Here are some spoilers for the next few weeks. From Soapcentral

Spike comes across a disk with valuable info on it.

Spike starts by blackmailing Chris.

Chad proposes to Whitney.

Gwen and Whitney team up to help Theresa.

Jared gets a Job interview and is offended.

Theresa knocks Jared unconscience.

Kay takes away Siren's song.

Spike shoots Pilar when she finds him snooping around the Mansion.

Gwen comes to Theresa aid.

A naked Fancy and Luis share a steamy shower.

The Founders Day Carnival Is Back.

Siren gets exposed as a mermaid at the Carnival.

I'm in total agreement with the above mentions. You can just "feel" that JER is back penning Passions full-time, if that makes any sense. When I watch the show now, it's often with a smile on my face - and I'm excited again. That's all I can say to explain my mood when watching the show now that JER is re-in-control.

OMG YES!!!

It is like a whole new beginning-the show started with a carnival and is back full force with the return of the carnival. I hope Tabitha serves as a fortune teller again.

Spike shoots Pilar, "Lucy," "Jaresa," Siren is revealed relatively quickly, Gwen and Whitney teaming up to help Theresa-JER IS BACK!!!

I guess that rumor about him being pissed was true-he has Passions on a roll again!!!

Passions is starting to look like my show again-AWESOME!!!

Exactly-this is going to be great!!!

For the first time in years, I am looking forward to all of what is to come on Passions because we all know he wants to prove himself and a pissed off JER is a good one. We are starting to see his presence felt-oh boy are we? :lol:

Yes, Reed was the last actor to play Lloyd. Joe Lambie was playing the role when the Henderson flood happened in late February 1986. Reed replaced him in March/April. Reed was gone by June/July.

Gentry may have worked as a cousin of Travis. I wonder if the Dobsons had not created SB and if they had continued working for P&G if they would have wound up at SFT at some point? They had a gothic style of writing GL in the late 70's. I'm surprised Doug Marland was not offered a crack at it before he was at ATWT in the mid 80's.
P&G really gave up on SFT. It also seems a lot of popular soap actors never found their way to a role on Search like they did GL, OLTL, AMC etc...

Possibly, but Rod Arrants would have been difficult to replace -- and especially difficult when the Corringtons were no longer writing the show. Many of the characters created by the Corringtons had that back-story of Southern gothic stuff. And very few other writers in daytime would have understood how to continue that writing style. So with both a different actor and different head writers, I'm afraid most of Travis's identity would have been washed away by a recast. Just my opinion.

As the short-lived sudser turns 25, take a look back at the cult classic with the cast and crew themselves!It's an interesting read. Some details I definitely hadn't heard before including that Pratt was offered a chance to headwriter in 1999 that he turned down and that the plan with the Rosario jewels storyline was to reveal Phillip Vargas was a vampire, but that the twist was nixed because NBC wanted the supernatural for Passions. There are probably other details others might have known like Lisa Guerrero auditioning for Maria Torres.

Too bad the 1985 film didn't result in a reboot. It was better than the 1977 TV movie "Murder In Peyton Place". The absence of Barbara Parkins and James Douglas was felt.
Was Murder an attempt at a reboot or was it just a one off movie of the week?
