I was so confused why Devon was prying into Nicks love life and then it clicked and I remembered they’re brother-in-laws. Shows how little I pay attention to this show anymore. I was like uh? Do these two even know each other this well?

A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.

I know the fashions have gotten mixed reviews but I actually like what the new costume designer is putting the cast in. It feels more modern and the more tacky pieces I feel make sense for rich people. They're buying for the brand and the price and we often see celebs in things like this. Especially for a character like Nikki, I feel the more over the top (and tacky), the more realistic it is.

 

I agree. While it has been hit and miss no question, I have found it fascinating to watch what the costume designer is attempting to do with the various characters and their clothes. Some have been overdue. Some have been fascinating. But (outside of Billy) not boring to watch. I definitely find it more modern as well.

 

My growing issue has been it's not good that the best reason to watch Y&R as of late has been to see what people are wearing rather than the writing. It feels like a red flag.

To each their own. The fashions on Y&R are questionable at best.

Agree. Much more miss than hit.

Maybe I'm out of the loop, but I thought clothing was supposed to be flattering.

A lot of the Y&R women are seen in the tight solid color dresses ,often with cutouts/one shoulder. Now that may be a fashion but to have all of them in interchangeable dresses...

Do the characters have a particular color pallette/style that is unique to them?

BTG does a better job in that department.

Some recent Y&R looks. I actually like the dress but we see that style too often.

Which is why I said...and continue to say mind you...that the designer is still trying to figure out what works for which character...highlight my points with particular characters. And as I also agree with you, too many misses. She has not found a clear, firm rhythm for me. Yet.

 

I also agree that BTG does a much better job. But I'll give credit where it's due.

Sorry, but I'm loving the fashions introduced by Mandi. There have been very few I've disliked; if anyone, in my eyes, is misdressed, it's Hayley Erin's Claire.

Nikki is now a messy matriarch/grande dame and her styling reflects that. For age 69, MTS looks pretty good.

Nikki’s outfits are fine. It’s supposed to be over the top. They aren’t all my favourites but they usually make sense.

I agree that she looks good.  I wasn't slamming her, her age or her looks in my last post.  I was just commenting on the fact that her wardrobe and hair gave me Susan Sullivan/"Dharma & Greg" vibes, lol.
