Concerning Joey, I keep seeing these theories online that Joey is Isaiah's father.

Hmmmmm......

I will never stop beating the drum of what a horrible, off-putting, and irrelevant character Ashley is, and what a boring actress Jen Jacob is (she can’t rise above the horrible writing for her charac

MVJ definitely needs to slow down with her unwarranted fascination with Jon Lindstrom - the character is awfully written, but there is nothing interesting about Lindstrom’s performance either. Frankly

I personally don't think that disliking White Savior Joey is an indication the character is working. If it's a choice between King Joey and Duprees Strong, I choose neither.

Sixteen months since BtG began and Alex Alegria still can't act.

It's strange because he appeared to improve to me a few months back, then all of a sudden, he's back to the way he was in the beginning.

He did. When he was up against Hayley mind you, but there were hints.

Well...unless the dialogue this week is going to say otherwise...it seems like Bill and Dani did a LOT more than make out off of how they acted after the fact to me.

I do too. I feel like we're going to see little by little in flashbacks that they did much much more.

I also wonder who will put it together that Bill wasn't in the stairwell considering that's where Kat and Eva were trapped unless their is more than one stairwell

All caught up and please forgive some errant collected thoughts on Tornado Week, occasionally stream of consciousness.

  • First, I'm really surprised and pleased how well BTG delivered on this crossover. I haven’t seen one this solid in ages and that includes the baby swap on AMC/OLTL in the 2000s, which got tedious and which I had fundamental issues with. It was also undeniably a ratings success for ABC though, and hopefully the same will hold true here. Man, BTG made Y&R eat shít on this. As so many have noted (including Y&R's cast!) it is crazy the #1 soap looks broke by comparison. And I don't just mean the FX during and after the tornado - the set, clothes, extras from the beginning were all on point. Hopefully power moves like this, the cotillion/shootout, etc. and keeping up the pace will help secure another renewal for BTG simply by maintaining this rhythm. Not every period on daytime can be like the last month or two, but this is the energy with which the show should have been moving from the jump. There was also more of the bold camerawork and tracking that we saw during the shootout, which reminded me of the old Gottlieb days on OLTL in the '90s.

  • Folks poorly searching for Hayley in the disaster: "Young woman, Black, very pretty." Doesn’t narrow it down on BTG! Still, the only soap you can say that for in this country.

  • Damn, that blood effect on Eva with her coughing it up was nasty. Looked like a Friday the 13th sequel. I haven't seen anything that brutal gore-wise on daytime in a minute.

  • Everyone did very well, particularly Daphnee, Colby, etc. But I was admittedly amused by Mike Manning sobbing because his job depends on tree casualty Martin’s life! He’s not going back to The Bay! He doesn’t wanna do verticals! I like him a lot, but that was my first thought lol.

  • Ashley really thinks she's an EMT already with these walkie-talkies after 5 minutes. “Go for Ashley!” Girl, relax. I did like the walkie interlude with her and Andre, though. It's been long enough between their last serious interaction that it wasn't cloying or saccharine like their relationship last year, and it felt different. If they do touch on that again going forward with the drama coming up I will keep an open mind re: a fling, though I don't think there's any mature pairing or truly interesting romance there.

  • Peter Bergman and Susan Walters are clearly thinking about staying in these scenes lol. They don't wanna go back to the dusty mascot at Crimson Lights and the Starbucks pods! I would not hate if the Kyle/Hayley dalliance somehow continued. Anita clocking them was great. Even Devon and Abby seemed like they could slot in a bit. Well, maybe less so Abby. She's always been useless. I did love Leslie asking Diane 'what's your secret?'

  • Very good job simulating realistic major weather in the brief exterior (or 'exterior') stuff with Jacob's car driving in the storm. GH, etc. didn't do half that in similar situations recently.

  • I have no moral judgment to render on Bill/Dani. I get why people are mad but it's all just soap to me for now. I feel for Andre, I like Andre and Dani and I also enjoy Bill and Dani fúcking. Let it rip!

  • This fireman looking awful weary at Izaiah like ‘I gotta go down some stairs? 😩’ Yes sir. Hurry up!

I could see that, too. And while I think there are several stairwell...that would be a clever way for someone to figure it out.

Thoughts:

  • So out of all of the houses in the neighbourhood, it was Bill and Hayley's house that was put out. So now they are staying at the Bowman? Interesting. Very, very interesting.

  • Both Bill and Dani remembering their little tryst in the elevator while with their respective partners? I love it.

  • It sounds like Vanessa is dooming herself to end up in the same cycle she once described herself as being in with her own mother. That has got to be so unfortunate.

  • Of course you did not know, Katherine... you chose to be the same spoilt, self-centred bitch you have always been and kept your nose turned down on her.

  • Damn. Poor Eva. She has got a long road ahead of her... and it is sweet seeing Dana in purely mom mode with her. Those are the moments she needs to focus more on.

  • You kind of did talk a lot of this into existence, Katherine... this is your karma being put onto others. Ted, you are wrong: she is to blame for this. She absolutely is.

  • Oh snap... I forgot that Bradley and Martin likely did not know about what happened to Eva because of everything going on with Martin. Wow.

  • Hayley not knowing the entire background of the Abbott family and Jabot is... interesting. And of course she is interested... I suspect she could possibly show up in Genoa City sooner or later.

  • I know Martin's intentions are good, but given everything he himself has been through, it is a bit risky. But good on him and Bradley for doing the testing.

  • Oh! Calling Vanessa. Good idea, Dani. I feel like Vanessa is the one person (outside of Pamela) who could handle this.

