This convo makes me remember Brad Carlton in a speedo as the Abbott pool boy on Y&R. Cannot imagine anything like that on GH now.

Or any of the soaps...not likely to be anywhere unless it's a gay soap. The '80s were such a conservative decade but did have some freedoms.

There are some parts you just cannot recast. I could see Patrick possibly working out with the right actor. But without Robin there to sell it, it’s pointless. The current Emma never shared a scene wi

Yeah, LW and JPS do have real heat and chemistry. They've both worked hard as actors to sell this and are willing to perform. But that doesn't make Val less creepy or the Carly/Valentin relationship any less rushed and OTT schmoopy. Why stop for a candlelit sexfest while you know Joss is locked away somewhere? It's being pushed so hard because FV is clearly thrilled to finally have a safe and dependable harbor for one of his top faves again.

And to be honest, I have to laugh that they need a sex time out before finding Joss. It's fair I guess because no one really wants Joss back around.

Valentin and Carly has gotten a considerably better audience response than either of Howarth or Easton's last desperation throws with poor Becky Herbst, or Roger's sad last days with Maura and the bizarre, largely subliminal Maxie/Austin pairing. And Frank took quite awhile to give up on all of the above, so I think he'll ride this passable success til the heat death of the universe if possible. Or until Laura or JPS ask for too much money lol. I'd still end it and fire him of course (and promptly bring back A.J.), but we all know I'm not in charge. Probably for the best!

Justine the fembot actually has some life in her when she is putting the screws to people. First Willow on the stand back in January, and now hammering Chase. NC seems to relish it. If they kept her in that barracuda mode and out of active story or romance of any kind she'd be more palatable lol. The Sonny thing remains such a joke.

Seriously, is Lauren Holly up to doing daytime again, lol?

The whole Willow/Tracy interlude is a fairly silly timewaster, but it's ignited controversy on other forums so I'll just say I think the somewhat crooked elegance of the mess is that everyone is acting in their own self-interest or from their skewed POV. Again, that's just soap to me.

  1. Tracy pulls a silly, foolish con on Willow just to prove a point she'd already made.

  2. Willow takes the obvious bait without being invited to the house, clearly eager to see more of Chase. (We know this to be her character motivation after watching her flash back several days ago when she was last at the mansion, going from remembering BLQ warning her off of her husband to Willow doubling down to spend more time with him instead.) She may not want to seduce him yet but she clearly enjoys his attentions and spending time with him, whether she fully admits it to herself or not.

  3. The women tussle, a fall happens for one reason or another, and then they play out he said/she said so Willow can flex her influence and power.

  4. Chase unquestionably buys Willow's side of Rashomon and tries to charge Tracy up the wazoo.

  5. BLQ retreats to her corner, still scheming against Willow (just like Michael is), her tension with Chase heightened that much more.

Whoever the audience sympathizes with or believes in, the situation continues to get thornier from here. Do I think that whole mini-drama was the best way to level up the ongoing intrigue? Not really, I thought it was silly and a bit too clumsy of Tracy and beneath her. This creative team often goes the very obvious route with this sort of stuff. (And I also don't think the show was offering the canonical final word on Tracy and her sons from Willow's mouth; I think that was Willow simply going for the throat and was not meant to be taken as gospel.) But I also thought it worked well enough to keep heightening the situation. The only problem is this story should've started steaming stronger months ago.

It probably doesn't but as long as JPS doesn't fall out of favor like CM did with Frank, he will be front, center, and treated like a hero. Ugh. Gag me.

I saw those types of comments too, that Willow had no business knowing about Tracy and her sons and that she has a good relationship with them, etc. There have been instances of anti-Tracy writing but I felt this was, as you said, Willow lashing out (and of course Tracy once had a very difficult relationship with Ned in particular - and Willow being literally laid up with Quartertmaine men for years would mean she'd have heard some of that).

It's all, on paper, juicy, the execution is just somewhat sluggish outside of the work from Jane and Katelyn. I hope they will also include some scene of Brook Lynn expressing some level of support to Tracy as she still too often acts superior to her.

Agree with this. It's just that Jane Elliot elevates even the stupidest material, so I bought it. I cannot watch GH often but the Tracy stuff I've seen mesmerizes me due to Jane.

I think Nico and Julie were paired on AMC.

I assumed BLQ was going to circle back to telling Tracy was she was on her side, but she might not to keep up her plans. She clearly seemed to me to only be outwardly siding with Chase after the arrest to put him at ease while continuing her own plans against Willow, which are (surprisingly) beyond anything Tracy currently has in mind. Outright framing her re: the accident by spoofing Willow's GPS, if that goes ahead, is something Tracy or Edward would've done in their prime. I am very for this turn in Brook, even if I am surprised FV is letting it (so far) go there.

The other Quartermaine irony is that both cousins (Michael and BLQ) are scheming against Willow, in their minds for their loved ones' own good as well as their own self-interest and anger. Only BLQ doesn't know Michael considers her marriage a necessary casualty too. I think that's all very messy and in keeping with the family traditions myself, but it outrages other parts of the audience.

I don't see much evidence that Cameron has fallen out of Frank's favor. Frank has accommodated his medical issues and outs and kept Drew played heavy til recently. Cam may be ready to get out of the chair, but I think GH has given him a meal and a half the last 2 years.

Yup, but I don't think it lasted long. Nico eventually moved on to Cecily, but I guess remained friends with Julie.

Yep, they were, lol. Thanks, @Franko , for that picture.

I think the idea of BLQ framing Willow for the accident is killer, but what if Willow really did cause the accident? Or what if Willow, realizing what BLQ is up to, confesses in order to play on Chase's sympathy? BLQ thinks she's doing what's necessary to keep her marriage together, but all she's really done is push her husband and Willow closer together. (And I would even throw in a side story about racial backlash stemming from Willow's light sentence for causing an accident that nearly killed Jordan, a WOC).
