The years of trying to make Mac and Alexis happen were awful.

Cosgrove looks bloated and aged, but I suppose it happens. He certainly isn't on the Cam Mathison training regiment.

Same.

Yeah. I may loathe Drew, but I can't say the same for Cameron Mathison's training regiment. He can still get it.

I actually thought DC was good on Days and clicked with KA until they ruined his character.

I was trying not to say it, but true. One of first pairings in a loooooong time that wasn't Bo that the audience did get behind and KA actually had chemistry with, too. So it went to Hades. Twice if I remember correctly.

I personally didn't get the vibe today that Ezra and Laura were potentially getting paired up.

Don't worry. I pointed out other times before today's episode. ;) But like I also said earlier...Frank could easily get bored and drop all the anvils. He's very much about his Flavors of the Month.

Frankly, I'd rather see Laura become a lesbian than to hook up with Ezra Boyle.

lol.

I actually think DC’s current look actually works as Ezra. I was initially shocked when I saw him pop up the first time but he’s such a slimy sleaze he perfectly looks the part.

Yeah, the first time I saw him in the role (by GH's promo) I did think that and also rolled my eyes because he immediately was giving that 'wacka wacka' that the writers like to do with their new annoying characters.

Seeing how good Jeff Kober has been this season on The Pitt just makes me that much more angry about his role at GH as Cyrus. They styled and presented him poorly throughout onscreen, to the point that both in terms of physicality and in story Cyrus came off like a doddering old man quoting Bible verses or weeping for pity because he ran over Dad in the driveway, all the while vaguely terrorizing people like a Scooby-Doo villain or a hokey carnival barker.

Most of this is because this era's creative team fundamentally does not do well writing supervillains and especially mob-related villains. It is not their wheelhouse and never has been. They got a tremendous actor in Kober from China Beach, The First Power, etc. but did not know how to execute, whereas most of Guza's campiest criminals still had a sense of menace and lethality to them. This team and FV fall in love with unique character actors and are generally content to have them merely gesture towards villainy and then tread water for months or years, making both the villain and the lead characters look impotent and weak for not dealing with each other. Cyrus meanders around town whining about his mom and begging for Laura's love for months, then has silly connections to Roger Howarth, then he's maybe reformed maybe not and quoting scripture and so on. It's the same floundering, ambivalent approach with Sidwell today, though Carlo Rota is far too irreverent to project real menace in general and also does not do well with high dramatics.

If they'd leaned into letting Kober off the leash as in his classic roles, or gave him have the solemnity and soul he has had on The Pitt this season he could have been something really special - and scary. But they fell in love with having him around, with making him Laura's brother, and he came off far more toothless and past it on GH than he actually is. I have to apologize to Kober, who I've always liked a lot in other things. He's still got it but GH couldn't write it. This has been your pointless late night thought.

You've got to be kidding me! There's ZERO chemistry between those two.

I think the Boyle character is reasonably enjoyable for what he is: Slime. But legitimately pairing him up with Laura? Pass.

That's certainly NOT happening. Ezra is a hoot but pairing with Laura is laughable again NOT happening.

DC was great on GL as Billy, and he was paired with former Lulu (Emme Rylan). They were perfect couple on the show.

Love love love love love the show The Pitt. Jeff Kober is great in this storyline arc he's currently in.

It's time for the truth about Cyrus's demise to be resolved with his sister Laura finding out that Joss killed Cyrus, perhaps Carly spill the beans accidently?

I am not. They teased the pairing for years. Sam, OG Molly, OG Kristina and Maxie would create situations where Mac and Alexis would be forced to interact and then the show would forget about it for 6 months and bring it back up again at random. I don't think they ever did more than kiss. It honestly wasn't the worst idea in the world with Felicia off the show and Alexis basically hanging around, but it went nowhere. The lack of care and thought was more annoying to me than JJY and NLG's chemistry.

When I think Jeff Kober, all I think of is his two roles on BUFFY...the vampire who was obsessed and stalking a powerless Buffy on her birthday in Season 3...and he was scary as hell in that role. And then years later, he was brought back as Rack...completed to the growing Dark Willow arc in Season 6...and he was soooo creepy interacting with her...the inflection in his voice when he said she smelled like strawberries. Two completely different characters and he sold both. And those are two footnotes from a great long career when he plays evil so well. So I was happy to see him on GH. But alas...

Boy, did you nail it about Jeff Kober. His work in The Pitt has been spectacular, and it makes me want to apologize for every negative thing I've said about him as Cyrus.

GH failed him so badly it's unbelievable. They hit the lottery and had no idea what to do with it. It's one of the biggest botches in years.

Which is why he won an Emmy and a nomination for his role on GH. This reminds me of Max Gail who I absolutely adored when he was on GH winning twice and wished he stayed on.

Are you saying his two nominations and Emmy win at GH are proof the show used him correctly? Because they didn't.

He's an actor. A really good actor who turned in some great performances at GH -- and we all know the daytime Emmys celebrate specific and even isolated performances.

Over the years, writers worked way too hard to keep the character around, making Cyrus a chameleon who made no sense. It's typical GH, keeping a villain long past the expiration date.

Then by the time the character is on his or her way out the door, we're too exhausted to even care.

No, just saying that he's uniquely good in his craft period regardless of if it's a big or a small role.
