No one is ever going to make me feel bad for not complaining or nitpicking on a show that I actually really enjoy.

I think the condescension from some is f'ked up though. Who gives a flying fig if someone does not want to spend their time complaining. It's the weirdest thing.

Bill collapsing could have been done at Winterfest. Wasn't he supposed to co host the auction with his ex Dani?

Bill could have collapsed with Dani panicking and going back into wife mode with him while Ashley and the handsome new Doc get to work with making sure he's breathing and alive while Andre notes Dani's reaction to Bill's collapse while Hayley gets a panicked look afraid that she'll be exposed.

That would have been more than enough to make Winterfest an event with a payoff.

If Vanessa is really falling for Joey, it's ridiculous. If she's trying to trap him, it's ridiculous. Why would she have to go public to take him down? How does that protect her kids or her own reputation? It doesn't make any sense.

And now she's getting drunk over Joey every day? Uh....ok.

Regardless, it's hard to take a mob boss seriously when Randy is his right-hand man.

This show handles drinking in a very bizarre way. That's all I'm going to say. Next time someone becomes an alcoholic and then stops drinking just as abruptly to serve the plot... we'll talk again.

Let me also point out that one reason I have a huge problem with Joey and Vanessa is that they are white people running roughshod over Blacks and POC -- blackmailing, controlling the police department, working over a sitting Congressman, operating the escort service that so many POC in the area apparently need.

I know that everything isn't about race, but I expected this show to be more sensitive to the optics. I'm white, but I hate the optics to so much of this. You cannot throw in historical references and talk about Black legacy and then follow through with white people in control.

Today's episode was much better. I was a lot more invested. Anita/Bill were great! Hayley and Randy with their Marv and Harry from Home Alone caper. I enjoyed Dani and Andre. Vanessa and Anastasia were a bit over the top, but at least comedic.

Really the only downside for me was the Chelsea/Madison story. Not because they are a female couple, but the reasoning for why they are "fighting" makes my eyes roll.

The pace of today was much better and moved story. I hope it continues the rest of the week.

As far as people complaining all the time, isn't that the American way? Society wouldn't be society without everyone's constant b*tching and moaning. I'm not sure most people even know how to be positive anymore. lol

I just watched Friday and Monday back-to-back and maybe it played better that way because I enjoyed it more than some here seemed to. For starters, the holiday decor was beautiful and everybody looked amazing. The wardrobe department really shines with events like this. Even have nots like Jan and Ashley looked amazing. Leslie, Dani and Nicole were my best dressed but no one looked bad.

In terms of story, I feel like I got what I wanted out of it. A huge chunk of the cast was included and we got lots of interesting interactions. Greg Vaughn is a professional so I'm not surprised how smooth his intro was. Loved Vanessa with Nicole. We had another good Naomi/Hayley confrontation. I'm glad they incorporated Mona and Laura into this event! I love the build of this story and am excited to see where it goes, especially with Marcel in the picture. It doesn't hurt he has strong chemistry with Leslie which might be worth exploring long term. The actor looked amazing at Winterfest. The cameos were fun as well!

In terms of drama, I thought there was enough simmering. I didn't need more. If this was a British soap I'd feel differently but we know US soaps don't go all in during the holidays with the drama. I feel like we'll still get more throughout the week.

This was a warm and successful holiday event in my opinion. I could see them using this episode in the future for a repeat. I know many wish it had lasted longer and I wouldn't be opposed to that but I've gotten used to the shows quicker pace. I'll definitely take this over it lasting a week or two like some soaps tend to do. The only thing I would've changed is some of the stuff we couldn't see but we know that is based on budget/set availability.
