Jason saying “I’ll miss you mom” instead of Monica. Wow that got me. Steve is doing amazing work. Also him telling Michael he regrets keeping him away from the Quartermaines.

Supposedly he also told Robin this in the late 2000s. I don't remember it but I'm sure it's possible. He openly told Carly they fúcked up with Michael around then, and apologized to A.J. and Alan only after they were 'dead'/dead. (I don't think Jason has ever really dealt with A.J.'s last death or what Sonny did.)

And yeah, Rory did well. I was shocked they remembered that used to be Susan's cottage.

They're one of the few couples worth rooting for 😉😂😂

I'm a sucker for young/teen couples so I totally understand. I'm looking forward during my binge this weekend. Hopefully.

They are handling Monica’s death perfectly so far for me.

So I'm going to cry. Got it. :)

Good to hear.

I don't think it's all Steve's fault that the Quartermaines were decimated for 20 years. There were many factors. But I also don't think he did much to push against it, and he could've. Steve was the one lobbying for Kimberly McCullough's return in 2005 when the show was at a new low, and he was right to do it. Her return slowly refocused the show on the hospital and doctor characters in a way that has lasted and only grown stronger over the next two decades. He could've been a bit more open to nuance re: Jason's memories and many other things. Either way, I'm just glad he's been showing up for them in the last year.

I agree.  I don't think it was at Steve's urging or that he even wanted it.  So many different things can be blamed.  Frons's directives, JFP hating veterans, Guza wanting the show to be the Sopranos AND both Steve and Mo loving being bada** mobsters. There was a point during the Monavie era that I thought a lot went to Steve's head and he had way too much pull.  He seems mellowed and more open now to play more nuance.

Yeah, I'm not trying to say SB should be blamed for everything, but I can't help but feel like he did play some part in the mob taking over the show, and the Quartermaines being wasted and shoved to the side.

Anyway, today when Michael kind of brushed off Jason rejecting the Q's as being so long ago, I was like "Ok, but you both still happily associate with the guy who killed Monica's son, and choose not to use the Quartermaine name, that's not ancient history."

The really should have had one of Lucas/Anna/Dante say "OMG, Nathan?" at the end of the show.

Michael should go back to the Q name, which he took briefly in the 2010s. He has been a Q in everything but name for the better part of 15 years anyway.

Also have to shout out Rory as Michael. He hasn’t had a single scene with LC as Monica and yet you could completely feel Michael’s heartbreak.

this!

I believe Jason talked to it about Sam too.  Maybe around the time of Michael's prison rape reveal or when Sam really wanted a baby?   Kind of the same era though.

Oh, I don't think Steve was some sort of innocent.  I think he loved being the star and didn't advocate for his veteran co-stars.  I also don't think he advocated for them to be fired either.  He was just more complacent in the going ons at the time.

I don’t know why he ever switched back to Corinthos. It’s not like Sonny suddenly wasn’t the guy who killed his father. He literally lives on the Quartermaine grounds.

The show is clearly gunshy (as it was then) about making too many changes to that status quo that would alienate the Facebook, etc. crowd, even if it has changed dramatically from the Guza II days in many ways. (Case in point: The Quartermaines being the center of the show again)

I'd just do it, probably shortly before bringing A.J. back and revealing Michael has known for some time. It's ludicrous that he lives there, is active in ELQ, is a key part of the family and yet he, his wife and his children all still go by Corinthos lol. Same with changing Drew's name back to up the conflict. No one can stop him from using it.

I’m just curious if there are even fans that would quit watching over something so trivial since Michael literally lives his life as a Quartermaine unless he’s getting blown up at Sonny’s penthouse.

When soap mags were still real, and Stuart Damon was fired, I remember how publicly pissed Kimberly McCullough was, and she spoke out. I always thought she was a real one for that. I also remember around that time Geary talked about how they were on the set and someone else noted they were not valued anymore. IIRC it was Leslie. And Tony said none of them were young and important anymore to TPTB. I remember at the time reading that and thinking if Tony Geary feels this way then none of the vets are safe.

I don't think any would quit watching, but there are definitely a number of vocal fans who see Michael as Sonny's son and who don't want the show to get too far into him saying otherwise. I saw some tweets over the last few days blaming Alan and Edward more than anything with Sonny, Jason and Carly.

The other issue is there's not a lot of story left in Michael rejecting Sonny or Carly, unless they bring AJ back again.

This awkward middle ground is probably the best the show will get...which is a lot more than I thought they'd get based on my memories of the Guza years.

Loved Tracy having Ned and Brook Lynn be there for her.

Poor Danny finding out by overhearing Liz telling Jake. And then Danny going to comfort Jason.

They are handling Monica’s death perfectly so far for me.

Considering Rory had no scenes with Monica and no history with Leslie Charleson, I give him his flowers for managing to show Michael's guilt and mourning. I wish they could have shown some flashbacks with the other Michaels, even if he wasn't in the part at that time. I get why they didn't though.

It helps that physically he does remind me of a young Alan, or Gerald Hopkins' version of AJ.

I don't know whether to respect or be annoyed that Drew remains such an [!@#$%^&*] even after getting plugged twice. I am sorry we never got any moments where Monica could react with disgust to who he has become.
