Tyler Perry's 'Haves and Have Nots' on OWN
It's not that the scenes are long -- it's that the scenes are long and nothing is happening except for repetitive dialogues and misplaced pauses that do nothing to advance story or character in any particular way. Let's not ignore that major point.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
I watched the first 15-20 minutes of Devious Maids, and I didn't realize good ol' Wole' Parks (ex-Dallas, ATWT) was going to be on it. Loved him, and great to see him in something so mainstream.

Degrassi: The Next Generation
It's a nice picture, though everybody kinds looks like crap. It kinda reminds me of nuOLTL's cast pic. Imogen, Alli, and Jenna are really the only girls who look decent. The rest all look like 12-year-olds, except of course for Gertrude. The guys...ugh. Eli and Adam look good, but the rest? Is that Tristan in the back? Miles looks like a tall, studlier version of Toby.

Jeffery's definitely gay lol Emmit's writing isn't that deep.

Tyler Perry's 'Haves and Have Nots' on OWN
Oh, Amanda cuts? I guess I missed that part. I feel like Jeffery doesn't really care about getting Wyatt off drugs. If Wyatt offered him regular access to the D, Jeffery would probably rob dollar stores to help support his habit.

Can I just say...Wyatt is such a sexy freaking name. I've known guys named Wyatt, but it never occurred to me how much that name gets me hot, and I don't know why.

I get the Passions vibe, too, and I think part of the reason why I enjoy it is because it does fill the void that only PSNS could. I have to say, though, that I hope TP doesn't get too full of himself off of this show. It's not very revolutionary -- he did not create the concept of "haves and have-nots." It's been done on soapy TV for decades. If he really wanted to put a different tint to it, he would have made the "haves" black and the "have nots" white, but Lawda mercy can you imagine the mess if black Jim Cryer cheated on black Katheryn with white Candace... But anyway, TP's trademarks are all over this. The passive-aggressive "you need to get yo butt in church" moment between Hanna and Benny, fine young men in various states of undress (but Tyler know God!), wigs, a full-figured woman who takes no one's sh!t, the "uppity" black woman, the sinful little bitch who will get hers (I betcha when Hanna finds out about Candice and Jim, she's gonna lecture her about "what's done in the dark..."). I hope the Jeffery thing doesn't turn into Jeffery doing something psychotic to get Wyatt. If anything, Jeffery should get Wyatt off the stuff, and a relationship blooms from that, but we know TP ain't going there. The weakest character, for me, is the daughter Amanda. Everyone else seems to be a part of something or doing something, but she's just a talk-to.

Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
Bev Callard and Bruno Langley returning definitely make me want to tune in again, too, so hopefully these are not botched. Todd's last appearance...well, let's just the say the only good thing about it was being able to see him again.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Fatboy is still on the show? Damn. I remember when he was one of the most-loathed characters until Ricky Norwood stepped it up and proved to be a fun asset. It just sucks because they keep writing all of his friends, family, and love interests out, so he's always just there.

Falcon Crest
Is it on Netflix Instant? Whenever I search for it, it just shows the DVDs.

As always, YEP! Also as always, I suggest the early 60s, early 70s, and early 90s.

You didn't rely solely on the show, then. Anybody who watches the new AMC/OLTL can just as well go to wikipedia or SoapCentral or any of the other dozens of sites devoted to those sites to get character information.

Fabulous 70s ATWT!! I'm amazed at how darkly lit the show is at this point (in most clips I've seen of this era, and the episode from the DVD set). Just a few years earlier, we have that very brief scene with Kim and Jennifer, and it's lit up like The Price is Right. Also, the music at the very beginning. That's the orchestral version of the Hughes family theme, isn't it? The organ version is featured in many of the black-and-white eps online.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
I mentioned Estelle in another thread, and so I randomly googled "Kate Dezina," and it was the very first picture to come up. The website it comes from seems to be some kind of French culture blog. From what I'm finding, she is the artistic director of some kind of theater venue or something. Pretty sure it's her now.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
I'm not 100% sure, but this looks like a somewhat recent picture of AMC's Kathleen Dezina (ex-Estelle).

I haven't the time for this fan fiction, all-text web soap circa 2003 nonsense. Bo Duke and Tika are the only good things about that promo.

Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
I'm with YRBB. I've always liked Michelle and the character of Tina, but as always, the heart of the character was always lost in bad storylines and failed pairings. I will never ever understand the logic behind putting her with that piece of horsesh!t Graeme.
