With KS also living out of state I think this seems very plausible down the line a bit. I think BA suffers from a couple of things, especially post Ron Carlivati. His character isn’t generic. The way he speaks is specific, as is the way he acts and the humor that used to be inherent in having scenes with Spinelli, Maxie, and someone stoic (that’s the nice way of saying that!) like Sam or Jason. He also isn’t classically soap handsome leading man material, which shouldn’t matter but I fear does matter to FV.

His leaving the show to raise his kids outside Hollywood was his choice. Carlivati didn’t really do him any favors but he at least got the point was he was quirky. Mulcahey starts doctoring the scripts and Maxie and Spinelli have personality again, because they had the care to give them back specificity and someone who knew their actual characters.

I know many people complain about the Spinellis and the Lucy Coes, Scotty, Tiffany Hill, etc. but I think GH especially needs people that fit in doing a caper, not just the super spies, mob wars, or cops and robbers type adventures. They break up the seriousness. There is a reason Claire Labine puts Lucy in partnership with Luke and Sonny at the club. And like Lynn, BA and KS have a knack for quick witted writing.

Oh, I definitely think BA's looks hurt him. He's not cookie cutter handsome like Chase or Nathan, but at least he has a personality. I legitimately wanted to strangle Spinelli in 2010 ish. He was that obnoxious. I do feel like the show has made attempts to make mature him and Bradford is adept at playing him that way. I also think in the Guza years the show really walked the line on Spinelli being comedically quirky instead of possibly neurodivergent. I can understand how that could be difficult to write.

I think on current GH he works better as comedic character and cyber genius. Most of the nicknames and obnoxiousness are gone and you feel he is a great, loving family man. For all these reasons I could see this being the end of Spinelli and Maxie's story (for now). Give them their happy ending and put a pin in it.

He could drive you crazy for sure. But with the right people I found it amusing. Like when Brenda returned and he finally got to meet The Divine One. I used to love how much that pissed Sam and Carly off. I will be honest I liked his nicknames better than almost all the ones Luke used. They felt more like how a hacker would identify people- by screen names.

Lol. The Brenda love went a little too far in 2010. Everyone didn't have to talk about Brenda or love her at the time although I totally got it ha ha!

I remember Sonny/Brenda having a date a Jason's penthouse and Sonny called Spinelli a freak (or something similar) and Brenda fiercely defended Spinelli. Telling Sonny Spin was sweet and he was out of line. There is also a hilarious set of scenes where Spinelli tells Sonny to protect Brenda's virtue and not to sleep with her too soon and Mo's facial expressions were hilarious.

Lots of great comments here about Maxie, Spinelli, and Lucy, as well as on Deception and Crimson.

I will say it can't be easy writing for multiple main characters who choose to live out of state and across the country. Even with block scheduling, that has to impact what we see.

Meanwhile, I'm putting the finishing touches on my "Spinelli has Parkinson's" long-term projection.

I've said it a few times before, but I would absolutely give Spixie more focus for a stint as PM did, then a splashy wedding. They're a longtime popular couple, fans like them and it's time. They directly pre-date Frank though, so historically (unless it's a senior couple from the '80s) it's highly unlikely. He seems insecure about those modern popular couples at this point. He knows how many the Guza era generated, and how few he has.

If Bradford and Kirsten both don't want to commit more time to big story, a short run arc followed by that wedding would be enough. I would like to keep them around and active in story, fluctuating in airtime and probably not frontburner right away or any time too soon, but if they're not able to go for that then yes, I'd probably write them out or put both on recurring for now. Even though I would be moving teen Georgie into up and coming youth set story. If Spixie don't stay in town she can stay for school with Grandpa Mac and Grandma Felicia.

Lol! Felicia pivoting and comparing a young mother dying and an orphaned newborn to Lulu/Nathan dating is a choice. Like, life takes you to weird places! Liz (side eyeing) yes, this is exactly the same as a dead woman and an orphan. I am sure Maxie being happy with her life partner and family is really the same because Lulu is dating her ex-husband. Go do some PI work instead Felicia!

DA lady recapping her Sonny sexy times is a hard no for me especially when she is with wooden Jordan.

Negative points for Chase mentioning Violet and starting to sing. Do people really consider him a good at that?

As far as Maxie’s kids go, there was a real missed opportunity with Maxie being very much at heart a “cool girl”, and having one of her kids be as nerdy as I imagine Spinelli was as a kid. We could have even SORAS’ed them and eventually got to a She’s All That moment where the glasses come off and now it’s supermodel time lol!

I think you could still do that with Georgie 2.0. All you need is a recast, a pair of glasses, and a computer lol.
