. I've never read this recap. Nice details! I didn't know Kim was so naive about John up to this point. So this was the start of Valerie, who should have been a much bigger character - if only they'd kept her around. Tina of course was played by Trish Hollen. Nice to read more about Natalie's schemes. Who played Dr. Endicott? I never knew he was actually a character on the show. Did Howard Strassfield ever have stories?
  17. Thanks for these. Poor Ilene. I shared Ellen's feelings on Michael - I loathed the character - but that's not very professional. It helps explain why the show was such a mess at this time.
  18. I wonder if they really left of their own choice or if they were fired? Would Alex Carter suddenly decide on new adventures after only a year? Marquess failed him badly. I know that a lot of people like Duncan but I thought he was repulsive and offensive and cheap and he's one of the reasons I gave up on the episodes after a few months. As for Ricky, he's just dead-eyed and not much else. If only this meant the show was actually doing anything of value. I hope it's a start.
  19. What a performance from Judith McConnell.
  20. This clip has a bit of DAYS near the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3mCMOIY1PU
  21. You can see a few seconds of Love of Life at the end of this clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3mCMOIY1PU
  22. Nice cover, although that one shot looks like fun in the pool with Rachel, not drama. Was the Slaughterhouse about DAYS and their firings?
  23. More Another Life clips up!
  24. This is wonderful. I've never seen any of these. Why were Susan and Paul wearing matching shirts? I hate that.
  25. This is a real treat. Thanks. Sometimes it seems like everyone was on Edge! Who was Joan Harvey again?
