I think the opening from 2017 was fine and to go from that to this now is a downgrade. At least the one prior to this one didn’t give off “cheap”.

Except, this one was caught using stock images with tags still intact. 🫠

How is it possible Josh Griffith has been at Y&R on and off for TWENTY YEARS??? That is nuts to me. His imprint is forever woven into the fabric of the show having been there so long. You would think he would have a better handle of things but sadly he does not.

He definitely needs to go but who should be the replacement?Who would even be qualified at this point?

Unfortunately, I've given up on Griffith being removed. Demos/ratings seem to be performing, and that's what the heads care about.

As for who could replace him as head writer? If we're dipping into former head writers, Trent Jones is who I would immediately jump to, and possibly promote James Harmon Brown to co-head with him. Or fresh blood who can infuse some new things into this soap.

Chelsea vs. Sally was kind of fun today. It was nice seeing both have some claws, which I feel like Josh Griffith filed too far down. Sally telling Chelsea she's being a Newman and it's where she belongs, as well as calling her out for cheating on Billy, was priceless. Simple dialogue with some historic background. That WORKS! Plus, a bit of that history between Kyle and Noah, mixed in with Audra? Let's keep those stories going, shall we?

So now that I see the real story we are being cheated out of is a Kyle/Audra/Noah triangle.. can we ship Sienna back to L.A? Or atleast put her in an age appropriate triangle with Nick and Sharon or something. Audra has chemistry with both Kyle and Noah. There is real potential there.

-- Noah had more chemistry with Audra in one day than Sienna had had with him in months.

-- Sally vs Chelsea gave us some good scenes, but it all falls apart when you look behind the curtain and realize it's just more awful business talk about who's running what media company.

-- We've never seen ANY media discussed on this show.

-- What will change when these companies again change hands for the 40 time? Nothing. There's no stakes in any of it. What does it mean when someone "goes after" someone else? Nothing.

-- Elizabeth Hendrickson does a nice job directing, but things were awfully static again today. Characters took their places and barely moved from the sofa, the bar stools, and the coffee bar.

-- I would advise her to stop with the wide shots at Crimson Lights when there's NO ONE else there.

That CL set. So badly needs a makeover. Still don't understand why this set always misses on having any extras and why directors go for shots that emphasize the fact.

What's with the big googly eyes? Is this Chuck E. Cheese?

No idea, but they've been there for 100 years.

I'd definitely be hanging out out a cafe that hasn't changed decor in nearly 30 years. With a juke box that's never used, those weird googly eyes, the creepy puppet, and a barren looking 'courtyard'. No wonder it's always empty.

Crimson Lights is fine as it is. smfh.

I respectfully disagree. CL makes TGI Friday's look like Tavern on the Green.

To each their own. I've always appreciated that they've never tried to make Crimson Lights something else it wasn't meant to be. During either Jill's tenure or Mal's tenure, we got an update to the main counter, which was a nice change. But it didn't change the entire set (which is not needed). It's that one comfortable place people can go to that's still familiar and from a particular time period (much like the Abbott/Newman sets).
