The only one who you could argue changed quickly with little build up was Drew.

And that would be an argument because I felt Drew's changes were gradual as well. I do take issue with the writers going too far by taking away the only redeeming factor he had as he was changing: Scout. Whether one loved the actress or not, if the writers were going to have Drew running around being this way rather than masking his villainy like a true politician...which he was doing cleverly at first. His courtroom meltdown could have been a way to pivot him, too, I felt. Because I knew Drew had jealousy issues with Jason...which is why him dropping Carly like a hot potato when Jason returned under PM...hilarious, BUT in character...but I never knew he had grown so much hatred at Michael's place in the Quartermaine family. It's something that could totally be his throughline going forward and something that is just itching to be explored.

He’s so mad at Dante I can see him misinterpreting a scene between Dante and Brook Lynn, or feeling like she sided with Dante over him, and marching straight to Willow.

I was sad to see a rift between him and Dante, but I do love that the writers have kept that tension going throughout multiple stories. Chase has also been a hothead at times (and CS can play him like a kid having a tantrum). They just need to pick up the pace in growing a rift between him and BLQ so that that can happen.

(I did think they would have Brook Lynn start to develop feelings for Dante but for now she is still devoted to Chase)

Or perhaps once Lulu and Nathan happen (ick), Dante will start to have feelings for her. BLQ probably won't develop feelings for him though until after she finds out Chase slept with Willow. And by the time Dante and BLQ get together...'Nathan' is unmasked, bringing us back to the BLQ vs Lulu rivalry which has been too dormant.

I could see that happening - knowing Frank, Valentin will save Lulu from "Nathan."

I just hope whatever they do Alexa gets a chance to act.

Ugh.

But...same. They haven't given much for Alexa to do since the rivalry between Lulu and BLQ has cooled waaaay down.

I could see that happening. It's hard for me to imagine them actually pairing Dante and Brook Lynn but I could see him jumping to conclusions.

I think they may toy with it, and have deliberately kept Alexa's Lulu away from reuniting with Dante to keep him in reserve for any development with BLQ (which is stupid, but anyway). I assume Chase will misinterpret something between them and sleep with Willow, which will then give Dante and BLQ the go-ahead should anything happen; FV will never allow Brook to be seen as more than largely innocent and the party injured first. But if something does happen between her and Dante I doubt it will last or be much more than one night, which renders this whole long hold kind of silly.

I think Mulcahey's evolution of Drew into a cad and political wheeler and dealer made sense (though it needed more insight) as Billy Miller's Drew and Cameron's had already had that businessman side and Aurora, but where he's gone since was more extreme and has had much less explanation and depth. I enjoy the changed character but we've all talked about it needing exploration.

Very stupid. Especially in light of the fact that at one point Dante and Lulu were THE young couple on this show getting story after story after story. BLQ been a rival in that story before as well. So there's enough history there to play with. As long as the writing doesn't slant.

That we have. And still discussing. Should have never taken away his own Achilles heel.
