Basketball Wives on VH1
I think this season must be a real stinker. They announced it weeks ago and less than a month to go and not one promo has premiered for season 5. I hope it flops since they fired all the interesting wives.

The only ones I enjoy watching are Rasheeda (although I HATE this fake storyline with Kirk), Karlie Redd, Erica, Mamma Dee and Joseline. They are just endless comedy for me.

This season wasn't super drama filled, but apparently the reunion was, so I expected this.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Season 4 from ATL was excellent. Classic from beginning to end. I will never accept the reports that it was a bad season. Season 5 was the crappy season IMO. Nobody had a storyline that year except Kenya and Phaedra. Season 4 had everybody shining. Cynthia was actually interesting, Kandi had her sex toys, there was Kim's new life (which has always been a draw for me), plus Marlo, Nene being the fabulous queen she is and Sheree's downfall. There was a lot to enjoy in that season. I wouldn't recommend watching New Jersey. Even when it was "good" I walways found it repetitive since they always rely on as few storylines as possible. Season one was basically building up only to the table flip, which the promos made clear by showing it each week. I'd recommend OC or Miami.

Sheree would be entertaining, but I need Marlo and even Lisa (who will be on I Dream of Nene at the wedding) back over Sheree. We already saw her humiliate herself enough. But Porsha and Kenya are so basic that I need a strong ensemble that can actually make an impact. Nobody cares about Kenya's antics and Porsha is just useless in general so the remaining ladies have nothing to bounce off of. I can't do another season with Nene, Cynthia AND Kandi doing nothing.

I'm not as excited for Miami, because I feel they played it safe when narrowing down the housewives. Marysol was always my favorite, so I'll miss her not being a main housewife, but I'm still going to be watching. Right now I'm content because Orange County is giving me so much life. For a show in it's 8th season it is on fire. This season has been flawless. Lauri is just a goddess and so is Vicki. Those two alone are enough to win me over for life.

I desperately want info on the OC reunion. I bet it was a classic!

Overall I think the OC women are mostly genuine, it's more a matter of if they're interested or not for me.

I've never LOVED Heather, but I do think she's a good addition. Not the best and not perfect, but she's good enough. I would still prefer her on Beverly Hills. She'd have to find a new niche (or gasp, be herself) since she couldn't play the "richest" card.

Melrose Place
I think Melrose deserved another chance, but 90210 earned those ten seasons IMO. I also don't think 90210 was bad during its last two seasons.

On WWHL Andy read a tweet from Vicki where she said Lauri was stirring up all this drama to get back on the show. Andy said that isn't true and that each season since she's left that he's called her and tried to convince her to return. He's mentioned this several times before. I know before she agreed to return for season 8, she was on WWHL and said she almost returned full-time for (I think) season 6. It may have been season 5, but I'm pretty sure it was season 6. Considering how much I love her messy ass, I hate that never happened. An ideal season 7 for me would include Lauri full-time, Jeana full-time and no more Gretchen. Having people with history just makes it juicier, as Lauri is proving with Vicki. Vicki is clearly scared because they were so close and they both know so many skeletons. Imagine when somebody mentions Josh's baby at the reunion. It's going to be classic. I'm just glad this show is perfect again. The last few seasons were missing something, but now it's just the right blend of comedy and drama. ETA: If Lauri returns, her infamous tagline MUST return as well: "I was poor I was rich I was poor again. And you know what...having money is easier."

Melrose Place
It took me ages to watch season 6. I thought I would like it. I think because of my memory of enjoying Taylor, I forgot about everything that sucked. Plus watching on SOAPnet I was forced to watch 5-days-a-week because I needed to reuse my vhs tape lol. But yes, season 7 is better. I didn't love the way they rebooted the cast, but it does work overall. The writing is very sharp.

Melrose Place
I've started season 7 and it is MUCH MUCH better than season 6. I noticed in the credits that Peter Dunne is on the writing staff. I don't recall if he's headwriter or not, but you can tell that there is a new vision at the helm. He is famous for turning Knots Landing into a hit, he wrote seasons 4-6 and also the dream season of Dallas. On Melrose Place in just one episode he has transformed the show and injected life into the entire cast. They feel like themselves again and you can tell they're being written with a purpose. The stories are also tighter. This doesn't feel like the glory years (it lacks humor), but it is very mature and I think a successful reboot of the series. It's a shame the ratings didn't keep the show around longer. I also wish we could've seen what he would've done with Taylor.

