As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Oh I loved those old clips on the previous page! I didn't find that the show looked cheap although the makeup was pretty horrible. I've noticed that was the case until the mid-80s for ATWT. On the DVDs, some of the makeup for the Stewart girls is positively shocking. Almost always its a blonde actress that gets horrible makeup I noticed. I'd love to see more from this era. I know very little about ATWT in the 70s, but everything I've seen looks interesting.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Honestly, I didn't have a problem with Cindy. I think they should've kept her and let her develop a fanbase. I think she would've fit in with the new ladies and also she had money and a different spin on things. I liked Cindy. Her failure IMO comes from being Bethenny's replacement. She was so different from her that she never had a shot. They needed someone young and snarky to replace the presence that Bethenny brought to the show. It's like if ATL replaced Nene with Porsha. It just wouldn't work without a Nene-type character.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Season four of New York wasn't bad and I think it was a huge mistake to accept defeat the way they did. I think they should've added the three new ladies, but kept them as friends and see which ones really popped and then add one or two as the main housewives. They should've just dumped Sonja and Kelly for lack of story. Yes Jill is difficult, but you can't overlook the importance of those familiar faces, especially the ones that get lots of press. With season four you had Bravo announce the series, then pull it which immediately put a dark cloud over the series, but still ratings were good. Then they overreacted to the fan complaints about the women being too mean and drastically fired half the cast (including two stars). Then for their big reboot they tried to get Alex back after firing her which revealed the new ladies obviously weren't working out. Then they kept extending filming so much that it was still filming as it was airing, which obviously meant they didn't have enough good material. It was obvious watching the season that things didn't get interesting until halfway through. Then the reunion was snoozeworthy. Now they've delayed things over a year and are fighting to bring back the same cast that couldn't bring ratings last time. Makes.No.Sense.At.All. NOW is the time they should've done a reboot. Bring on Jennifer Williams or another black women. Seek out interesting minorities whether it be a Jewish or Muslim housewife or a black or asian one. Or go back to Brooklyn and find somebody to represent a more relatable side of NYC. Then you can freshen the series up with cheap new wives and be able to afford to pay Ramona, Carole and Heather, the only ones who really deserve to return. offer Aviva, Sonia and LuAnn much smaller paychecks in case one of the key three didn't return, but tell them to "take it or leave it." That worked wonders with OC this season and Alexis took that deal.

Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
Actually on my previous computer I had downloaded a bunch of 60s episodes. I did enjoy that stuff, but I have never been able to get into modern Corrie. The other three soaps have pulled me in at various times, but never this one.

Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
I'm trying my hardest to get into Corrie, but it's not happening so far. I've watched the first two weeks and I find most people annoying so far. This has always been the hardest British soap for me to get into, but since it's available on Hulu I want to make this relationship work LOL. Out of all the UK soaps I can't believe they decided to pick this one up. Hollyoaks would've paired much better with their US soaps. Emmerdale would go well with AMC as well.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I would say for me personally, season four was my second favorite after that brilliant first season. I just loved seeing Sheree unravel throughout the season and once Marlo arrived it was a [!@#$%^&*] wrap. Every scene she was in was flawless. For this current season I skipped so much and really haven't watched the episodes fully in order because it's been so boring. I haven't found any of the stories interesting and Kenya just got so old for me once it became clear she was acting. Nene, Kandi and Cynthia didn't have stories either, so it's a hard season for me to watch. I'm shocked it was so high rated.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I agree with most of this, but I think that ATL peaked with season 4. It was a brilliant send off for Sheree and a more balanced portrayal for Nene. I feel like Cynthia and Phaedra has very solid seasons as well.

RHONJ trailer: http://www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/news/real-housewives-of-new-jersey-season-5-trailer-teresa-giudice-and-melissa-gorgas-husbands-brawl-at-family-event-201335 I know everyone will probably rave about it, but I don't see the appeal. I had hoped for a change, but this looks like the same ole same ole. This is a show that needed new cast members so there could be a new focus, but this Teresa/Melissa feud is just old now. I'll probably tune in for the beginning, but I doubt I'll stick around if it ends up being as repetitive as it looks.

Love and Hip Hop Thread
I HATED the new girl. She seemed immature and like a complete idiot. I was more on her baby daddy's side than hers. She was just loud for the sake of it and came off like a child. She clearly still wants him hence why she's so pressed. I also got the feeling she was playing for the cameras bc he seemed confused in all their scenes lol.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Yeah, after hearing the bullying claims I took almost a week to watch the latest RHOC episode, but it wasn't as bad as I expected. I do think that Alexis came in genuinely wanting to put things behind her and try to make things work. Yes she wasn't perfect and did mention her clothing line, but she seemed genuine in her efforts with Tamra. She also tried several times to end the conversation and told Tamra they could discuss it in private. You could tell those women wanted to eat her alive because they didn't want her around to begin with. I don't know if bully is the right word, but they were definitely ganging up on her with a mean girl mentality. It felt very RHONY. I do think OC seems very interesting this season. Season 7 was decent, but a good reboot after a couple dull seasons and this looks like it could completely get the show back on track. I can't wait to see how things develop and I await Lauri's glorious return.