  • 🤣 Hayley, your ridiculousness is not helping your case, considering you did kiss Kyle Abbott and danced all up on him in that closet without your wedding rings on. And c'mon, Bill cheated on his ex-wife with you... you are not the prize you believe yourself to be.

  • Oh. Hello Heather. You made sure to get to Joey's place as fast as humanly possible.

  • Absolutely nothing in Heather's demeanour leads me to believe that she is returning to London tonight and referring to Vanessa as the "bad bleach job" tells me everything I need to know about what is to come.

  • So it is confirmed: Bill and Dani had sex in that elevator. And good on Vanessa for calling out that this exact situation was bound to happen.

  • Dani is right: this could crush Andre, but it is the wrong decision to not tell him that she slept with Bill.

  • I adore how dedicated and protective Bradley is being of Martin. Shows his true, undying love to him and the vows he took so serious.

  • Homegirl, the LAST damn person you need to be calling is Andre in this situation. Bad idea. Bad, bad idea.

  • Andre, you trying to run to Garland to be there with your family is just going to aggravate your injuries more.

  • Damn. They are really just going down the list of potential donors that are not a match for Eva. Poor girl.

  • Of course she is hesitating in getting tested. Continuously self-centred and a spoilt bitch. She will never budge. Gross. Disgusting. Uncouth behaviour. GET HER MARTIN! GET HER! KEEP YOUR FOOT ON HER THROAT!

Notes:

  • 😑 Not two consecutive days... praying that this means we will not endure anything else until sometime by the end of next week. A clunky, very lacklustre script today across the board.

I knew it. I just couldn't image them doing that scene without them actually doing the deed.

As I said before. Hope we don't get a little Dandrea.

It came. It went. And it was oh so fabulous!!!!

Those episodes were great. That's how you up the momentum that is already there. And do I even need to mention cliffhanger after cliffhanger after cliffhanger? And so many little storylines to follow through on. And best of all, it took stories that have stalled (Eva vs Kat, Andre/Dani/Bill, the misadventures of Ms. Kristen Dimera...I mean Hayley) and gave them turns. Or potential turns in the case of Eva vs Kat...cuz I think we all know what we think of that. :)

As for the crossover part of it all...I thought the characters for the most part were used well. Victor with the speech. Diane...with HER history...being used to humanize Silk Press Sheila. Kyle flirting with Hayley...whom flirty side was turned on all last year when Izaiah was introduced so good to see that side again. I discussed Devon yesterday and how he fits so much better on this show than Y&R. Abby...still Abby I'm afraid...lol. I did feel they didn't emphasize her being Victor's daughter enough. And yes, I did holler at Victor up and leaving his own daughter there.

Shoutout to Anastacia for her shockingly good panic attack. The actress was a literal statue at one point in the background of conversation and that genuinely surprised me. It was eerie. Which is probably why I noticed it as the scene went on. Well-done. Then she got drunk. And her rolling her eyes as Dani rushed in cuz of course a Dupree ain't listening to a fireman lol.

Well, I've been picking on this show forever about how they had backburnered one of their best stories in Andre/Dani/Bill for too long. And I had hoped with the flashback episode that it was going to be restart it. Don't get more soapy than the exes that still have feelings (and actor/actress with chemistry) trapped in an elevator. And I think we all knew something like this would happen between Bill and Dani before Dani/Joey's bet was up (hmmm just several more months to go). Timon and Karla definitely have chemistry. And Karla was so good that you could pick out the exact moment you saw Dani get tempted by Bill's entendres. And like I said earlier...I think they had sex. So I can't wait to see this new and messy development come out. Moreso because we saw Andre's mind on one thing...HIS WIFE. Can the couple that actually communicates (and are hot together) get past it THIS time? Tune in to find out indeed. I love Andre/Dani/Bill.

I loved the slow progress of the characters trying to figure out who was where. The camera angles were great. Ashley and Naomi through the window. The chandelier scenes that echo poor Julia and the tornado on AMC. And I gasped when it turned out it was Martin under the tree. I had not even realized until Ted and Nicole mentioned it near the end of Thursday/Friday's episode that he had been MIA. And then not him passing out on Nicole and Smitty!!! They did such a good job of setting up the Richardson-Smith family unit...not only last year, but on Monday...that that Friday cliffhanger hit!!!

It definitely was time to have a turn in the Eva vs Kat rivalry. And nothing like one of them in danger. TBF...Tomas was yelling for Kat Wednesday or Thursday so he did care a little bit. And poor Kat for me. Because she already knew how people would see it (since they were together) when everyone realized where Kat and Eva were. We have been talking about how no one listens to Kat even when she is telling the truth about Eva. So more villainizing her. And she knows it. Interesting Tomas did nothing while Jacob gave more emotion.

Speaking of Jacob...definitely curious to see where this growing dark turn for him will go if it is getting him in Joey's face.

And what was up with Anita? She was giving shades of Episode 1 Anita (who I LOOOOVE) with the icy glares she started to give Hayley after seeing her with Kyle. Could SHE be the one that winds up exposing Hayley? Or is that a story beat we are about to get? Or is it just isolated to these episodes...I hope not. We haven't seen that Anita in a long while.

Overall, loved the crossover. And now comes the real test...can the writers continue to follow through with the clear momentum and fresh story turns they just introduced?

PS. THANK YOU, NICOLE for checking Silk Press Sheila!!!

I hope we don't, either, but I would not be surprised if it were snuck in. I mean, I wouldn't hate it, but I also do not want it.
