I keep wondering if that is going to be part of the reveal (the dad's abuse is what motivates Amy's choices), but it looks like Aaron hatched the magic sperm

And her mom is barely seen. No wonder she seems a little crazy. The first Sophia could at last act. Rachel Boyd is so bad she is fun to watch lol.

I liked how Abe is being used and Abe is right Paulina has no idea how the Dimeras have ruined or turned many Salemites over the past 4 decades.

Amy Choi used to be around all the time.  It's odd she's almost completely disappeared.

Her dad has never been seen, but he was mentioned looking around Chicago to find Sophia when she was "in labor".

Sophia has 2 younger brothers according to what we have heard and the assumption is that her parents are still married.

Boyd is comedically awful, but I am assuming the show is phasing her out.   She's losing her mind, turned villain, and Tate isn't the father.

I adore Tony's accent when he says, "Theo Cah-vah"

They somehow made an episode full of recapping feel exciting. Kudos to the actors. Though, I think Leo forgave Aaron way too fast. That animosity should have lingered for a bit longer.

Before I started watching regularly, Melinda was just a name on a page and had a permanent residence on my axe list, but Tina Huang is so brilliant to me. She always elevates the material, and to do that opposite Rachel Boyd is a magnificent feat. Still, as warped her performances can be, the show has done well to still make me sympathize with Sophia. Does anyone else think she could end up taking a page out of Ali McIntyre's book? Would the show still have the cajones to go there? With Rachel shooting EJ and those graphic scenes when Xander beat the hell out of Philip, I think they could still pull it off. Anyway, I wanted Melinda's last scene to be of her getting hold of Amy and telling her how much trouble her daughter is in. I almost hoped when Sophia opened her bedroom door, Amy would have been standing there to stop her. Excited to see what tomorrow brings.

Abe recalling the best version of Lexie was like summoning a mention of a Goddess. So happy to see Abe is being used properly again. Very interested in where they're going with this mentorship. It's always smart to tie a new character to an established one.

Close, because Lexi was used as an angel last year to magically cure Paulina's cervical cancer, and Abe's amnesia (it was as bad as it sounds). So, it is cannon that she has celestial powers, like her mother.

It's starting to make me wonder if Amy was originally EJ's shooter. And that the reason that she's suddenly not around anymore is because she wasn't supposed to be.

That's actually a solid theory.

It's strange she's so completely hands off Sophia now.  I could see if she was just so disappointed in Sophia giving the baby up, but she seems fine with it?  Idk, she hasn't been on since she saw Baby T, right?  When she was supposed to be on Johnny's murder trial jury?

Yeah. I think that was the last time.

And, I remember her saying something, in the aftermath of EJ's shooting that implied that she felt like he got what he deserved, which made me suspicious.

Plus, Ron Carlivati thinks people of faith are all crazy anyway 😂 I could see him doing that.

And it would be the easiest choice to make the brand new recurring character the shooter. Cwikly/Ford improved the story leaps and bounds by my count. Coincidentally, Amy was in the guest cast this week so I guess we'll see her tomorrow.

Agreed.

They've improved a lot of things over the past few months. Days finally feels like Days again.

Melinda is involved in a lot of things, but she is used sparingly.

Is she only in private practice now, or does she work for anyone else?  I recall she's not the DA, because EJ got her out over the Jude stuff, and then she worked for Dimera, but got kidnapped and fired.  So, now is she's just an ethically compromised lawyer, but overall kind-hearted person?  She'd be a cool talk-to for Belle.  But, I can't recall if Belle has a reason to hate Melinda (I know she doesn't like EJ, so one assumes that would color her advice to Belle).

For example, I had to remind myself why she's not culpable for Julie's stolen necklace (she returned it to whomever she bought it from, and they sold it to someone, who sold it to Gwen).  But, I don't know if Melinda knows that Julie has the necklace back, and I wonder if Melinda will be welcome in the bookstore?

I’ve always really enjoyed Melinda, and there was another actress before this in the role that I also enjoyed quite a bit. I’d like to see more of her.

-- Regardless the reason, the absence of Sophia's mother has been GLARING. If she's back, maybe they can salvage it, but thee entire sotry would have made more sense if she were involved.

-- Tate and Aaron SCREAMING at each other in at the Brady Pub was a bit much. More than a bit much? Tate forgiving Aaron immediately is ridiculous. I understand wanting to move the story along, but jeez.

-- I was happy with Leo Howard as Tate for a good while, but he cannot play angry. At all.

As much as I thought Aaron broke bro-code before today, I appreciated that they’re still just teens fumbling through situations way more complicated than they’re ready for.

Every time I see the actor playing Aaron, he's so much bigger than I remember.  I don't care how old that actor is in reality, it looks like we've watched him go through puberty over the past two years.  And, given Leo Howard's other limits, somehow now that Tate's in college, I no longer think about how he looks older. Especially in scenes with Aaron and Holly.

Brady doesn’t treat Tate as the Black heir.  For example, Tate would learn more working for Basic Black than as a busboy. While some families groom heirs (Theo as CEO), good-guy nepo-babies like Andrew, JJ, and Shawn weren’t shaped by family ambition.

Sofia’s revenge plan was a mess, no doubt. But based on the timing, it’s believable she didn’t miss her first period until after sleeping with Tate. So I can understand why she might have believed—or hoped—he was the father.

And having been an 18-year-old guy, I get why Aaron didn’t tell Tate until he had no choice. We don’t know Sofia’s full intent, and I may be giving her too much credit, but it’s possible she saw Aaron struggling with his family and told him he wasn’t the father to spare him more stress. That’s not how Aaron remembers it, clearly, but I’d be willing to accept that as Sofia’s version of events.

I like the tension of everyone heading to the Choi house at once. Even with the uneven acting, I still feel for Sofia, and I hope she gets a moment of real sympathy in the fallout.  Because her intial intent was to find someone to help her terminate her pregnancy, she wasn't trying to entrap Tate.

Today was a little.... ehhhh. There were some things that I enjoyed but there were also times I found myself asking, what for?

I still don't know about Jeremy being a teacher either. It would make a lot more sense if he was working security at the hospital or something. But I enjoyed his scenes with Chad. I didn't expect them to ever share scenes like this together and I'm glad that they did. And I'm sure Jeremy referencing some of the sins of the Horton family is bound to make some people happy lol. Thomas. Chad's Horton bestie will always be Will lol but I wouldn't mind him and Jeremy building a friendship. He really does need someone to talk to about everything that's been happening with Thomas and Cat.

Speaking of Cat, I definitely don't know why we couldn't see Aaron tell Cat everything about Sophia and Tesoro. I guess Rafe did need to know everything, but I would rather have seen Cat talking with her brother and trying to figure how they can move forward from all this. Unless her scenes with Rafe were meant to be a chem test.

And now that Alex and Jeremy have met for the first time, I'm interested in seeing what happens next in this storyline. Stephanie does need something different to do, honestly. And like I said in the spoiler thread, RSW channeling his inner Maurice Bernard today when he threatened Jeremy made me laugh a little 😂

Leo was just unnecessary, again. Clearly, it means something when all the characters that are meant to be comic relief are unnecessary.
