So, Marlena couldn't make it to her great-grandson's Christening at the hospital because she was on a day trip to Chicago, but now she's back at the hospital for a doctor's appointment? OK
That was pretty bad. And I don't think a budget issue was the reason for that obvious continuity error.
But I did enjoy her scenes with Sarah. They work really well together and I like the relationship that Days has established between them. We got a really good insight as to how Marlena was feeling after all the mistakes that she made with Brady and Rachel. I still say that her actions and her illness should have been tied more to her grief over John's death though. That was a missed opportunity. But I'm glad that she's ready to return to work at the hospital. And that they were able to discuss Sarah's growing relationship with Brady.
Speaking of Brady, I enjoyed his showdown with Kristen as well... and that it looks like they're over for good. I'm glad that they're finally at a place where they can both admit how toxic they were. It shows growth, for both characters actually. Now, Kristen can just leave and go back to Aremid or something lol
While I enjoyed seeing Julie actually working at the bookstore, I had mixed feelings about her scenes today. I like the discussion that she had about grief, but I kinda wished it had been with another character. I really have no opinion about the character of Foster, but I don't want him in a relationship with Julie. And not just because of her and Doug's iconic couple status. But I am looking forward to the first meeting of her Bereavement Book Club with Maggie and Marlena.
And yeah, Leo just makes me sick. And no propaganda, or well written dramatic scenes are gonna make me like him. I did feel bad for Javi though, despite the acting and the crying. Maybe when he returns, he and Dimitri will develop feelings for each other lol and I'll say it again, (especially after his scenes today) Peter Porte deserves so much better than this. He's too talented and too charismatic for this nonsense, and also, to be trapped in a bubble with the two most unlikable characters on the show. I can't believe he's being wasted once again. He did look good though
This really does remind me of Dex/Joss on GH. Dimitri is Dex: a character, played by a talented actor that deserves so much better than what he's getting, and also is trapped in a bubble with two extremely unlikable characters. And Leo is (and always has been) Joss: a selfish POS that's constantly propped as this good person when they're clearly not. And the writers just don't get it.
I do think David Kreizman is a good scriptwriter, but I'm not too familiar with his HW work. I know when he was co-head writing ATWT, he was largely responsible for the character of Reid, and a lot of fans liked that character.
@Soapsuds How was DK's work on ATWT?