Married to Medicine
I think Dr. Jackie is the type of woman that would REALLY get under Nene's skin and that's what the show needs. I'm sorry, but Nene was a bore this season because nobody was on her level. Even if they bring back Marlo, they still need to look for someone to spar with Nene. Marlo, the return of Kim and Dr. Jackie or Simone from this show would be perfect for RHOA.

Married to Medicine
Yes gawd! I find I love Quad now because she owns who she is. From episode one she isn't fronting and acknowledges that she's a work in progress. I appreciate that about her. Mariah and Toya are beginning to drive me insane with their phoniness. It reeks of insecurity and it's no surprise they butt heads since they're so similar. Dr. Simone is my absolute favorite though. Shame she didn't replace Phaedra on RHOA. She is perfect for this type of show. She seems to have her life together, doesn't take things too seriously and has an interesting family life as well as work life and interesting relationships with the ladies. She gives a mean talking head too! Love her!

I think Kim's show fails in that it's a half hour and it should be an hour. I bet that can be a bit confusing for the fans. I don't think it's doing horribly though. It's doing well enough and it might go up.

I think Kenya may have been perceived as too fake, which could get her fired. And not fake in a materialistic way, but in an "acting" way. I know that's what I found annoying about her. They need to dump Kenya, bring back Kim full-time and bring on Marlo as a full-time housewife and let the sparks fly.

Melrose Place
I found most of season two to be a little slow, but I LOVED season one and season three so far.

Melrose Place
I'm still re-watching this series, currently in season five and I have a completely new appreciation for Melrose Place and this fantastic cast! This show has just one of the greatest primetime soap casts ever and I include all of the late additions as well. Hell, even Traci Lords, a fricking porn star, worked in the role they gave her. I just can't get over how fun this show is! It feels so mature, but young and fresh at the same time. I love the way they handled the business storylines and were able to bring together such diverse people and professions and it made sense. Even for the bad parts, I don't think anybody could pull Melrose Place off today. One huge disappointment though, is the lack of a proper exit for Daphne Zuniga. I don't think she gets enough credit for saving this show. I feel like the arrival of Jo is what kept the show on the air long enough for Heather Locklear to make any kind of impact. I enjoyed her in season four once she got over the victim complex they had her in, but towards the end she was isolated in story and didn't get a proper exit, just Matt saying that she moved. She deserved a big exit arc similar to what Kimberly received. Speaking of Kimberly, WHY DID MARCIA CROSS HAVE TO LEAVE?! I never realized how fabulous she was until now and I'm dreading her exit. Everything from her chemistry with Thomas Calabro to Doug Savant to all the different female cast members, she was just perfection. Marcia Cross deserved an Emmy for this role. Now that I'm a good way through season five I must give props to Lisa Rinna. Out of all the newbies, she's the one that catches my eye. She fits in well and has a nice mysterious air. I also love how sexy her outfits are, even when they don't show much skin. Seeing her in a well-fitted role like Taylor makes me miss her acting.

If she brings that "stick up my ass' attitude to Beverly Hills then I think they would all give it to her. I liked her better in season one, but she reminds me of Adrienne this season. Not a fan at all.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Before I go into RHOC I must say, ATL's reunion was boring overall. It had some nice moments, but it couldn't touch the season one or season four reunions. Kandi and Cynthia had no storylines so they were useless, Kenya couldn't provide any good comebacks so it was easy to shut her down and even Nene didn't do enough during the season to have a big enough presence. It was decent, but I definitely don't think this season had the same quality as season four. I hope Kim returns next year and also Marlo. As for OC, I'm watching faithfully, but I have a hard time seeing how Alexis is the devil they make her out to be. She is an idiot, but she doesn't seem mean spirited in the way that the other ladies are. I also think Heather is SO lucky she's on this show because her humorless ass would've been eaten alive on RHOBH. I hate everything about her attitude and how important she is to the storylines. Tamra and now Heather are reasons I don't enjoy this franchise as much anymore.

Marlo would've given Kandi the blues about Todd if she was around lol.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Now that Marlo is back I will for sure be watching Nene's spin-off!! I had faith this would happen! Hopefully it's going to be the first step in getting her back on RHOA. You could tell this is something Nene wanted and I'm glad she was granted her wish. The show needs strong women to interact with Nene and Marlo was a good choice. Perfect friend for Nene and legitimate foil for the others.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Kenya's fake drama is why I didn't like this season. Kim leaving murdered this series. Without Kim and Sheree there was nothing interesting for Nene. She doesn't have an interesting bond with any of the current ladies. I wish Kim had stayed so we could've seen their reconciliation during the season, which I feel would've happened.

Married to Medicine
I need to see more episodes to decide who I believe. Toya has been messy, but Mariah has been bad too. I find her to be worse than Quad because she always seems to think she's right and takes responsibility for nothing. That wine tasting scene with Mariah and Kari was terrible. I didn't feel that Kari was out of place and Mariah just was mad her friend wasn't invited and kept hitting below the belt. As I continue to watch the ones that I find myself REALLY liking are Jackie, Simone, Kari (yes, not a typo!) and Quad. They are all harmless, fun and unique personalities. Toya and Mariah are both haters and think too highly of themselves.

Well Nene has said she doesn't like LIsa, probably due to her friendship with Kyle Richards. Perhaps that has something to do with it.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I haven't watched it yet, but I think it would've been better with a competition style format instead of different people each week. Similar to Vanderpump Rules. Have Kandi as the host and mentor, but also have judges to showcase different styles.
