  1. Thanks for all the fun clips. They did a great job with Sharon's return. Soaps generally fail at returns.
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5AwpMooKAE
  3. Many of those actors weren't even around by mid-1995, and with a few exceptions they weren't exactly replaced by greats. The beginning of the end for the show in a lot of ways...
  4. I don't think it made a difference in terms of the show's fate, but I thought the actor had a very natural appeal and sincerity, and he made TR more tolerable (she seems very fake to me in the other scenes). I don't get why he was killed off. Who was Suzi again? She was ill in this episode. For some reason I thought Suzi was already gone by this time. I thought the live episode was Search's highest rated on NBC. It was the Jo kidnapping story?
  5. Seeing her attempt dramatic acting would have been interesting. At that time she really had that primetime soapy look.
  6. Poor Morgan Fairchild and Woody Brown were both a bit off in that first photo. Morgan usually looks fantastic. Perhaps the show was trying to tell us their family had some bad inbreeding.
  7. The impressions aren't the best (more Peggy) but this is a lot of fun. I especially love the part about "We don't like the whisperers and they don't like us."
  8. Stella Stevens still looked great then. I remember thinking Woody Brown was very hot when he did the Skinemax/direct-to-video softcore route in the 90's, but he just looks goofy here.
  9. Thanks for telling us more. I notice when I watch some of the SB clips that there didn't seem to be a lot of strong younger female characters - I wonder if the various writers weren't suited for writing younger women or it was just interference. For instance, I've never known why Laken was always a misfire. Do you think they used Robin Wright's Kelly in the right way? She seemed to have a gauntlet of love interests. I know she was very close to Dane Witherspoon. What did you think of Ross Kettle? I've also never understood why they brought in Janis Paige as Minx. To me that role was for one actress - couldn't she had been another Lockridge relation?
  10. Love the image of Julianna McCarthy and Brenda Dickson, the way they're intertwined. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lI_0Jd49YXg&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HC5qWx68s0&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL

  12. I like the intro on those videos. I'm sorry Jessie didn't win. Charlie looks very nice, very 20's. I love what the show has done with Janine this past year.
  13. Did her death even give story? I know Rick was written out and Ted didn't seem to have much to do (I saw a photo of him with a bimbo or something). What other stories were going on at this time? It's interesting the way she threw Ted out of the way, which you don't see very often on TV, but it seems so sad and pointless, if well-acted. I think when shows become too wrapped up in grief/angst they can burn viewers out. ALthough at least none of these people came back from the dead over and over.
  14. The flood episode. So was Joe Lambie before or after Robert Reed? This is around the time Ryder is killed off. Do you think that was a mistake? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_TMd2lhqDo
  15. Here is the interview.
  16. I didn't realize Pilon went back to Ryan's Hope. Who was this ambulance driver Jack was involved with? Clearly that didn't last long.
  17. I remember an Episodes photo of Dr. Hamill in a public fountain...
  18. I forgot to say thank you for posting all this. I'm so glad Eastenders won and I'm so VERY glad they let Lindsey Coulson accept the award. I love Jane Danson, but Lindsey deserved a BSA and her giving the speech basically lets everyone know that. Her performance was one of the most moving moments I've ever seen on television. People can say "Eastenders only won this on an episode," but that's the point. It was a superb episode, full of real, human, raw moments, something the other soaps now seem to run as far from as possible. Bryan Kirkwood has been so demonized since before he even started producing Eastenders. While this doesn't change that Eastenders still needs a lot of work, I'm glad he has this last year of awards - at a time when many in the press and on fan forums were going on about the superiority of Corrie or Emmerdale - as some validation of his efforts.
  19. That's so unfair!!! Why do the public get to choose awards??? This must be left up to panels!!!! </end Digital Spy speak>
  20. That is fine by me! Although the rumors of a Moira/Cain affair turn my stomach. They clearly have no idea what to do with these characters. Did you read their interview about the assisted suicide story? Just offensive, sick storyline, one of the most offensive I've ever seen on a soap.
  21. I agree - although it's hard to imagine Nola as a businesswoman I'd like to see Mona in that area. Who was Theo again? I find that bit about MJ fantasizing as a temptress to be strange. Was this after Kathy Glass left? I wish they'd had Maggie carry to term. It would be something new for an estranged, older soap couple to have a child. In some ways this would have caused even more conflict for them.
  22. They make a handsome couple. I like the retro look and that they're slightly odd looking but also attractive. I'm sorry that their story was apparently so bad.
  23. Love this. I don't think I've ever seen it. I never knew Elcar was in a cast shot.
  24. So who are they all? I know most of them. Never knew Susan Brown had such huge hair.
