Totally unnecessary but I asked AI to generate a magenta house in a gated community to see how tacky it would come out.

Looks like an AI generated image for The Wizard of Fairmount.

"Follow the magenta brick road, perhaps?"

I wonder if the show started airing slightly earlier than they expected considering the 200 episode order - maybe they had planned to start the show post-March Madness, but made the decision to put it earlier (without ordering new episodes).

I think you're right.

Back in 1973, Young and the Restless had a late March premiere.  So did Capitol in 1982.  So did Bold and the Beautiful in 1987.

This time, it sorta looks like CBS got caught with their pants down.  The Talk ended its season in December 2024, leaving CBS with 3 months and nothing to air (except reruns of "The Talk", which was performing poorly).  They instead substituted reruns of Price is Right in that time slot, and they likely started Beyond the Gates a month earlier than planned, in order to get out of the 90-day consecutive rerun business.

not familiar with the 90-day consecutive rerun issue. i thought the late february start allowed them to take full advantage  of Black history month.

Anyone else's episode skipping? It's the only channel skipping, so weird. I guess I'll have to watch on Paramount later :(

  • I am going to need Katherine and Jacob to move a bit faster, or with more urgency. It is clear Allison is cuckoo crazy!
  • Rings? Okay. They are cute. And good on Chelsea for trying to avoid kissing Allison by stating they are not a traditional couple.
  • Tomas in Bill's office feels right... but I also find it suspect he has not been helping Katherine concerning the situation at hand.
  • Dana continues to be EXTRA EXTRA tell me about it!
  • Yes, Chelsea, keep on outsmarting her. You have got this. You are a Dupree and a Hamilton!
  • Dana, settle down; a petition for divorce was filed, but that does not mean it will be completed or finalised.
  • Deadbeat is not actually trying to act like he is one to talk about finding out now in comparison to when actions happened. Hypocrite.
  • Katherine, half the time, your intuitions are wrong.
  • Sorry, but both Deadbeat and Katherine are adults. If your parents divorce, why do you care? I mean, I get it... but you are both ADULTS!
  • Ted, on paper, your idea is nice, but are you really going to live with Dana and Eva? That does not sound like a sound idea. I pray he is playing on her feelings to the point where, once backed out of the deal, he goes back on his.
  • Dana waltzing in like she owns the house already shows she should not get comfortable.
  • ALLISON, YOU ARE TWENTY MILLION FEET OFF OF THE DEEP END!! Whew... what an ending!

Notes:

  • Whew... today is a breakdown by the "writer", and we immediately have shortened scenes both pre- and post-title cards.
  • RhonniRose Mantilla (Chelsea) and Brianna Roberts (Allison) continue to do outstanding work in their scenes. I am buying them both.
  • We are finally getting Alex Alegria (Tomas) into better-fitting suits. Still not where I would like to see it, but much, much better.
  • Keith D. Robinson (Ted) is an actor's actor. He can work in any medium, and I am so happy we have him on our soap.

Somebody should tell Leslie, the first thing she should have done was hire an attorney and a financial manager.  The idea that this "recently rich" woman is entering this world with no advice from anyone makes her look stupider than she is supposed to be.  Also, I think Anita should have fought a little harder to have the trust revoked.  It seemed she had only one very short conversation about that with Ted, then she gave up.  There should have been a least a brief legal battle, which Leslie would have likely won.

And was there no resolution on Leslie's suspected attempted murder case?  Did they just drop the whole thing?  I think it should have gone to court, and then the judge would see all the messy tampering Kat did with the evidence, causing the case to be dismissed.  The entire thing could have been wrapped-up with one or two scenes with a judge in his chambers (no need for a courtroom set).  But to just drop it is lazy writing in my opinion.
