No offense to Mills, who in the earlier part of her run played a character much closer to OG Heather, even closer to Mary O’Brien’s version, but I could honestly never see her again. I know the hatchet job on Heather began under Guza/Pratt, but they use her for nonsense and I am personally tired of Ron Carlivati style hijinks on these shows. The thinking that it’s a soap so anything goes is really lazy and a waste of these talented actors.

Hot take, but I really hope their appearance leads to a return of Esme. The last actress (Avery P) to play her was so good, but I haven't seen her in anything since.

If Heather’s return leads to an Esme appearance then I’m all for it. Avery has a recurring role in the upcoming Netflix live action Scooby Doo series, but I’m not sure how significant it is. She’s probably gettable for at least a short stint.

Just when I was thinking about her exit. Sigh.

The limit for me was not just the weird baby swap retcon shenanigans with Franco in the latter half of Robin Mattson's tenure under Carlivati but also the twist re: Esme where somehow we're to believe Heather came across undead fugitive Ryan in some cabin in the wilderness years ago, and that's how they conceived a child. It's like Godzilla and Mothra, you don't need to make a new psycho the product of not one but two other towering psychos. It's just ridiculous!

I hope she's just back to being a red herring In the dumb stalker story. I prefer Mills' Heather more subtle, ambiguous and for the foreseeable future, offscreen.
