Wow Y&R went up lets see what happened last week, oh that is right the wedding and Phyllis finding out she is pregnant. :D

Wow all the shows went up this week and 4 of them were up .2. That's great.

The only downside is that ABC will still give us crap the rest of the months and pull out the big stuff for sweeps. And we will keep getting the stunts stuff like JR almost killing someone (this time Kendall), the big short term returns on GH, and the big disasters and explosions like this months tornado on OLTL. It is sickening. For months now we have put up and sat through crap on OLTL and now the show is rocking. There is no reason it couldn't do that all along. But the ratings have gone up and guess what ABC will go back to crap after May and we will get it until most likely around November.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OLTL must not gain during sweeps! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BRAVO for CBS! I love that Guiding Light went up! Y&R, well they are the champs! ATWT, Grayson McCouch is keeping my attention.

DOOL made it back to a real 24.5 not 2.5 still trailing major behind the rest of the soap. Maybe they need to dump these boring stories and disgusting contrived forced couples.

FIRE REILLY! SAVE DAYS!

Nice to see all the CBS soaps rise, especially GL and Y&R up .2! :)

I know that the ABC soaps are going to gain during sweeps though. Yuck. Well, during the summer the CBS soaps fare better. I appreciate that they don't pull off big stunts during sweeps. :)

Knew Days would rebound but not that much in demos and HH.

This week they will definitely go up with Jack returning and J&M and next week with BOPe finding each other and Alex saying sayanara it should be another good week.

Days is looking good right now.

Good job to all the soaps. Steve is right about ABC-they keep getting these huge numbers during sweeps and that means they will give you crap now until November. CBS and NBC should just wait it out because once sweeps are over summer is their's.

And don't forget about the Winters Drama. YEAH!!! A freakin' fantastic week for Y&R and the ratings are totally deserved.

i am glad to see days and the rest of the soaps go up, this was a good week for all the soaps

i also think abc pulls all these sweeps stunts for february, may and november then for the rest of the months of the year the ratings and sometimes the show is not good, i remember last year some of the abc soaps were geting bad ratings then when sweeps rolled around they pulled out big stunts to get ratings and it worked but then when sweeps was over there ratings were back down again. abc depends to much on sweeps

Toups, SOW says DAYS got a 2.2 for the week of May 1. And that OLTL got a 2.5...and that B&B got a 3.1...and that ATWT got a 2.4. The SON Ratings we have, have each soap .1 higher - just wondering who is right and who is wrong...

I'm happy DAYS went up, but I'm still not really happy about where it is. It needs to be higher! Hopefully, it will keep going up. :)

Whoo hoo! Glad to see +'s for ALL of daytime! That's always a good thing. I'm especially happy to see the CBS line-up go up, particularly GL and Y&R for going up 2 tenths. Now, if GL can just hold on to that 2.3 the next time DAYS dips (if that happens), GL could finally see 7th place again!

Also: Nice to see GL is not in last place for any demographic!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the big day of Luke's coming out on last Tuesday? He said the big 'G' word on the Monday cliffhanger and it continued over into the next day.

Yes, and Tuesday was the day that they ran the GLADD PSA. I know that the spoilers mentioned Tuesday as the day that Luke came out, even though he actually did it at the end of Monday's episode.

    • I don’t watch B&B but I did know about Heather and forgot her. I really don’t know anything about Lawrence. Do people like his scripts?   Yes she did! And I know she did double duty too, even if Bell slowly phased Julia out while she wrote for the show.
    • Well, you are the most ill-informed, condescending person on this board so I am glad you enjoy mocking me? Or whatever you are trying to do lol.  You literally can't comprehend the simplest things about the show and don't watch, but are literally shaming me for being a women?

One other side note, because now I've re-read 1993-1994.  I think that I found a ret-con issue. In 1993 after John finds out that Stefano is Kristen's father. It is not like I am claiming to have found nuclear fission, clearly mistakes happen.  But, I found this to be amusing. In 1993, Stefano becomes deadly ill, so Kristen tells John that she needs to be by her father's side, but not to worry about the deadly disease, because she's adopted.  Given, that I've always thought of Kristen as being adopted, until the more recent cannon that she is Stefano's biological child, it is interesting that in 1993, the week before Tony comes to town to announce that he is Kristen's fiancée.  Kristen is saying that she can't give blood to her dying father, because she was adopted.  So, the current reverse in cannon, neglects that detail. It is so funny to read this and then see Kristen and Tony in the crypt this week, 32 years later.  That's more than half the show's history at this point, amazing.
    • It was shuffled off the stove way before that. Think of the early summer stuff with Gio, Emma, and Dalton, which they basically dropped for weeks at a time, and then also put them on the back burner until recently.

    • After the slap it does feel inevitable - being arrested and thrown out right after her big win.
    • Yesterday it was Theo and Jada.  Today it's Chad and Belle.  What a mess.
    • I asked my soap historian GPT to help pull together the best available sources on Daniel Pilon’s run, and here’s what the research confirms: * Pilon played Max Dubujak on *Ryan’s Hope* from 1983–88. * He began appearing as Alan Spaulding on *Guiding Light* in 1988. * An academic source notes that he appeared as **Max and Alan simultaneously in November 1988 * His later-life interviews mention major upheavals, including losing his home in the Northridge earthquake and declaring bankruptcy in 1994.  That’s the factual foundation. Now for the human side of it. I’ll admit Pilon was never my favorite Alan. The Spauldings are supposed to have that patrician, Midwestern money vibe, and suddenly here comes this very European-sounding gentleman sweeping into Springfield like he wandered in from a different soap entirely. It created a strange tonal shift, at least in my memory. Whether he was intended to be temporary is hard to pin down, but honestly, looking at what he was dealing with in his real life, I don’t know that the show ever had a truly stable window to figure it out. He was going through marital strife, while being talked about as the "next James Bond" back in Canada, and juggling work on two soaps at once is a lot. Under those circumstances, the question of whether he was the “right” type for Alan becomes almost secondary to the fact that he was working through multiple emergencies while stepping into one of GL’s biggest roles. So for me, the story of his Alan isn’t just about casting fit. It’s about an actor navigating chaos and the show adapting on the fly. Also, the proverbial soap hill that I would defend its honor, is that Ron Raines in the final week was so amazing, that for me, it erases all prior memories of his performance.
