That's how I feel. If I didn't care about this show, I wouldn't share my opinions. Hell, I wouldn't watch the show.

@Maxim and I agree on a lot more than we don't, so we naturally appreciate each other's comments. I love his honesty because it's based on what we see on the screen. I do enjoy reading  comments from others who love everything -- every single thing -- because that pushes me to see the other side and question what I'm saying.

SAME. Honestly sometimes I just open to read what positive and witty stuff @Taoboi has said about the show. I have no issues with positivity either. And I'll be part of it... when the show delivers something I like. I remember how ecstatic I was with the Leslie-reveal episodes... I remember writing these long posts of praise. I was crazy in love with the potential and I couldn't wait to see Nicole's next chapter. I want to be able to do this again. If I have to be honest... I dream of not only BTG doing better. I would literally pass out... if Bold got a new writer... that leads it in better direction. But that's another topic. 🙃

It's not necessary, but it's also not rude lol again, have I fallen into some alternate soap fandom universe where people haven't spent the last 25 years being very blunt and honest about what's on screen?

Re: "constructive criticism." I might stand alone on this, but it's not a viewer's responsibility to provide "constructive criticism." We can certainly choose to be in-depth with our feedback, and spaces like SON have been built on (mostly) healthy discussion. But in the bigger picture, we ain't part of the production team. We ain't sitting at a table with TPTB and "constructing" this show with them. Sometimes "This sucks" is all an average viewer can say in response to a story/character/scene/episode/whatever, and that's perfectly fine. TPTB can let that get stuck in their craw, use it as fuel to re-evaluate, or (and this is my suggestion), roll along and understand that you can't please everyone. That said, I don't see a problem with what MVJ tweeted, because AFAIK, it was a general statement put out there to the general fanbase. I like that because it does show that she's still a writer who pays attention and cares about how things are landing with vierwers. When it becomes an ultra-defensive back-and-forth with individuals because not everyone loves your show, then it's about time we get you ready for bed, champ (Ronald David Carlivati).

PS, I'm only here because @Khan so graciously tagged me in reference to an opinion we share. I've seen maybe an act or two of the show since I said I needed to take a break from it. Glad y'all are still enjoying it.

I agree with 95% of this. I loved the way you put the second part.

I don't know where this raging, irrational response to criticism is, but it's not in these threads. Ergo it's not my problem.

The main problem I see with dialogue is a lack of consistency. Characters speak differently depending on who pens the script. Some days we get no pop cultural references and slang. Other days? We're overloaded with them. I'm also not a fan of dropping in a cultural reference just because. A soap isn't 2025 because it mentions a pop star or overdoes the slang.

I'm also frustrated when a storyline ramps up, gets really intense, and then disappears for weeks. Can that work? Yes -- but not for every damn story.

That's it. That's the main issue with the dialogue. Sometimes the whole show sounds very intelligent and... there is dept... and some episodes it's like whole another show, especially if the actors don't know how to digest bad material yet. Some will never learn, chiile, because they just can't. (cough) Thomas...  (cough) And about that second part - that was my initial main criticism moooonths ago. That they go from climax to climax... with these lulls in-between. Skipping the beats... they go for another culmination couple of weeks later, almost like a tabloid paper headline storyboard. It's like every month it's the reveal of the month... and that should be enough for now. Well... no... I want more... I want more in between. I want more substance.

One positive thing I forgot to say - TMG continues to be the gift that keeps on giving. I liked her scene with Peaches... and I like the moments where they give her more nuance.

I feel like I should step in between my rewatching this week and rewatching the Monica scenes from last week's GH to say...I'm not ALWAYS positive. lol. I didn't like last week and didn't even bother to rewatch it, I disliked it so much. And since we hit the 6 months mark, I know that I've been even more picky even though BTG still has soooome grace from me. I also noticed I'm getting a little more impatient on some things (off the top of my head...Nicole's story, Hayley's baby lie). So when I see something I liked...and I'm actually home to watch it live (with no pre-emptions) which I was shocked to see I would be home this week...well...I like what I like. But like I said the other day...I'm one of the few people who liked the Doug/Vanessa/Joey storyline from the beginning (hey, Diego, hey lol). How it was separate storylines at first. They were slowly, but organically developed with good POV moments. And then the various storylines converged. It really was the most developed of the B plots.

If this is Guza on his way out the door, I liked he got to prove what I said...it's strong enough as a storyline to be the main attraction this week. And it was a great turn. Doug died. I'm looking forward to Vanessa finding out the truth. I'm REALLY looking forward to the twins arriving. But I understand D/V/J is not one of the favorite storylines here so I expected this week to be a rough watch. I thought the show did a good job with the other stories circling D/V/J this week though unlike last week so I hoped there was still enjoyment had.

It's also giving me a chance to pick up on the dialogue. I know it has been a discussion here, but I'm not catching what everyone has been saying. Thank you @Maxim for explaining it better because I was confused.

Same. SilkPress can be over the top and have nuance. They need to keep her like this.

I actually liked Ashley and Derek scenes. I need Derek to wake up.

And yep, I'm going "ship" Andre and Ashley. Sue me.

I definitely am enjoying them more in this storyline than their 'move in together' storyline.

Why sue? You have taste. 😜

Would like someone who is pro Andre/Ashley to detail their stance re why they are a good couple and should be together.

I think all the differing opinions we have here are interesting and thought provoking.

I think beginning I did think they had chemistry and potential but Dani/Andre ended up having surprising chemistry which drew me more towards that couple. With Ashley, every choice the character has made makes it hard for me to want her with anybody romantically. If the Joey speculation ends up being true I'd rather explore that and her as a talk to until they can come up with something new that has nothing to do with Derek or Andre. She's in dire need of a reset.

Kill me with fire... But I prefer Ashley and Andre to Dani and Andre. I just think a basic bish like Ashley deserves a basic photographer like Andre.

My girl Dani is way too crazy and messy to settle for this.

All the credit goes to @ranger1rg who explained it perfectly. 👏

Yes! I was beginning to dread her episodes, because she was way too cartoonish. Lately I'm seeing attempts to turn her into a human being again, with a side of camp... TMG is one of these people that can digest even the worst dialogue into something presentable. She just makes it funny.

See... I have some positives to say. 😍❤️
