Honestly the affair reveal scenes and even the treatment we saw of Bill towards Dani when the show started just make her look so pathetic everytime she cheats on Andre with him.

This show did not need to wait even longer for more things to happen. Following the strong cotillion with Derek's death, the Impaler reveal (however janky) and now this was a smart play for a new soap needing eyeballs, and hopefully will continue to pay them dividends going forward with a seemingly pleased audience. Frankly it's the kind of heat I expected when Guza was still here.
I am still catching up on the week but I will say last week's flashback episode with Hayley/Bill/Dani was I thought quite good, and a smart way to set up this week's events with them. Karla was very, very good in the affair reveal scenes.

Looking back...Primetime Ratings from the 80's

Gary Coleman really delivered for NBC in those years. Diff'rent Strokes survived various timeslot moves -Fri/Wed/Thurs/Sat and his TV Movies always scored.
NBC Fri & Sat schedules were a disaster-reruns of Dalton Gang and Goldie & The Boxer. They gave up by this stage of the season.

The tornado is certainly an eye grabbing event , but the real test is whether anything will come out of it. OUAT a big soap event like this lead to a death, an affair exposed, along held secret revealed, etc
But nowadays they often just amount -oh that was a scary night-someone is injured but recovers etc.
Hopefully this tornado wil have re-per-cussions.

One thread is in general "Discuss the Soaps", because a lot of the interview is about the process of soaps writing and a large part of the interview is about GH. in addition to Days. The other thread is in the Days section, since that's what Sheri is most known for. Whatever/wherever you think is best.

Guiding Light Discussion Thread

She brought some energy to the show again, as it had been moribund for a year and a half if not longer. The Brent/Marian story was offensive but was also very enthralling to watch. Unfortunately that was about it - little of the lighter touches or balance or heart she could have on AMC were on display at GL, leading to a very unpleasant show, one that got uglier and uglier as time passed, everything from rape to drugging to a civil rights hero paying to have themselves shot. Beyond some moments in the Brent/Marian story which had some heart, the only other story which did was the Down's story with Fletcher and Holly.
The "twins by two fathers" story with Blake was entertaining at times.
I'm not sure what she could have brought over, but the pill addiction story or the Down's story I could have seen on AMC.

Why do we need to wait for sweeps in 2026 for big things to happen? I don’t even think sweeps matters anymore and the more shows keep things interesting year round, the better. GH is good about this.
And I like the character of Haley and would never wish terrible ass Y&R of today on either the character or actress.

This tornado came completely out of nowhere and Im not sure why they are having an event like this randomly in the second week of June and not during Sweeps. Its big yet small time. Almost all the major characters just so happen to be at the country club? I would expect to see more jumps t other parts of town where others are effected

Still dont understand why the Y&R characters needed to be here unless they are seeding future storylines. The Kyle/Hayley pairing seems random and it would only fit if they plan on transfering her over to Genoa City once her con is exposed to Bill
