DAYS has been dropping the past few weeks, I bet they dropped again (a small decrease) last week.

Wonder how ATWT faired last week. The writing was as horrible as usual, but it is nice to see Damian and Rosanna back on the show.

So, I'm confused. There was a tie for position 3 and a tie for position 5. So AMC is really at the bottom of the demo, tied with some other show (what would that be? B&B? ATWT?)

The only shows equal-to or below AMC in the demo are B&B, ATWT, and they dead GL. And yet this still is a basis for celebrating "top five"?

Also, isn't this a COLOSSAL FAILURE, for AMC to be so low, when this was the week of the big shooting (right? or do I have my dates wrong??)

Do advertisers really buy this misleading spin?

Dates are completely correct. Both "Adam" and Tad got shot that week (on Monday). I'm surprised. I know the hits for the spoilers went up big-time and that has usually translated to a nice bounce when you see the ratings. Maybe the HH will show somewhat different, I doubt it though.

AMC is 5th out of 8th in the demos, IMO that definitely doesn't seem good, and I doubt advertisers would be happy with these kinds of demos.

I think Pratt has screwed his audience once too many times for them to completely trust him to do anything right.

To tell you the honest truth I think death and return from the dead have been so overdone on so many shows lately that they just don't generate that big of ratings anymore.

People don't invest in them anymore because it is only a matter of time before the next writer comes along and undoes it. So why care.

That is one of the big reasons I have been more critical of Y&R lately with some of the decisions they have made.

I was really on a positive note for daytime for awhile. But lately with some of the decisions made I am more skeptical and more down on them then I have been in a long time.

It is hard to push for fans to change the way they view when the powers that be behind the soaps don't care enough to try to be different and quit making the same stupid mistakes over and over.

Sorry but Pratt isn't the only one who has screwed the audience. The screwing began with McTavish, continued with B&E and now Pratt is just picking up not for sloppy seconds but for sloppy thirds.

Precisely. Death has become so meaningless on soaps that it usually does nothing for the ratings these days. It also doesn't help that most of these whodunit stories are slapped together for shock-value and rarely have a coherent plan or lay-out a compelling narrative that the viewers can follow and have a reasonable chance at guessing the killer based on an actual motive rather the writers pulling the killer's identity out of their hats five minutes before the denouement was filmed.

AMC was tied for 5th with DAYS, both at 1.2. They have it right in the top blurbs of the release but it looks like someone forgot to change the numbers for the listing at the very bottom

Plus they gave away who was going to be killed when they released that audition script over 6 weeks ago, so it kind of killed any suspense there might have been.

Typical ABC LOL

You both hit the nail on the head. I honestly think there needs to be a 'death moratorium', reserving it for SPECIAL purposes.

Looking at the 18-49 women demo, none of the ABC soaps are faring well. GH is 1.4, AMC is 1.3, and OLTL is 1.3. ABC cannot charge substantially more for GH ads than the other 2 soaps. Given that GH costs substantially more to produce than AMC and OLTL, ABC must be losing money on all of their soaps. The only way to make up for this is cutting the budget. I have been reading about more outdoor shoots and saw one today on OLTL which tells me that they are slyly cooping GL's production model.

I just don't see how anyone would expect All My Children to have good demos even with this nifty Stuart story. Just look at the soap in the last decade that had the best, most pure demos where so much of its audience was made up of young people: Passions. Then came JER's DOOL. Now take a look at AMC. There is nothing in common. I loved last week watching the Chandlers (love new Scott and Marion), but is this something 18 yr olds want to watch? Thats not how Passions and DOOL got to be a 1-2 punch in the 18-34 demo for so long.

AMC and DAYS are at 1.2 last week, not 1.3. If you read the press release itself (ignoring the typo for AMC and DAYS in the ranking list), it clearly states that AMC tied for 5th in the 18-49 demo at 1.2. Since NBC's average is also listed at 1.2 in the demo ranking list by network, we can assume that DAYS is the show that tied AMC.

So both shows are down .1 from last week.
