Meanwhile one of the nods to history I would have kept (Kelly's) they got rid of.

So many of these ties just feel meaningless. I know people hate the OLTL crossovers but I tend to prefer some of those (or ABC crossovers in general) if they can have some current story with current characters. I don't know any story purpose for having Jackie Templeton as Chase's mother or a dead Jimmy Lee Holt as Austin's father.

At least I could say trips to Corinth were nice for me and one or two Loving/GH viewers...no idea who out there would want to hear Jimmy Lee is dead but here's his son, who looks like two rapists.

The thing is people, including myself, wanted a Jimmy Lee Holt child to show up at some point.  There was so much you could mine from that story, but then we got Austin.  It's more of a slap in the face because a lot of fans wanted it and Frank thought he was using valuable history while giving Howarth his 15th role.

The AMC/OLTL/LOVING crossovers bother me to no end.  I know they all exist in the same universe, but we have multiple OLTL/AMC actors playing new parts on the show.  Like using the same actors numerous times in different roles, it makes me feel like I am dumb as a fan.  As if I didn't realize Sarah Brown is now Claudia or Michael Easton has played 10 roles or Ryan Lavery and Babe are on my screen.   I've always felt the show should pick a lane on this.  Small winks and nods are fine and using actors from other soaps is obviously fine as well.  Just don't pretend everyone knows Erica Kane or Lulu is writing for the Llandview Banner when Vicki's right in front of me playing a different part.

Ugh why did Ronnie go along with Martin’s scheme in the first place?

Very good question. It's hard to believe they won't answer this, because it matters.

I don't think Martin has any set personality. For long periods of time, he was some kind of quasi-comic relief, with a Foghorn Leghorn accent that the show had him take classes to magically get rid of.

See, that's what I sort of expected, since as you know, he's pretty good at the comedic stuff... although the accent sounds dreadful haha. I'm glad he magically lost that.

-- My biggest laugh today was seeing Anna sit at her desktop computer and type "Jenn Sidwell" into the Spyder search engine. Seriously? This woman has this high-level and powerful position, she knows all about the WSB, and her research is reduced to Googling??? 😂

I had the same thought LOL.

Oh boy, when I first got back into GH and I saw they had MEK doing a colonel sanders accent as his every day voice but somehow was Laura’s brother and Cyrus’ as well, I thought he must’ve lost some bet. I don’t even care they magically made him lose it. It was stupid and distracting from the start.

Marty is finished after this Monica trash

It's sad because it's a pure waste. I don't see any redemption after this.

So I had to find some clips of this to see what y'all were talking about and oh my, y'all are right, that was pretty bad haha. It was clips of Martin and Lucy during Christmas, where he's wearing a Santa outfit. That accent was something else. Was he meant to be a recurring, short-term character and then they decided to keep him long-term later? Otherwise I can't imagine he'd want to keep up with that accent for years... It reminds me of Cady and her accent on BTG LOL - but she's very recurring.

The only twist(s) that would save this poorly conceived Ronni plot is to have her turn out to be a Vickie alter. And let me add that if James E. Reilly were writing this show, Martin would turn out to be Tad also with DID and he and Ronni met on skid row in Center City and came to PC to fleece a family as rich as the Lords.

I have never been clear as to what Martin brings to the show.  Scotty could basically fill the exact same role and interact with the exact same characters.  It's not like the familial bond between Martin and Laura is super important or strong.

MEK crushed it today. As far as Martin's future, it's bleak - unless he's being blackmailed into doing it. I only wish Laura could've witnessed this after her high and mighty attitude with Drew.

BTW - Does Martin have an alibi for Drew's shooting?

I actually don’t hate Martin being in town as another lawyer. This might be the only soap right now airing with 5-6 lawyers and I love it. Port Charles is the largest town of any the soaps population and set wise of any of the soaps. It actually makes sense that all the lawyers exist and represent others for me and makes me happy 😂

I'm just glad this plotline will likely end the latest merry-go-round of 'put the older ladies with any cheap recurring player.' GH had spoilered the threat of pairing up Martin and Tracy either around this time last year or in early '25 in the mags. Martin and Tracy then had a bunch of cliche clashes fitting a typical hate-to-love pattern for awhile, but it thankfully never went anywhere. Now here we are and I assume from this it never will.

I lost all interest in Martin when he lost the beard and the Foghorn Leghorn accent, which was about the only extent of my interest in him to begin with. There was never much meat on the character to begin with. Now he's just a whinier Tad.

Michael Knight has always been a flop on GH. I don't know what they were going for, and they probably didn't know either, but none of it has ever worked.

They should have just had him play his character from All My Children. Same for Eva La Rue.

I think there are too many lawyers.  Even if it is the largest cast in daytime 20% of your cast shouldn't be lawyers.  There are almost more lawyers than hospital workers.
ADA Sonny bot and ADA Molly are redundant.  Alexis, Diane, Ric, and Martin end up splitting cases and while that's realistic, there isn't enough story to go around.  Plus, it entirely pushed Scott off the canvas.  Believe me I am no Kin or Scott fan, but he is an important character and could do the same thing Martin is doing with actual history behind it.

I actually liked Martin/Lucy for a minute lol.  But again, Scott could have easily taken his spot instead.

The show seems scared to pair Tracy with anyone.  They teased her with Gregory, a little bit with Cody, and Martin.  I don't mind Tracy without a love interest, but it's odd the show drops them as quickly as they start.

I wouldn't say he is an Eva La Rue level flop lol.

He is a stunt cast day player that outlived his usefulness.  GH is full of those characters.
