I've noticed that Carly is becoming a talk to. She's in all these episodes but feels like filler. Even at her most infuriating, she's usually driving story (even if it is too much).

I'm ready for Dr. Gannon to have a proper romance. They shouldn't have dropped him and Jordan.

I know...it's surprising. Liz is filler, too, but they actually use her pretty well vs their actual lead. What is up with that?

And for Sidwell? Yeeeeah NOPE.

Good Friday cliffhangers with Britt coming face to face with Jason, Joss shooting the gun, Stella getting caught for insurance fraud, Drew goading Michael into assaulting him.

The worst parts of the show were Sonny and the kids, but I guess they served their plot purpose.  The ADA Turner character actress is pretty, but is being totally wasted.  The least they could have done story-wise for that character is make her a recast of the Nikki Cox character from the early 1990s.  Is Sonny ever going to face justice for killing FBI agent Wagger?  Doesn't Jagger have a hot son and sister out there wondering what happened to him?  Sonny needs the death sentence and ADA/AUSA Gina Cates should give it to him with an assist from her PI nephew who looks like Antonio Sabato Jr in the "Love Will Never Do (Without You)" music video.  Finally rid Port Charles of the mob, then reconnect with his maternal grandfather Scott Baldwin who finally gets justice for Karen by seeing Sonny executed.

The show recast Gina Cates in the 1996 or 1997 with some blonde actress, who was a non-entity.  She worked at Luke's, was teased with Jason, then disappeared.  It wouldn't be the worst idea to make ADA Turner Gina Cates I suppose, but I don't think the ADA Turner character needs to exist, so I won't worry about her much.  Bringing Jagger's Autistic son back would have more potential, but, again, I am fine leaving the Wagger mess alone.

I did think the show had good cliffhangers for once.

At this point I would keep the little girl that plays Donna over Wiley.  Donna is adorable and natural, but the little boy that plays Wiley is just awful.  I know he's a child, but I would really consider offing one of Michael's kids at this point.  If I have to see Wiley this often and in emotional scenes at least recast him.

Yeah, I don't see any point in bringing back Gina or Stone II, etc. in any real way. They're not exactly thrilling characters. The only way I'd consider it is to let Stone appear briefly to create pathos re: Wagger's murder, as part of a story where Sonny finally gets some form of takedown. He can show up and give a statement to the court or cops or something lol. Beyond that, who cares?

I think both those unnecessary kids are disposable at best but I would kill off Donna to help break Carly down again. Wiley needs a new name - any new name - and a recast, obviously. And then to be rarely seen or heard for years. Amelia is just another of many of these children who should not exist, not that Wiley needed to.

Stone Jr. has some potential only because of Wagger's murder and the fact he's autistic.  We still don't know who is mother is.  NO ONE suggest Brenda!  He could be the ADA's son.  In any event, there's nothing truly long term there.

I'd still kill off Wiley over Donna because that is reaching Violet levels of obnoxious.  Plus, I don't want another era of Chloe Lanier dominating the show.

Wow so the GH twitter said for Friday August 15: "Due to ongoing breaking news coverage, today’s all-new #GeneralHospital is currently being preempted in some time zones. Anyone affected will be available to stream the episode on http://abc.com or @hulu beginning at 8pm eastern | 5pm pacific. #GH "

Usually when they make such an announcement, it means that the episode will be up on abc.com unlocked and you can watch the whole thing immediately once it's uploaded there, (instead of waiting the usual week for it to be unlocked to the public)  But it's currently requiring you to post your cable subscriber proof to watch before they'll unlock it.

Oh... I see now that Nathan Varni tweeted this, and does specify that it should be unlocked.   And he gives channels airing overnight but I didn't see those in time.

The reason I say no to killing off any kids is because GH already has 3 major characters/actors to memorialize. We're already at Death Overload.

You don't have to kill them off next month! But I'd def kill one or two in the next few years, and offload the rest for ages to come.

Yeah, I am not saying the show should kill off 5 kids in a bus accident or something on Monday.  Although...not the worst idea.

At some point the show will actually need to deal with all the influx of children.  I am not advocating a bunch of violence or anything.  It's either send most of them off to oblivion for years at boarding school or give them a potential poignant death story that actual gives the child a purpose.

    • Some of those 1988-ish episodes are up. I'm not really sure she did much else. I think I recall something along the lines of she and Rusty had been suspended over the investigation of Nicky, George's supplier. I'm not sure she even gets some kind of goodbye. I think she just disappeared when Pam Long returned.
    • I did not care, just clarifying that was the discussion point. If there are ice cream bars in Statesville I am sure there is a full spa
    • Seeing Peter Bergman (Jack) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) act opposite each other really makes me mad that their short-lived reunion in 2012 was just that... short-lived. I've always loved the Jack/Nikki pairing.
    • No.  I recall there was also a mention about how distracting it was EOB's Gwen wasn't wearing nail polish as well.  That it was someone's pet peeve. And, yes, the fact characters can have a manicure in prison is the wildest continuity issue here.
    • Can anyone remember Mary Ellen Stuart's run as Jenny? I'm trying to fill in the cracks for missing stuff that we overlooked.  Bulletpoints:  * Dated Ross * Rusty's police partner * Directly responsible for Dinah coming forward about George Stewart (Cam's father)
    • But that's not weird... nail polish is allowed in prisons via commissary. Same with general makeup, haircuts, and hair colouring products.
    • This is DAYS, the show that said you could brainwash anyone with simple kitchen appliances.  An actor's nail polish or lack thereof should be the least of our concerns, lol.
    • It was not that she wasn't wearing nail polish, it is that she managed to get a manicure in prison
    • "We're Knot Done Yet": the name of this lovely podcast AND what JVA tells her plastic surgeon at every appointment. In other news, Michele Lee is reminding me more and more of my old music teacher from elementary school, and I couldn't STAND that bitch.
    • I apologize if this has been covered already, but does anyone know whether Douglas Marland was HW'ing by that point?  If he was, then I see what he meant when he said (in so many words) that he had inherited a mess when he started at GH.  Aside from Alan and Monica, none of that material seems very promising.  The story with Mark Dante and the Corbins is the wrong kind of predictable (y'know, the kind where you know what's going to happen, but you just don't give a crap?), the stuff with Scotty and Laura is cute but toothless, I don't know WHAT the hell Gina and Steve Carlson's character are arguing about and Rick Webber has to be the dumbest man alive not to see David Hamilton twirling his invisible moustache over how to make a killing off Lamont Corbin's declining health.  (By the way, "LAMONT CORBIN"?  What is this, "The Shadow"?  And "Corbin Limited" sounds like some jive I'd hear over on Y&R.) In a way, it's kind of like watching today's GH, right down to the dialogue that's serviceable and pushes plot along but says nothing about the characters' inner lives.
