Hahaha, dead!

I asked before if Alex Alegria was BtG's version of Ronn Moss, and yeah, he is.

That’s an insult to Ron Moss.

At least Ronn had charisma to get him through. Alex just has a bod.

Tuesday's episode was good but I couldn't get over how much Tomas tanked those scenes with Kat and Eva. This was a huge moment and they gave it their all while he just stood there. Shame of whoever is keeping him employed. This is a professional show and there should be standards. There is no excuse to have someone that bad on the show.

Eva vs Kat was damn good soap. The look on her face when she realized Nomas told Eva everything! So gross! But then Kat was so cruel to Eva damn, that was such even writing, both gave as good as they got, there wasn't your typical writer's pet vs person who isn't allowed to call the other a hypocrite. Tomas talks sh!t about each with the other and then is "oh, ladies, let's not be so harsh!" What a POS! Eva's little speech about being like her mom was a little too on the nose (Ambyr was already conveying it with her expressions and mannerisms) but that was an Emmy reel right there.

Everyone was emotionally destroyed except Ridge... er, Tomas.

We often say BTG doesn't play all the beats but they did with this triangle and it really paid off.

Negative note is wtf is with Nicole's story. I resent her relationship with Carlton being told entirely from Ted's POV. Nu Ted has no game anyway. I want to see Nicole's storyline, I don't even understand if she is attracted to this guy (who is totally unmemorable) or trying to annoy Ted, or what. It comes off like their interactions are always background with Ted in the foreground, like their relationship is developing offscreen.

Thank you for this well-thought-out post. I agree with everything you said. EVERYTHING...

Me and Eva right now. GOd, she went from being my fave to someone I hate

Same. I do not like her anymore, well, too much like her mother.

Ronn Moss wasn’t the most expressive actor (although he could be surprisingly effective in scenes—like when Ridge learned Caroline had cancer), but he had real star quality and a model’s ability to know his angles and hit his marks. His chemistry with women was so strong that he was the anchor for three classic pairings (Caroline, Taylor, Brooke). He was almost a parody of the debonair, square-jawed soap stud, and you could roll with his take on Ridge for the most part, even if you were rolling your eyes from time to time. He was a one-off.

AA ain’t that. I feel bad for him to be honest. Obviously, he’s not being held at a gunpoint to be on BTG, but it must be so soul-deadening to get this kind of audience feedback. But TPTB should really put him and us out of our misery.

One thing’s for sure, Ambyr Michelle and Colby Muhammad are going to be pros at green-screen acting after working opposite AA.

Yeah but Ron had charisma and was sometimes at least amusingly bad. AA is just a robot programmed to say lines.

Speak on it!! That was the most annoying thing about yesterday for me which was a great episode. Everyone was GIVING. And he...was just THERE.

Hairdresser 2, Bougie Bitca from Behind the Gates 1, but she can easily catch up. ;)

I loved yesterday's episode outside of that block of bubble butt having wood AA. It was definitely a case of several stories going on. None of them A story, but what I liked about them was it was a good test for what in B/C Plot Land was holding up while some plot threads were keeping good beats going.

This show has good B plots, but I would not say solid B plots. Or at least B plots that were solid almost from the beginning of when said plot started. Doug/Vanessa/Joey was a good one. The rivalry between Eva and Kat has been another one. There had been so eye-rolling moments and some slanted writing, but those actresses are superb, especially when they are mixing it up. I called them for my co-worker yesterday Black Carrie and Black Sami hehe. Because that whole reveal with Kat realizing Tomas slept with Eva was great. She gave good. Eva...who did not have ANY remorse so TeamKat over here...got some good licks in. And then the kicker...Kat STILL wants Tomas (ugh) and Tomas surprisingly friend zoning Eva after all the star-crossed lovers writing the writing team was giving them. I hollered at Eva's tears as much as I shook my head at Kat not giving up Tomas basically because she STILL wants to stick it to Eva. Complexly messy.

I liked they kept the D/V/J storyline at a simmer. Though I guess it says something to how good Kat vs Eva is that it actually bugged me when the story went over to Vanessa and her pain. lol.

Martin turning the tables on Smitty was good as well. They were apart, but they were not completely together yet. And given what's been going on with June and in light of Martin's Secret and light aftermath from it, I didn't think they would just get back together like that. But it really had not been very vocal. So I liked that Martin put on those grown folk pants and expressed himself. Sincerely. And when Brandon said 'baby...' I swooned a bit. One of the disadvantages of starting a show with an already established history has been the fact that we as the audience have not yet started to see couples form or even couples we want to root for. And on a soap, you gotta play the longing. Both BC and MM have played the longing well so far and I wasn't ready to give that up. So good to see it will be continuing.

June...and Ted??? I know Vee is laughing. I like it, too, actually. I had to giggle at the Morris Chestnut comment 1) cuz I can see it and 2) cross-promotion for the upcoming new WATSON season that Morris Chestnut is in. The writers already seem determined to put Ted in a Crazy Woman/Straight Man relationship situation. So a crazy woman trying to better herself...gives it some rooting value. And you know Silk Press Sheila will go bananas. There's some nice possibilities there for story. And hehe at June practicing with Jacob and Naomi. It was a nice C plot.

Something I do need more of...and I know I sound like a broken record...more of Nicole's life. Good to see her out with Carlton and getting that kiss. Good to see Ted man up and call Carlton out. I rolled my eyes at Ted and Andre coming up to the table, but I was invested in it because as much as I do like Nicole around Carlton...that IS Ted's friend. Not to mention business partner.

I continue to enjoy seeing Chels deal with the aftermath of the kidnapping. It was a small thing this episode, but she got back online and took that step. And I like Madison being there for her.

Nicole is a character with steadiness *and* dynamism, and one of the leads of the show.  Yet her storyline all year has been "the woman whose husband cheated on her".
She did have a few scenes this year with Martin and several sister scenes with Dani, but the majority of her scenes have been
about her connection/nonconnection to a man.
I want something about HER.

(I had brought this post over to the October thread, too)

Yeah, I'm tired of them playing Nicole like a plot point. Where is her agency? How is she feeling? I know she's being a great friend there for Vanessa, but what else is there? The writers already seem to be setting up Ted and June. It's cute...but what about the woman who was cheated on? Can we not see her recover?

Heck, today's episode I felt every word that Andre said to Nicole. Could it be that she feels a way about Dani/Andre because she wants to keep Dani being seen as the hot mess while she's perfect? There's potential to explore that, too. They touched on it during Week 1. I wouldn't mind.

And yes, more mother scenes of her would be nice, too.
