Yeah this is the trailer for second half of Season 61.

The past few years they released one trailer around October or November, and the other trailer around May or June, each one covering between 5-7 months.

I expect this trailer is for everything up to Day of Days.

Several months of DiMera-focused episodes? No thanks!

This looks so boring. Just more of the same dreck stretching out over several more months. It isn't even that most of it is BAD on its own, but the stories completely lack thrust and definition. It makes me feel like I could tune in in November and not have missed anything of consequence.

Ya know, I didn't like it when Uncle Ron tried to turn our soap into Days of our Leo or Days of our RSW, but now I'm starting to not like Paula/Jeanne trying to turn it into Days of our Dimeras

I mean, I'm glad that it looks like Johnny and Theo are front and center, but EJ, Lexie, Kristen...

I am looking forward to Xander/Sarah though, and whoever Stephanie's gonna end up shooting.

And definitely, Dimitri!!!!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍

That's one Dimera that needs to be used a lot more. There's so much that can be done with him now that he's kicked Leo to the curb.

Not a Horton in sight, and nothing but Dimeras, Dimeras, Dimeras and back from the dead and yada yada. That's why I stopped watching. I just can't get excited enough by this preview to tune in again.

I'm still not sure why the show decided the Dimeras are meant to be a core family. They were intended as antagonists. I could understand it more if Eileen was still around as Kristen but even then that was never the role.

If I had any confidence the show was heading back that way, that's one thing. But the preview seems to be doubling down on the human ZZZQuil that is Brady and Sarah with the equally-dull ILYs and Marlena basically alluding to Xander that he is delusional about reconciling with Sarah. (Then again, Marlena should not even be Xander's shrink as far as this goes, since Brady is her stepson, but whatever.)

Add in more DiMera overload (Joe Mascolo/Stefano is GONE. Let them rest in peace already!), freaking cartoon Susan, and the misery that is Chanel's health, and yeah. Not too intrigued here. But the Kayla/Steve bit is always welcome, and Joy has a spark. Hope the show keeps her around this time, even if I think she deserves better than Alex.

Finally, Stephanie shoots "an innocent man". Not too many of those in Salem, so that's really the only MILD curious angle here, IMO.

One positive bit: The show IS re-introducing Chad properly. Weaving Conner Floyd into things SLOWLY, allowing the audience to adjust to him before throwing him into story. But his version of Chad, to me, doesn't seem to have many sparks with Belle, so I hope the show eases up there. (Though I doubt it will.)

What a boring mess that promo is, and this is the summer and early fall.....yikes. Like holy DiMera! I get the show sees value in having a villainous family front and centre, especially one spawned from one of the show's most well known characters, but this is really overload. I've said it before, without Joe Mascolo or Eileen Davidson, this just doesn't work. DiMera corporate and back from dead stories are boring and overdone. It was all Carlivati did for 8 years, did they not fire him for change? Like just burn the DiMera's to the ground, I wish Lexie would go Gwen Alden on them all! Like just kill them one by one. Instead we'll probably see her argue with Theo and EJ about how the DiMera company should change for multiple episodes, it won't of course, then we'll watch her slowly die again while everyone screams and beats up on EJ. And I assume we'll be getting another DiMera...the one hiding the "Easter eggs"? 😵‍💫 Awful.

The few other things not tied to the DiMera's....like snooze town. I assume Johnny and Chanel will have a crap load of boring scenes whining about their love and worrying about her cancer and the baby, and they'll all end up fine in time for their 2027 exit. That love scene will probably be one of the 2 or 3 times we'll see Lani and Eli between Summer and Christmas. I assume Sarah and Xander will just have a bunch of angst and shouting and Xander will continue to sleep with Gwen while Sarah and Brady continue to keep the sale of ambien down amongst Days fans. And this summer is the 50th Anniversary of Marlena???? All we see from her is a scene telling Xander to get over Sarah and another of her with her family in the pub. I assume she'll get the same treatment everyone has gotten in the past 5 years for anniversaries, some scenes in a random episode, sitting around a table at the pub or bistro remembering 5 or 6 key moments with everyone saying awe and how sweet everything is.

I get the show has a 0.99 cent budget and shoots 5 episodes a day, but there has to be more compelling stories than this? Like read a history book on Days, look to the 1960s and 1970s when the show had a small budget but told compelling stories. Even if they copy the story word for word into the scripts today, it would be better than this.

I haven't watched DAYS in years... but when I see a soap promo, I check it out from time to time... and this is one of the worst promos I have ever seen. Wow. Nothing interesting happened in this promo. And it's not even that I know who these people are, I do know vast majority of them. I didn't recognize maybe two people, and now I realize they are a recast Theo and a recast (undead) Lexie?!? LEXIE?! They really just bring back everyone and anyone from the dead.

If they didn't just completely forget about the Hortons, I bet they would have found a way to bring back Alice Horton back.

Gross.
