Should have been Julia's son.  NO ONE in town even question the last name including Sonny.  An FU to fans.

Duhon and Gehardt look similar to me, but Gehardt was a very hot silver fox replacement for Greg Vaughan not too long ago.  I would not hate him as an Eric recast if GV isn't available.

That would work.👍

Exactly. And weren't they teasing that out or Coop being somehow connected?

I don't think anything was teased. Fans just picked up on the name and thought it could be connected.  Which Barrett isn't the most uncommon last name, but there should have been a point to it.  I assume Guza was just faking us all out and trying to woo Vanessa back in any sort of fashion.

I have some GH questions.

After Shell Kepler (Amy Vining) died, did the show do anything to acknowledge either the actress' death or the character's absence in a timely fashion, or was Amy's dying just mentioned in passing years later, like Jessie Brewer's?

Whatever became of Mike Phelan Webber, whom Rick took in during the 1980s? Did Laura consider Mike her brother after Rick and Lesley adopted him? (I don't know; I couldn't bear watching the show during that decade.)

Someone else will know better than I do, but I think the first mention of Amy's death was here, at around 9 minutes:

I'm not sure about Mike. In 1986, he left town with Rick, Ginny, and Rick Jr, moving to Omaha, to be near his biological father Derek Barrington.

(this is all cribbed from a Wiki)

Someone who was watching that period more than I was may know if he was mentioned in 2002.

Unless they were close before Laura vanished in early 1982, f he ever did interact with Laura it would have only been briefly - maybe during her 1983 return.

I knew about this mention of Amy. It may have taken TPTB five years, but at least GH finally got around to giving the character closure.

I'd rather have seen Mike return as Laura's adopted brother than for her to have gotten stuck with the likes of Cyrus, which is why I was curious.

Thanks, as always, for the information.:)

I hadn't even thought of that. The show could use another male character in that age range - more than Laura needed two retcon brothers. And it would have worked well when Denise Alexander was still able to make appearances as Lesley.

I wonder why they didn't just bring Roger Howarth back in this part instead of a retcon son for Jimmy Lee Holt (and then they killed Jimmy Lee off even though Steve Bond is still alive - unless he is unable to act now).

I remember an insane rumor in the 2000s that Zander Smith would turn out to be Mikey Webber lol. But he and poor little David Mendenhall (who was a good actor!) were a fan punchline for so long that I think they just have never gone there, in addition to the Webber clan being largely forgotten for many years.

I have thought before about bringing on, say, Rick Jr. to sort of fill the hunky doctor mold his father and uncle once did. But never thought of Mike, really. It would make sense for Laura to hold a reunion and have him just make an appearance someday. Maybe for Lesley's memorial.

That would be a good idea to have Mike return for Lesley's goodbye.

I do remember a lot of fan derision of Mikey (and Jeremy) when people would talk about those times.

Speaking of returns, I see the last actor to play Dillon seemed to be pitching a return. That could work (I could see him tangling with Cody, or getting Gio into some kind of problem), although you could probably recast Dillon without much fuss.

It’s interesting that at one point it seemed like there was very little for Nina to do and now her entire family outside of her mom, are back on canvas. As a Nina fan I do like that she’ll have someone other than Ava to talk to given Ava has no problem betraying her like she did last year and just last week.

Oh, not that himbo.

I would want to bring on Dillon eventually, but not that bland hunk. You'd have to either lure Scott Clifton back or get someone unique.

I believe that dedicated fans appreciate when shows mine the past and use established history, rather than foisting awkward retcons onto beloved characters and historical events. Over at TGL, with several canonical blood Bauers available to use, TIIC decided against using any of them to rebuild the decimated family, and instead gave us a bunch of retconned, faux Bauers instead of the real thing. It went over like a lead balloon. There are so many characters from GH's rich past who could be reintroduced to Port Charles; do we really need an endless stream of newbies all the time?

I did not want Howarth on the show in ANY role, let alone THREE. UGH. Soaps have to stop casting the same actor in multiple roles on the same show. It's lazy casting, if nothing else.

I admit that I do like Nina will have more to do.

That said...she read her own daughter down so a great start.

Would Clifton want to leave the front burner barely have to remember lines because it’s the same [!@#$%^&*] over and over cushiness of his Bold job?

Omg the way she read Willow down was EVERYTHING and such a long time coming. You could tell she had FINALLY had enough of her dimwit daughter.