I couldn't find a pic, but here is her video recap of the latest RHOC episode where she debuted the new hairstyle. Link: http://www.celebuzz.com/2013-06-25/huzzah-alex-mccord-sounds-off-on-100-episodes-of-rhoc/

Sonja is just so tired. BTW, has anybody seen Alex McCord with her new brown hair? She looks gorgeous. It really works for her. I would post a picture, but I'm at work so I'm not able to search for one. I wish OLTL would bring her back either as her old character or a new one. She'd fit on AMC too.

The crazy thing about Lauri is that she DOES have info on Vicki, so I have no idea why she's coming up with such crazy stories. In the preview of their fight on Bravo's website, Vicki is NOT denying the new stuff Lauri brings up and also concedes that both she and Donn were unfaithful in the relationship. Unfortunately for Lauri, she said too much and got too detailed so she looks like a silly gossip, but she did have good info. She should've focused the feud on the fact that Vicki "betrayed" her by spreading the info about George. Be vague and work on it as you go. I still love Lauri's messy ass though.

That New York stuff sounds dull and tired to me. I just need to see a preview before I make ajudgement on that show.

I think it was smart of them to push back filming of RHOA. If you think about it, they did technically film I Dream of Nene. With all the housewives featured, it is basically like an extention of RHOA. I also wonder if Bravo will use the filming of that show to determine new Housewives. That would be a smart idea IMO. Who knows? Maybe Lisa Wu will wow them in her return and they'll bring her back. Or it could be Marlo or Jennifer.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Well Miami is taking over the timeslot, so we have until August 12th at least. I'm assuming that includes the reunion, so it's over in six weeks. I wonder if New York or Beverly Hills will take over the New Jersey timeslot. And we also have I Dream of Nene in September, but I don't think that will air in one of the housewives timeslots.

Cat, I'm right there with you on OC. This season has been absolutely fantastic. I know many loved the previous season, but I wasn't head over heels about it. I thought it was good, but it wasn't as memorable as this season has been for me. It started slow, but it picked up almost immediately and each lady has something interesting going on. It has the best of everything and most importantly, it isn't as dark as these shows are getting. I'm going to be so sad when this season ends.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
This season of New Jersey is a total bust. I thought last season was a stretch, but this is truly abysmal. I hope Bravo doesn't end up ruining these franchises by not knowing when to move on. They never seem to get it right. They messed up NYC, the ATL reboot was a ratings success and then with MIA they did a good reboot, but dropped two interesting housewives for no reason. With NJ it's like the show lives in a bubble and they don't even try. They should've been like Orange County and had one new housewife in season 4 and then another one for this season. You need a new perspective in order for the show to grow. It's going to continue to be the same exact storylines unless there is somebody new to bring a new perspective to things. And Kathy is just useless on every level. I feel the same about Jacquline, but many seem to enjoy her...

Here's some of Rasheeda's better stuff. I tried to only pick stuff with videos. My Bubblegum (this is her one big hit, where most of her success comes from): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1KXQR3GyXA Legs To the Moon (releasing during season one, with Kandi): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxBx94ppyD4 Badder (Featured Toya from Tiny & Toya): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ar3yZmxoYuQ MY FAVORITE: Don't Let Him Get Away (featuring Cherish): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJqsEDIL46Q Say Something (with Nivea): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVX_MZmC0z0

I wish this show was on when Rasheeda's music was really good. I hated Marry Me and this song is better, but nothing special. She had a couple of really good albums. Another big problem with her is that she releases the wrong singles as well. Marry Me was the worst track on a great cd. I did love Legs To the Moon with Kandi. All her songs with Kandi are hot.

Vicki will always be the Boss Bitch IMO. Tamra has become a popular core character, but I've always found her far too unlikable to be the Queen Bee. Vicki has so many different layers and she has a family we actually get to see, plus a job. She's the ultimate housewife. I just wish Jeana was still around. The 100th episode special made me really miss Jeana and her family. Jeana also looked BEAUTIFUL on Watch What Happens Live. Another old face I want to see again is Jo. I wonder why Andy didn't consider her for New York. They're struggling and she could add some young blood, diversity and money to the show. It looks like she has a handsome, wealthy boyfriend. She also has a good job and lives in New York.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Mama Elsa is another big reason I feel we need Marysol full-time. We're still going to see Elsa, so we're going to see her personal interactions as well as her interactions with the ladies. That is basically a housewife, not a "friend." Another thing I enjoyed about Marysol were her work scenes. She may not be dramatic and loud, but she was interesting. I thought she came off as a sharp business woman and she had great style and good wit.
