Yes it has, along with the corrupt cop (Marcel) and the frequent use of the police department and attorneys.  Many of EON's attributes are present on this show.

Not to mention the literary IRONY and "parallelisms" we saw on Edge.  After the introductory scene of Vanessa & the "male escort" in Episode #3, the next usage of the Uptown set (Episode #4) was when Chelsea, celebrating her Ebony shoot and her surge in social media followers, was approached by the man known as "Craig" at the Uptown bar.  It was basically a "replay" of the Vanessa/Zeke scene with the "lady" and the "escort", but it was disguised sufficiently to throw most viewers off.

At first I wasn't fooled by Craig -- I assumed he was a hooker, too -- but he never asked for money, which made it somewhat bewildering.  And then a few episodes later, he introduced Chelsea to his "wife" Allison.  It LOOKED like the set-up for a con game (putting Chelsea in a compromising position and bilking Senator Dupree out of some $$$), but it never materialized in that direction, and I slowly decided Allison & Craig perhaps were on the up & up, till that weird "wound" Allison received that required a trip to the hospital.

I love this post.

Leslie knew better than to do all of that, but that's totally on brand for her. And Anita hugging Bill was so phony since she said she never liked him even before he cheated. Even in the context of Chelsea being missing that was phony.

Kat's meddling has gotten Martin in some more mess. Sure, Martin could have declined to do anything that Joey asked but he wasn't going to if it meant getting Chelsea back.

One little beat I noticed is that Hayley looked up at Bill to see his reaction to Andre and Dani.

Or...NOT. It seems it's being pre-empted. For interesting, but irrelevant news. Since there was a similar technical difficulty moment the other day, let me side-eye a bit.

Back to catching up on GH I go then.

Um... BTG being compared to EON... yeah, not even close.   MVJ is no Henry Slesar... she's more like a Lee Sheldon (adequate, but not a mystery writer).

i really loved that nicole set aside the antagonism she feels to sympathize  — even empathize — with haley’s (unlikely) ‘loss.’

i was hoping that anita could have done the same with bill — genuinely acknowledge the situation at hand.

I dont beleive she never liked it. Its easy to say that in retrospect after years of hurt but I can se them having a better relationship i the early days. They both love Chelsea so the hug felt warranted. She's dealing with alot especially with Leslie so this caused her to let her guard down

Same!  This has been one of my favorite storylines so far, and favorite weeks to watch since the first month.

Co sign. I didn’t expect this story to be the catalyst for so many reveals like Andre/Dani to Bill and Chelsea’s sexuality being revealed to Bill. Good stuff.

-- I don't think we can talk about the power and pull of the Dupree family when it takes selling out to a mob boss for a favor.

-- I want Joey gone, but if he's going to be a major character, they need to give him an office that suits him. Watching him work his finances at a casino table with a  notepad and a lockbox was hilarious.

-- Did I miss the scene where Allison put a 2nd handcuff on Chelsea? Their scenes were good, although I do wish they'd made the set more realistic and make it near impossible for Chelsea to save herself.

-- Did not like seeing Nicole hug Hayley or Anita hug Bill. A bridge too far.

-- Everyone and their mother showed up at the Dupree house except for Ted, which is another example of this show giving him terrible story. How many ways can they show him as being non-caring about the entire family?

-- So Ashley showed up to see and talk to Andre...and that's it? She comforted Naomi for about 3 seconds and then moved on to Andre. Maybe tomorrow Derek can show up in a wheelchair.

-- So glad the show is writing Bill as accepting of Chelsea's sexuality. It's the right move.

Commericals:

-- When the show ends, we immediately get a 15-second promo for BTG, and it's always for scenes we've already watched. I wish we'd instead get a brief look at something coming up.

-- How many times will we have to sit through the same promo for The Road with Keith Urban? Jesus.

-- I miss Febreze and Tide.

I actually think Joey/JL has come up a ton in menace and stature since Vanessa threw in with him and turned into Carly from GH 2000 - not that Jon was ever a bad actor, but he seemed pretty creaky initially trying to step outside the backburner talk-to comfort zone from GH. Is he a dude who seems like a stone psycho like Ryan Chamberlain or Manny Ruiz from GH, no, but Joey does project presence and authority more now than he did early on.

I'd be fine with doing more with him, but he definitely has got to get out of the Golden Corral. It looks like the crime scene from The Accused.

When Kat visited Joey, I was so scared for her.

Yes, I am reading it as he is more upset that he was not involved in his daughter's life and sad that she didn't feel safe/close enough to come to him sooner.

Now why is Silk Press being this messy. A sympathy plant 🪴 😅

I actually felt bad as Bill learned more and more that’s been kept away from h because of the way the divorce happened.

When they opened the door and it was SPS I [!@#$%^&*] died.

"Dear Lord, please bring that precious little girl home to her triflin' two-faced daddy."   🤣

Line of the episode.

Leslie showing up today really does make me want her to be the one to somehow rescue Chelsea. The Duprees heads would literally explode for the third time in 2 weeks.
