Are they now saying that Jill and Colin have been together ever since she left Genoa City?  Was that how it played out on the show back then?  I don't remember them leaving town together, but perhaps they did and I've just forgotten it.  I thought Colin left Genoa City long before Jill did.

And wasn't the signature on the letter today "Genevieve"?  I'm fairly sure Genevieve was Cane's mother's first name (played by Genie Francis).  Why would they use the same first name for the French countess (or whatever she was) who originally owned the property in Nice?

Yes it was a letter from Genevieve.  Cane was reading a letter that Genevieve had sent to Colin.  They were divorced many years, but it seem that she had sent him a handwritten letter after she had learned he was dying.

Okay. Thank you.  I thought that was the letter Victor had given Cane which was from the French countess.  At least I think Victor gave Cane a letter about inheriting the property.

Well I don't want you to get in trouble @janea4old but thank you. I was wondering what people were mentioning online yesterday. I will probably sit down to watch though I do worry if it might trigger me re: lost parent.

Jill and Colin divorced.

She found out about all his cons and schemes, so she locked him in the attic and forced him to sign divorce papers. She made sure he had no claims to her money.

Of course, Josh Griffith is garbage, so that can all be hand-waved.

-- None of this "Cane sends a video message to Charlie and Mattie" resonates because they're not on screen and haven't been on screen. There's no way to care about them or about Cane. JG thinks he's writing Shakespeare when he's writing trash.

-- Why is Billy Flynn dressed in that grungy t-shirt for these scenes?

Wow.  Parts of today's episode were difficult to watch. I'm a big supporter of realism (or at least believability) on soaps. But today's episode was brutally real.  In my 60+ years of watching soap operas, I don't ever remember an actor so close to death, playing a character in the same situation.  Tristan was certainly brave and dedicated to his craft. He proved that on today's episode.

That's sort of what I remembered.  But today's scenes between Cane and Colin implied that Colin and Jill were still a couple.  Did anyone else get that vibe from the dialogue?  I suppose they might have reunited off-screen.  That has become a staple of Josh Griffith's writing.

The video message was ridiculous.  Can anyone imagine any viewer younger than 60 sitting through that 30-minute monologue?  Y&R has obviously given up on the younger demos.  Billy Flynn is arguably the best actor on daytime, but even he could not bring that garbage to life.  But his scenes with Tristan Rogers were sincere and believable.

tbf...wasn't it established in one of Jill's scenes that she knew Colin was dying. I assume that they had some conversation?

I definitely remember Jill finally being rid of Colin and I was very happy about that. It def wouldn’t surprise me if JG in his infinite wisdom had her go back to him offscreen.

So...I watched it. First episode since the Dumas reveal that I watched all the way through.

I was happy that it didn't trigger me though I did feel sad seeing TR.

What I liked about it was seeing him. And if I heard correctly, the reason Cane has all that Dumas money is through Colin's ability to hustle. And I was never so glad to see Giggly Heffa because 30 minutes of Cane talking to himself was giving Billy and his podcast (no offense to BF who did carry it as best he could). So I was happy to see another person in the episode. She was a surprising voice of reason. That said...NO to Cane/GigglyHeffa. And I loved the added touch of Genivere. I liked her...NOT how they chose to use her to replace Jill, loved GF, and LOOOOVE her can't-find-dramatic-entrance tv promo when she looked campy force of nature. It was a really nice touch.

Other than that...farewell, your prince you.

Thursday cliffhanger

Nikki thinks her husband's dislike of Kyle had more to do with Jack. Victor admits he’ll always despise the Abbott. Nikki fumes that this feud has to end. Stubborn as ever, Victor declares the war will never come to an end!!!!

I was riveted by this revelation.

Meanwhile Kyle decides to propose to Claire-the love of his life.

Not to be confused with Summer and Lola 2 previous loves of his life.

This will be Kyle's 4th marriage in 6 years.
