Smitty and Jacob need to hit the sheets!

Smitty should've already dumped Martin sorry a$$.

And yes BC isn't cutting it as Martin.

Martin's secret needs to spill now. It's been going in circles far too long with us the audience still in the dark.

I appreciate affairs on soaps, and for other characters of all genders I might say yes to that.
But I really like Smitty and Jacob as platonic friends -- I just think they work well as friends and they each need a friend.I think Jacob and Smitty work better as friends than Jacob and Derek.

Whenever Bill needs to have a private conversation with a visitor at home, he sends Haley upstairs to give him privacy.

I wonder: what if Haley secretly listens in on Bill's secret meetings?

Yes. Let's do better. The showrunners aren't. Don't blame ANY actor.

I try and not directly respond to you (for obvious reasons), but I trust the showrunners. It's you and your ideas I don't.

I try not to respond to you either. But at this point, I'm not the only one who SEES the problems. I got blamed for this and that early on.

JR is not a bad actor. He was let down by the writing...as everyone flying away from that show have proven (or will be proving next year in one's case) by how the actors are bouncing back on other soaps and showing they can act. But I digress.

I feel BC has been doing a good job. That said...I do feel that the show has pulled back from some of the actor's debatably few strengths...and that has been hit or miss. But I am invested in his storyline.

The real question is...now that we are not slowing easing BC into the role and are now in the thick of his storyline and its approaching climax...can BC pull it off. And we are about to find out.

TWIST? Jacob and Smitty are hitting the sheets with Naomi thinking that her husband and her cousin Kat are. 😈

I haven't really had a problem with BC. I've enjoyed his performances and don't think anybody is propping him up. Today's episode was very strong and tense in large part due to his performance. I love how they've kept the momentum up so we can tell that the secret is finally coming out.

The other major highlight for were the Ashley/Haley scenes. They have a nice chemistry and it's refreshing to see Ashley outside of the relationship with Derek. All either of those characters needed was to get away from each other. Well he also needed to learn to act but I'm happy we're past that. Ashley has shown herself to be a bit of a mess so I wonder where she's going to land with Haley.

Vernon and Bill's scenes were also excellent. I loved Vernon calling his wife as things escalate to a 10.

All in all this was a great start to the week. I can't wait to see what comes next! This is now potentially 3 blockbuster weeks in a row. I hope the ratings reflect it.

Same. Like just look at his 'calm before the storm' scenes he had last week with Smitty. He was looking at his husband like a man in love, wanting to tell his secret, but at the same time couldn't...and he played those layers quite well. Something he could not pull off...say Week 1.

I don't think he's being propped either, but it's been a minute since he's been overbearing and arrogant like his grandpapa cuz he's coming across half of the time as a whiny politician guy (which I find kinda weak for him) and as a frantic parent which I do admit he carries a lot better. BC definitely does anger very well, but sometimes he can uneven with it...which can be a problem.

I'm really looking forward to the moment I've been mentioning since the beginning...the moment when Martin has TOTAL recall. The last month we been getting more and more of the memory of that night. And I want to see how BC does. I always suspected that it would hit him when he was pushed to the edge. We almost got that when the anniversary party happened and Silk Press Sheila kept poking him with the brownie memory as well as him being upset with his father, but the writers pulled back. Now the stakes keep getting higher and higher with his family in growing danger and him growing more and more frantic so I expect his mind to find snap, revealing what the memory actually is.

I'm glad they made it clear that Vernon would never have anything to do with killing anyone! At least there is some moral center to the show! Clifton has been great, and Vernon definitely makes for a solid patriarch!

Deadbeat, Deadbeat, Deadbeat... you know, if you were fücking honest (for once), your daughter would know to stay away from the White man stalking you. But no, you keep your deadbeat mouth shut.

Just curious: Is there a reason you continually call Martin "Deadbeat"? It's pretty clear that you don't like Brandon Claybon at all, so is that the reason?

-- That being said, some of these writing choices for Martin are beyond stupid. Why did he return to the park area to look around? Did he think Kenny would be sunbathing? He's supposedly a U.S. Congressman, yet he runs from place to place with no plan, no goal, no back up. Beyond stupid.

-- Hearing Samantha repeat that she's tired of being treated like she's a little girl is hilarious when we all saw her interact with a strange adult. Then she goes over what she was taught, sounding like a 12-year old who is ready to yell "stranger danger."

-- Are we really buying that brilliant minds like Vernon and Bill didn't know how "the problem" was handled? And why did they have that meeting of all the powerful men in town (including laughable mob man Joey) if they didn't think murder was on the table?

-- Maybe we should get flashbacks showing us when Hayley and Bill fell for each other. I can only imagine how that would play on our screens. The truth is that it would make both of them come off as disgusting.

-- I'm fine with Brandon Claybon as Martin, and I do not want a recast. I do want the writers to do better and to play to his strengths as an actor. I do not think they're doing that, and they've had time to know what those strengths are by now.

No; I genuinely believe Martin to be a deadbeat, hence why I refer to him as "Deadbeat". It's an absent parent and a horrible excuse of a husband. I, unlike some, can disconnect actor from character.

I agree. Just when they were talking about it when they had the slideshow, it felt icky so I'm sure it would be worse seeing it in a flashback.

Knowing what we know now...I wouldn't be surprised. If not now then a few months from now.

Wait! Is Allison stalking her?

SHUT UP, SHARON!!! oooooh now Anita done threw them out.

See? Now the mom done came out in Smitty. Wrong move, Martin. But I guess that means the drama between the two of them will finally come to a head.

AWWWWWWW HELLLLL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew it when he made that comment about Samantha! Great cliffhanger!

And next week...YASSS!! More Dark Vernon and Smitty (with bass in that voice) vs Martin. Naomi with a new wig. Outdoor location like that has been mentioned here. YES, PLEASE.

Oooo that cliffhanger!!

Sharon was fighting just to fight with Anita. I was happy she threw them out.

I dunno why she’d think Allison is stalking her when there’s literally only two places to eat beyond the country club lol.
