  1. I can understand your point, and I apologize for being crispy. I can say personally, though, that I don't regularly watch. In fact, the two scenes I saw of Tuesday night's show were the first I've seen in a few weeks. I want to like the show, and I thought I would, and there are parts that I do like, but in the end, it's just not doing enough to keep me tuning in at all. I feel like I get what I need out of it by reading other people's comments on it.
  2. Right. But anyway, I agree with Eric83 that this would be better if it was under the pen of someone other than TP or if there was someone there to balance out his tropes. The idea itself isn't even anything new or Earth-shattering, and it really doesn't have to be, but damn, it's gotta at least be interesting for more than five minutes at a time (and I know I'm being generous). All that dead air could be used to help flesh these characters out, and I don't know...maybe get them out of the house for a change.
  3. Why are you speaking as if you are Tyler Perry himself? You don't have to "take" the criticism, because it isn't directed towards you lol
  4. I agree with this 100%. I liked the beginning of the scene, for the general atmosphere of Benny wanting to set his mother up on a date and her reluctantly going along with it, but once DA DRAMA!!! began with the reveal, it was wayyyyyyy too much happening at once. It really was a poor way to introduce Benny's birth father, and I sincerely hope he isn't Candace's too.
  5. I didn't read Jeffery's assessment of Wyatt's character as even being accurate. To me, it came off as "OMG I have a huge crush on you, and even though you're an !@#$%^&*], in my idealized schoolgirl fantasy you are really a kind, loving soul who just needs someone to understand you!!" Wyatt reacted well to that because, even though those words were fueled by Jeffery's crush, they were still positive words being used to describe him, which isn't something we're seeing a lot of from his parents. He went douchey after that because he had to remind himself, "Sh!t, he's only being cool with me because he wants my schlong." Which leads me to believe that these two will probably never actually be a couple because Wyatt is straight, but he'll use whatever shallow feelings Jeffery has for him to his advantage when he needs to. You awful people have me defending Emmit's writing, and I'll never forgive you for it. Evah.
  6. ALL of you are going to hell for putting me on Toilet Paper's defense team. That is all.
  7. "Young love may be oh so mean. Will I still survive the same old scene?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVvb3MS57yk
  8. I loved that exchange! I thought the back-and-forth questioning was very natural.
  9. Joffrey lol IDK, I liked the scene. I was sucked in by whether or not Wyatt was actually going to show some kind of interest in Jeffery, and that kinda kept me in suspense. The Candice revelation at the end was awful, but I like that TP at least had the sense to leave us with a real cliffhanger. Also liked what I saw of Hanna and her blind date, though I thought it was too much too soon to reveal him as Benny's father and have her kick him out.
  10. That final scene between Wyatt and Jeffery tonight was pretty good, I must say. Might have been the first "long scene" that actually worked and felt like old school soap on this ridiculous series.
  11. A smooth disco classic from Miss France Joli... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elLBEwi9PUE
  12. Was there someone asking whether or not TP writes the scripts? Because I'ma say yeah, he does.
  13. LMAO, that was embarrassing.
  14. I think you're near the time I checked out, Eric. I thought it was a pretty solid programme from Billy Jackson's death until a few months into the switch.
  15. What are you trying to say to me?
  16. It's not that the scenes are long -- it's that the scenes are long and nothing is happening except for repetitive dialogues and misplaced pauses that do nothing to advance story or character in any particular way. Let's not ignore that major point.
  17. I watched the first 15-20 minutes of Devious Maids, and I didn't realize good ol' Wole' Parks (ex-Dallas, ATWT) was going to be on it. Loved him, and great to see him in something so mainstream.
  18. It's a nice picture, though everybody kinds looks like crap. It kinda reminds me of nuOLTL's cast pic. Imogen, Alli, and Jenna are really the only girls who look decent. The rest all look like 12-year-olds, except of course for Gertrude. The guys...ugh. Eli and Adam look good, but the rest? Is that Tristan in the back? Miles looks like a tall, studlier version of Toby.
  19. Jeffery's definitely gay lol Emmit's writing isn't that deep.
  20. Yall, listen at Cat!
  21. Oh, Amanda cuts? I guess I missed that part. I feel like Jeffery doesn't really care about getting Wyatt off drugs. If Wyatt offered him regular access to the D, Jeffery would probably rob dollar stores to help support his habit.
  22. Can I just say...Wyatt is such a sexy freaking name. I've known guys named Wyatt, but it never occurred to me how much that name gets me hot, and I don't know why.
  23. I get the Passions vibe, too, and I think part of the reason why I enjoy it is because it does fill the void that only PSNS could. I have to say, though, that I hope TP doesn't get too full of himself off of this show. It's not very revolutionary -- he did not create the concept of "haves and have-nots." It's been done on soapy TV for decades. If he really wanted to put a different tint to it, he would have made the "haves" black and the "have nots" white, but Lawda mercy can you imagine the mess if black Jim Cryer cheated on black Katheryn with white Candace... But anyway, TP's trademarks are all over this. The passive-aggressive "you need to get yo butt in church" moment between Hanna and Benny, fine young men in various states of undress (but Tyler know God!), wigs, a full-figured woman who takes no one's sh!t, the "uppity" black woman, the sinful little bitch who will get hers (I betcha when Hanna finds out about Candice and Jim, she's gonna lecture her about "what's done in the dark..."). I hope the Jeffery thing doesn't turn into Jeffery doing something psychotic to get Wyatt. If anything, Jeffery should get Wyatt off the stuff, and a relationship blooms from that, but we know TP ain't going there. The weakest character, for me, is the daughter Amanda. Everyone else seems to be a part of something or doing something, but she's just a talk-to.
  24. Bev Callard and Bruno Langley returning definitely make me want to tune in again, too, so hopefully these are not botched. Todd's last appearance...well, let's just the say the only good thing about it was being able to see him again.
  25. Ugh, so I like this sh!t. Damn. Anyway, is Katheryn black?
