Do we have any info about this show? I find the idea of Marland creating his own soap fascinating.

Is it true that some of his ATWT characters were based on his new soap's bible?

There might be more info in the proposed soaps thread. I'm not sure.

I think there may have been claims the Kasnoffs were from that show's bible.

I remember reading something about the Kasnoffs, you are right.
I also remember reading that it would be a blue collar shop, this would have been refreshing.

And you are right, this should have been posted in the proposed soaps thread, I had forgotten all about it.

DAYS: Sony to begin releasing previous seasons on YT?

I've seen some fans complaining about these episodes...and then I've seen some fans complaining about the complaining and insisting that will make Sony stop uploading them. I have my doubts there. Low view count may but even then these are clearly being prepared and ready to go, as long as they don't have music, anyway. I hope they will eventually find some way to get the others up and just take the music out.
I thought this was a decent period for DAYS, even if they were still chasing the Reilly highs. They just inevitably failed at those highs and then I think the show started to suffer more over the next year or two as a result.
I'll never stop hoping for some '60s or '70s episodes. I know there is a lot of singing from Doug and Trish, etc. but you'd think some of those songs may be in the public domain now...

Great to see you on here again. I've posted a lot of these but they're still a blur to me so I always appreciate your comments.
I agree, although as you said we've had more than I had expected in the last few years. I hope we get more, and also more of Families, and some of those very short-lived UK and Australian soaps.

One Life to Live Tribute Thread

I can't see Dorian with the Dan of this period - I haven't watched that period in a while but I thought there were some homoerotic vibes with him and Jamie Sanders. Maybe with the late '80s Dan, Michael Palance, although he was aggressive.
I'd never seen Robin comment on the nicer Dorian of this period. It's real outlier for the character. I can see why she wasn't thrilled, although I think the break in her feud with Viki was a good thing.

December 1982 through mid 1985 was my second favourite era. But I agree that the last half of 1985 was a mess. The thing is that the elements were there to make it great again without discarding Larry, Clarice, Cory, Jeanne, Liz, Quinn, Thomasina, Carter, Grant Jr., Maisie, Nancy, Peter, MJ… Sally could have left town with Kevin after finding out that Catlin got Brittany pregnant. Killing her off was stupid. Quinn and Zack had great chemistry. There was plenty of story for their families. It took a decade before there were prominent black characters again.

You’re quite welcome and I agree with many of the points you raised. The incest line was wayyy too blatant lol.
And yes, I have memories from King on Melrose. Not so good lol.
Interesting to see the movie was written by Stirling Silliphant. Silliphant was in the twilight of his career by this point but of course no stranger to heavy and at times gothic melodrama from his earlier TV work—see Route 66 as the most prominent of his work. But I don’t if he still had the energy to deliver a weekly serialized series as opposed to episodic work.
You’re quite welcome. I’m sure if ABC had picked this up they would have probably ordered to be tooled more like Dynasty.

I'd thought they moved on from Dorian and Dan to Dorian and Asa, lol. Two totally forgotten romances a few years later, so it is very weird to see Robin and Phil Carey cooing over each other in this period.
