1. Jonathan Randall (GL) - Was introduced as a villain and while the show could have gone down the easy route and redeemed him after revealing his abusive childhood, they haven't. His relationships with the people in his life were not instant and took a lot of time to develop.

2. Dinah Marler (GL) - It seemed like they redeemed her when they paired her with Mallet but it's clear not they haven't. The character still has a ton of issues with self-image and trust.

3. Tammy Layne Winslow (GL) - She grew up with bad experiences from foster care, saw Hart killed by Dinah, had to deal with the death of the only man who was ever a father to her, was manipulated and used by Jonathan...despite all the crap this character has been through, she has retained an aura of innocence and faith that comes off as genuine.

4. Lizzie Spaulding (GL) - Comes off many times as over-the-top and a girl wanting to be the centre of attention but inside is the girl who feels completely alone because no one really cares about her.

5. Alan-Michael Spaulding (GL) - The show has done a great job explaining how his need for power is a result of years of childhood neglect and feelings of how he now has to prove himself. It's unfortunate his character has been extremely underused.

6. Simon Frasier (ATWT) - For a character we're supposed to see as a villain, he's really easy to sympathesize with. He's charming, funny, and makes every annoying character worth watching just as long as he's sharing a scene with them.

7. Carly Tenney (ATWT) - Finally! A character who isn't depending on her man or her friends to have a life and seeking independence on her own. Let's hope it lasts a while.

8. Luke Grimaldi Snyder (ATWT) - Not only has to deal with coming out, he has to deal with splitting his time and commitment between two parents.

9. Damian Grimaldi (ATWT) - I can't tell if there's even a small part of him who loves Luke and doesn't realize he's hurting the poor kid or if he really does have no shame in manipulating and using his son's love for him to get what he wants.

10. Lucinda Walsh (ATWT) - I can't stand characters who think they're always right...but most of the time, she is always right.
